#Target #Goodfellow #Review

What'S up guys, it's Matt from TDM style here, welcome back to the channel and welcome to the first episode of budget stuff. Yes, finally, we made it who finally got here. You guys have been requesting that I take a look at some budget products for a long time and I've really been meaning to so. I am super excited that we finally got there. Now I'm excited about this series as a whole, but I'm particularly excited about this. First episode because I thought it would be cool if we like experienced the first episode together now, if you're a target shopper, which probably most of us are, they have Goodfellow branded stuff everywhere: clothing whatever and it's actually pretty decent stuff, and they recently dropped an entire Line of men's grooming products under that name, so they've got like everything in hair care, skin care, beard care and it's cheap and they've got a couple of what appear to be pretty good stylers. They have like a texture, fiber or something like that and a pomade and something else - and I think they're, like eight bucks or maybe even less so we're gon na take a ride to Target right now and we're gon na. Take a look at the line, see what they have buy a few things and then come home and try them out. Let'S do it. I should probably look first, though, and make sure that they have it cuz. If I Drive all the way to a particular target - and they don't have it there - I'm gon na be a salty. Here. We go upgrade your groom game without that's hard to say, groom game with our new collection at a dapper price depth. Is that really the right dapper browning on whatever all right? Let'S see it says in stock, so let's do it? Are we made as a target? Do you think they're gon na? Let me film inside. Are they gon na get salty at me? If they see me filming, I don't know it's a Saturday, so it might be busy. People might think I'm we were talking myself, but we're gon na go in see what happens all right. I didn't film inside because there were mad people in the aisle being weird, but I took a couple pictures of the displays with the prices and stuff I mean they have like full full line. So I got a few things here. There shampoo conditioner body wash and the texturizing fiber styler for a grand total of twenty seven sixty one. So it's a pretty good deal, also Starbucks, because, yes so yeah, so let's get the out of here cuz. I am sweating my Stu guts off in this car. It'S hot as today, so let's go home! Try these out alright! So before we try these. Let'S just talk like packaging pricing scent and a little bit of ingredients, real quick, so the shampoo, conditioner and Body Wash all come in these 16-ounce bottles and they were priced at $ 5.99. Each and the texturizing fiber comes in a standard like four ounce pomade jar, and that was $ 7.99, so yeah 27 bucks for four things and they're good sizes. I mean. Obviously the pricing is really good. It'S definitely budget level, pricing and now looking at the ingredients. Briefly on these, all of them say right on label. They are made without silicones, sulfates, parabens and synthetic dyes and looking at the ingredients lists of all of them, they look almost like ingredients lists that you'd find on some home brew products. So I mean like the conditioner has apricot kernel oil, olive oil, shea butter - it's got panthenol in it, which is really super good at making your hair soft and the texturizing fiber. I'M pretty excited about so they're saying that this is a stronghold, matte finished product and looking at the ingredients list, it is water-based and we've got both Kailyn, Kailyn and bentonite clay is we've got carnauba wax. We'Ve got vegetable derived lanolin wax jojoba esters, castor oil, like all stuff that we find in, like I said, homebrew type of products, so on paper they definitely sound like they should perform better than you know, some of those really cheap kind of chemically stuff, and now Just before we try them all at the moment that we've all been waiting for, we need to check out these sentence. So the shampoo and conditioner both come in this Moroccan mint and cedar scent and they actually like they've, got notes like on the side of the things we've got: top notes of cardamom, nutmeg, Moroccan mint and citrus middle notes of jasmine violet, coconut and eleni eleni is, But it sounds fancy and bass, notes of cedar wood, sandalwood, vanilla and musk. So it sounds like something that should be right up my street. Yes, that might be that might be where they have a me up. That smells great. It'S very slightly minty, which I appreciate, because I don't want my shits non like toothpaste, but it's definitely like you get the sandalwood and the muskiness and spiciness, and but it smells like light and clean that smells really good. Alright, now the body wash is cedar, wood and geranium, and this one has top notes of orange and geranium middle notes of cedar wood and cinnamon leaf and bass, notes of patchouli and sandalwood. So once again it sounds like I'm gon na like this. Okay. Yes, so it's you definitely get a little bit of that sweet orange at first and then I just yeah, and then you get that cedar. Definitely the spiciness of the cinnamon and the kind of yeah it's kind of Irby and earthy and outdoorsy. Yes, again, smells really good all right now, the texturising fiber. So this one is a blue sage and tonka bean scent. So this one doesn't have notes listed, but it says a zesty lime and smooth sage sent with undertones of warm tonka amber and woods. So again. Okay, so it looks like a clay, pomade type of thing. Oh yes, oh my god he's all smell great! Oh that one might be me uh. Well, that actually smells super good, it's light, but it is like you get just a little bit of lime and you get that kind of sweet, vanilla, eveness of the tonka bean and just that slight or venus of a sage. I really like that. I, like the sense on all of these, so I'm done talking about these. I'M gon na go get in the shower final ink because I am sticky and sweaty and stanky ass, so I'm gon na go wash up so we'll see how the shampoo, conditioner and Body Wash are and then we'll come back with blow-dried hair and I'm gon na. Try out the texturizing fiber and then we'll do our kind of normal first impressions testing see how it wears throughout the day and all of that whoo. Look at that. I'M not gon na lie. I'M kind of shook right now, so both the shampoo and body wash had a nice creamy lather my skin doesn't feel dry. It feels nice to shampoo got all the products out of my hair, no problem and the conditioner actually was surprisingly thick and creamy, and look at my hair's got a nice shine to it. It'S it's a very soft and bouncy yeah okay target. So now it's time for the coup de Gras, I'm really I'm really looking forward to trying this. So, let's check it out. So, as I mentioned, it looks like a clay now they're, calling it a texturizing fiber, which I find, I think, is just like a term that a lot of the kind of drugstore brands use. They call things fibers, even if they aren't necessarily. I don't know what we're gon na find out. If this is really a fiber or not there, we go first scoop all right, so it is definitely a bit tough. So I found the top layer, but underneath is softer okay, so it looks very much like a kind of waxy clay type stuff stuff we're used to seeing as you break it down. It gets creamier, I'm not seeing any fibers and I'll get a close-up of this too. So you guys can see for yourselves. So I yeah I'm not seeing any fibers, but I mean that's: that's fine! All right yeah breaks down smooth creamy. It'S got a slight dryness. Slight tack, all right yeah, so we're feeling just a little bit of stickiness all right. Let'S go for a scoop in all right, so it is definitely a bit dry on application. You can definitely feel some grip here, but it's not unbearable. It'S it's a little bit of tug and pull it does have. You know, like I said, does have a grip of stickiness to it, but it's not that bad and it doesn't seem to be. You know some of these like they start to dry instantly, and then it gets worse. This is not it's pretty consistently sticky right now. Is that thing consistently sticky? You know my hair looks edgy as right. Now is just keep it like this all right. So it's feeling very lightweight in the hair, thus far, this middle section here has a lot of the whole thing has a lot of movement, though so I am going to go in with a second scoop, because this is supposed to be a stronghold, so it feels Like it could be with that kind of grip enos to it, yeah so definitely you'll see a few hairs come out with that. But it's certainly not the most. You know stickier Tuggy, pull anything. I'Ve ever used just hit puberty right there. All right, let's go in with a second small scoop here: yeah we'll go with that yeah! So now I can definitely feel the grip setting up, but I mean it's definitely got some hold strength to it at least right now, and you can definitely feel the dryness from both of those clays. So I think the texture coming in is pretty good. It'S a pretty standard, you know clay type texture, so we'll see how it fares against this back cowlick section in my hair right here right now it seems to be doing quite alright. I did just have a fresh haircut, so you know I do you know. My hair is a bit shorter now and it's definitely less heavy, so that should help as well alright. So I'm gon na stop around with this, because at the moment this I think the shape looks good. It definitely feels like it's gon na, be a nice medium, teetering on a stronghold. The texture looks good. It'S definitely matte like this. The shine you're seeing is just the shine from my natural hair as well as my lights here. This definitely did not add any shine, but my hair doesn't really feel you know super dry or anything either. It does feel a bit sticky still cuz it. You know it needs some time to set but yeah, so I'm just gon na go about my day and we'll come back later and see how the endurance factor is and then we'll move on to. You know kind of final thoughts on everything. Alright, so I cut the endurance test, a little short at about 5 hours, because this happened, but before she say anything, don't worry, it wasn't the product. This was actually holding up really really well. It was like hot as today, really humid, and this was doing great. It was definitely a stronghold. He was keeping things in place. It definitely still had a dry kind of tangley feeling for me, but the stickiness did go away, but anyway, so about four and a half hours in we were walking outside and suddenly it was the great deluge outside. So I had to walk in pouring rain for a couple minutes, and so that's why this happened so yeah. Obviously, the fiber didn't hold up very well against pouring rain, but I mean what product does all right so overall thoughts on the Goodfellow products or excuse me good, fellow and company, so the shampoo, conditioner and Body Wash. I am seriously impressed. They definitely well exceeded my expectations, I mean, is it the best shampoo conditioner? I reused? No, but for a 599 price point they're, absolutely the best, shampoo and conditioner that I've ever used in that price range and same goes for the body wash. It was just. It was great and also I mean I loved all their sense. I love the packaging, it's just. It looks really clean and it definitely looks you know higher-end. Then it's priced now for the texturizing fiber first things. First, I think they should just call it a clay. It'S not a texturizing fiber, it's a clay, and I again I think they call it a fiber just because that seems to be like the buzzword that all the cheaper brands use for men's hair products like everything's a fiber. I don't know why and there's no fiber in it and it's got clays in it. I just just call it a clay, but aside from that, I'm pretty impressed with this as well. I don't think that this is that great for my hair type because of its dryness and stickiness. So I mean you know, even though I did get rained on it still feels fairly dry and it's still a little bit tangley ends for me. I think it would work very well for those of you with straighter or finer hair. So again, is it the best clay I've ever used in my life? No, but for $ 7.99 it not bad. I think there's definitely room for improvements, but I mean you know that, like I said before, the formula is very homebrew ish, so you know. I think this could be great if they made a few small adjustments like to just give it a smoother application. I do think that the hold was pretty strong, as I mentioned before I got rained on it was going great and the finish was good, was matte didn't get too greasy didn't get too dry or anything, and you know, obviously I can't really speak for the washout, But I guess kind of because this is like two minutes of pouring rain and it's like half out of my hair and it did wash off of my hands very easily. So I feel like it's gon na wash out of my hair really easily too, but yeah. Overall, I'm very impressed with this line. Yeah target. You know, I'm I'm almost keen to say that this is like if you've never tried a homebrew product and you're, you want to start but you're, not sure about spending that much money. You can try some of these. That kind of will get your feet wet a little bit because they are to me similar to some pretty damn good quality, homebrew stuff, so yeah I mean I would definitely be interested to like try their other stuff in the future. Like their skin care and beard care, so let me know if you guys would ever want to see that in a video, so that brings things to a close on our first budget, stuff video. I hope you guys enjoyed this. I had a great time making it and I'm looking forward to trying other budget brands and I feel like those I'll either do just like a standard. First impressions, video or maybe I'll. Just do you know kind of my standard thoroughly tested reviews, but I like doing the first impressions bit for this first episode stay tuned next week, I'm going over the dapper boy reformulation from three-decker pomade week after that I've got some faith and integrity Pommies. To talk about I've just in hair band and I've got all kinds of stuff. So if you haven't already, please do hit that subscribe button down below to keep up to date with all that and as always, thank you guys so much for coming by and watching and we'll see you at the next one. You

Michael Rodriguez: The clay was actually better than some of the home brew clays I’ve used recently. Target really hit it right on the nail with these products.

Jenna Stanley: I love the budget episode! I’m a poor college student so this is perfect.

Matt C: Goodfellow&Co is by far the best mens grooming line I've tried concerning price($7-$8) and hair products. The smells are really great and natural, compared to normally synthetic/fake cologne type scents from budget products. Also the hold for all three different hairstyling products are AMAZING. Ik Matt tried the "fiber" but I have also tried the polishing cream and I have to say considering my thick wavy hair the pomade, the cream, and clay all give amazing high/firm holds that dont give up even after the 6 hour period in which other products tend to drop off. The application is a tiny bit grippy but alternatively the wash out needs only a little bit of shampoo which is always beneficial. As a junior in highschool I walk everyday back and forth across my campus and the hold never gives up no matter how hot(California weather btw). Thanks Matt for reviewing the brand as I always walked past it in Target thinking it was another desperate budget brand trying put on a front of 'high quality'. The only downside is that sometimes they run out of stock of certain product because I guess others are catching on as well. Love the channel Matt been subscribed for almost a year and have been watching channels like yours back when I was in middle school. I like your name too lol.

Sam Hulick: I wasn't necessarily looking for budget shampoos, just ones with limited ingredients. I stumbled upon the Goodfellow shampoo you reviewed in this video, smelled it, and BOOM, instant purchase. It smells almost exactly like one of my favorite colognes, John Varvatos. Oh, and it cleans hair pretty well too.

Axel Garcia: Thank you for deciding to make this series. It is very good, since for us as consumers we will always have good alternatives and with fairly competitive and accessible prices. In addition, this means that homebrewers can readjust their prices and become more competitive with these supermarket brands. Excellent video Matt! Love u

Tamas Menyhart: I had to go out of town and forgot to take my Oasis Clay with me, so I just went to target and picked this up.. MAN.. this stuff is GOOD! For the price, the ingredients are good, good hold, texture... Scent is really good too! Very impressed by this product for the price range!

Patrick Kendrick: This is actually one of my favorite clays (definitely not a fiber). I was shocked... I saw it was on sale for $4 one day, looked at the ingredients and figured “why not”? Even with some amazing ingredients, I was still very surprised at how much I like this product. Even more surprised at how cheap it is. Target could easily (and justifiably) double the price of this one

Arturo Yamamoto: You should review there colonge line. I just bought the variety pack and tried the first one. very good in my opinion. Smells good long lasting and smell like expensive colonge. Will like to see your reaction and review.

Fly_The_ UU: Picked up the shampoo and conditioner. Stoked to try it. Would love to see you test their skin care line as well. I'm currently using the Grooming Lounge skin trio and their shaving stuff and I enjoy it.(thanks to your review of it!) Just wondering if the Goodfellow skin stuff would punch above it's price point. Keep up the great work dude!

Alon Clemmensen: I'd love to see some beard and skin care with these products!

Dark Dakota: The Goodfellow & Co. grooming range was designed to be like Aesop at 1/10 of the price.

Callum Standish: I'm used to men's product reviews being annoyingly manly so being hit with a "biiiiiitch" was refreshing

Jacky Stylez: Nice video! Makes me wanna smell all that stuff. And your hair actually looks pretty good after all that rain lol

A.M.R: I actually bought the beard oil kit two Christmases ago. Blue sage & Tonka/ Juniper & Sandal Wood smell amazing

Matt Arcori: Love your tank, I'm guessing it's a local brewery? I have been wondering about their shampoo and conditioner recently, I really like the body wash but was skeptical of shampoo at that price point.

Choco Koi Fish~ 錦鯉: DO THE DOVE HAIR STUFF NEXT THE CLAY POMADE ALL IT The smelling part turned into felt like a whiskey smelling fun

jimmie pedregon: Great review! I’m heading to Target Now! Thank you

paul nerval: Matt, picked up the Goodfellow and Co Texturizing Fiber at Target earlier today and it is terrific! Your assessment is right on the mark, as its ingredients are very similar to many of the top home-brewed pomades. Also, in agreement, that this is definitely a clay, not a texturizing fiber product. I find it more along the lines of Baxter's of California's clay pomade but a lot cheaper in price. Great find! Thanks as one of your subscribers.

Aensland: Dude awesome review! So informative. Definitely want to try the body wash and shampoo+conditioner. Btw I love the purple hair! I went Silver with Overtone, then blue. The blue looked tacky af. I think blue on me looks too clownish but I’m eyeballing that purple though. Im definitely going purple next! Thanks for the video!

Clint: Wow I’m really interested in checking out goodfellows after I run out of hustle. The ingredients seem similar enough warrant a try given the price.

Shaun Leonard: Enjoyed the video! I’ve tried some Goodfellow clothing and have been impressed.

Jacob Greer: I like Goodfellow and co it smells really great and it's natural and it really does clean well and the lotion and stuff is great once you use it all together it all adds up to what you payed for

MooMoo: Can you please do a top five shampoos and conditioners?

Chris Perez: The “texture fiber” is really good I was surprised when I used it.

Wade W. Wilson: Omg I love you I ask you and E everyone else to re uew the texturizing fiber"clay" cause it a awesome and it hydrates and is a great organic and vegan clay

michaël Clerinx: Okay, the packaging looks nice

Yay Yo: Yes I git this brand, can't wait to see what is up with this

zinger2215: I can’t believe I missed this video. I’m here for the smell reactions . I was googling this shit then saw this had to watch. Can’t wait for the next one

Caleb Blas Avila: You should try their skin and beard care products, I've been using them for 2 months now and I'm fucking impressed by the quality and the price.

Phillip Andrew: Whoa. I'm seriously eager to check all this out now myself. Never even heard of this before either.

Jacob Lebron: Matt! You should totally rock the slightly curly look you got after you walked in the rain. It looks awesome

Callum Adams 101: People overlook shampoo. It’s really imperative to Heathy hair.

Lucien De Rubempré: Hey Matt. Question for you: After I apply clay I lock the hair in with hairspray. But than the hairspray adds unwanted shine. How do you go about that?

Jeremy Valdez: Currently trying the texture fiber as well. Not bad. Definitely not as dry and tugging to me as something like Stickmore styling cream. Do you know another product that has similar, perhaps even more hold but not quite as dry? Looking for something similar to this but that is smoother and doesn’t dry out my hair as much.

Tanner Immel: Love how you edit when you smell things

hanabbe: Goodfellow shampoo & conditioner are excellent!!!! They smell really good too.

Swing66: Hey Matt does the Shampoo get completely rid of product/buildup or does it just get rid of the initial amount of product and leave buildup? Lol I'm addicted to your videos man

paul nerval: Beginnings of a good series! How about the Everyman Jack line as a consideration? Looking forward to the next video.

*BEARDED_VATO*: Dude videos like this are gold for us budget people!

Sahaj Patel: Not to state the obvious but is the shampoo/conditioner color-safe?

Ryan DeLaune: How did the Shampoo and Conditioner do with getting out product? Im looking for a cheaper option that is not $25 a bottle...

KY Moonman: Funny how we want the opposite of what we have when it comes to hair. Mines straight, like your curls.

Chris Misajon: Goodfellow texturing fiber is EXACTLY the same product as Chaptr styling cream. Same smell and everything. Like WTF

Todd Jeffcoat: How does this not have more views and likes? This was great!

Valente Leanos: I missed this one when it first came out, I gotta say bro One thing I like about your vids is the colors u pull off with your hair. The purple shade you got poppn in this episode is one of the fucken best I've ever seen lol. You have a knack for this shit Matt, keep makn vids brother and we'll keep watchn.

Cory M.M.: Yeah I use a little bit of water with the clay, makes it way easier putting it in your hair.

Diego Alejandre: Does the shampoo end up leaving your hair dry? Ive been looking at shampoos and conditioners that are all natural and leaves the hair nice and soft to the touch

Lucien De Rubempré: We have no Target in Europe :( You underestimate your worldwide popularity ;)

c j: when you started full on smelling that shit i had to subscribe. well rounded reviews, yaass!

Patrick Kendrick: Are you still a fan of/using the shampoo and conditioner?

Vince340023: That texture fiber is legit. Super dry though

Tanner Immel: Definitely try the rest of the line

Cyber_ Lion: TDM: Swears in video YouTube: DEMONITIZED Also TDM : What the F***

Nicholas McCartney: the curls look great dude

chris Guzman: the texture fiber imo works better than most of the more expensive pomades I've tried leaves a good natural finish with a strong hold and if it messes up I can just finger comb it back to place

Z: Watching this video with good fellow in bag star bucks in hand

Aljimal Jamal: Your hair looks good

Pomp GT: Dapper. Price. That sounds more like the personal cost of being dapper. Like time and damage to personal relationships.

Tanner Immel: So glad you did this vid

Vince340023: Too me it sorta felt like quicksand in the hair if you’ve ever used that.

Luis Martinez: Nice vid!

Desi Gabru Men's Fashion Lifestyle: I like your videos love form India ♥️

Mandeep Mann: You are underrated

Benja: Can you do a Redken brews review

Leonard Levy: Home run on this first of the series

Choco Koi Fish~ 錦鯉: I need helps i see you have blue hair i wanna dye my hair a better brown but do you feel like these are good for coloured hair? Since I use all their shampoo and conditioner stuffs

CharlesT: First like and comment on the first episode simply immaculate

ToniPS: I don't understand aswell why they use the word 'fiber' in a lot of products that are not fiber. By the way, in my case, I prefer always clay products (I have the feeling that the hold is more strong). I will check next time the smell of the products and if they are nice, I will buy it too, because they looks nice. Thanks for the video :-)

mezingerz sal: Can you make a video of your hairstyle ?

robin hankd: Too bad they don’t ship to Germany

David Gola: Like your hair better with the natural curl from the rain

VerzideGF: Shampoos look like salon guy lol

Shaan Nik: Nice bro

Amir Sofian: Finally early YASSSSS!!!!

Tiago: 8:19 Don't think I didn't notice that mr. Matt ramsay

Lazarus Rex: I want your lamp.

Hrishabh Tiwari: I just came here to say that your thumbnail looks very creepy.
