Hello, lovely people. Today'S avenue honda message is to create a DIY gift for someone special, i decided that someone special is myself both because loving oneself is important, the design particular and special. I can call myself that, and it made a video to tell you whether you can too it's in the card above this video is sponsored by scotia, and today i'm going to be taking you through making three ultra christmas eve, DIY hair pieces and for fun hairstyles. That you can do with them. I was inspired to make this video both because i went to see last christmas and spent entire film staring at the leaf characters, festive headbands and because i've been spending a lot of time, browsing Skillshare recently to get inspiration for crafting and to learn some new skills. Those who don't know Scotia is an online learning community targeted at creatives, whether on the amateur or professional level. The tutorial videos on the site, known as classes cover a wide range of skills, but also our whole spectrum of abilities. We'Re talking business find out graphic design. The list goes on and on. I'Ve personally found their creative writing course, particularly interesting as they cover just so many essential skills that are gon na help strengthen a story as well as any characters within them, and I'm very much into writing my fiction. It'S such their storytelling 101 was really great and the writing authentic fiction classes. Those were really good too, and they have closed captions on all of the Scotia originals and staff. Pics videos read lists and videos on flower crowns, which obviously helped me a lot today. As a member of the Scotia community, you also have the chance to give and receive feedback on projects through the creators community, which can be a really huge help to anyone, who's, learning, a new skill or improving on an old one with Premium Membership comes the benefit Of unlimited access to all courses on their website, meaning you can find the course and the community that work best for you whatever it is. You love to do whether you want to fuel your curiosity, creative deals, even your premier, you should join the set million-plus people. Currently, using Skillshare to further their skills, Scotia is giving away a free two months. Unlimited access trail to any of my subscribers. You click the link in the description box and after that, it's only around $ 10 a month. It is genuinely worth it. What you'll see is they make my very own Christmas flower crown technically has no flowers, it's just a christmas crown. I just wanted a crown. My childhood home had a huge fireplace. The ceiling of my living room was probably 14 feet high and in the middle of the room, was a fireplace wide enough for six people to warm themselves around above. The fireplace was an antique, cast-iron double wall, light in which we put candles and let stand alone as mantelpiece decoration, but in winter every year, with the trimmings from the Christmas tree, my parents would let me create elaborate, decorative foliage sculptures with wire and greenery above the Mantel - and it was one of my favorite parts of Christmas decorating, but since they moved house, I haven't had the chance to flex my wire and fir tree muscles. So I am very excited to be making this. Now. I measured my head and snip some wire to length later realizing. I should have made it twice as long. I lapped each cutting halfway over the next and tied a knot with a while even a little extra for two ends, so there could be tied together. Next add in my chopped up fake mistletoe fYI, your mistletoe is poisonous, though do better in mind. If you're working around small animals, which I title using some lovely gold wire with freebies, I picked up a hobby craft couldn't even link in the description, along with some other crafting supplies that I used in the video since the wire so thin. This part was really quite thank you. I genuinely have the best line playing with wire, so I mean I just had to get great time. Finally, one side woven mistletoe in all the way around the crown I considered putting these red-hot berries on it, but then Coco Chanel rains be back in take off the last thing you put on, so we skipped those and I would say it was a success. I am really pleased at this little crown it's the first flower crown and adjacent thing I've ever made, but I think it turned out quite well. So thanks to Skillshare for the crown tutorial for this piece, I really wanted to build upon one of my favorite winter. Hairstyles the vintage bro. I don't tend to wear my hair up much during the wool months, but I think it's lovely during the festive season. Probably no strange, that's been your neck. I love fancy house lights, but I used to don't get enough wear after them. So having one that only lasts a few days, it seems like a great unsustainable answer. I had a couple of plain stripes lying around again, I think similar in the description, so I just wanted to jazz them up for the season and, yes that does me using a lot of wire again because wire is my friend remember to keep that wire tight As you twisted round, I once made it meter long start a bamboo cane decorated with pre trimmings to hang above the fireplace, and it was essentially a Christmas breeze in the shape of a huge star. They didn't quite tie it tightly enough to its mooring that it felt the wall always smacking me on the head. I mean I say that, but we did smack me on the head. I have memory loss. Genuinely anything could have happened to me to get this. Look. First, follow the hatchet or like linked in the card above and then simply slide your grip into place, wan na beautiful and finally, this look is deceptively simple and really quite cute. It uses just your average everyday hair, slides or curvy grips new Americans. I'M a fan from MACT kind grab two clips, some fake Holly and a bit of Bush clip a long length of wire and tie the two grips together. We'Re going to be attaching things to the top half of the grips, but having two together obviously makes them much sturdier, once you've finished, wrap around the grip use prettiman to finish off the end. If you want to make sure you leave the curved edge of the grips free at the back, so that you can just slide into a third grip which would be the one that actually attaches the piece to your hair. I hope you've enjoyed this video. Quite a few of you asked for crafty, DIY and hair related things when I posted about vlogmas a few weeks ago, so I really hope you've liked what they have made, which one's your favorite, the Christmas crown the Holly slide or the very grim remnants kryb. We haven't already click the like button and make sure that you try Scotia using my link in the description I'll see you tomorrow for another vlog, this video lovely three, it's been slowly, so I don't bomb it yeah. That'S there cuz, I got ta happen really soon and then it we stopped filming this video focusing on Jessica. I know it's lost their face. There we go

Preston Lee 🥄🌈: Jessica, this is in no way meant to sound like I’m hitting on you but I absolutely love your voice, and even though I can’t see, you sound very beautiful :-) you and Claudia are awesome and very adorable and I really hope I am able to find someone that will be as awesome and understanding and supportive as Claudia is with your struggles :-)

Ruby Granger: I can't wait to try these! I'm definitely going to try making the festive hair slides! x

Homun System: not gonna lie i legitimately laughed hearing "curly grips, for you americans" because i have never heard them called curly grips in my life. so cute lmao. what a wonderful craft idea.

donna brown: I make things like this for my daughter's hair every year around Christmas lol Thanks for new inspirations, I especially like the crown.

therealqueenk: I'm American and actually had to look up "kirby grips", I guess it comes from a different place in america cus I've always called them bobby pins xD

Malevolent Raven: So lovely to hear Clara's voice there at the end. It's been a while since I've seen her in one of your videos and I must've been missing her!

Britischen Adligen: My favorite feeling is when I'm watching Jessica's video and then I get a notification she just uploaded a new one! So smooth ❤

Pluto: I’m totally making my girls a crown for Christmas! Thank you for this. I suddenly have many ideas floating around in my head for hair accessories and this gives me an idea for that old wreath in my closet that no longer lights up but for some odd reason I can’t bring myself to throw it away!

Kelly S: You’re classy and lovely, you wear a foliage based hair accessory and it looks adorably festive. If I tried to pull off this look, people would think I’d had a bad fall into some shrubbery.

Roman Hall: I really like the middle one that went into your furled updo, that one seemed the most natural and elegant and classy

Heather B: I love everything about your videos, but I'm particularly enjoying the outtakes/ gag reel clips after these vlogmas videos.

Holoragium Mediocris: Your christmas vlogs are so peaceful and relaxing I love them

Colette Lee: Clara! I miss her. More Clara content please ☺

Shala Carter: Hi Jessica! Hi Clara! I really love this video because I used to work in a flower shop and so I love anything to do with wire and foliage. I am currently working on three different reads. So I won't have any done by the end of today to share on Instagram. But I think just working on them is enough? Right? Lol XO

aestheticallyaspiring: This looks like so much fun! I really love the crown, deff want to try one of these

Hannah Kistler: Random question: how long does it take for the advent candle to burn down to the next day?

PhoebeFay RuthLouise: I have a great love of flower garland crowns! And yet, it never occurred to me to make a garland crown with pine branches! I love it when I learn something new! And I totally relate to how much fun it is to craft/play with wire!

Amber Gaillard: I feel so inspired, thank you Jessica!

PhoenixInLove: I really like the grip/bobby pin one especially, since is seems small and relatively easy!

catsandstrawberries: So cute! My favourite was the hair slides! Makes me wish I had longer hair!

shiroi201: The christmas crown is my definite fave!

Monticha Hoff: Love these! Want to make them all!!

Rose: I'm not sure if I'm imagining it, but is there some distortion on the audio today? Beautiul accessories... Wish I could get my hair to turn out so well! ❤️

Kim Wheeler: I totally get the summer long flowing hair/ winter short or up hair thing! In the summer you can just let it flow and it's fine, whereas in the winter long hair down gets in the way of all the layers of clothes... It's in your hood, your scarf, your jumper, hanging out the front of your coat awkwardly. It's just everywhere. Up makes much more sense!

Mortessa: Yes. One more in the comments for bobby pins! These were awesome, thank you for sharing! I love the crown and I think the hair comb is great! You can just take it all apart and still have a hair comb! Genius!

Tricia B: Jessica, I enjoyed your festive hair pieces. Showing how they fit in with different hairstyles. Very lovely

Micky C: I love the Christmas crown!!

Laura Starbrook: Yaaas queenThis is why I love the holly days Please do more omg. You're so adorable ❤️ in them all, The hair adornments look so beautifully natural I'm living I'm so here for this

Rose Coloured Life: I can't wait to make some of these!!

Dianne Martino: The colors are perfect with your hair.

Amelia Ford: These are amazing and I would love to male them but I habe alreast made lemon curd for all my friends... love your videos this year! Xx

Ruth DesJarlais: Lol! No one calls them curvy grips in America. They are Bobby Pins!! adorable ideas!

Pnutty: As someone with severe emetophobia, I truly appreciate that you are so considerate and put trigger warnings before mentions of a certain thing which shall not be named. It's very kind and thoughtful of you and I'm very grateful

FredZoise: YES! What a fun video! I'll need to try this :D

Laura Flores: I'm going to try this for Christmas can't wait I hope it looks as good as you're❤

Vee K: I am so making that crown, allergies or not! So pretty

Lauren Elaine: I was admiring those little poinsettias scattered across your craft table. I would love to see a crown or other hair accessory that includes those.

Alison Barker: Lovely to watch. Doing crafts gives me anxiety, though, so won't be trying it. I liked the 'roll' the best. Very stylish. You looked beautiful. Cheers, Alison.

Daisy Blossom, flower child: I love the crown ❤, however, the hair comb will probably work better for me personally, as it will more likely to stay put in my hair. Happy vlogmas.

Cyn Hanrahan: I think I will make the crown for myself!

Richard Velez: You did a wonderful job crafting your own Christmas flower crown It looks beautiful! As does your hair. The way you styled it was lovely. Using the holly to hold your hair is a brilliant idea. I cannot choose just one style. They each are lovely and unique Thank you for another excellent entry for #Vlogmas. I am thoroughly enjoying each & every video. Christmas season is in full swing. Oh, and thank you for the Skillshare recommendation. I love writing and storytelling and will be sure to check that site out. Take care, Jessica! Lovely as always

fred6059: These are beautiful! You have to make one for your wife! I am quite envious of your beautiful hair.

Rebecca Trecek: I love the hair comb!

Mariah Zeh: Definitely making the crown if I can get my hands on clippings from a real tree

Paris 54: Oh my God I went to see Last Christmas and hated it so much. I was expecting it to suck in a "Christmassy, cliché, boring, fake cheery, giggly rom com" way, but it was totally new levels of terrible. I spent most of the movie having secondhand embarrassment for the director and screenwriter. However, I love your hairstyles, though they are a little too Christmassy for a grinch like me. I'll definitely try a similar look with less Christmassy accessories.

Andromeda Dedalus: Always like before you watch because you know it's going to be good!!

John Reynolds: The wreath looks very nice against the color of your hair.

Antje Guinot: They are so cute I have really short hair right now so I won't do any of them this year but maybe next year ^^

Kim Kaye: I loved the holy slide!

Chris Anderson: My favorite is the slide.

Sidonie Wittman: I love all of these videos so much

Molly Popplewell: Oh no!! They’re ALL my favourite!! What am I going to do!!!

danitza profaca: Cute I really like the second one

Vicki Erhard: Bobby Pins dearheart. I like the second one best. Happy Yule to you both. Happy Christmas Walter and Tillie.

Dani Alyse: Beautiful! I will have to try that hairstyle. Does anyone happen to have the link? I didn't see it in the cut.

KiraLyricalMuse: Loved this video :)

kenkire: Bobby pins love. We call them Bobby pins in the US. You're adorable by the way. I'm so glad I found your channel. Happy Holidays to you and your wife, from me and my wife.

Cat Barefield: Americans in the comments reassuring me that I’m not silly for never having heard “curvy grips” in my life ahahah! To the point that we all heard something different XD curly, kirby, curvy... i call these bobby pins gorgeous hairstyles and accessories as always

Alison Barker: Dear Jessica, thought I'de relay a funny story. I'll prefix it by saying that I found watching you make hair/head accessories very relaxing. Some things in life are meant to be simply observed, I think- like a painting when one can't draw. I digress. A while ago, I was going thru' a stressful time and someone [who clearly didn't know me very well] said to me' Hey, there's this great art therapy class, why don't you try that? To which I replied: 'That sounds great, except that I find art so stressful , that I would need therapy AFTER the class...'

Rebecca Ude: Clara must be the most chill person on the planet! (Unless planes are involved of course ). Her voice is so soothing as she tells you to "spin slowly" so you don’t make yourself ill, (or to make you feel worse), although anyone with chronic illnesses knows that you may be feeling fine; & then BAM! This is why you can find mini-trash bins in almost every room of our house! I know some of you out there relate to this ‍♀️! The show must go on in some instances however! You look beautiful, I never would have guessed you were on the verge of spending time lying on the bathroom floor (that’s not just me right?). Then again, it is amazing how well we can put on an act isn’t it. Sometimes we leave events & I tell my hubby that I deserved an Oscar for the performance I put on. Hope it passed quickly (whenever it was filmed) & you are enjoying your day!!

H S: Americans actually call those "grips" Bobby Pins!

Felicity Gee: I have a Christmas dinner with like abled people coming up, on an unrelated note: I was going to make a wreath for the front door with my gathered foliage but.... Christmas Crown for the win!!!!

Maggie Macha: They were all exceptional, but if pressed I'd have to say the one in the back

Bark Terenius: Thank you so much for the trigger warning! I appreciate it :)

Sonya Gower: Hmm Berry slide or the holly grip are my favorite.

Lunn Oram: Now if only I wasn't horrendously allergic to evergreens, had hair to style, or just all round awkward about weird things on my body...

bhrvt: Great job on all

Lauren Connelly: I hope this isn't too impertinent, but I couldn't find the recipe for the mince pies in the last video and googling for a similar recipe didn't help. Could you add it here? Thank you for the Vlogmas content! Your hair tutorial is lovely <3

ATM: OK, so if you look it up, they are called "kirby grips" in the UK and booby pins in America. Not the other way around.

Sabina Hertzum: I love the concept of skill share - just not the excecution :( I’ve had the two month free subscription and even bought multiple months for myself because I really wanted it to work for me - but it just doesn’t for my learning style... The short form video ‘courses’ just bugs the cr** out of me because it is soooo slow when I want to learn and there is a lot of ‘down time’ in the ‘saying goodbye and hello and recap’ in every video.. so - until they offer a condensed version it’s not for me - but I really want it to be....

Anna-May Moon: I NEED some fake pine and Christmas bits stat! :o

Chronically Fabulous: Did anyone else find the volume of speech vs music a problem in this video? I had to turn it waaay up to hear what Jessica was saying, but then got blasted thru my headphones when the music picked up Jumped out of my skin in the middle of the food court, lol. Otherwise, another fantastic video Can't wait to make some of my own Xmassy hair DIYs!

gizmotheartsykitten: Those little hair pin thing are called Bobby pins here in America. . . Really confused me for a second there ❤️

Chantelle Shipley: Curvy grips... Bobby pins! ❤️

K: Do you mean “bobby pins” I have literally never heard these other ways of saying them

Cecilia Cumpián: Love you!!!

DEAF KSL: 척척!!!!

B: How beautiful human being :3

Minks Rule: We call them Bobby pins in Australia

Bergyn Jackson: You should start adding bloopers in all your videos!

Theia Moon: I would LOVE to read what you're writing. I know. Very private. But that does not stop my curiosity! <3

justabitofamug: Dude I have to try these

Kaylen Jochimsen: I feel a little silly but I can’t find the hair tutorial she mentioned. Anyone else have a link?

Caroline O'C: How do I pick??!!!!!! Maybe the crown?

Kieran Shorten: FINALLY MADE IT TO A VIDEO EARLY !

Belingual: Curly grips for the Americans Bobby pins

júlia inácio: Mais algum brasileiro aí?

life with laurie: we call those bobby pins in the US, sweetie darling.

Tiffiny Lawrie: Am I missing something? I want to see the hair tutorial she referenced for the middle one but it was not in the card or the description...help!

AnnieStrooo: It sounds like something might have went funky with the audio in this video

P VDM: Like all 3

Erica Duncan: Wait what word did you just say? In America it's a bobby pin. Idk what the other word was but I have never heard of that one. The slidey one makes since.

Snappea ASMR: get that coin sis

Unusual Hack Store: Beauty work my 1st cment

Renee Lemay: lol sorry in Canada we call the "curly grips", bobby pins.

Aimee Mcvie: SAME!!!

Karolina M: The music is much too loud for the volume of your voice, fyi

Unstable Zebra: AHHHHHHHHHHHHH IVE NEVER BEEN THIS EARLY

Batmary21: Curly grips??? What Americans say that. Lol

meto ceto: O HOLA YOU PREATTY
