Hi guys welcome back to my channel it's Kalei and today i'm going to be doing a mermaid inspired halloween makeup tutorial, we're gon na be making a headband. Today, that's got really cool seashells on it, starfish all that type of stuff, all that mermaid stuff, but I'm first gon na do the do-it-yourself headband and then we'll get into the hair. How I did it and then the makeup, so I hope you like it and let's just get right into it, all right guys. So what you'll be needing for this do-it-yourself project are some seashells, a glue gun starfish and an elastic headband. It'S also not pictured here, but I used a regular headband as well. So the first thing we're going to be working with are the starfish and you just want to lay them out how you're going to put them on top of the headband and go ahead and get your glue gun and just glue them down about a few inches. Apart from one another, so that way we can put the seashells in between them and in case any of you guys were wondering where I got my seashells and my starfish from they're actually from a store called a c-more. So once you're finished with that, you can go ahead and start gluing all the little seashells onto the headband I glued mine in between each starfish. I started with the actual bigger seashells on the base of the headband, and then I layered on top all the swirly. Looking seashells, so once I was finished, I tried on the headband and ended up being way too small for my head, so I had to snip off the ends and instead I glued it onto a different headband that would fit my head a little bit better and I actually ended up liking the result. So if you guys like this type of have been better to, I would just suggest gluing all the seashells on to this. To begin with, it'll make your life a whole lot easier, and here is the finished headband all right. So on to the hair, I actually used a nume curling wand, and this is, I think this is the biggest barrel it comes with. I believe it's a 1.5 inch take a section of hair like a pretty big section of hair, wrap it around the curling wand, with the curling wand, facing downward hold it for about 8 to 12 seconds release it into your hand, for about 3 to 4 seconds And you should get a really nice pretty spiral girl and I would suggest not touching the curls till they're completely cool. So this is the easy part, just place, your headband, how you like it and then whatever bangs you have on either side just go ahead and pin them back with a bobby pin over the headband spray everything in place, and that is it for this hairstyle first Thing we'll be applying for the makeup is foundation, that is my NARS sheer glow foundation and I'm mixing it with my josie maran argan illuminator for a really nice all-over glow. This little sponge, you see me dotting. All over my face is called a Beauty Blender. You can get it so fora and I like applying my foundation with it because it just makes it look airbrushed. It gives that perfect flawless finish, and I absolutely love that so now the foundation is done, we're going to go ahead and prime our lids with the Urban Decay, eyeshadow primer, potion, I'm just putting it onto the lid and then blending it out with my finger next, I'M taking my NYX jumbo pencil in milk and I'm putting that all over the lid and blending it out with my finger as well. This is gon na work as the base for some really colorful eyeshadows that we're about to put on first up, we have from the I dream of greeny, wet and wild palette. Is this crease color and it is a gorgeous green? I don't even know how to describe it's like a seafoam green and I'm using an eyeshadow brush to apply that to the very outer corner of the eye, going back into that same palette. We'Re going to use a really bright green color and apply that to the inner corner of the eye to blend those two eyeshadows together, I'm using the brow bone color from this palette in the very center of the lid, now take a light purple color with a Blending brush and blend that right through the crease to make the eyes really pop. I decided to go over top of that purple color, with Provocateur from the Urban Decay vice palette, which is pretty much the same color. It just has a whole lot more glitter in it all right, so now take a black eyeliner pencil and line your upper lash line with this and make sure not to make it too thick. You don't want to overpower all these beautiful colors that you want to see when you open your eyes. Also don't forget to fill in your eyebrows, I'm making mine a little bit thicker than usual, with the eyeshadow buck from The Naked palette for mascara. I decided to use bad gal lash from benefit, but you guys can use whatever you like to use and I am gon na be using lashes. These are individuals from ardell. You just get these at any drugstore and I'm taking my tweezer and applying a few to the outer edge moving like a centimeter up and putting a few more a centimeter up, putting a few more. You basically want to spread them out. So they kind of look like coral reefs and now onto the lower lash line. I'M going to be lining my waterline with this black pencil from ELF pick up that crease color from the wet and wild palette and put it in the center of your lower lash line and then pick up the really bright green color from that palette and put That in the inner corner of your lower lash line for the face, we're gon na use, Rimmel stay matte powder, so make sure the foundation stays on all day and you don't get greasy or anything like that, and I'm using my favorite elf powder brush, I'm only Gon na be contouring just a little bit because I do want the face to look youthful and round so I use my benefit bronzer in hoola, just to contour, underneath of the cheekbones a little bit for blush, I'm using benefits Dallas and I'm applying that to the Apples of my cheeks for a nice rosy flush to get that really Sunkist. Look, I decided to use a cream highlighter. This is benefits high-beam. I blended it right on top of the cheekbones underneath of the eye, but you could also just use a white eyeshadow and put that in the same exact spot. So I wanted my eyebrows to look a little bit more like frosted to continue on with the ethereal. Look so I took a spoolie and my jumbo pencil in milk from NYX and applied it to the very tips of my eyebrows. This was a last-minute decision. This is unhinged and electric blue color from the Urban Decay vice palette, and I put that on the very outer corners of my eyes and that finishes off the eye makeup and the face makeup for those really pretty natural lips. All you have to do is conceal out the edges of your lips using a concealer and a sponge and then in the very center of your lips, put a pink lip gloss. So this part is optional, but I did want to put a little bit of glitter on the side of my face. This is from Martha Stewart. I also got it at a Seymour and I'm using my eyelash glue, first, letting it dry for a few seconds and then right over top I'm putting the glitter this does take about. I would say five to ten minutes to do just because you have to work in such small sections, and you just want to continue this from your temple all the way to your jaw line. That is it for the makeup. I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial. If you liked it, please give it a thumbs up and leave in the comments below what you guys are going to be for Halloween. I would really like to know and I'll see you guys in my next video thanks for watching and don't forget, to check out my vlog Channel bye. You
