Hey guys welcome back to my channel for those of you who don't know me, my name is Katja and for today's video, if you have been following me along on my whole Instagram journey, then you guys know that I literally had every single hair color possible and I actually had these like really cool colorful hair wraps, and I used to get so many questions and how I do them so now that spring is kind of coming, and I kind of like want to bring it back a little bit. I just thought: I'd. Do one to start off and I want to show you guys kind of the whole process of how I go about doing them, and so anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this video and if you guys do, please give it a thumbs up every time you guys It just it just means the world to me. I can't say it enough so anyway, guys, let's jump right into it. I'M gon na stop rambling on and let's do this guy's, okay guys so, first off I select a color and I've kind of had like these three colors left over. So I was kind of debating between these two, but I think my heart is being drawn more to this one, so I think I'm gon na do the kind of like purple, grayish green one and maybe next time I'll do this one so anyway. So I take this, I kind of take a huge long piece and I just kind of as far as you can go and then I obviously cut it for the next step. I usually kind of want to situate where I want to place the hair wrap and for those of you who don't have Drive and actually have just normal hair. Like I used to have um, I would actually take a chunk of my hair where I wanted it and then I would kind of do a braid. But I would take some of my like yarn or just old leftover yarn and kind of incorporate it in the braid just so it gives more depth and it's thicker, because I just I love my hair wraps when they're big and bulky I mean, if you wanted To be kind of thin, then don't add that extra yarn in the brain, but if you want it kind of like how I love it, which is just a bit more bulky, then I would suggest you guys kind of incorporate the yarn in it. So once you kind of like figure out where you want to put it either on the top or at the bottom, I prefer them on the bottom. Just cuz, I don't know, I just prefer them on the bottom guys. Some people love it on the top, and I just I don't know I find it just kind of blends in, but it kind of pops up at the same time, just not too much so anyway. I'Ll go at the bottom. And so, if you have a brain, you do the braid and then what you're gon na do is actually take that piece of yarn that you guys are using and you're kind of gon na, like I'm gon na go with this one here. So I'm gon na toss my hair in the back, so you guys can kind of see but um. What I used to do is, I would take this piece and then just pass it through the hair on the top kind of just make a hole and then pass it right through and then bring it to the other side. Just so that this would kind of be hanging here and then you can kind of start, my hair is annoying and then you and then you guys can kind of like start wrapping it around. I don't that make sense guys since I have dreads I'm actually going to just create a knot at where I want it. So I'm gon na create a knot. I don't need to pass it through the hole because I can't get inside. I can't make a hole. Cuz, it's a dread, so I'm just gon na do a knot around the top here. It'S like the beginning of where I wanted to start, and then you see that there's this kind of like leftover piece here and then I'm just gon na actually, which way am I gon na, go I'm gon na go this way, so you can either go to Your right to your right or to your left and I'm gon na, go towards my left and you just kind of start wrapping guys yeah. I should have maybe tied my hair to do this, to show you guys not the greatness and just make sure cuz as you go along, there's like little pieces of hair that gets stuck and just make sure that they're not there, because I'm telling you guys it Hurts and then to try to like take them out. It'S like horrible. So, as you go along just kind of like take the little pieces of hair out so you're just gon na keep wrapping it around all the way till the end guys pretty much and what I love about this yarn. I mean there's so many different yarns that you can use, and I love this one specifically just because it has colors and it has gradients, and it just makes the whole process easier. Instead of like changing up your yarn cuz, I mean you would do the same process with different colored yarns, but it would just it just takes forever. I mean you would have to tie it and then change the color and then reput another color, and just it's just a long process. So if you guys can get a yarn with like a great hand to it, makes the process so much more easier. So, anyway, guys I'm gon na speed up this and kind of just keep doing what I do and just wrap it around. Just all the way to the bottom make sure those hairs are not in there. So just wrapping, I'm just not sure if I'm gon na go all the way to the end. Am I gon na leave my hair sticking out? Usually I used to not leave it sticking out, but I don't know I feel like. Maybe I should make a little hair sticking out this time so anyway, I'm gon na speed this whole process up and I'll get back to you guys when I'm done with the whole, covering of my dress. Okay, guys so once you get to where you kind of want to finish it, I kind of like before I used to have like no dreads, and I just kind of like, went all the way down to where the hair, like all the way to the tip And I would actually let this kind of hang, but I don't know I want to kind of like do half of one and kind of just keep a little bit of my hair peeping through and then maybe just let the rest of it hang in the hair. As well so anyway, this is where I'm going to stop it. So I'm gon na take one of my little kind of rubbery elastics and then I'm just gon na tie the end. I mean some people. You can either like finish it off with maybe a tiny little braid at the end, so it just doesn't fall through. But since my dreads are kind of like pretty like rough, I guess it'll, it won't slide they'll just kind of stay. Once you tied this, then I'm kind of just gon na cut a little bit of the piece kind of like right here, just kind of where I want it and then the rest I kind of can use for something else. So I kind of want to keep that part in there. I'M gon na take one of my big kind of beef wood beads and hopefully it will fit and I'm just gon na kind of like take them both in and pass them through the hole and just create kind of like a stopper. With my bead and kind of keep everything in place, so hopefully yeah - I don't know if it's gon na pasteurize the whole tooth to small. Now, I'm not sure so it's just tryin, okay. I think it's gon na work guys. So there you go so once you create that kind of like it does like a like a stopper. You know, so it doesn't kind of come out. You can add a whole bunch of other beads too. At the end, if you guys like that, but I'm just gon na kind of like stop it there, so you push it to like the max of where I can go, and then it does so once we're done with that, then we're gon na move on to Kind of like the Criss crossing over okay, I got strings flying at me once we're done with that we're gon na like move on to the next step, which is the kind of crossing over on top like kind of layering the criss cross thing over. I don't even know how to explain it. It'S just kind of like you're Criss crossing things over your hair, wrap and just kind of even tightening everything and just making things look prettier and then we're gon na add all the like jewels on top of this like with this. Actually so I have my gold one and then I have my silver kind of like elastic, it's kind of like an elastic II kind of rope and I think, to start off. I'M gon na go with my gold. Actually, no, let's go with the silver, so I'm just gon na kind of cut off a little a little piece here. Oh let's just say about this, this length yeah, you should do it close up this one. I think I'm gon na put it like right here. So you're just gon na take it and then make a kind of like just a little knot and then from there you're gon na kind of crisscross, so you're gon na tie it tight, you're gon na crisscross like this and then you're just gon na go pretty Much till you want to like stop it so crisscross. It doesn't have to be perfect guys. You know, like I mean I love, that when things are kind of unperfect and they just kind of like are naturally kind of weird-looking, so once you get to where I'm gon na stop right here. So once I get here, I kind of make an like a knot. I'M gon na bring it around do another knot on the other side, since this is how my dried kind of lays flat my hair, wrap, I mean then I'm gon na take. Maybe I don't know I'm gon na do this charm here: okay, okay, there you go guys, so I'm gon na use this charm and I'm gon na pass it through the string and then I'm gon na do another knot just to kind of secure it in there. You go and then I'm gon na bring it towards the back and do another knot and then just keep doing knot. It'S like maybe three times just to kind of so that it doesn't undo and you want to kind of keep it there. So I'm gon na do about three knots and then you just cut off the excess like this, and so we have our first criss cross and then we have our little charm starting here then we're gon na do the same thing with the gold. Now I'm gon na take the gold kind of the same length of rope, I'm gon na use and then I'm gon na start it off where I ended the silver. So I'm going to do the same thing. I'M gon na do a knot and then bring it towards the back and then bring it towards the front and criss cross. Another thing I think I should mention, though, is these things you can't like keep for like months. At a time I mean they do get wet, they do get ruined. You can avoid putting them in water and kind of wash the rest of your hair and not put these in water and just change them up. Maybe every like two months, then you should be good, but the more you wet them. I would say it would only last like two weeks, or else I don't know just the humidity that stays in there. It doesn't fully dry. So I don't know, that's just my tip for you guys like. If your guys are gon na do these hair wraps, I would suggest not to put them in the water and yeah and just keep them for maybe two to three months, and then you can wash your hair underneath and then kind of just redo it all over Again, I know it's a bit of a hassle cuz, it's a bit long, but yeah. You don't want to keep these things in too long cuz. They do kind of get gross so anyway, so you just keep doing what it is that you're done doing. You kind of crisscross till where you want it to stop and I think I'm gon na stop it kind of here. So I'm gon na do another knot in the front and then I think I think I'm gon na bring in maybe like a pataskala. You guys think I'm gon na bring in a tassel and then I'm gon na bring in any one of these kind of like gold gold shelves. I don't know why it's not it's not focusing yeah, I'm gon na, so I'm gon na bring in one of these gold shelves to nut shelves shelves. Anyway. You guys, you guys know what I'm talking about. So there you go so I'm gon na do another not bringing in the back just so it looks prettier in the front. You don't want to see that kind of, not in the back in the front. I mean you, don't want to do it too, tight either, because I I kind of noticed with time, if you do it too tight it kind of breaks, and you do the kind of same thing. You do three knots in the back just to let the knots don't undo oops and then you cut off the excess. So look how pretty so then this part I'm going to do again. I'M gon na bring in the silver cut a piece off and then start all over again where we ended the gold. I think I'm just gon na finish it off with silver, so I'm gon na lift this tassel. I can't even see what I'm doing so. I'M gon na lift this tassel. Oh no, oh just broke well that sucks okay, so I guess we're gon na bring in the turquoise tax so much for the purple, guys! Okay, so I guess I'm gon na hook it on to the silver make a knot ran towards the back and then start all over again with the criss crossing, like you can either like I'm using gold and silver, but there's so many beautiful, like different colored like Strings that you can use I'll show you guys what I mean with the other colorful strings, but I feel, like I don't know, I feel like using a bit of gold and silver and this hair wrap. But I mean it's: it's honestly: it's your choice whatever it is that you guys want to create - and I don't know it's whatever you're feeling you just kind of go with it, so we're getting towards the end. Actually, do you know what I should have maybe put I'm gon na go back we're gon na put another little bead right here. So the minute you guys want to put another beam, you just kind of added and as you're Criss crossing, so they should. They should add this kind of yin-yang it'll be good okay, so I don't know why it's just not focusing there. You go so I think we're gon na add this one. So I'm going to do a knots where I want to add it just so. It stays in place and I'm gon na there you go do another knot, so it doesn't move and then continue. So I'm just gon na continue the whole Criss crossing all the way to the end, which is not much here we go and then once you get to the end, you do the same thing. You just do a couple knots at the bottom: there just to keep it in place and then you cut off the excess. You should've put down one more in the front, but oh well! So once I have this, then I'm gon na go in with my little kind of dread, rap metal things that open up like this and then I'm just gon na put it where I think I want to add a little bit more like pop. Well, just more not pop a more accents to the dread, and I think that one of them like right here look good but think I'm gon na put like maybe another. What I should put - maybe these might put my feather at the bottom of the tread. So I'm gon na put this really cute feather at the bottom. Here, I'm just gon na wrap it and like do not wrap it. A couple times keep doing the process. So you wrap one time and then you do a knot. Just so everything kind of just doesn't fall apart, so wrap looks. I think, I'm just gon na finish it off with one more knots. There we go and then I'm going to cut off the excess. Then I have my nice little kind of spread their hairs just find kind of cute and it actually blocks the b2 from falling and then I think I'm gon na add. I don't know if this gold one's gon na fit. So I think I'm gon na add the plate. Maybe it can go pretty big, maybe at the bottom here that's and then normally what I would do. I have actually like when I used to bring it all the way down to the bottom. I used to finish it with these kind of beads like this. If I can, like they kind of go in a point - and I used to finish them off with this - and I would kind of make a knot at the bottom of this. So I put a bunch of beads like here and then just just to make it look pretty and finish it off cute. I used to kind of use this kind of bead, so you it's option honestly. You can create so many different things. It'S up to you guys like how you want to create your different dreads and hair. I mean not dress, hair wraps, I mean it's endless. You know you just add like just the more kind of like things that you add to it. The more special and the more pretty it looks, so I think I'm gon na add another gold. One like this, I'm gon na add it on the top. Since I feel there needs to be a bit of gold on the top here, so we can balance a little bit. I think I'm gon na put it like right here, I'm not sure if it's gon na fit there you go like that's the thing my dreads are so thick and so like wonky, that it kind of makes my chin my hair rap a little bit like funny-looking, But I guess that's what makes the charm of it right guys. You can add another little thing here on the other side, since this one is kind of hidden on the other side. So I'm going to take another little piece of elastic here, kind of take it and bring it. Maybe here I'm gon na take my actually. I don't even know what this says. I'M gon na take this one. It'S kind of pretty thing: it's like a Sun anyway, I'm gon na take that and then I'm gon na pass it through okay. So I just want to make sure that this one now is where I want it to be, which is in the front when it lays down so yeah. This is exactly where I want it, so I'm gon na make a knot, keep it in place there. We go and then just bring the string in the back and then do what we usually do and just create just do like your 3 knots, so it stays in place then cut off the excess yeah. This looks prettier. I wanted to kind of a little bit more in the front yeah guys, so I mean, I think, that's pretty my might maybe bring. I have this really cute little kind of Buddha head and I don't know I really want to put it. So I think I'm gon na maybe be here yeah. I don't want anything, try to avoid guys anything in the upper part of the hair wrap just because your hair keeps getting stuck in it. So just you know, like that's a tip that I have to tell you guys, is just avoid anything, that's kind of like up near your hair. It just everything gets stuck so I mean start kind of like I would say, like collarbone and then work your way down as far as kind of like the little jewels go, I'm gon na put this little guy. I think right here, so I'm gon na take the gold string. Maybe I should take this silver since we use silver, actually, okay, I'm gon na take the silver string. I'M gon na keep my tread. How I would let it fall like this. I think I'm gon na put it right here. There you go and then I'm gon na put in my little guy. If I can see okay, so then I'm gon na kind of place it where I want to place it, which is right about kind of there. Anyway and then create a knot and then just tie it bring in the back tie it like we usually do with three knots and that's pretty much it cut off the excess here you go so happy. I wanted this little guy for my final step. I actually I left this kind of like long piece of fat of wool at the end and what I normally do is I just kind of like take it and then just actually. I don't want to cut my hair, so I'll separate it, but I kind of take it and then just take the scissors and kind of go through it and just kind of break it up just so, it doesn't look so perfect, like kind of yeah, just kind Of like this just so, it kind of like separates and kind of looks a little bit more messy, so it blends in my hair and then I just take it and go a little bit more on an angle at the bottom here. Just so it's not so square off there. You go kind of like this, so yeah, that's pretty much it guys. That is how I create my hair wraps. So there you have it guys, how I create my hair wraps honestly. I did it this way, but there are so many different ways that you guys can create your own hair wraps using different yarns different little accents or even just the strings that I wrapped as a crisscross. Over my hair wrap, I mean the creativity is endless and you guys can do pretty much whatever it is that you want, but I just want to show you guys the basics as to how I create mine and yeah guys. So I hope you enjoyed this video and just thank you so much for watching. I love you guys always have an amazing day.
