Hey it's jackie and welcome back to my channel for a series of 90s hairstyles. If you enjoyed this video make sure you give it a thumbs up and if you're new to my channel, i post pop culture tutorials every week, so whether that's recreating an iconic look from tv and film, or going back and trying out some styles from different decades. That'S what i post here if that sounds interesting to you, make sure you hit that subscribe button and ring the bell notification, so you don't miss an upload and i love it when you guys tag me on instagram when you try out any of these styles. So i can feature you it's my favorite thing to see. You switch up your style with confidence and let's get started with this. First look: let's start with this modern 90s ponytail that, i think, is the most frequently worn 90s inspired style right now. So my version is for thinner hair because for this look to appear put together, i do a couple extra steps, because once i brush my hair tightly, it looks more sparse than like thick and luscious. So once i've created a side part. I like to use this unbelievable from l'oreal, because i find it's so much easier to blend out into the hairline than powder and it doesn't look patchy in comparison to some of the eyeshadows that i've tried to use i've applied in a couple of streaks. And then i'm blending out - and i applied this more to the lighter and thinner hair to fill out the hairline and once we comb it backwards. It doesn't look as sparse, as i was saying, and then section off right before your ear on the side, with more hair and we're gon na put the rest up into a ponytail. When i toss my hair up, the ends look quite a bit thinner. So i like to apply a three clip weft of bellamy extensions. This just adds a bit more volume, but it does still look natural. I'Ve combed the hair up gathered it into my hand, at the very top of the crown, excluding that first piece there and i'm adding in a strong elastic. I gently tug the back of the elastic upwards a bit so that the ponytail kind of spurts up a little bit more once i've tightened it next. I divide that front piece into two and i slick back the first piece to smooth over the front section and then i pin under the ponytail and then i smooth the very front section over my forehead slightly giving it a bit of a bend. And i apply a high hold hairspray. This one is my absolute favorite, it's the bamboo fiberful big hairspray from ogx, and it really locks in the hair. If you're in an indoor setting wearing this style, i like to just use hairspray and then bring the rest of the hair upward to the top of the ponytail and i'll wrap that around the base. Along with that first piece, we pinned underneath this way. I don't have any bobby pins disrupting how smooth it is, but if you're going to be outside and there's like wind, then you would want to add a bobby pin or two around the side area and there's my version of a 90s inspired pony. That, i think, looks flattering with my hair type and then i'm curving the ends with a straightener going upwards and we just want some bend to the hair to polish it off. You can do this inwards or upwards and there's the completed. Look that i finished off with a black silk top big gold, hoop earrings smokey eyes and a nude lip and throughout the video i am wearing four different shades of the buxom full force. 90S nude collection, and this shade is heartthrob. And let's move on to look two, which is a claw clip hairstyle that works great on long hair if you have shorter or medium hair, you can literally just twist the back of your hair, put in the clock. Lip and you'll have that kind of pineapple spiky effect, but with long hair it flops over does not stay put. So this time we are going to start with the hair in the ponytail and you can style the front of your hair like the first style. We did that's what i did in the city shot here or i really like to have a sweeping look with shorter pieces kind of like cher, from clueless inspired and on the under layer. I'M picking up a small section and twisting it to make it shorter. And i'm pinning this right against my head with bobby pins. You want this to be as flat as possible and i'm separating it two pieces out to make them different lengths and yeah bobby pin this tightly and then the layer on top. You want it to have a bit of a tease, and you want this section to be thick enough, that your twist won't peek through the hair. Just lay that hair over top and pin underneath the ponytail at the back and do this on both sides. And once you have the pony gather it in your hand and create a half bun shape fold that upwards and now you have much less length and the weight of the hair isn't going to be solely on that claw clip because we have the ponytail. So it'll stay put, the hair should stick right up and then, of course, secure with your claw clip this one is from vergegirl.com, which is such a cool 90s inspired site, and so is this top most of the pieces from this look are from the site. So i'll have everything linked down below and then i messed with the bun. It created more texture and, with that high hold hairspray, i've been using i'm making sure to separate those top pieces, giving it more of a pc 90s look and the finishing touch with those shorter pieces is to curve them inwards. Of course, if you already have shorter pieces in your haircut, then this is much easier. You can just leave out some face framing pieces, but if you do have long hair like me that doesn't have any shorter pieces or layers, then this is how i achieve the style in a creative way. I so love this style and this velvety top and because it's also girly, i wanted it to be a bit more grunge. So i went with a deep eye and also a deep lip, and this is the shade angel from buxom. Next up, we have a young, britney or baby spice vibe with these two tiny pigtails, and i wanted to do a throwback with a subtle zigzag part which i totally used to wear in the late 90s and early 2000s, simply use the end of a comb and Create a diagonal line and then switch directions in the opposite way, and i did this three times then section off two tiny pieces to frame the face and comb back. The first section of hair about to where the first zigzag ends and use a small plastic elastic to secure the tiny pigtail you can secure these pigtails farther back. If you want, i like to have mine a bit more forward before i used a straightener, but i do find my hair keeps a bend longer with a curling iron. So that's what i did this time added a bit more curl to the pigtail. So it stands out a bit more in the hair, and there is this simple look paired with this cute purple. Cardigan i've been seeing this a lot on tick tock and on instagram, and it reads more 90 to me with shorter hair. But it's super cute at any hair length and this is a subtle way to wear pigtails and it's so cute we're going to do braids backwards like in this bella, hadid hairstyle - and i did this makeup tutorial and a lot of you asked for the hair tutorial. So this is, for you guys, first divide the front section that we're going to be working with forward and make sure the rest of your hair isn't going to get intertwined with the braids, so just apply an elastic bag there and the type of braids we are Doing are lace dutch braids. I did three sections on each side of my head and once you have a section nicely divided pick up three small pieces from the hairline and i find it's easier to just pick up the piece from the top of the part and add it into the dutch Lace braid each time, and you only need to do this three or four times and then gather the hair. That'S left from underneath up into the elastic i'm going for a slightly looser appearance to these braids. And hopefully you can see what i did on this one and i'm so sorry that my scalp is dry. It'S not the cutest thing just to see close up, but the style was so requested in the bella look and how i blended in the wig last time is. I did the braids a little bit longer and then push them forwards and see where i'm putting an extension in. That was where i put the base of the wig, and then i tightened the braids by adding the elastic right at the base of the um wig or extension as i'm demonstrating here, and then i give a tease to blend all the hair together and then i Used a root, touch-up spray to change the color of the braid to be dark like the um wig. So if you haven't seen that tutorial, you're - probably like what, but it was really requested and um. I wanted to demonstrate with an extension, but of course you can totally just finish off the look with your regular hair and i added some butterfly clips to bring in some of that 90s nostalgia. If you're looking for a 90s makeup style to go with these hairstyles, we have margot robbie as naomi from wolf of wall street. That'S a great tutorial to complete the looks, and maybe you love 90s britney. So i also did a baby one more time tutorial, which is great for halloween, but also the makeup is very wearable and quite similar to the first style i was wearing. So i hope you'll keep on watching and let me know which 90s look was your favorite

Kiley Will: Hey Jackie! Idk if you’ve seen the new Netflix movie “Enola Holmes” but Millie Bobby Brown wears so many gorgeous but versatile hairstyles, and they would all look so gorgeous on you, and would make a great vid! Her hair has a mix of Little Women/Tuck Everlasting vibes

hanabi’s home: My mom always did the 2 little pigtails on me when I was little. I think all of my school pictures have them, and I still wear them! We always call them “puppy dog ears,” maybe because I was little haha!!

Cookies Are Delicious: People with straight hair who get to do all these fun styles are so lucky lol

trishdadish82: Butterfly clips were everything back in the day.

smell me eve.: oh my god jackie!! i was literally planning on recreating a full 90s look inspired by your makeup tutorials and a hairstyle matching, and then you came with this in the exact same day!!! i love all of them and you look GORGEOUS as usual

coldenburg1!: Once my hair gets long again, I'll definitely try some of these! Quick question though, have you already done the eye makeup from this video? Because, if not, I NEED IT, it's so cute!

Reinhardt: Most of the 90s clothes and hairstyles that are making a comeback now days belonged to the teenage youth of the 90s. The clothes and hairstyles for the adults in the 90s were a different story lol

Hannah Fulks: I LOVE the hair tutorials! I have been getting bored with my hair lately, but don’t want to do anything permanent! These looks are so cute and different!

Gabi-bibi-hobi: AMOOO seus penteados , são tão perfeito Sou sua fã

Spacey San: Thank you! Finally, after many years of trying to crack the secrets of the second hairstyle, you managed to help me out! Now the clip actually holds my hair more than 50 seconds :)!

Life with Rahma: LOVE THIS SO MUCH ♥ Especially the low messy buns ♥

Flerida: The 90s pony (look #1) is so good and seemed easy to recreate. The makeup works so well with the hair and outfits!!! Naomi, Cindy & Claudia

Brooke Heenan: They look so good! So simple and easy too, well done again Jackie!

Trendy Talia: Oh wow, you look stunning! All of these hairstyles are beautiful. Great tutorial, Jackie! My favorite hairstyle was the first one.

Lucia Fayad: All of these hairstyles are gorgeous, love them and love how much work you put into every video

Black Dressy: I think she is extremely beautiful so everything she uses will look amazing, I especially remember the look of the “ blue lagoon” (I guess that’s the name) that was an amazing look and she looked really good in there. Keep the videos ‘cause they are really good girl, you are really talented. And thanks for sharing that with us Xx

Frances Gaxiola: Yass sis bring me back to the 90’s! I stay rocking these look sooo cute

YouTube Account: Can you pleaseeeeeee do a tutorial on this makeup look? GORGEOUS!

Homemade Delicious Cuisines: Hey Jackie You’re so talented love your makeup and styles ✨

Jessica: My mom used to do those hairstyle on me, I loved the zigzag parting ❤️

Kiara Carbajal: Loved them all Thanks Jackie! ❤️

Da Asha Zireael: I love that vintage and retro is coming back into style. I am almost 30 and i was always too afraid to dress how i wanted. I did it a bit but not to the level of extra i do now. I guess i just don't care now that im older. Its great because you can dress vintage on a budget if you know where to go. And make your own stuff! It's just so much more available now. I just hate that people have been overcharging just because it's the in style thing now.

Dont call me Ani: Wonderful hairstyles! My favorite were the first two. Thank you for the makeup tutorial recommendations, I just did the brittany makeup with a brown lip and I love it!

Just Fiona Cat: AMAZING. I remember butterfly clips, I used to use them on top of my head when I wore a bun with a denim jacket!! Totally old school cute.

Alycia Consuelo: so nostalgic, I love it! Would love to see more nostalgia. Maybe some throwback Disney Channel looks. I love Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place

Komerican10: Omg. I did these hairstyles in high school in the 1990’s! I graduated in 1998, so yes I’m old lol

Vinna Tupas: I’ve been looking for a channel that does hair styles for straight hair too for YEARS you are a blessing❤️❤️ most tutorials I see always require a curling iron

Aly: She is so talented! Her hair tutorials have helped me learn how to do my own hair and make it look pretty. Ily!

Lana Teramae: Cute!!! I don't do the zig-zag part well cause I didn't know that was a thing lol, but I love the small pigtails! I've been doing them more recently and I think they're perfect for young adults because they're cute, but they're mature in a way!

Fab Fabi: Hi Jackie, could you please do a Katherine Pierce look from TVD? That would be amazing!

ChiTownGal: I'm totally rocking the butterfly clips in my 6th grade year book photo lmao love this video, and love that the 90s are back!!

Annika: Your videos brighten my day so much Jackie!!! I love your channel, could you some Halloween transformations?

Hokuspokus: Wow, I can never guess how you did the hairstyles, then I'm like 'oooh!" You've so many tricks! I really loved the second style, it's like 90s casual glam and I can't wait to try it. The timing is good because my quarantine hair is as long as yours now and I want to make the most of it before the big trim. That last hairstyle was so me back then, even down to the clips, I wonder if I can still pull it off. Great video Jackie, stunning makeup too!

HaydeecantaDios.: Ahh I used to do the braid one all the time in the 90 was my favorite then and I still do it once in a while but now that in style I’ll do it again love your channel on of the best on you tube on hair make please keep doing them! We appreciate all your hard work!

Rain: The biggest difference is that bows were super thin back then, so the finished looks end up looking current just from the thick, super structured brow looks of now. The thing is, hair styled well is almost TIMELESS. Even the old pinup styles of the 1930's -'50s can be worked into a look.

Katelyn Kristine: would you be willing to show us how you did these eye looks? They are all so amazing!

Mia del día: I LOOOOVE the earrings on the first look! Also love all the hair styles

grace gunn: Love this video!! Just Love Love LOVEEEE❤️All 5ese hairstyles are amazing!! I’ve been trying to do the claw clip hairstyle but the clip wouldn’t hold that trick with the ponytail ahh that’s going to help a lot aha
