Guys welcome back to the channel, it's a girl, it's a girl, ginger, of course welcome back. Today'S video is going to be all about my hair color. My texture. Has it changed? Is my hair damaged all of the questions that you want answers to? As you know, i recently bleached and colored my hair, it's the very first time that i've ever did something like this, and personally i love it. I'Ve been getting so many messages, though, about how damaging bleach is how my hair is going to fall out, and i just need to wait and see. Y'All can be so wild, sometimes with some of the things that you say. Some people even left some main messages. Talking about how i'm misleading the internet, especially under my wash and go video because it's not the wash and go technique, it's the color that made your hair. Look like this! So in today's video we're going to explore if my hair is damaged by the color and how damaged my hair actually is, there are a few things that are different in my hair journey, though i stopped using oil and butters in june this year, and i went Ahead and bleached and colored my hair august of 2021, it was the year a change when it comes to my hair. So let me take you back to the beginning of this year, maybe last year, so that you can see exactly what my hair used to look like what my hair started to look like after i ditched the oil and butters and what my hair looks after i Bleach and colored it and we can all decide how damaged my hair really is. As you know, i used to do a six month, protective style challenge, so i was in and out of protective styles for the majority of 2021, at least the first five months. So let me take you back to 2020. now it was actually hard to find footage with my hair completely out, because i lived in twist. I really didn't leave my hair out. Almost ever i washed my hair and twist i deep conditioned and twist i kept my hair protected into us most of the time, so i had to dig really hard to find this footage from may of 2020. Ironically enough, this isn't why i took this shot, but look at how the water is collecting on top of my hair and it's not being absorbed interesting huh. Those were my oils and butter days girl. In any case, this is what my hair looked like. This is what my textures look like. Take it all in, because this is going to be our starting point, moving right along to the first time i actually did a wash and go in 2020. Now this is what my hair looked like. You can see my little ringlets, my hair had a bunch of gel in it to hold my hair patterned together, but you can really see the texture and you can basically see what my hair looked like before. I did anything to it again at the time. I was using oils and butters that was part of my routine and that's how i knew my hair now fast forward to july of 2021. This is when i had ditched the oils and butters and i started doing wash and go's exclusively. I was learning a lot about my hair and this was a wash and go. I hadn't mastered the style, yet i really didn't know what i was doing, but this is me in august of 2021, and this was a twist out - and i had only used one product for this. If you're interested in this style, it will be linked down below. Of course, my hair looked amazing. Doesn'T it look at this definition? Look at this bounce! Look at that movement! Okay, jen! We see you girl in august 2021, i started mastering the wash and go, but not really okay. This is me in the shower, with my hair, soaking wet. I was living in the shower at that point, really trying to learn my hair figure things out how it's supposed to feel without the oils and butters. All of that was new to me, but, as you can see, my hair is absorbing water, a lot more because it's just hanging lower. You can tell that it's heavy with water, don't forget to peep the texture and the pattern. Do you see the little ringlets you see them so that was august of this year? In the same month i went and saw a stylist. She does not use oils and butter, so the routine was very similar to what i was already doing, but i definitely learned a lot from her in terms of styling in terms of how to go about taking care of your hair and, if you're interested in this Video, it will actually be linked down below as well. It'S a video that will be very, very helpful to you if you are thinking about not using olds and butters, and also try to understand why we are no longer using it and by we i mean me if you're interested check out the description box below, but You can see my hair after she did it. You can see the definition that i had again don't forget to look at the ringlets girl, but that's basically what my hair looked like after that session and then the day came that i dyed my hair. Yes, we went the whole nine yards, we bleached it and we colored it. This is what my hair looked like exactly after bleaching, so right before the color um, you can really see how spongy it looks. We added the color and it was this nice ginger. Color love it love it anyways. This is what my hair looked like right after i left the stylish chair. Oh, my hair just looks so different and it's the way that she set my wash and go so i learned a lot of the techniques from her as well um. Basically, the way that i set my wash and gos is very similar to how z set my wash and go, and i really like the result that she got they're predictable and i try to continue doing the same thing in any case. Let'S get into this definition and texture, let's get up close and personal look at this. This is what my hair looked like. It has a lot of bounce, it has a lot of movement and the colors just chef kiss. My hair is still very much shrinking as much as you used to mind you at that point. I had a haircut as well, so you can definitely see the shape, but that is what my hair looked like fast forward to september. You know when i started doing my hair myself after i saw the stylus and i started mastering the wash and go at that point. I kind of felt like i had a grip as to what i was doing and you can see what my hair looks like. It'S just absorbing more of the water it's hanging lower. I still have a lot of texture and definition. The ringlets are still here in october. Our routine hasn't really changed much, except for the fact that we were still not using oils and butters, and this is what my hair looked like, soaking wet again. One thing that i started noticing early on is how much water my hair will actually start absorbing and how much weighted down it will be just by using water or after i shampoo, my hair. You can really tell, but in any case this is what my hair looked like, and i wanted to include this footage to show you that the way that my hair dries really depends on how i set it. Okay, so you guys are seeing my hair in a wash and go it's weighted down. It'S very defined. You can really get into the ringlets, but it all depends on how i set my hair. So this time around, i did not set my hair with the usual products that i use and also i did not want to have a very defined wash and go, and i did not get a very defined wash and go. This is what my hair looked like. A shrunken fro - and i really love this look for me. First of all, i think it's beautiful, but you can see how much shrunken my hair is mind you i did not get a haircut. I did not change my hair. I didn't do anything other than sitting. My hair differently and it looks very different. This is another set that i did later in november. Looking at my hair here, i did not define it as much as i usually do, and you can see that my hair is more recognizable in a sense. If you want to compare it to my hair before i dyed it, it has all the texture in it. This right here is actually a wash and go that i did, though, but i did not take my time to define my hair and you can see how the results again are different. My hair really dries depending on how i set it all that takes us to december. This is the latest wash and go that i did with my hair. My hair is growing by now, so it is hanging even lower. My hair is as defined because i took my time to define it, but again, if i did not want to have defined hair, then i wouldn't have defined it. What i'm saying is that my hair is a chameleon at this point. It looks different based on what i want it to look like, and i actually want to show you a side by side comparison of my wash and go right after i colored my hair to the wash and go that i did myself last year. I think that's actually going to give us a nice comparison to see if my texture is really that much different when you're looking at it side by side like this, i feel like it's even harder to tell is my texture, looser? Is it different? Is my hair lighter or less weighted down because i haven't been using oils and butters? I don't know if my hair is really different because of the color or it's really different, because i stopped using oils and butters, and i really want to say the fact that i haven't used. Raw oils and butters have a role to play with how light, fluffy and ultimately different my hair looks so let me know what you think after watching this video. Personally, i would say my hair is damaged, but the thing is damage is such a range. You know there's damage where you can't even hold your curl pattern anymore. Your hair is just straight straight damaged, there's damage where your hair still has the texture. However, the integrity of your hair has been compromised and i think that's where i am somewhere around there, where my texture doesn't look that much different, but i can let you know that my hair feels different, especially when it's wet it feels like velcro. It'S a different feeling than what i've ever experienced, especially when it comes to dealing and handling my hair yeah. I would say that's the main thing. The good thing, though, is that my hair is growing out, so my natural hair is coming right back out and we'll be able to compare the two textures once my roots get a little bit longer. I do think that my natural hair originally was on the thicker side. The color did take away some of the thickness. I would say, however, we'll see once my hair grows out. I do want to finish things up, though, by saying that i love my hair. I love the color and i love the fact that i am enjoying my hair. No, i do not regret covering it. If anything, i want to continue coloring it until eventually i get tired of it, but i i think natural hair is something that we should enjoy. We should be able to have fun with it. We stay away from so many things when it comes to hair, because we are trying to protect our hair at all costs and the cost is the fact that we don't enjoy our hair. We don't do anything with our hair other than washing it, putting a lot of things in it living in a twist or doing protective styles, which we've discussed, are not protective, and if you want to know why you should watch this video, we just want to protect Our hair and then we don't have fun with it, and it's okay to allow yourself to have fun with your hair, to which its own, of course. So, ladies and gentlemen, i just want to say: enjoy your hair, get it colored go to a stylist. That is really good in the art of natural hair, though don't say, i sent you and your hair got jacked up, go to a stylist who knows how to handle natural, hair and just start enjoying your hair again, because at the end of the day, as long As you're caring for your hair and you're doing all the right things, you have healthy hair habits, then your hair is going to be fine. Thank you so much for watching yet another video. I hope that you enjoyed it, don't forget to hit the subscribe button and the bell, if you made it this far, follow me on instagram tech, talk and patreon when we have great conversations about hair personal development following our goals: yeah all that good stuff. Thank you. So much for watching and i'll see you in my next one bye. You

Edua Gonzalez: Sis can we bring back more of these shrunken fros more often, it looked GORGEOUS on you!

Cheshire Dj: Hey Jenn! Your hair doesn't look damaged to me but only you can feel it, so if you say there is a little damage, I believe you. Your styles still end up looking great.

TheMusicmakesmehigh: You’re hair is beautiful. Not that you asked but, if you do get tired of the light colour, using a toner instead of re-dying it can completely transform your look without the damage.

Nykicia Jefferson: I think your hair was bomb before and bomb now. I absolutely love the color on you. I really hate the fact that ppl feel comfortable enough to have the audacity to message you and say your hair is going to fall out like sis if your hair fell out that sucks for YOU but everybody’s hair is different. I’ve always bleached my hair and it’s just fine as long as I continue to care for it. Keep going Queen!

Neosoul_prima: First and foremost, color will always change the overall integrity of your hair! No matter your texture, it is a deep chemical processing on your hair! What needs to be understood, is that elasticity treatments are definitely important, when you have done that much! Keep up the work Jen! I’ve definitely seen a change in the behavior of my hair, and after 9 months of not using raw oils, we’re good over here!

Gbemi White: Hi Jen. First off, I think your hair is gorgeous with colour. I don’t think it looks damaged as the colour may show off your curl definition more. I think you should consider incorporating Olaplex number 3 into your routine. It’s amazing stuff , especially for colour treated hair and should eliminate that Velcro feeling. Either way, keep doing you & thanks for all the great content.

Reigning Wðmßåñ: Yes! We should have fun with our hair. But we can't have fun with it if we don't love it. I love my hair and I am glad to see you loving yours as well. Our hair is simply amazing and is unmatched in its limitless possibilities of styles and care. Yessss girrrrl, the color is amazing on you! You Go JENN!

Maya: There are degrees of damage for sure and any kind of colouring is going to inflict damage to your hair. Chemicals in the dye change the structure of the individual strands of the hair to let the new colour take hold. In my opinion any drastic curl pattern change is due to the fact the dye is left too long and in the long run your hair reaches its limits and breaks. In most cases people whose hair broke off 6 /12 months into their new colour was because 1) they coloured their hair themselves and over processed it 2) the after care was little to non existant . 3) they didn’t have the hair that can cope with colouring in the first place.

Ossie R: Thank you for taking us through your entire process. Your hair looks beautiful because of the care you’re giving it.

Nicole Alce: Love what you said on exploring our natural hair. I always have the same thought of why always protect it verses wearing for the world to see and for us to enjoy ourselves. I must say I still use oil and butter, but very limited. Great video!

Carol Tichie: I love jennger so much!!! Definitely the coil pattern has loosen, your hair just went under 2 chemical processes it's not going to come out the same. It hangs more than it puffs up. Also the color makes the eyes catch the actual ringlets compared to when it's Black. So we see the definition more. Consider going back to deep conditioning if the texture feels like velcro.

Andrea y: I agree Jenn about having fun with hair. I recently had mine colored and love it!

Chromagens: Chemically altering your hair is I guess damaging it on purpose but I think the idea of damage would be adjusted to consider this new point. What is healthy for this chemically treated hair? Etc. I saw someone say in your comments that by bleaching it you made it easier to do but in my experience (granted it was home colouring) bleaching your hair actually makes it higher maintenance and if you fuck up... Tangles and brittleness galore (when you know you know )

MiVidaBellisima: People have to understand that although bleach/dye is not healthy for your hair, it is only as damaging as the person’s application (dramatic difference between experienced professional and box dye) and how the individual cares for their hair! If you don’t believe that, think about how many hair stylists you know that have dyed and healthy hair- they know how to take care of their hair so it is still healthy and thriving ❤️

Nethania Pierre: Your hair texture doesn't look any different to me. The coils are more noticeable because of the color but that's it. I honestly love the color you have for your hair. (It just looks so good, especially with your skin).

Thembani Shiburi: I love seeing you enjoy your hair, learn and share the journey wow Jenn

Christy: Omg we protect our hair at the cost of not enjoying it, GOLDEN! We need to explore !

Sam I Am: This is why I love your channel... full transparency... absolute self-love while respecting others for their differences of opinion. I like the color on you and yes... we should enjoy our crowns... whatever that means to each person... you are certainly loving on and enjoying yours ! I spent several years (10) experimenting with different colors (similar to yours) and enjoying that journey, also several big chops, all while learning how to care for my hair and what it really needs to thrive... now I'm at a point where I am embracing those sweet silvers that are starting to sprout from my scalp and letting it grow out again. No longer coloring since my last big chop Jan 2021... I do feel that my texture is now different (stronger, thicker, coily-er) and much more defined... I've only done wng's for a full year. Type 4 hair is so resilient and versatile... gotta ❤ it !

Courtney T: Well bleach technically damages your hair because you’re lifting pigment out of the cortex and it is a harsh chemical process, but the hair can still be considered healthy afterwards. Like you said, damage is a spectrum. But your hairs curl pattern is still in tact. The density of it doesn’t look too compromised. As long as you’re nourishing it to the point where it’s not excessively breaking or feeling and looking brittle, you’re doing the right things. I think the natural hair community has an unhealthy obsession with perfection because everything doesn’t have to be seen in rigid binaries: good or bad, healthy or unhealthy, etc. just do what you want with your hair, take care of it as an extension of yourself, and appreciate the journey. It’s just hair. Yours is beautiful btw. Really like the colors you’ve had so far. My curl pattern is very similar to yours. Makes me feel less scared to try color . I’ve always wanted to try blonde.

Shana W: Love the color. You made an excellent point about enjoying your hair!

Barbara Berry: The side by side comparison looks (to me) like you learned better techniques in your wash and go styling the more you did it. I do not see damage in your natural hair, but you would know better than we do. Your hair looks healthy and great. Great content! Keep it up!

Micheiia Murray: Yes ma'am, shut them down! I feel like some people just comment craziness so that you will reply to them‍♀️ your hair looks great even though it's "damaged"❤

Teetee In the house: First and foremost, you’re absolutely gorgeous . I think your hair looks great. I’ve been natural since 2008,I bleach & dye my hair all the time. normally I make my own hair products. Amala, fenugreek, flexseeds, avocado and marshmallow root are my go to items. However I use olaplex and K18 to repair Chemical damage. It’s a little pricey but I only use them before and after I dye my hair. I also add ion absolute perfection to my bleach or dye. Last tip: I never use heat other then a hooded dryer. Heat or color but not both.

Miss T: Your texture looks fab however you rock it, that shrunken fro tho. I stopped using oils and butters some months ago and my hair is definitely lighter and my scalp says thanks, next mission is a WnG next year!! We love your content

Charlotte Roberts: I love your color. It doesn't look damaged to me. We know that any chemical process can alter the state of our natural mane but you are not using heavy products to keep it weighted down or oily. I love it.

MsRouge2000: Your hair looks awesome!! Just go for it and if you get damage just start another journey but live your life

Shaun's Way: Hey @jennj yes it’s a difference in our hair with oil and butters. I can tell when I don’t use oil my hair doesn’t get as dry as it does when I do.

Nikki J _23: Loved every single look!☺️

Karen M: Hair looks great. Healthy hair routines, having fun with hair ✅

Ani Pond: This was such a thorough video! Answered a lot of my questions About the velcro feeling, have you asked your colorist about it? Perhaps that's just how bleached hair behaves or there might be a treatment that can help

Jamesetta Tambah: I love the statement behind this video. Black women need to have fun with their hair. We need to enjoy it.

Miss Behaving: I don’t think color can take away hair density unless it literally falls out from the root or breaks. The color may change how dense it looks or potentially loosen the curl pattern but as hair gets longer, the curls stretch anyway. Please don’t let negative Nancy’s stop you from enjoying your hair.

Janelle Hamlet: Jenn it looks even more enhanced now. Don’t worry. Keep it basic and you should be fine. From one colored hair sister to another. Just make sure to be prompt when it’s time to recolour.

Bones, Guy: I bleached my hair for many years and never had any damage. I wash my hair weekly and steam condition it. I only go to the hair when I have to colour and she was always impressed. I am not sure why people are reacting that way because lots of people have hair colour. Love your hair and it looks fantastic.

1GoldenBreeze: It doesn't look like your hair is damaged in any major way. Every colored coil is beautiful from scalp to end! It still has a lot of shrinkage so if there is some damage it's minor. At any rate, I think the most important thing is that you are enjoying your hair. I don't see what the big deal is about you coloring your hair. We should all do what makes us happy in our lives because we don't have forever. Listen, for me, having my hair hip length is what makes me happy, and I'm not trying to hear anything other people have to say about my choice for my hair. I know it has to be difficult having all the negative comments in your DM's and YT videos but you can't let these negative Nancy's get you down.

Sheryl Johnson: Hi Jenn and fans and followers of Jenn. I have probably watched every hair video on YouTube since 2007. I know “influencers” that many of you never heard of. I know Youtubers before Naptural85 ever thought about YouTube. Well with Naptural85 being the GOAT (greatest of all times. I have been asked what GOAT means, smh), I want to put my nomination for the second GOAT as of 2022 (coming). That channel belongs to Jenn Jackson. It used to be hard, no impossible, for me to get past her intro. But once I gave this chick a chance, I hardly watch any other channel. Jenn gives me everything that I came here for, and to bring in the New Year, I would like to thank her for her content, her honesty, her professionalism, for how she embraces who she is, and for the woman like way that she deals with criticism/trolls for real. Thank you Jenn. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Jenn and fans.

Ossie R: Love the Afro. I’m 71 and wore Afros in the 70’s and through the decades since.

lud d: As someone who has been bleaching her natuaral hair (professionally) for over 6 yrs now, i can confirm that in my case, my hair is definitely damaged hahahahahahaha, and my curl pattern has definitely been affected. My bleached ends are straight now (and that's driving me crazy hahahahahahaha), but my new growth is nice and curly, the way it's supposed to be. As for the velcro feeling, yeah, i'm familiar with that too LOL. Still, i don't regret any of it, because like you, i believe that hair is meant to be fun, and what better way to have fun than to switch things up? My stylist and i have now decided that we're over the blond and the bleach, so no more for me, but i will still be colouring my hair hahahahahahaha (currently a red head). Enjoy this new journey you're on. The colour is fab . Also, dyeing your hair is like getting tattoos: once you start, you can't stop

LASHONDA JOHNSON: Hey friend! I appreciate you keeping us up on game with all your informative videos! You rock!

Louanne Lively: I love the colour. I think you look gorgeous with it. I think it complements your skin tone so you do you.

Latasha Pannell: TBH when I did all the things to my hair like relaxing, heat, and braids for three months or more I hated my hair and had no idea how to care for her. Now (past 1 1/2 years) that I don’t use raw oils and butters, heat, relaxer, permanent color (which I never have n all my 41 years), or leave braids n longer than four weeks I have NEVER loved my hair more. She is retaining moisture and length and has never looked so good.

Dynisha Z: Great video!! I’m with you on that girl, have fun with your natural hair!! Enjoy it!!

Natasha: I love your hair texture. I love type 4 hair ♥️

TheVideoGamHer: Jenn, you are GORGEOUS! LOVE your hair!

Christy: I do know that bleaching raises the porosity of the hair and stuff . And then because the bonds were broken a bit it could be the reason why your hair feels like Velcro and feels less thick. I think a lot of the time when we are used to setting our hair one way we forget that it can literally do so many different things based on technique and figuring that out changes everything !!

Regina Gordon: I went blonde twice and my hair actually broke off and it felt like Velcro. I won’t do it again lol you live and learn.

Sabine Marie: Your hair looks amazing!! And I love what you said about enjoying your hair. What's the point if you never get to see it and touch it and play with it?

Kathleen Adeshoga: Your hair is beautiful! I agree natural hair should be fun! I don't wanna protective style all the time anymore I can retain length without. Great video Jenn! Loved watching your journey

miniminott48: You still have a lot of shrinkage so if your hair is even 'damaged' by the color, it is a slight structural change. When you shingle and finger coil your wash and go results will look more defined than merely raking or smoothing. That is the only difference I see in your wash and go results in the comparison pics. The lighter color also emphasizes your natural, beautiful coils. Just continue to care for your hair as you have been, use Olaplex occasionally and you should be fine. Continue to enjoy your hair and have fun with it. I am enjoying your journey.

Linda B: All I can say is your eye makeup game is ON POINT! GORGEOUS! ❤️

Tehilavictoria: You said the right thing "enjoy your hair" that's what I do now, all this time being scared it got boring at some point . And hair will grow back

use2bscanndalous: Your hair looks great.

Aisha M: If you just wash your hair and leave it to loc it will grow so long and strong no need to defangle. Defanging is an option and is extra work. Your hair looks beautiful by the way ! Very interesting to not use oils or butters. I am staying away from oil ing my hair just like you ! And so far my hair seems naturally oily from the roots cuz of my sebum

Mia Long: Its definitely different because if the color lol i been dying my hair for yearsss and i can tell you yess it changes your texture

154angel154: Bleach did JACK my hair up!!!! I am Not going to lie! I will not stop oils, butters and things! My hair felt too soft when I was bleaching my hair (I had fun with color, but it took a toll on my hair). This internet will have ya bald in these streets...did it to me several times before! Now I just watch vids but I follow LITTLE of what I watch!

Melle Sol: Hair looks healthy to me... The first 3-6 months of dyeing are the most fun... I hope things don't take a turn as you continue to beach and dye ..

Claudia Grover-Cofield: Get olaplex. It builds the bond in your hair.

Apara: Rather it's damaged or not (and no one truly know that but you), it still gorgeous!!!!!! I do agree, I don't really play with my hair either. I didn't even while relaxed. So, now after being natural a year, I'm playing with heat. What's the worst that can happen? I have to cut it? No big deal. I big chopped from collarbone hair to twa. It wasn't as traumatic as I thought . I'll do it again if I have too ‍♀️.

Fretoria Smith: The texture doesn't look different to me I think the wash n go technique makes it look different shingling gives a different look than raking to me.

S Maxwell: Jenn J thanks for this update.. however I can’t tell you have damage .. (not a stylist) but I do luv how you wear your natural hair

Mara: I don’t think you have damage at all, seems like your routine changed

kapparhotau181: Color did loosen my curls a bit but not drastically, I still had pretty much the same texture and coils though. With color, moisture and protein is even more important. For me it was extremely hard to retain moisture with color. The plus was I didn't get as much shrinkage I went from 90% shrinkage to maybe 70%. But I wonder if it depends on the brand of the dye. The stylish I went to didn't put bleach in my hair first she did some kind of professional salon dye mix. She said it had Ammonia in it so she didn't have to bleach my hair first to put the color on. The end results was a dark auburn color and I loved it. Color takes in my hair very well but I have extremely fine hair so I had to give up on permanent dyes becuz I just couldn't retain any kind of length past my ears. Glad they have Hair Paint(wax) and the black owned company Crown Paint Color(no wax), less harsh for fine hair ladies. ‍♀️

ClassyWithIt: I just throw Olaplex on it and call it a day. As you said, as long as you are caring for it, you are good.

psr076: It's hard to tell if has change. I think has a tendency to affect the elasticy of hair . I see a slight difference but maybe I'm wrong. You managed to take care of your hair so I have not doubt your hair will thrive.

Fatu Daniel: The textures are still the same tho. Only difference is that it's colored and no your hair does not look damaged at all

rachel k: I say continue having fun with your hair.

trinkerbell: Your hair is healthy for it to be bleached and colored Bleaching and dyeing your damages it regardless, they open the cuticle to remove melanin within the cortex and create that blonde color. And the dye comes in to fill the cortex. Some of your cuticle layer has been removed in doing this, but your stylist did a good job keeping the health of your hair in tact❤️ your hair isn't that damaged to where the hair has no elasticity so it's still healthy in a sense. what I'm explaining is very summarized just to get the point across

Tee Sulli: Damaged?? That's a strong word. I'm no chemist, but when you apply a chemical process to the hair to alter the structure of the hair, isn't that the purpose?? So yes, the hair strand has been changed and that's the point. So combining the no oils/butters with the chemical process of the color - a perfect combo of fabulousness. If that's even a word.

Eileen Flama: Hey girl, have you looked into semi permanent color?

Kesha Phillips: It's so cute

TLV Lav: Thanks for sharing !

Regina Blackshear: Love it

Dany J: You are right about compromising the integrity of your hair with color. Any coloring service outside of semi permanent/temporary is making a chemical change on your hair. It is intentional damage that cant be avoided to get the result you want. That doesn't mean your hair will fall off. If anything your hair's ability to absorb product might have changed more so than your curls getting looser. If products sat on your hair and turned white and flakey beforehand, they now will actually penetrate since the cuticles are more lifted.

Penny Davis: Your hair looks beautiful but I was wondering how would your hair look natural blowout

TheTwistedLeftie: Soo not the main point of this video but until I started watching natural hair content on YouTube I considered wearing your hair in twists as wearing it out. I’m not sure if it’s a geographical difference or cultural one.

Jay Marie: Jenn what you not about to do is be in my business because I literally just told my cousin we bleaching my hair next time lol

igbani Liz: As natural as henna is I noticed that it leaves my curl looser than in it's natural form. I'm saying henna changes my curl pattern. But I don't consider my hair damaged because of that. And that's what I see that has happened with you colouring your hair. My observation is that hair gets damaged (whether natural or coloured) when you don't care for it. Or when you put so much pressure (tight braids or hair do generally) on it. I must say that I do not like colour in my hair. I also cannot do without oils and butters But it's your hair AND I'm learning from the experiment you're doing with it. Thanks for all the information that your shearing. I truly appreciate you. PLUS you are beautiful and I like you.

Tiffany Silvera: Your hair texture looks the same… lucky for you lol

MiVidaBellisima: The shrunken fro is definitely so much more edgy and so much personality, it is GIVING ‍♀️

Myrtle Smith: I like the black better but you do you girl … love always ❤️

Tees Napz: Its your hair, it you like it...I love it...and everyone should agree!!!

Scrubz.N.Squatz: I don’t think your hair is looser, i think it’s the not using oils and butters, by you coloring your hair your wash n gos just pop. But of course if u put any type of chemical in your hair you alter your strands . But i agree there are different ranges of damage. Continue to color your hair gurl… i love this color on you …. but you can change ur hair to any color and you would look absolutely gorgeous. Do you sissy, PERIODT To all the people who is hesitant of not using oils and butters , i can def say i have stopped using them, it’s going on 2 1/2 months now and my wash n gos look sooo bomb now. This process works it truly does. I’m not just saying that.

Taelyn C: i think a more fitting term for the condition of your hair would "chemically reconditioned". some hairstylists also refer to heat damage as "thermally reconditioned" hair. which would simply mean that the bonds and characteristics of your have been altered by chemicals. damage seems more of a behavior than a look, like if it was breaking off or your ends were splitting constantly.

TLV Lav: Did your curls stay Curley for a long time?

Dany J: I would love to see you color your hair the color of your head wrap. That Burgundy color compliments your complexion so well. The color also goes really nicely with most of your makeup and wardrobe. Just think about it.

Angie S: YES!!!!!

ISABEL BAUZA MARIN: Puedes poner translación para español

Keysia Parsely: Dope

Nikki Gates: This is nikki anderson
