How To Restore And Detangle A Synthetic Wig | Wig 101 Ep. 1

Hey y'all everyone and welcome back so in this long overdue video, I'm gon na be showing you how I detangle in the store, a dried-out, dusty old, looking synthetic wig and they turned it into this, which looks brand new and it's super super soft and just you Can glide your fingers through it? So if you want to learn how to do this, keep on watching and don't forget to Like comment and subscribe and let's get into it, okay, so for tools of attack, we're definitely gon na need a blow dryer and definitely this little comb attachment. So this will be so helpful in detangling the hair. So yes, that's a must, but detangling brush is also good to have a link mine down below to where I got it off of ebay. So you can find that pretty cheap and there are magical elixir fabric softener. This is going to be a lifesaver so starting off with a pot of hot water or warm water. Now this is a poppet, I'm not going to use anymore. So yeah and also side note if you're gon na use hot water use tongs not hands cuz. I don't know what I was thinking. So don't do this so anyway, I submerged my wig and then I added a pretty generous amount of fabric softener. So really just kind of go. You don't need to add too too much, but a generous amount like two capsules and then just you know haphazardly swish it around really mix it in and make sure everything is fully coated and the water is kind of like this murky fun, color, so yeah. I let that sit for about an hour, and then this is what it looked like afterwards and it looks like a nightmare, but I promise you y'all. It wouldn't be a daydream after this, despite the fact it looks like it's been a couple but cracks in this lifetime. It is super soft. So when I tell you, fabric softener is the truth. Fabric. Softener is the truth. So so here you see me just placing the wig onto my wig head and getting ready to detangle, I'm just placing it on and then I'm just pinning it in place so that the hair isn't going all over the place. And the key with this is to use low heat on our blow dryer. So I don't know why pause this, but yes, low heat is the key, because you don't want the high heat to dry out the hair, and you also don't want the the you know. Hair follicle not have follicles, you know what I mean hair strands to be all over the place. So essentially this is going to take a while. It'S gon na take us some time, but it's gon na be so worth it and if I tell you believe me, when I tell you it's gon na be so much softer than it was like before it went through all hell and back like it's gon na, Be better than brand new, and so basically, what I'm doing is I'm just taking small sections and just really working my way over to the other side and then just kind of gently combing through it there's no rush. You want to really spend as much time on this as you can and really just take your time, because the more you try to rush the worse of a process. This is gon na, be so I'm just kind of zooming in to show you, I'm literally, using the teeth of the comb to just kind of pick through the hair and gently pull the strands apart, because one of the reasons why hair gets tangled is because it Just literally attaches to itself, but it's so easy to just uh knot it if you just take the time to do so so yeah, I'm just using the the comb, the blow-dryer and then I also use my hands to just to get the tinier knots out and Simply just pick at it like, if you see a knot, that you can't really get with your blow-dryer, just simply take that knot, and just pick at it, like you see me doing here, take one little strand out another little strand out and it's gon na be Back to normal, I promise you and then, if it's really really bad cut, that joint out. So we don't have time. Oh so now I'm just going ahead and I'm just blow-drying everything and I really just keep going like you know past the blow-dryer like over and over and over again and then eventually move to the next section and it eventually it just gets easier as you go And you know just turn on a movie or listen to new music or something like that, and this is what it will look like when you take your time and it's just fantastic.
