For anyone who saw our last Daddy 'Do hairstyle {Four-Twist Ponytail} you may note that my husband showed a feather headband that could be used to accessorize his style...

Well, I was recently with my friend Jenny {http://www.youtube.com/ShowMeCute} and she showed me how to make feather earrings and in exchange I showed her how to make these feather headbands... they look awesome!

Feel free to tag your own photos of this headband with: #CGHFeatherHeadband

Here, I show you all exactly how to make a feather headband just like it. It is very simple, and far cheaper than anything you can buy online! Enjoy!

Hey everyone., I'm Mindy from Cute Girls Hairstyles, and I'm going to show you how to do this cute feathered, headband for dirt cheap.. So every knows they're really popular this season, and this is one that I purchased off Etsy, but I paid way too much money for it. And then afterwards, when my really good friend Jenny came out, we figured out how to make them together.. So I'm going to show you how to do it. Today. Now, for those of you that don't know my good friend, Jenny has a channel called ShowMeCute, which you will absolutely love.. I learned how to make these uber cute feather earrings with Jenny., And if you watch some of her videos she's the craftiest person I have ever met in my entire life.. I have learned hundreds of things from her over the years that I've known her. And if you watch her videos, a lot of painting she does on the walls. Are my girls' rooms downstairs since we just finished our basement., So go check it out., It's ShowMeCute.. I think you'll really love it. OK.. Now to do the feathered headbands, you are going to need some fabric scissors, a glue gun with glue, and then you can go to Michael's, Hobby Lobby or Jo-Ann's or any local craft store.. I got mine at Hobby, Lobby and Michael's.. This is what they look like in the package., This one cost 2.49, but they often run specials and sales or coupons.. So if you want to shop cheaper than that, look for some of those.. So these are some of the ones. I also got from Hobby Lobby that I've already put onto the headbands. Super cute.. This one on my left is a pheasant and the one on my right is from a guinea., So go figure. And the one I'm going to do is a duck. Poor, little quack quack.. So what you do, is you open it up? Take it out of the package. And what you'll see is that they already have the feathers all nicely glued onto a piece of fabric for you.. So it's a total cheater method.. This is crafting 101 -- very basic., So I have taken a piece of felt.. You can pick this up at Walmart Target or any craft store. They're a quarter for a sheet. This size. And I have cut out a piece. That'S a teardrop shape to match the back of this.. You see that We're going to put it right, on. OK.! So then, you're going to take --, oh and also headbands.. This is the tag they came in.. They were just like this when I bought them and there were three in a package. And I believe they were 2.99. Again often they're, half price on their sales.. So take the headband. And you kind of have to figure out where you're going to place it.. You can do this by just slipping the headband on your head.. Take mine off., And you want to kind of start it --. You want the edge of the flower to land right about the top of your ear, so just kind of mark it.. It'S usually about two inches up on the headband.. Then you're going to take your glue and you're just going to squeeze glue up about four inches onto the headband, take your feathers and put them on. OK.. Now this is the only part where you might sizzle your fingers. If you're not careful., Try to use the underside of the feathers to glue that just in place -- that bottom half. And when that's kind of staying on a little bit, then you can just take the glue gun again and run it up. The rest of the way. OK., So now you have your headband, basically glued onto the feathers.. Now that's kind of ugly.. You wouldn't really want to leave it like that., So I'm just going to dollop some glue on either side and take my little fabric swatch, that we cut out of felt already and lay it right on top and push it down.. Now, we've just done the middle.. This is just going to secure it on the headband too., Then you're just going to lift up those edges. Go all the way. Around. Then push the edges, down. Switch to the other side. OK., Lift it up. And then push it down. And then right here. I just like to add just a little bit of extra just to secure it. Oo, Ouch ouch ouch.. Don'T do that., Don't stick your fingers in the glue. OK. When that's all secured on there tight. You can pull off your extra little stringies. And there you go., You have a cute little them ready to go into your hair like so., And there you go -- feathered, headbands., Probably about $ 4. I think, is about the total cost.. So cheap cheap cheap. Have fun and enjoy

Freya Jones: cool!! they are so fashionable!! every 1 would love them!! the only thing is i don't have any equipment for that :( i might not be allowed to buy a glue gun and all that :( is there any other way of doing the head band thing???

Kawenoffee: U know what, Mindy? Ur daughters can really make and sell these things and other accessory crafts. That would be really good for fundraisers and stuff. Basically the thing I wish I did a few years ago for elementary school. It would be awesome :D I would buy ';)
