My Hair Care Routine + Easy DIY Hair Accessories // How to Grow Long Hair | SoCraftastic

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmdhzd...

SoCraftastic

https://www.youtube.com/socraftastic

Hey guys, I'm Sarah from so craptastic and today's video is all about my hair care routine. I get asked a lot how I get my hair to grow so long, and I really don't do anything special. But in this video I am showing you the products that I've used, like my shampoo and conditioner, and just the little tips and tricks that I have to get my hair to look like this. Also to stay in the spirit of Cassie Friday. I'M going to include a couple of DIY hair accessories that you can easily make to spruce up your hair for the spring or summer or whatever, if you haven't subscribed to my channel yet, but you never want to miss one of my videos go ahead and click The subscribe button down in the corner right there, and also please give this video a thumbs up. If you enjoy it, one quick question: do you think that the lighting is okay? This is the first intro that I have filmed at night. So I don't know if this looks better or worse than the ones I thought was a day now, let's get into my hair care routine. The first piece of advice is to brush your hair from bottom to top in order to minimize breakage, then tackle any tangles. Very carefully, so you don't accidentally pull out any hairs that aren't ready to come out. Yet. On the days I wash my hair, it's usually quite greasy, which you might be able to tell from this footage here not cute anyway, take advantage of your scalps natural oil by dispersing it from root to tip with the brush that little bit of oil is great And it helps to coat and condition each hair, but I also pour on coconut oil before I shower. This is something I added to my routine a couple months ago, and I notice it really makes my hair look more shiny. I only let this soak in for a few minutes, but if you're able to leave it on overnight, that would be even better by the way I normally spread the oil through my hair after take my clothes off because it tends to get a bit messy now, It'S time to shower all these products that you see are ones I've been using for over a year now, but I plan to start buying more natural and cruelty-free, hair and body products. Once these get used up, you may have actually already seen some of the upgrades. I have waiting on deck in my recent lush haul, but I'd love to hear recommendations from you. If you have any others you normally, I only wash my hair about two times a week. I know some of you might be shocked, and some of you might think that that's a lot this way, though, I'm able to keep it as hydrated as possible, and the first thing I'm going to do when I'm in the shower is shampoo. My hair and rinse. It out completely, then I move on to the conditioner. I actually condition once or twice before I wash my body or once during and then another time after I really put in a lot of conditioner, because I need that moisture and I focus on working the conditioner into the ends of my hair to really focus on Those split parts also it's best to rinse, with warm or cool water, but, to be honest, mine is usually more on the hot side, because I just I really like hot showers here, I'm gently squeezing the excess water from my hair before wrapping it up in a Turbie twist - and it was really really difficult to film myself, so I probably look really really awkward. I got this towel by the way from my mom years ago and I still you I have two of them and I use them all the time. But a better alternative is to use a cotton t-shirt to dry your hair, since it prevents a lot of frizz and isn't as rough on your hair. But this one works. Ok for me, and after about 30 minutes or so depending on the day, I let my hair down and apply a generous amount of heat protectant straight all over well roots. So I don't get too much product build-up on my scalp now it's time for the blow. Dryer, which I do on the warm setting cool, is better for your hair, but it takes a lot longer, especially when you have long hair like me, and it doesn't add as much volume to my hair and I'm all about big hair. So here you see a comb, I'm not combing through my hair, it's not good to comb through wet hair. All I'm doing is just kind of guiding the strand, so my hair can dry more straight and on the rare occasion that I do air dry, my hair, it gets a bunch of wavy patches and usually looks really frizzy. So I like to blow-dry it which takes about 15 to 20 minutes. If I keep it up in the towel long enough, it could take longer, but I do completely dry my hair. This way, it's kind of a pain but feeling damp hair on my neck and clothes for hours on end would make me really sad and cold throughout the day. So I just I cannot walk around with wet hair and if I sleep with it, then I get cold to about once every two to three weeks. I grabbed my pair of beauty, scissors, which are made especially for hair. I go ahead and twist the ends and then I cut off most of those little flyaways to get rid of the split ends you the final step is straightening, which I don't do every time I shower or blow-dry. But for this I use a Remington ceramic straightener. Keep in mind that heat is not good for your hair, so try not to use a straightening iron. Every day I usually like. I said I use mine. Maybe once a week unless I have multiple is then said, I have to dress up four or something like that. It kind of looks straight before I even started this part, but that's because I did a really good job blow-drying and I kind of try to make it straight when I blow dried. But you can kind of see some of the sneaky waves hiding out on this side. That'S it for my hair care, routine, nothing sneaky like hair, serum or vitamins that I take, although I do take a multivitamin every day and I eat as healthy as possible like drink. A lot of water eat a lot of fruits and veggies, and no like soda pop or anything weird like that. But anyway, if you have any questions for me or advice for me, just go ahead and leave a comment below now. For those of you who want to see a couple really insanely easy DIY, hair accessories. You'Ll want to start off with some embellishments such as flowers, and/or, rhinestones, some decorative trim, plain Clips elastic and either really strong glue or hot glue gun. So here I cut off enough trim to fit tightly around my head, and I sealed one end already with clear: nail polish and folded it over and glued it. You could also use fabric or lace instead of trim. Now I'm sealing the ends of a piece of elastic and I'm gluing that to the end of the term that I have folded, be sure to measure this around your head again and cut off any excess length. Then you're going to seal the other end of the trim before attaching the elastic and you're done. I do recommend sewing for extra reinforcement, but if you're in a super bakery, then this should hold up for a while. Also clips can be used to dress up. So many different hair styles from ponytails to poof's customizing, your own, is seriously the easiest thing ever just go ahead and glue any embellishment that you want to a plain clip base. You could also use the same idea to glue things to your headband and make that like a flower crown or something really cute. Thank you guys so much for watching. Let me know what you think of this kind of video, I'm kind of enjoying mixing a bit of lifestyle with a DIY. It makes me feel a little bit more motivated to post when I don't feel like necessarily making a ton of projects during the week. If you're, actually watching on the day that this is posted, I am skiing right now and I'll put a bunch of those clips on snapchat and Instagram. If you guys want to see what I have been up to or what I am up to all my social media links are in the description box below and if you're interested in seeing some of the recent videos that I've posted take the little I button in The corner and some videos will come down and you can click up and watch them. I hope you guys have a great rest of the day and I'll see you very soon. In my next video bye, I have hair reserves. In my lip gloss, my shirts, a liar Buddha, fell dead.

Whitney Sews: The lighting looks great! Really like the setup you use in the intro :)

makoccino: The hair-twisting for the split ends is really helpful! I do that as well! I also started using argan oil for my hair and it makes my hair soooo soft and hydrated! <3 Your hair looks super healthy btw!

SoCraftastic: +7amanda7 I've used Joico before & I think I actually have a bottle left! I'll try using that again & switching the products every so often. I only brush my hair once during the day, so that's a helpful tip as well. Thank you! :) (For some reason I couldn't reply to your comment, so I'm posting this here.)

TravelWell: I'm trying to grow my hair really long, so this video is perfect for me. Love the tip for trimming the ends to keep them neat. :-)

Feona Balansag: Perfect!❤️ I just got my hair done yesterday now I need this thanks Sarah!❤️Chu Chu

JellyBeana Green: I really would love if you had a channel with more videos like this!!

lizziejean: Love this type of video! The lighting looks great too

MaybeMi: Your hair is seriously gorgeous <3

Jolene Nguyen: I love your hair care routine!

Varshika Balachandar: can you do a nail care routine? or just how you grow your nails so perfectly

ava patterson: I LOVE YOUR HAIR! So pretty

Thefranklinfamilychallenges: love this. you go girl!!!!

Maddy M: You're hair is actually my goals it's so beautiful like you!!

7amanda7: Brushing your hair often throughout the day is also really helpful in making your hair grow faster. I brush my hair everytime I wake up, before I shower, I use a shower comb to comb my conditioner in and out, I brush it after the shower, and I brush it a couple to a few times throughout the rest of the day (especially when I'm at work, you don't realize how many tangles build up when you're working, I find the travel brushes in my purse a good tool). Also using sulfate-free (not the store bought stuff!) shampoos are really gentle and conditioning to the hair, and using the shampoos and conditioners for "color treated hair" just means it has extra conditioners for dried-out dyed hair, it works for ALL hair, though. Joico sulfate-free Color Endure has worked the best for me, as well as Kenra Color Maintenance and Joico Moisture Recovery. It's also good to change out your shampoo/conditioner to a different brand every 6 months (I switch off between the three above) so that your hair doesn't get used to the products, it starts to lose its effectiveness. Hope that helps! <3

Comicat Creations: The lighting looked great! I am so gonna have to try that trick about trimming the split ends! I have very long hair too and I don't get my hair cut often so the split ends drive me crazy... also have to try the coconut oil! One thing I realized caused extra breakage was wearing too tight of ponytails or buns... which I guess should've been obvious but I never thought about it since I always wore my hair pulled on top of my head when lounging with small hair ties and once I noticed how bad it was breaking my hair I switched to using the old '90s fabric scrunchies (just in my house lolol) and looser twists and it's helped a lot! Thanks for posting I can't wait to try your tips out! Your hair is beautiful!

brikhouse22: Another tip, if you have long hair and get breakouts on your back clip your hair up after you put the conditioner in so it doesn't hang down your back and clog pores.

Jenny Winslow: I like to use a clarifying shampoo because it gets rid of all of the grease and oil and works really well

angel off duty: Sarahh you're just legit goals Love ya❤❤❤

Laci Nielsen: I love all of your DIY projects

Hattie Chatwin: So glad you are considering cruelty free I'm so pleased society is slowly changing for the better thanks for supporting the cause

Deekshita Saini: hey Sarah I love your videos so much I just love the way you talk and your way of explaining is also awesome

Darkhorse3211: Just to let you know, olive oil is better for moisturizing hair where as coconut oil is for strengthening. I use olive oil as I found coconut oil made my ends too dry. Coconut oil can cause the hair to become too brittle and break, so I do tell people to test this before using it in their entire head of hair. Great video and thanks for the cute tips for hair accessories :)

Cee Cee: Does anyone else open the microwave 1 second before its done to stop the beeping??

Emily Hiegl: I how you're including lifestyle into this channel!!!

Grace Kravis: Could you please do a every day makeup routine

Amber M: I love this video and your makeup is perfect.

Shoto Todoroki: OMG I use everything she uses! The hair twist thing, coconut oil, and coconut shampoo and conditioner!! :0000

LilyBeauty: Your hair is gorgeous!! :)

MrSchirwan: You're hair is beautiful! ♥♥ I love the colour so much!

Rahaa rizvi: your hair is soooooo glossy.love it

Sydni Louie: omg you keep getting more beautiful in each video

ursula1607: I really liked this kind of video. Got some tips for my hair too, thanks!! :)

Today with Willa: the lighting is perfect! i love your beautiful long hair! i'm your biggest fan!

Sophinin: You look so pretty without makeup

Riley Winger: When I had long hair (which I'm trying to get again) my hair got super tangled at the base of my scalp and it was never soft and would always break, what would you recommend? :)

li yingying: Hi Sarah, nice vid :) but may I ask if trimming split ends help in hair growth? Because if didn't seem to work for me

Piper Force: i personally haven't tried this but my friend does this and her hair isn't very soft. It may sound very odd but once every other week or week she applies mayo to her hair before shampooing and conditioning she says it works well and makes her hair softer !

HeyKayHere: Your so helpful and your my favorite YouTuber ❤️

Amrutha Wudali: I love your videos so much !!! You are awesome

Nadine Keogh: loved this video! ♡♡

javi2040: I recommend Aussie. Their shampoo and conditioner make my hair very shiny, soft, tangle free, and beautiful.

jernie alvarado: Hey Sarah, you should definitely buy some Shea Moisture products! They are all natural and all smell AMAZING! ❤️ ily!

Kirsten Diaz: sarah is so BEAUTIFUL!!and she looks so kind...i wish i can be her little sister because that would be awsome!!you always make me smile:D

Dani Fox: thank you for these tips there really helpful

Stephanie Dice: 1. Using a comb on dry hair will usually cause breakage. 2. If you hold your blow dryer above your head and point it down vs pointing it at your face you will hv less frizz and flyaways bcuz it helps the hair lie flat n smooth. 3. If you twist your hair into smaller sections to snip the flyaways, you will get more of them. All 3 things hv really worked for me, and also for svrl people I kno. :)

Loom Geek: you should make more lifestyle vids!!!

Emily Edwards: If u use one of your own shampoo products and a tiny bit of argon oil, it makes your hair super healthy -well at least for my hair; you should try it. If it doesn't work then it is because of hair type. The most damaging it does -if it doesn't work, is split your ends even more. Hope this helped

Deesha Patel: I put heat in my hair like every 3-4 weeks, I can never imagine myself to take the risk to straighten or curl my hair every week tbh

Karen Beth: Your hair is so pretty <3

Katie Rose: Love your vids Sarah

Miss Artie Craftie: your hair is always looking on fleek

lumi Finlow-bates: i love your videos!!!

Nina: It's funny how your hair routine is much more complicated than mine, and at one point my hair was even longer than that. The only thing I ever did was shampoo and condition, daily. I even straighten with no heat protection spray and it's fine. (I need to get some actually.) A few months ago I got a pixie though, which I am growing out again becuase I can't be bothered to go the the hair salon every 6 weeks xD My hair also grown incredibly fast for some odd reason, something I did not realize until now. Also, really cute hair accessories! I like this video more than your other ones, the mixing of themes is very good.

bridgette: I'm so glad I had coconut oil it made my hair so soft!

books rthic: Love this <3

Chloe Wilson: To remove build-up and for soft hair use vosene shampoo or washing up liquid. (Fairy recommended) I also spray my hair with cold water so that it closes the pores and makes your hair stronger. (Can use on face to close pores to prevent dirt getting in)

Abby Shannon: Your hair is sooo pretty

Molly Knight: My hair is REALLY long like Sarah's. I have been growing it since 4th grade(when it was cut up to my shoulders) and it is almost down to my butt now (I'm in 8th grade) I have taken so much care if it and now I'm ready to get it cut. I'm so nervous and excited! New start for high school!

Ma. Katrina Pepito: hi Sarah! you're so amazing! I'm your fan from Philippines. :D :)

Amrita Kaur: I know if you have thin hair, instead of taking vitamins for thicker hair, you can massage ur scalp with oil and overtime it does get thicker cuz the blood flow increases.

angelica kestin: Omg your hair is gorgeous!!!!!!

noah grace: You look sooooo gorgeous in this video... idk if you aren't wearing makeup or what but like the shower and hair part, you looked so pretty!!

sweetpie: The lighting is and your video was as good as ever keep up the good work

Maisarah Diran: LOVE YOUR HAIR !!!!!!

Mercedes Joyce: Ah! That's so funny I have been using the turbie-twist thing in my hair the other way with the label in the front for years. :P

Komal: Thank God I'm not the only one who does not section hair while straightening :D

Victoria: You should do more videos like this

Maria Gonzales: you look nice without make up!!

MeggsMermaidHair: Have fun!! Great video :-) Thanks!

Loretta Bourassa: if you do decide to go the no shampoo method again just be patient during those months that your hair is extra oily its your natural oils trying to find the balance start by switching to just conditioning your hair on the days that you would shampoo and then gradually decrease the times you do that if you find your hair getting too oily at times use a baking soda and water rinse and then rinse that with apple cider vinegar i used to get really staticy hair in the winter and since going no poo method my hair is no longer staticy but it took a few months of greasy hair to get to that point

Chloe King: I wouldn't of even guesses you filmed at night in the intro! It looked great(:

Floral Aimee: This really helped me Im trying to grow out my hair but it's taking ages

Jorose Feliciano: do more of like this videos!!! please...

Brianna Garcia: I honest think it looks better when you film at night. But if doesn't really look too different so you can just film at any time you want. ❤️❤️❤️

Crystal Jewel: actually combing hair with your diet tangling oil or something you detailed with taking a wide tooth comb prevents tangles when styling and easier to combine through☺

BasicAri: I love yours diys

CHANETTE: Your hair looks stunning!!!

Hello Sweet Sunshine: How long did it take for you to grow out your hair?

Olivia Hernandez: THIS WAS A PERFECT VIDEO

amber kang: I love the length of your hair ⚡️

Phoebe: Cool, great tips. I think I try cutting my split ends, like you showed...

Summer Eve: your ideas worked perfect

shruthi vishnu: can you please do a nail care routine also please your nail look too beautiful

snails go skrrt-skrrt: your hair is sooooo nice!!!!!

ry: I love the lighting!! You should do it more often! Oh I had a question, what if you dont have snapchat, twitter, facebook, stuff like that? I only have google+.

Mya Kalita: Please do more like this

nurul mehnaz: put oil the next day...after taking shower... its good for ur hair n scalp coconut oil or olive oil can or any oil i use olive oil dont put too much, just put a generes amount of it.

Huda: for your hair GET THE R&B OMG that will save your life! You only need a little and it makes your hair so sleek if it's in a ponytail! Sarah get the R&B!!!!!!!!11

Rahul R: Sara, can you please post more perler bead creations, since I love perler beads.I am also a huge fan of you.PLEASE REPLY!!!!!

Nat's Corner: I honestly couldn't even tell that it was a different light XD

Haley G: You have beautiful hair

Aine Louise: Awesome!

Annabelle Smith: I use the same conditioner and Burts bees body soap
