She Hasn'T Been To A Salon In Years So We Gave Her The Works| Using Zinc On Gray Hair

Hey guys crystal here from elite haircut, usa. So today we have my client where this is her. First time in the salon, we are going to be doing a retouch on her salt and pepper and make it all nice and black and blended in with this beautiful hair that she has here. She'S also natural and we're going to be doing a silk press. More than likely a trim - because i can tell she hasn't - had a trim in quite some time, so you guys are basically going to come along with me for the maintenance journey. We'Ll also talk a little bit about coloring gray, hair best practices, that kind of thing, and then also for those of you that have not already signed up for my caring for gray hair class. It is august the 31st, so you guys go sign up by going to elitehaircareuniversity.com. So let's go ahead and get started so first things: first, we're going to go ahead and saturate the hair down. Of course, you always want to use hot to warm water depending on your tolerance and then i'm going to actually do a cocktail for her hair. So i'm using a little bit of our elite clarify and then i'm also using some of our soothe and balance dry. Itchy shampoo, now don't mistake this shampoo with the pre-treatment. This is the actual shampoo. The reason why i combine the two is number one: that zinc is great for her gray hair or her salt and pepper hair number two: it's going to soothe the scalp and give her some extra cleansing action because she does have long, hair and typically with long Hair, build up usually happens either at the root or on the ends. So i wanted that extra minty feel i wanted to give her an extra cleansing feeling, but i also wanted to be able to remove a lot of that product build up or natural oils. That is in her hair because we are doing a silk press on her and you want a nice clean slate now. What also happens with the soothing balance shampoo. Is that? Because it is infused with that zinc, it's going to do really really well on her scalp and it is going to help boost that circulation and, of course, it's going to help to boost the follicle as well, so that soothing balance is not something that i definitely Tell you guys, i tell you guys, don't sleep on any of our products, but please don't sleep on the soothing balance shampoo, because this shampoo changes the entire life okay. So what i'm using right now is our scalp agitator to help stimulate even more blood flow. Get that blood circulating and it also helps to soothe the itch. So all she was saying was thank you as i was shampooing her hair, because it felt really really good, but it didn't make the scalp aggravated or um. Inflamed is another good word to use, and then, of course, you guys saw me do the little jamaica script script. That'S what i did at the end of her hair to help clean the ends of her hair as well. You guys don't try that at home in jamaica, that's how you wash clothes, but you know the insider all right, so we're rinsing our hair out with warm water. Now, of course, for the shampoo process, we always use warm water and then, of course, for the conditioning process. We will use cool or cold water now, because i did do a cocktail. I'M gon na go ahead and do another cocktail, and this is gon na - be a moisture and strength cocktail using our moist repair and also our amina strengthening shampoo. Now, because she is salt and pepper, she is natural, but she's also color treated, so i do want to still strengthen her hair at the same time and also add a little bit of moisture all in one step. So this is another reason why you guys always hear me talking about cocktailing and not being afraid to mix your elite hair care shampoos or your elite hair care conditioners to tailor it to what your hair needs and that's exactly what i did for her today. So, as i said, i use the moist repair and the amina strengthening shampoo on her and we are going to be doing a color service which is a retouch on her salt and pepper here at the root level. So this is really just preparing her hair and getting it ready for this color service, because she is natural. We are going to be using a 8 volume color. The company that i'm using is called schwarzkopf. This is called intensity. It is a no ammonia color, but it is great for great coverage, and this is also considered a demi-permanent effect or demi-permanent color, because it is less than 10 now for any type of color application. You always want to make sure that you towel dry, the hair. First and i'm going to go ahead and do another cocktail, so this is all about cocktails today, you guys. So what i'm doing is the makita strengthening conditioning mask and the moist me 24 karat mask and what i'm doing is putting that mask on her free hair. So what i call free hair is the hair that is not at about one inch um or below on the scalp level, and then i'm going to apply her hair color, because i'm only doing a retouch at the root. I'M gon na apply the hair color to her roots only and then we're gon na allow both to process so she's, getting a deep conditioning mask and a color service all in one step now, because i know i'm doing a demi-permanent color. That is only going to be processing for about 25 minutes. I was comfortable with putting the conditioner on her ends and allowing that conditioner to also process free air or open air for 25 minutes as well. She is not going to go under the dryer with this color. This does not require any heat, but we're also allowing that deep conditioning mask cocktail that we created to process all at the same time, and then, of course, when we're talking about color application, you guys i'm very big on bowling brush. It allows you to have more control of your color. It allows you to have better placement of your color and when you are dealing with salt and pepper hair, you want to take very small sections, because you can easily miss a section and not know until your hair is actually dry. So a thorough application is taking small sections with a bowl and a brush and you're, applying your color to each individual section, one at a time. Okay, and then always follow the manufacture. Specifications for processing time in her case she'll, be processing for 25 to 30 minutes. Open air, no dryer, as i said before now, i'm making sure that i'm also saturating her gray really really well. Remember gray is like wire: it's like a spider. The body touches the actual excuse me, the body doesn't touch the actual scalp right, so gray, hair has a texture of its own. It'S going to stand off of the head. If you guys look, her roots are nice and even she got a black or a blue black color, and then we are silking her out now i want you guys to look at the iron that i'm using. This is not the iron that you would use on an everyday basis. Her trim was actually really really good. This is just very much maintenance. Okay, so this is giving very much maintenance you guys this is a maintenance trim, a maintenance trim he's using an inch or less of hair. Usually it's for the clients who keep up with their trim schedule my client here she actually watches my videos, so she was all taken care of in regards to her trim and it was really just a clean up and when i say a cleanup, it was just Very sporadic hairs, okay, so the service that i'm doing to her. This is what we call the works, so she got a deep conditioning treatment. She also got a trim and a silk press. I definitely recommend the service for new clients if you're coming to me for the first time, so we can really start you on a clean slate. Now look at how shiny her hair is you guys? Could you believe that i have not actually put any product on her hair other than our shampoos and conditioners and then a little bit of leave-in conditioner and she went under the dryer and look how silky her hair looks? Do not sleep on elite hair care products? It is giving very much healthy, shiny, long, natural, hair, okay, okay, but what we're going to do is just give her a basic style, so she wanted some loose curls um and i'm actually going to be using the flatiron to give her the goose curls today - and I did spray her with a little bit of goddess. Polish goddess powder should be back in stock soon. You guys we're working on it, it'll be back soon, so i'm using the same iron that i used to soak her to give her some curl. But if you guys notice, i was just giving her a bump and she said. Could you give me some tight curls - and i said, oh okay, sure so we're gon na actually go back and do some tight curls, rather than just having her hair straight with a bump? Okay and by tight curls, i just mean coils, you guys. She has long hair, so you can't really do um super tight curls unless you're using a curling iron, but today i'm using the flat iron, which is our same one-inch anniversary iron and just giving her some loose barrel. Curls. It'S smooth enough to give her the barrel. Curls, the the mouth of the iron, it has a good bevel on it, so it's not going to give her like those fish hooks or that that long crooked line, that i call it a crooked line, but that didn't make any sense. The crook in the line like a fish hook, that's what we really call them um and then i'm doing it in very large sections. You guys, because now that she's soaked out, i don't need to actually do really small sections to achieve this look. This is just a very loose curl. It'S going to be very flowy, very, like a messy kind of style. Let'S get out of being super uniform and do some real freehand things like hair should be moved. It should be movable, it should be playful. It should look like you got it done like yesterday and not i just got it done five minutes ago. Curls, look better! That way to me, so that's another reason why i really like using this iron specifically for clients like her, where she has longer hair and i'm just giving that loose barrel, curl yep and then, of course, for her at home care. She is going to make sure she wraps her hair, that's very important or she can pin curl her hair, and i also forgot to tell you guys in her service today when we did her trim. That is when i noticed that her hair was in really really really good condition. You guys so she's been watching my videos super fan. I love it. Her hair came out really really nice um.
