My Hair Accessory Drawer | Organize With Me

My hair accessory drawer is one of those typical problem areas that just won't stay tidy, ever. It's time to set a new system in place and organize all the pieces properly, so that the drawer is functional and as aesthetic as possible. Let's organize!

My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.

On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!

I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.

You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.

Enjoy browsing!

Hey guys welcome to a new video, it's an organizing one today, because I have a problem area in my home, which is very persistent and never really has been addressed successfully. Let'S put it that way. I have tried several different things to organize this area, but it's nothing sticks! Nothing works! I'M talking about this drawer for right here. Here we go. This is where I store my hair accessories. Might small hair accessories so things like Clips, pins, elastics and just anything that isn't a big headband? Obviously I have a lot of that stuff. I am a hair youtuber. I do a lot of hair stuff. This is all stuff that I need for work, so I need to find a good way to organize it at the moment. I only have this one drawer as a designated hair accessory drawer, even though I like to do this for a living having more than one drawer of hair accessories, just feels have been excessive. I also already have this thing filled with hair stuff. I have one drawer of hair products and one of extensions and waves and everything. Okay, I mean there is a lot of hair stuff, so I would love to limit this to won't roar still. Let me pull you closer and show you the situation. So here is what this looks like right now, as you can see, I have tried some things. For example, this little box contains all of my duckbill clips and then I have little boxes here that contain hair elastics and little hair, elastics and bobby pins. But it's just not organized in the best way and then buried under any of this. I have more kind of little boxes, but it's just oh it doesn't work. Obviously it doesn't work. I need to find a way to organize this better. I'M going to sort through see if there's anything I can get rid of, I don't expect there will be much, but still, I think, it'll be a good idea if I pull everything out first so that I get a better view of the actual drawer and everything I have now move on from there you all right, I emptied out the drawer, and this is what I have, and this is what needs to go back feel like. It looks like a lot spread out like this, but many of these things can be consolidated into much smaller containers. So this is all the stuff that I already had in there and then I kinda got sent press package full of hair accessories, which is absolutely amazing. I'M very grateful for it, but all of that means to him as well, and it's quite a lot. I went to the store and I got myself these clear organizers. I got two sets of these. I am also putting my hopes on these small ones. I hope that it'll all fit in peace and I hope that they fit in the drawer. I guess I haven't tried that out. Yet, maybe that's actually the first step I should take okay that'll fix if I take it off the cardboard. That is really nice. I am very happy with that. Looking at the amount of compartments in here, I still think I might actually have to do to your drawers. I could pull in this drawer as well. This one only pretty much contains old, electronics and cables, and things like that, so I might just sacrifice that drawer and decade that to you, hair accessories put back two things. First, that I am certain of that, I will be putting back and using a lot. So that is, of course, my boy pins. I love that these containers are a lot higher so that I can put in more than the new ones. I'M really glad I found these organizers because I need to be able to pull the individual little business. I guess out when I'm filming, I need to be able to take them to the living room or put them up here somewhere. That fits perfectly so next to that little hair elastics all right, and I think I want to use this one for normal hair elastics so like the regular black and brown ones. I also have some like fun, colored ones, but I think I want to keep those separate from the like functional normal ones. Now that one's stretch that one back, I think I'm gon na put fun clips in that way. Like decorated walls like these with pearls or hearts, I'm just going more decorated necklace. So here I have a bin full of golden hair clips. I have no idea I had so many, but I feel like this bin is unnecessarily big for what it is. I think I'm gon na open up the second pack. Oh guys they stack, they stack. I'M saved okay. Okay, in that case, I'm definitely opening the second package, and that gives me so much more room to do this. Oh, oh, I'm! So I'm very happy. I discovered that, ah alright, let's try it then yeah anyone it's plenty, so I think I'm just gon na pop those, oh I'll, see where I put them later. I'M just gon na put them up here. For now, this one is good for all these black clips. For some reason I got like a thousand up. I think I'm gon na dedicate another small little cube to my hair coat. Oh wait! No! The cops need to go at the bottom. I'M gon na put the combs in this one. I have all these little pearl clips. I think I might use one of the small bins for those so that I don't have to twist them back onto this polar every time. I'Ve used them and these can go on the bottom layer because I don't use these in vault and I think I'm gon na dedicate the last small clearing to long black hair elastics. That gives me a bottom layer, very good, very good, happy so far this tool, one over here, I think I'm going to put my hair sticks in there. I think I'm just gon na put this hold on this little hair fork we chose is wrong. I think I can pull all my bows into this big one in the back. Okay, you know what I might actually both put my snood and these flowers in there. I just add these as well and make this bottom layer, because I here use my bows more free realize you must neuter flowers, then I only have this one left and there's quite a bit of stuff still bigger types in general. Okay, I don't think the combs get to have their own entire bin. I'M gon na. Add this thing: hair ripping this cool things. I don't think until the gold accessories - maybe this can go in with the hair sticks as well. That'S not something! I'M use all the time anyway: hair nets, curls soap, donuts on velcro roller bags, and I have some scrunchies. I think the scrunchies and the slope double nuts can go in one bin together and that would go underneath clips alright. So this will thing with the doctor clips, I hope yep, oh, that fits Pat's. Ah, yes, I love. When that happens, and then all there's left is this miscellaneous stuff. I can pop the velcro roller. You know what maybe it's time to just separate this out and actually start using it. I got this in a goodie bag, I believe, and it's a mix of hair elastics and pins and thanks and for some reason, I've always kept it in this little tin and never actually use it, because it's in this separate tuna, not with the rest of my Things so I think this is the moment when I finally start to use this stuff. It also contains some you pins, which I do sometimes need, and I know that I have, but I again I just don't grab them cuz they're in the stick. Then there is this thingy, which is a curling iron cooler, which is really great, but I'm filming hair videos. So it's gon na go in there as well. I'M just gon na put the pearls in with the bows and then last thing is the hair nets, and I really want to separate the hair net from the velcro roller, but they ended up next to each other. Okay, maybe I can get away with like that. When it's separated by the curling iron holder, so here is the end result, I am very very excited we'll have to see how this works when I actually start to use the system, but so far I'm very pleased. So I have in the front here big clips and brace things that you kind of use to just throw your hair up. Then I have kind of regular casual, hair, elastics, small little hair, elastics and all kinds of pins. Then next layer here I have my hair combs, hair sticks and other kind of alternative hairstyling items. I guess you could say this is a little bit full of sparkly gold accessories. Here I have little pearl twisties and these are all other hair elastics that aren't your normal kind of typical hair elastic here, my little hair nets, the curling iron roller and the velcro roller. For my bangs, this is the container of duckbill clips that I use for. Pin curling band behind here I have this bin full of these little separating clips this bin. The other side contains all my bows and kind of more flamboyant accessories. I guess this one contains scrunchies and sock Donuts and the last bin back here pulls my nude and some hair flowers. So I was able to fit everything in here and there is even a little bit of room to spare. So I am very, very happy with where we got today. This is definitely much more functional to me. I hope at least it looks much more functional than what I had before anyway. That was a very successful organizing session. I am over the moon with how this turned out. I wasn't expecting everything to fit into one drawer. I was pretty sure I'd have to do two drawers which I might still do in the future, so that I didn't have to have a double layer. I'Ll try to live with this for a while see if it's acceptable or not, and if not that I can always, you know, make those changes after all. I really hope you enjoyed this little organizing video. I always really like watching these, so if you did enjoy to give a thumbs up and subscribe for lots, more beauty and lifestyle contents, if you'd like to support me through patreon or my merch throat I'll, be links in the descriptions. But I thank you so much for your support. There is a video here, so I think you might also enjoy it and go watch next. Thank you for watching and I'll see you guys soon in my next video bye,

Nathalie Schumann: When she went “Guuuys, they stack!” I literally went “Woooow!” Small things can make us so happy.

Christen Szajner: There is something so relaxing and motivating about watching someone organize something in fast forward. Lol.

Shivani Sujit: It's so satisfying when it all just fits together!!

G_evie: You should put the string of pearls in the small container with the pearl twists! All matchy matchy like

Chasing the Look: Shot glasses are also a great size for organizing hair accessories

suzie: Can u do a must have hair accessories edition ✨pls

Pandalvr26: you could put the hairnet in the tin that had all those pins and elastics

Derrick Jennifer Watkins: I totally felt your heart give a little skip when you realized the containers stack. I'm the same way! Love your videos, thanks!

Julie Kozlowski: I'd keep those hair pins in that little metal container separate from the bobby pins. Great organization. I have issues with my hair accessory drawer also. It never stays organized.

Rachel Frumkin: I love it. I might have to get something like that. I have a very small space for hair accessories and the fact that they stack is amazing.

Viktorya Rose1995: I love organization videos xoxox I used to be very unorganized because I was raised by somebody who's very unorganized.. I never knew organization could make your mind so calm and relaxed

Siobhán K.: So nice when your organizing plan works out. I also love watching someone clean and tidy, and organise!!!! x

Tovah Goldfine: Put the hairnet in the little tin, then it will never touch the velcro roller.

Universal Hobo: Your glasses are so cute!!

Celeste Chong: Just a suggestion - depending on how much you use your hairnets, you could store them with your pearl twisties to separate them from your curler :)

Kodie Trahan-Guay: I just sorted through my hair accessories yesterday! I went with a couple clear jars to store things by type and then a small bin for all my bigger stuff.

Chris S.: Well done! It sure is a good feeling when you overhaul a faulty system into one that works!

Unsound Orca: You look so nice in red! This has really inspired me to organize my mess of hair things lol. You have such a nice collection!

mce1939: Looks great! Fun to watch!! I believe hair accessories can last a long time, and what was out of fashion comes back into fashion. I love doing my hair and I still use some of my hair accessories from the 80s to this day! I am super organized and use similar containers to these-they are clear acrylic containers in many sizes and can stack and can be arranged for varying drawer/cabinet sizes. If you're in the U.S., I got mine at Container Store. They have the best organizing tools!

Cheeza Rose: I so love these organisation videos ❤️ Didn't know Hema sold these organisers, thanks for the tip

Darkhorse3211: Thank you for this! I’ve needed ideas on some storage for hair accessories. Loved this!

Tristan Rose: I love cleaning, organizing, and even decorating videos!

Tiril Fuglerud Edvardsen: The level of relaxation this gave me is out of this world

Emily Lanier: That looks sooo much better! Glad you got it organized the way you like it ;)

Aoife Ryan: Hot damn Lucy you did it again! Another wholesome video I'm so chill now but also TIME TO GO REORGANISE also congrats on the new car, well ware x

yvaine yvaine: Love the video (as always). What if you put the net inside the roller? I just had the erge to do that when I saw it so I thought I'd mention it in case it is usefool for you.

Iris L: This was both relaxing and inspiring.

John Reynolds: Congratulations, it looked very organized. I think a small zip-lock bag will hold the hairnet and prevent it from catching on Velcro, brushes, etc. , Also it takes up no additional room in your drawer.

K.: To keep the net and the velcro separated you could slide the bottom row to the side and put the net on the other side!

Julia Miller: Hey Loepsie! I'm going as Claire Danes from Romeo and Juliet (her angel costume) and I was wondering if you could recreate her makeup and hair? Thank you so much!

Candice Waller: Those drawer compartments really help! Suggestion: could the curling iron rest maybe live with the actual curling iron? And perhaps the hairnet could go live with the wigs and extensions? It just seems that things that go together should be stored together, you know?

Katie Duncan: Organizing videos are the most satisfying I did this with my hair accessories and makeup last month. I needed a lockdown project :p
