Hey Fam! So, I decided to try out the Melanin Haircare products to see how it would fare on my hair texture. Whitney, AKA Naptural85, has always been a resource to me when it came to my natural hair journey. So, I was sooo excited when she announced the launch of her product line. To hear my honest thoughts on the products watch the video. Also, feel free to share your thoughts as well in the comments below! xx Ruth

Hi guys welcome back to my channel it's Ruthie patootie here and I'm back with another video today, I'm coming at you guys with a product review, slash a demo, I'm here to review natural natural 85 aka Whitney's new haircare line melanin haircare, just two mainstay products that She is selling on her site. She has the twist and long gating cream, along with the multi-purpose oil blend. So if you'd like to see how I was able to use these two to style, this hair then keep on watching the video. I just finished washing my hair, I washed it. I'Ve conditioned it and now I am ready to style it. I'M using this shea moisture shampoo, which is an oldie but a goodie, and then I also used this deep conditioner. So I washed the condition detangle my hair with this detangling brush here, alright, so I'm going to start with this section here, maybe I'll tuck this apart away I'll. Let me split each twist into two and see how it goes from there. So this is probably be two separate twists, so I have the what was this one multi-use, pure or oil blend right here, which has Olaf back argan oil and vitamin E? It'S meant to detangle soften and steal your hair and have this styling product here, which is a twist elongating styling cream. So if you know anything about the LLC or else you'll method, you will know that you go with a liquid oil and a cream or liquid cream and oil depending on your preference. For me, why is the liquid then I do both oil and I do see styling cream, that's just how I prefer to do it. So I'm gon na take this oil blend. Put a few drops in my hands mix. The water got ta put some sort of lemon or citrus fragrance in this, so smelt it, I would say first impression, is that it really melts right into my hair. I mean it's oil, so it's already melted to show this doesn't have a fragrance. It just smells like it. Doesn'T I smell like anything I took this amount, I'm going to rub it into this section X on it. Okay, one thing I would say I noticed again it's going right into my hair a lot of times when I use these styling products. You see like the residue like, I really have to rub it in this, didn't take too much rubbing in and it's already in my hair, and I don't know if the camera is able to pick that up quite well and then I'm just gon na go ahead And twist away, if you're interested in my wash day routine, I will link it here so that you can have a little bit of an idea of what I've done prior to this step. So that is one section I can't oh, my gosh, so Sun's up, elongating cream and my hair certainly feels you don't get it okay. It is currently about to be 1 a.m. and I have to go at 6:00 to get ready for work, and we are finally on the last section. So this is the last section. Is it sad just put that part way so tad bit dry, so we're not to spray it with some water update as I've been going through this process and using these products? Man, oh man, this oils pretty and holy like just melts into your hair. At some point I was like wait: we have this line of gooey where's it going it's my water. It literally feels like the water is just like absorbing right into my hair. Another thing that I will note for the future is I watched, Knapp Charles videos for quite some time now, and I know that she typically applies the oil while she's still in the shower or water hair, school, drenching, wet and that's something I start to keep in Mind where I am unraveling these twists is that my hair is not as wet and the technique is a little different and then also you know natural and heard DIYs and Whitbeck aloe vera, all the extra stuff that I really don't have time for it. Because my mind, I'm, like might better, come out the Glen natural oils to them and the same thing. I cannot see her now. You know what I see thing. I'M not sure, sorry guys this might look like a bus, but I'm just trying to hurry this thing up. I need a good good, so it has been a full ish 24 hours and I actually went to work today and just had my hair and a wee bit of a ponytail. You get me actually didn't. Think I could film today I was thinking. I have to wait like another 24 hours before I could take these twists out, but they feel pretty dried to me. They do because my hair low porosity takes forever to dry when I do to itself. Sometimes I can take like a whole week before I take off before I take down my twist out, but you say: go so I'm gon na go ahead and take these twists out bit by bit and kind of speed things up a little bit gay, alright guys. So the hair has been unraveled. Okay, so now it's time to style, because I can't just be walking around like this pick out the roots to give it more volume, shake it shake it shake it shake it shake it shake it like a Polaroid picture. Okay, calm down, I think I'm gon na bobby pin it like this. Let'S see, I don't know styling twists. Thoughts have always been a struggle for me with that. Okay, let me got some bobby pins. I'M gon na bobby pin this like this. So what I did is, I just took the front portion of the twist out and I put it up on Dale and then I took a strand of hair and wrapped it around the base of the ponytail to kind of conceal the hair. Hairpin part, the drop a process of doing my twist. I kind of hinted towards the fact that this product is very super duper light weights like it almost feels like you're pouring water on your hair. It absorbs very well into your hair strands, because my hair does feel very, very soft and very well moisturized at this point, so I like the applicator the way the oil is packaged with an applicator tip that comes with a cap. That'S like resealable, so it's not like. If you wanted to travel, I wouldn't take it with you. This can go on and seal, so you don't have to worry about it spilling on whatever is in your suitcase or whatever the case may be so the way she recommends using this product. It'S apply, it's wet or damp hair. So you can seal moisture into your strands. Now I mentioned earlier that my moisturization technique is the loc method, so I usually go with an oil before I go as a cream or a styling product, and that's actually how I've seen her user on her channel throughout the years whenever she's in the shower shampooing. When she's done with that whole process, she seals with an oil before she moves on to styling, and I think I just I don't know if it's from her that I adapted that. But that's that's. How I've also been practicing my moisturizing? How I've been was sure. I think my hair, so the next product that we have here, is the twist elongating styling cream. I honestly think that the twist that would have come out, maybe a little bit more defined, maybe a little better if I used it on like drenching wet hair, rather than I thought my hair was in between wet and damp. It wasn't that awkward in between face. So I don't know it picked up because of his low porosity then picked up as much of this product as it could've. With that in mind, I would still say my hair is very, very soft. So again, moisturize from the oil moisturized from being greens are in this styling cream, and I would say that my twist out is the rather defined. If you look at it, you can see the definition that is here now there are parts that are frizzy like. Let me see if I can find an example like right here muscle but Wow where's, the friend like I'm trying to find where okay, there is a little bit of frizz here. So, as you can see like right here, the definition is there, but there's still a little bit of frizz, but, as you can see, I'm really trying hard to find this frizz. Okay. So clearly, this product lives up to the expectation it lives up to the hype, and I'm so excited that I did get my hands on these. I am definitely gon na be using these more often. If you don't follow me on Instagram, you may or may not know that this summer summer, 2019 is gon na, be the summer of natural hair. I'M tired of the excuses, I'm tired of all these wigs. I'M tired of me complaining that I don't have time. Okay, we're gon na make this a summer of natural hair. I want to bring you guys more videos. I know I've been busy with a residency, but I think that I'm gon na try to make more time for it. But if you've tried this before comment down below - and let me know what your experience has been - did it live up to the hype for you are there any constructive criticisms that we can provide our fellow sista because she has carried us through all these years? Giving us free information for the free online and now she has finally created a business around as something to get back to herself to put the money back in her pockets. We must support her comment down below. Let me know what you think: if you try the product also, let me know - and I will catch you guys in my next video bye

Nia Parker: Let my hair get this long I won’t know how to act

lovely littlegirl: You make me look forward to taking care of my 4c hair. At first, I hated having 4c hair because it is very hard to manage. I love how it looks, the 4c fro and when it's stretched it looks like a blow out but taking care of it was a hassle. I always prayed for a looser texture because it is easier to handle. But after coming across your channel I feel inspired to start taking care of my hair. I have revisited the reason why I became natural in the first place. The first step to loving myself was fully accepting myself. Also, because I'm tired of being charged huge $$ at salons

Hamza Musana: I really thought this was a wig. You are gorgeous

Chenelle : I love your hair Whatever Nap85 is selling, I'm buying. I'm so happy she created Melanin hair care.

Lee Ah: Not sure what my hair texture is , started getting it straightened when I was 8 and went into relaxers at 14. But u inspire me to keep going with my transition can’t wait to see my given hair ☺️ yours is beautiful.

absolutebeautyxo: With low porosity have you ever tried LCO hair cuz as someone who has low porosity it’s definitely useful and I’ve seen a difference since I made the change

rosedaline valetine: I love your makeup. I love the pink reddish look. It's my favorite go to colors too!

Reservechic: Your hair looks so incredibly amazing! As, I totally adore the results that you got! I do currently own both the twist cream and the oil blend. I actually have 5 jars if the twist cream to be exact. I actually bought it fir doing wash n gos and bunning my hair with. I definitely will buy more of this styling cream fir sure. The oil blend, I've only used once, and that was as a pre-cleanse oil treatment. I think the oil blend wires fine. I haven't used it regularly enough to know if it's really worth my buying again. I really don't pure oils in my hair on a frequent or even day-to-day basis, as I only really bought the oil blend out of support for Naptural85. Because, whatever haircare products she comes out with, I definitely will spend my coins in fir sure. Right now, it's really hot were I live at, as it has been in the 90s, and it's been getting close and closer towards reaching 100 degrees where I live st, do I had to give the style cream a break, and I have gone back to using gel-Fruit Of The Earth Aloe Vera Gel, because using a Shea based styling cream on a day-to-day basis in all of this intense heat and high humidity, I have come to realize just isn't most compatible with, but nonetheless, I do consider it to be a truly fantastic product for sure!
