So. I have thin hair. I have sparse density hair. I have 4C kinky short thin hair. I have literally the opposite of what is glorified in the natural hair community. I have reason to believe I'm not alone. And you know what? Even if I was I would love my hair just the same. It's so important to love your hair no matter how much of it there is. I love my thin natural hair.

Look: it's like the Red Sea Wow go through children of God, hi, I'm Danielle. I do too much. I like here talking cosplay, music, art and stuff hi and welcome to star puppy. I'M Danielle your resident weirdo welcome to the weirdness today is a day of Education. I just want to do a video in the same vein as this video, why you should love your 4c natural hair, something like that. I should and talk about something. That'S not really often talked about in social media in general and not particularly at all and and that would be thin fine, natural hair. I'M also going to be taking down what I hope is a braid out, but even if it's not, I must still love my fine thin natural 4c hair and intro to free off nugget fluff nugget is my head of hair fluff. Nugget is short to medium length. Fine strands which mean that the strands themselves are very skinny, 4c everywhere very consistent in that regard, and I'm appreciative medium porosity, which means that water goes into my hair, not fast, not slow speed, and it leaves my hair not too fast, not too slow, which is Pretty great for me and the topic of today, fluff nugget has sparse density. Now when people say you have thin hair. What they're actually saying is you have sparse density, which means the number of hairs on my head is lower than average. That'S what I'm talking about some people call that fine hair, which is not correct and thin hair, which is more correct, but sparse density yeah like how do you not understand that? So that's what we're going with. But if you better believe that the title of this video gon na have some kind of since Bart's fine so minute. So this is the braid out with wet line extreme gel that I tried in my last episode of star puppy versus shrinkage, and if you haven't seen that please click here, as you can see, look at that look at that part. You you see. My old Scout was not even tight like a couple months ago. It was the first time someone really noticed that I don't have thick hair. I just don't have sparse density hair and I was doing my hair for some kind of star puppy versus something, and you know you can see like my whole scalp like leave it. It'S my scalp, hey Fran, you being good to my strands this day, good. But someone asked me if I had a bald patch and I was like huh and then they put the time stamp and I was like. Oh no, that's just my scalp. I could see it at all times. It'S fine and, first of all, no, I do not have traction alopecia. No, I do not have any form of alopecia. No, I don't have any medical issues that contribute to hair loss. No, no! No! No! No! No! No! Some people, like me, just don't, have a lot of hair and it feels really weird to say that, and it probably feels weird to hear that in, like a very honest and candid way, let's discuss our gon na put some sweet almond oil on my hands to Decrease freeze, let's see first and foremost, I'm gon na just say it sparse density, hair, thin hair. We will say thin hair from now on, because you know I'm talking about thin. Hair gets like no love when it comes to a representation like online Instagram commercials, because as you'll know, I or maybe you don't know whatever you about to know now. I am an actor and model in Atlanta Georgia and there is a ton of natural hair stuff that happens here when it comes to glorification, seeing like models and commercials for haircare and I'm talking the natural brands, we're not talking Aussie moist we're talking. Well, I'm not gon na say anything cuz. I want to work with all those companies, but you know who I'm talking about pretty much. Everybody you're you'd be hard-pressed to find someone with sparse density, someone with thin hair and you might catch someone with short hair. Don'T get that confused, they still probably have pretty decently thick hair, but it's not often that you're gon na see anyone's scalp in a commercial, but the reality of it is not everyone in the natural hair community, people who have cut off their hair and are part Of this community and this movement, not all of us have thick hair. In fact, I might I'm. I my reason to believe that a good chunk of people actually don't have thick hair, but they don't really post about it. Since there's really not a lot of role, models or idols or people that were aspiring to look like online, so that sucks, I'm very proud to be a youtuber who has sparse density. Hair cuz, like do y'all, know anybody without a hair on their head. In this YouTube space, because generally and like no shade or anything but typically natural, hair, bloggers and vloggers, especially when it comes to like the kinky or tighter textures you, you won't see the people with like two or three people's worth of hair on their heads. And it's don't get me wrong. It'S absolutely stunning! I am NOT here to say that that is not beautiful, because I'm subscribed to them too. So I don't get to say nothing, nothing. We can't all be 935 there. I said it or the urban Bush babies with like just a sickening amount, just a sickening main honey like geez, Louise, it's incredible, it's incredible but like who do you know in the spotlight with a following like that without like just a ton of hair, just a Ton - and I understand it's kind of what we're all going for there has to be something there has to be an ideal. You know, and the ideal very much so has been determined in our community to not be sparse density hair. I didn't make the rules and do not even like florals, but I know the rules so there's that so I'm doing my best to beyond here and test things and show that not having a bunch of hair is okay and pretty cool. Sometimes we'll see about this breakup, okay, hmm! Another drawback is that some Styles, just ain't gon na work for thin hair. It'S just not gon na happen. Someone in my real life, like suggested, like we were pressed for time and she suggested like hey. Why are you just like where's, some bantu knot, so I was like out outside that. Does not leave this household young, lady? Oh! No! Oh! No! Have you ever seen many twists on thin hair, it's just it! When I was in corporate America yeah. I was in corporate America once plot-twists I wore a mini twist to work one day and fortunately I was the only black person who worked at this establishment. So no one knew how bad it looked not to say if you have sparse density hair, you can't make some mini twist work for you. Danielle cannot make them work for Danielle. As for me in my house, as far as what I want to present to the world - and that is not necessarily my entire scalp - you can see like my whole head, my guy's like weirdos, like you, can see my head there. It is like there's. No look. It'S like the Red Sea Wow, I'm not a fan of that and that's my own opinion about my own head of hair. So no one can tell me nothing which brings me to another point. Another drawback, it's just a reality. I and my personal hair journey find that I have to style my hair more often than my thicker haired friends, because when you just have a bunch of hair, it looks a little more together. Just because it's like an art, a single shape, couldn't look a little abstract by itself, but adding repetition and density and multiplying one pattern makes it look intentional as a finished piece case in point patterns. So when you don't have the density to kind of just wear whatever you don't really have the choice to just wear your hair messy. I can't wear my hair mess. There'S not enough of it to convince people. It was a choice or a style. That'S what I'm getting at and again I'm talking about my personal experience. If you want to go and do whatever you want, that's fine you're probably grown. If not then consult an adult, but for me and my house we will have a braid out. Another thing: that's just kind of a drawback and kind of it's been a challenge for me is that you can see through my hair, that's irritating. I don't like that. You can see through my hair, but that has always been the case in terms of filming. It looks a little bit thicker than it actually is, and as far as photography, it looks easily 50 to 70 percent, denser than it actually is, which is very helpful for my sparse density is thin hair, but you can't document it also. Lighting can play a huge role in how I feel about my hair, if I'm kind of down in the dumps about it not being thick and never going to be thick. Unless I take probably like surgical action, for instance, I have a full-length mirror right there and I have a giant window right here and right there. So I am always backlit when I'm checking out my full look, which is terrible because it looks like I have roughly I'd say like three strands of hair on my head. It'S just a rough estimate. You know just some guesswork, it's just the rough numbers. I can. I can can do a little more by the end of the week, but um, and this one is a little more personal. I think all of these can be very classified as Danielle just ranting about her head of hair and if you find that you agree, then that's cool, but this I feel like is maybe just a me thing. I really really like hair I've, always loved hair and I've always drawn hair I've painted hair. I think it's so beautiful in all of its arms across race, age, gender, whatever style, I love hair. For me, it really symbolizes and is it's very integral in my sense of closeness with someone hair? Is such an intimate thing? It'S not quite part of your body, but it's like the extension of your mind and your brain. It'S getting a little artsy fartsy, I'm hearing it too. Don'T worry, I'm bringing it back, but I think it's such an intimate and close-knit thing to touch someone's hair and when it comes to romantic relationships. Absolutely I am all up in your may so yeah I like hair and to me I can never return that favor, I don't let people touch my hair even when we are together, like don't touch me here, because it's so brittle. Not only do I not have a ton of it and I don't have a lot of strands to like spare if you're, not gentle with it or very well-versed in touching black hair, like I also have those fine strands we were talking about, so my hair, in Particular has one hit point: it can take one hit and then it's gone, so I can't reciprocate that thing that I love so much to do in all of my personal relationships so like that sucks. This is like a nitpicky one, and I know that this exists in, like all great, like the entire scope of how many hairs you can have on your head in terms of density, but, like I feel personally when either Oh perfect example, I am at my most Vulnerable right before I pick out my hair or right after I've, installed a style and haven't put on my scarf yet like even like my friends, like my long-term friends, you're gon na be hard-pressed to see me in between the installation phase and the scarf application faves. I do not want people to see my thin hair and all my scalp out blowing in the wind. Meanwhile, I put it on the internet all the time and I'm about to be at that stage very shortly. Hi, I'm Danny five strands now plot twist. Those were a whole bunch of the drawbacks and the challenges the realities of having not thick hair. But you know what there's actually a bunch of pros. First and foremost, I'm recording this and I still took all of those braids down and about to fluff out and be done in less than 20 minutes, and also it goes the same way for my nighttime routine, like I can style my hair in like 15 minutes And that's not even me, rushing also my hair doesn't tangle as much. I'M not sure if this is fluff nuggets thing or if other people with kind of fine, sparse density hair, also find that, like your hair doesn't get mad, I mean there's only five hairs. What'S there to fight about, I'm not sure if this is a fine like strand thing, but my hair is also incredibly soft, like it's pretty much soft all the time, unless I tried it extra hard also, once you learn how to work with your hair, you could Fake thickness, this is your best friend in that endeavor by the way, also again styling, while it can't achieve every style, because it just can't not in the way that I want it to look like it can still do a bunch of cute stuff like once. You learn how to work with your hair. You can really pull off some really cute styles and as a bonus round, because we don't do our hair for men now. Do we but men don't know the difference. In my opinion, in my experience, women are typically the ones who can tell if you have thick or thin hair. I think, for the most part and in my opinion and in my experience, men, don't care cuz they're, just like yeah that so, if that's kind of like an intimidation factor like you, think you can't pull them because you have five strands of hair like me now You could pull them. Trust me. You can also those cute styles, you can do it like half the time. It'S like a cheat code. It'S like a it's like a secret path. In a like a racing game, you just go through the waterfall and then you're at you're, bad to not out in half the time, yay and last, but certainly not least. I would definitely argue that this is the most important take away from the plot twist pros of having fine, thin, sparse density. Whatever you want to call it hair, like I'm just happy, I have hair. Do you know how many people don't have hair and want to? I'M grateful for all five of you ain't that right, Huey, Dewey, Louie, chewy and Bantu it yeah look at that. I done doubled my strands from five to ten. Look at God, I'm so grateful for each and every one of my strands in all seriousness, because there was a time in my life where I did have bald patches. This is not thick hair, but you know what it's mine, which makes me love it. That'S it LIKE and subscribe, I upload on Saturday. MiamiPush2theLimit: People see my 4c hair and go “it’s sooo thick!!!” I’m like if I straighten this out it would be so flat and lifeless.

Faustine J. Louis: "I can't wear my hair messy, there's not enough of it to convince people it was a choice" lmaooooooo #starpuppy #weirdblackgirl

Peaceful Teacup: When you said “hey friend” to your scalp, I couldn’t help but smilee. Speaking to your body kindly like that is such a great stepping stone to achieving self love and I admire the example that you’re setting for otherss

Amber James: “I can’t wear my hair messy. There’s not enough of it to convince people that it was a choice.” I. CACKLED. you are hiLARIOUS and I just discovered your channel yesterday (7/29 in the year of COVID) and I’m dying watching some of your videos. Keep giving us life with your content, girl!

Thepookiestpookie: This is the only channel I can watch about hair that doesn’t make me feel even worse. One thing I might add, hair is probably one of the most important tributes to your appearance, so it bothers me when other people act like it isn’t a big deal. It is really frustrating that your hair is the thing keeping you from doing anything because you simply don’t want to put up with it. I personally get really annoyed whenever I look in a mirror and see it knowing I WANT to do something with it, but all the hairstyles I want to do aren’t possible with my natural hair.

DeAndrea McKenzie: I swear I be watching these girls do braid outs and twists outs and ONE of their twist be the same size as my entire head in a ponytail!

Gaia Mjali Moreau: i was so excited with my slow growing hair, someone said to me, "are you serious, you have been growing your hair for 4 years?" lol, i felt like crawling under a freakin rock.

ikestat: I’m a man with the same type of hair and never was really able to explain this. Love you for this sis. Big LOVE to you ❤️

Alaina Richardson: Thank God for your existence. I grew up getting relaxers and presses so I honestly have no clue what my natural hair type is. But my 10 year old is definitely 4c and most of it just broke off after a two month protective style. I'm good with relaxed hair but am a fish out of water with her curls and coils. You give us hope. She watched this video with me and I watched her disappointment and hopelessness melt away as she laughed and understood you in ways she couldn't with other youtubers. So thank you so much. You helped get my star player's head in the game.

Breana Higgins: I’m so glad there’s videos of “thin” 4C hair. It’s so hard to find videos that really pertain to my hair. My hair has so much space and I put in mini twist (but only to put up in a ponytail) and it’s looks thin and scraggly at times. For the longest, I wondered why my hair never turned out like the ones in videos. Now I know and am not alone. Thank you!!!!!

Rayna Jay: I subscribed because your a weird black girl and I’m a weird black girl. And honestly we could kick it.

Pumpkin McQueen: There isn't a lot of representation for us in the natural hair community. I can't do mini twists and have it look good. I can't do a lion mane because I end up with gaps. When it's short, it looks like I have a ton. When it grows out you see the gaps and it flops over. Fluffing doesn't help it just makes me frizzy because I can't hide that I'm still sparse. I have to style it or else I look like I'm on crack.

Chevelle Bailey: There is no way I could have articulated my feelings about my fine "thin" hair better!!!!!

Dorothy: My head is gigantic, on top of having thin 4c hair. The struggle is real cause I lost some edgesI'm 19 and look 75.

ovananda2: Mine is sparse density too, but tangles like crazy. CRAZY.

poetic walrus: My sister has hair like this too. I really appreciate you being so....different, from other natural bloggers/YouTubers. They all have such thICCC hair, and so seeing you so confident about your hair is incredibly comforting.

trianna2008: "We can't all be Nap85. There, I said it!" Sis, why are you SO FUCKING funny?!!! Subscribed!

Lynnette Howell: Sparse density hair, big found face, and a large head makes me always look like I have some hair loss issues. Having a hard time to love attempting to love my 4 c thin natural hair..

Fay: I'm only seeing this now and glad I did. I have sparse density hair. Twist outs are scary on me looking like I've been electrocuted, messy, and thin. I see these girls with their luscious thick hair and think erm greedy why you got my share of hair give it back! my hair has been like this since I was born. Growing up I didnt have much hair. Even when I had a relaxer many years ago, my hair was thin. I've always had fine hair. My hair has to always be styled nicely! But I've embraced my 4c sparse density hair. Thank you for the video.

Bella Don: My hair is JUST like that!!! Omg I haven’t found anyone on YouTube with similar hair texture. I got so fed up wit my hair I cut it all off! I been happy ever since . Thank god for wigs.. but you are absolutely beautiful

Peshy and Gifted: The intro The positive vibe The humor The realness Thanks YouTube for recommending starpuppy I have sparse density too, and love when the thick haired girls ask how I style my hair

Neza foju: Ugh where has this girl been my whole life? I have fine, thin soft short 4b hair. Protective style they say, how can I when the hair starts to look ancient after 3 days? So I feel like I'm in an endless cycle where it never gets past my neck.

lee Marrr: "I mean there's only 5 hairs ,what's there to fight about "-sis I felt that on a spiritual level

Jan's Life: You have a great channel that feeds so many thin hair sparse density 4c people like myself. I came across your quirky, honest and empowering platform today! So glad to know someone validate my hair journey. Keep it up‼️

chanel lawrence: I love her sense of humour, she had me dyingggg. I suffer the same thing here in the UK hun.

Brittany Barrows: I love the weirdness and positivity about having natural hair

NaturallyFTW: This was so much motivation. I have always been insecure about having “thinish”hair but your right! Some people have no hair so Im grateful and thankful. Also your personality just makes it all the better and you’re so beautiful . KEEP ON THRIVING SIS!!

Rebekah Miller: Low density hair - the struggle is REAL. Thanks for representing!...There is a reason I am wearing a beanie in my default picture #scalpshowing. You are hilarious. Loved the plot twist! Thanks for being so positive and so real. Even though my texture is different than yours with my 2a/b hair, omgee, the low density struggle is real. In high school a "friend" said I had a "Coconut head" : /. Rude. Anyway, working on embracing my low density with learning how to work with it. Thanks again for the representation. Keep it up.

Cydne Elysse: IM SO EXCITED TO FIND SOMEONE WITH ALMOST THE EXACT SAME TYPE OF HAIR AS ME. OMG. OMG. OMG.

Tiarrea B Just Doing Me: *My hair struggle: For years I have struggled with length retention. *What I am thankful for: This year I am finally seeing my hair move comfortably into the double digits. Yay!! *Main reason I am now retaining length: I finally left my hair ALONE... I now do low/no maintenance styles like wigs and twist for longer periods of time. You can follow my journey on my youtube channel. Shout out to Star Puppy for creating a space for us to grow together. Love her! Star puppy awwaayyy!

Irene Hogan: I’m glad you spoke about this. There are so many people who confuse tighter textures with thicker hair. I have fine 4c hair and low density but people think it’s thick because of the way I comb out my twists outs (not really twist outs because you can’t see any twists). IT’S AN ILLUSION!!!

genialhorton: Personality + Truthfulness = Subscribed

Lovingurcurls: Dang this needs a wholeee lotta more recognition, especially hair companies need to see this!!

MiChal Vazquez: It was the Red Sea part for me! My hair was thicker before and then I’ve had 5 children and after my last 3 my hair has NEVER been the same....LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR HONESTY N UR HILARIOUS!!!!!!

Rational Female: I literally at least once a week ask myself while styling “am i losing my hair”. You are the first person who talked about have thin hair. I once had a hair stylist correct me when said my hair was thin. She said “ no its fine not this” but I’m thinking to myself I think its both. You’ve confirmed it is yes indeed both. My hair is so fine and so thin. I’m so grateful for my curly hair even though its a pain sometimes but my hair would be so gross if it was straight. Thank you just thank you.

themrs36: I am so thankful to have found your page. In this video you addressed ALL of the things. I've had locs for 13 years and have decided to comb them out and rock my natural hair for a time frame. As I comb out these locs my greatest concern was my "thin" hair. Finding youtubers or social influences like yourself with "thin" hair hasn't been a thing. In this moment you have giving me the courage to continue with this new journey. Thank you for your content, thank you for your knowledge and thank you for the beautiful energy you bring.

Akouto Von: Struggle: My hair wont grow at all. :( Been having the same length since 2016 Love: I don't have to style it and it still looks good! :)

Mae: i really love you for making this video i didn’t know what the hell was wrong with my hair, that’s exactly how my hair looks but i just recently watched one of your videos on how to make it grow and i’ve been doing it so

BAMBII C.: I just found this channel but i see myself so much in you like your behavior your way of talking and explaining stuff and your hair. I feel so seen i almost feel inspired enough to finally start making videos.

LaTesa Madkins: I watch You for Inspiration and Motivation to care for my hair. I try very hard to not compare my hair to any of the women I watch. Every grade of hair growing out our heads is different [.] We can only hope these products advertised are good enough to inspire our individual scalps to grow. I enjoy watching Star Puppy's TRUTH TO REALITY! It's been a challenge encouraging my 22 y/o to do the same. Thanks Star Puppy! Wishing you All the Best!!

Anne-Marie Sichinga: Thank you so much for doing this video. It’s impossible finding representation for women with our kind of hair so it’s really encouraging seeing another black woman publicly show us some love. I needed it sis!

Latoya Williams: I struggle with the same issues with my hair. People automatically think my hair is dry or thick. My pros are I can add very little heat to my hair to straighten and it holds oils pretty well. Cons! My twist outs look different and there aren't a whole lot of products out there that work well with my hair. They are either too heavy or too light

Zen Livingston: Omg sis thank you so much for talking about this! My hair is thin too and I can SO relate. We need to hear more from ALL different types of naturals. I really appreciate you.

Lola Id.: A Youtuber I can finally relate to. Fine haired naturals unite!

Rebecca Sirmon: I have the same type of sparse hair. I’m so glad to see someone else feels proud of it. I now feel like I’m ok with sparse hair.

Monica Colvin: Thanks for your videos! I went from having thick hair--no one wanted to braid it and ppl teased me about having fake hair---to 5 strands at 50. My daughter inherited my hair, so I am happy to no longer have all that comb-breaking, brush-breaking hair at this age. She has enough for both of us, but thanks for helping me understand how to style it. Love you!

Charlene Tombar: You’re hilarious! I never thought about why people I know are so self conscious about the sparse density. I found your video because I realized that my daughter’s hair is like yours. I’m trying hard not to damage it.

Melissa I: I LOVED this video. I'm thankful for my low density, thin, short (wish it were longer already), 4c hair. I"m grateful for each and every strand and the hairline that's growing back! Thank you for your honesty. You represent more people than you know. Keep em coming! Blessings

Merci-Jardine: I keep coming to this point 10:57 *"I can't wear my hair messy, there's not enough of it to convince people it was a choice"* somebody come pick me up off the floor

ElleDotPark: I just found your page tonight and I immediately fell in [platonic] love. It’s always amazingly beautiful, weird black girls with “thin” natural hair because I am her. I got fed up with it and it seems like my hair always thrives best in locs but chiiiiile my scalp is always like “HEY SIS!!” I appreciate you. Instant subscribe.

Brittany: I love this video!! Thank you so much for representing for us sparse density hair girls! I also love the love you show yourself ❤️

Shauna Jones: I just found your channel and WOW, this describes me to a tee! While most people wish for long hair, I've always wanted thick hair, thanks for representing the thin density community!!

mygoshohgolly: I'm sooo glad that I've found your channel! You speak so articulately, and have shone a light on something that seems sort of hush hush in our community :) Black hair is beautiful but there are still social ideals in place that define a hierarchy of what is 'beautiful'

JJJade2468: Finally!!! Somebody once asked me if i had a scar on my head. IT WAS MY SIDE PART.

Tiffani Garnett: I’m literally sitting here after watching your video that popped up in my feed and am now feeling so affirmed! I remember my kiddo telling me I had a bald spot and felt mortified. I thought it was thinning due to aging and my med ( which may cause thinning), but because I never paid too much attention to this, I had nothing to compare it too. And watching hair videos def made me more self-aware. THANK YOU for highlighting and normalizing the LD/thin experience, and reminding us how privileged we’re really are to even have something to comb!

Nicole Yancey: Found this video and found it super helpful! Never realized I had fine hair until I got a silk press... and was wondering what happened to the thickness of my hair that was in its natural curly state. I appreciate that may hair grows, especially in length. But I also feel like I shed hair just as much as it grows.

Helga Campos: I'm just so amazed/excited of how much our hairs look alike! I feel like I hit jackpot when I found your youtube channel; I don't have to try the products or tools and go through the emotional rollercoaster myself lol. I see a sad face thumbnail and I know it won't work for me

kristin manu: I had thin natural hair at one point and I was feeling the same way, I knew thats not what I wanted my natural hair to be so i decided to shave my hair completely! and start from scratch, it was the best thing I have ever done to my hair, I used new methods and ideas and now my hair has grown!!!!! My hair is way thicker than it was before it even stresses me out how think it is but I said who cares and just cut and now I love my natural hair more than ever.

Morenike Fashina: Thin natural hair barely gets the appreciation that thick hair gets and it’s sad ☹️

Yudee Udochukwu: Thank you so much for making this video! I've was feeling bad about my hair breaking off today, and this really helped me

L P: Not only did I battle with being a (thick) plus size girl, and deal with my brown skin, but I HAD to accept my 4c hair too. Those all were a struggle sometimes but the older I get.... you realize that you can’t change it. It’s just how God made you! You have no choice but to accept it.... treat your hair like it matters.... learn your hair. Use products that makes your hair softer. (Thick creams and butters and oils only.... no coconut, it’s to thin for my hair ) Trim like once a month (because my hair also grows so damn slow)..... don’t often wash your hair... (because it’s brittle beyond belief and it get dry even in the shower) but wet it water and leave in and put oil to seal moisture then twist or braid then its fine (This is how I learned my hair) my hair is kinda course, semi thick. Semi shoulder length, brittle when wet, extremely coily so shrinkage is on 100, just dry. So yea... I... love... my hair i have to work with it everyday and make it work with me. My puffs are always on point tho!!!..rant over!

vanillall1: I have sparse density hair but...no one believes me when it's dry. I've stopped trying to explain it to anyone but I'm right here with you ‍♀️ I get single strand knots super easily but my 5 strands shine well in the light

Tershauna Broadnax: I needed this video.. Low density type 4 hair videos are so hard to come by. & it took me one flat iron session after being natural for years to realize that my hair is thin/low density. I've accepted it & glad I found your videos.

Tracy Gibson: You are hilarious! I appreciate your honesty, I am a 4C sista and I love my hair. I embrace my afro but i dont compare my hair to others. Having 4C hair requires you to be dedicated and of course have patience too. Our hair is amazing sistas, embrace and love it!! God bless you!

Zachary Drake: Fine strand high density 4a/4b natural over here! Greatly Appreciated hearing you share the pros and cons of thin low density natural hair. Very informative video. Hope it’s helps someone with a similar texture understand there hair better. We share a similar strand size but my hair is a lot fuller/dense then yours. Figured I’d share the pros and cons of high density fine hair as well. Cons: Extremely prone to tangling and Matting . Fine strands tend to wrap around each other more then thick strands do. But it’s even worse when you have a lot more strands to tangle up on each other Detangling sessions are longer for you since you have a lot of knots in your hair and you have to take your time to be very gentle otherwise you can easily snap your hair off. Finger detangling works best for me but takes forever. Your hair gets weighed down if your using too many heavy products and it can look thin and stuff. Mini twists and braids/mini twist and braid outs, can make your hair look very flat and thin. Chunkier ones come out better. More prone to breakage and split ends then other naturals. Needs more frequent trims. Pros: Frizz isn’t a problem. My hair always has lots of definition no matter how I style it. Fewer twists and braids Styles last longer

Deborah Purvis: Sis, I laughed WITH you through the whole video! I feel you so much! I have thin, thin, baby cotton soft,4c hair too! Love your humor, "going through the red sea, children of God, "( lol )helps the pain and anquish of not having enough hair. Big chopped over, and over, trying to grow, or should I say, "little chop", wasn't much there to start with. you give me confidence to do me, it is what it is! I'm a beautiful black woman, inside and out, esp. working on love and kindness. I AM NOT MY HAIR!

Samantha: I identified with this whole thin 4c episode. I thought it was just me and because you spoke on it, it helps me to understand that this is an actual phenomenon. Thank you ! Star puppy for the truth and humor.

Mariana Botelho-Lipham: I’m about to cry here. How many times I tried and failed when following instructions from hair tutorials from YouTubers with thickly hair. Now I know why and it means the world to me that I’m not alone!!!

T and Z RV Life: I loved hair too. I had my hair flat iron's for the first time in 7 years and realized my hair is on the less dense normal strand side. Your hair is so beautiful. I wanted to let you know I did a video last week and this week on my journey from twa to waist length natural grey hair. I hope you can watch it.

Miz Justice: Thank you soooooooo much! Watching this video uncovered how depressed I was about my thin hair.. the reality... but this video was also very encouraging that I dont have to be ashamed either. I do have hair and does grow.. you can just see through it.

Karen Reed: Thank you sis! It's almost a stigma within our community to not have thick hair. Mine is so thin that when I straighten it, people think I have a perm. I've never permed or relaxed my hair! It's just thin. I have a good length but, just not thick.

ADM: Love you!!!! I feel better watching this! I do have alopecia and my hair has thinned and at 35 it’s been hard especially since I’ve been dealing with alopecia since about 25. I’m thankful to just have hair as you said. Sometimes I’m hard on myself because my twist outs looks so thin but I’m thankful I’m not alone. I would kill to have even your thickness at the crown! ❤️ anyway thank you for this video. Nice to see someone whose hair actually looks like mine

Victoria René: I really appreciate this because I’m so over never seeing anybody talk about about thin hair

Candilocs: I felt this in my soul. Thank goodness I'm almost three months into my starter locs and all that I've been doing have hair follicles I didn't know exist sprouting hair... I think if I saw this channel a year ago it would've helped me wth my loose natural hair a lot.

Ghibli Fiend: I'm glad you made this video! When I did mini twists yesterday I realised how different mine and my mums hair is. She has hers in mini twists too and we both have type 4 hair but she also has sparse density and fine strands but her hair is very soft and hardly tangles. Where as mine is high density, coarse thick strands that tangle alllll the time but at the nape of my neck my hair is not high density and I have fine strands and its not even type 4 its 3c and its soft and never tangles lmaoo.

Kim F.: My black hair is super soft, curly, easy to manage, but extremely thin. I like your hair and personality. I'm glad I found your channel.

N G: Love your videos! I have the same type of hair and its taken forever to find anybody talking about our kind of hair issues. I’ll def be trying those amla and hibiscus powders! Length retention and breakage have always been a problem for me (and Ive been a natural long before it was a trend)!

TvP: I truly do not understand how you always manage to be a perfect blend of educational, soothing and absolutely hilarious. Your personality is so dope! This was awesome, thank you!

Erika Hampton: I’m just gonna go on and gush about how funny, and honest you are. Your videos are the only ones worth watching to the end. You’re so personable that it feels like I’m having a conversation with my friend. I can easily believe that you’ll go far in your career she said “my strands only have one hp” too real

Ms. Lady Sanders: OMG!! I didn't know it I should laugh or cry watching this....So I did both! I needed this. My hair is exactly like yours and after watching lots of so called "4C" videos, this one is the best!! Thanks from your new subscriber. ❤

Bridge Whaaat: Thank you for this. I am 2 months into my natural hair journey and I have sparse hair that will only get worse... thaaaaaanks genetics. Seeing this video makes me feel better about seeing my scalp all the time. Thank you!

Rebaone Taunyane: Oh my gosh!! I am so happy I stumbled upon this video I laughed so much! I can totally relate! Wow! Didn’t think there were people who are going through the same thing as me! Man you got it to the T! Every point! Completely resonates

Timaloveslemons: i love that you're talking about this because i have friends with this type of hair and that are natural with NO forms of hair loss issues. I'm working on my issue with high-porosity atm lol

Phia and fam: My daughter has almost your exact hair texture and density. It has been a true learning experience, finding how to feed it what it needs and learn when sis does not want to be touched. Your channel has been instrumental in that education. Thank you for being so candid and taking the time to create free content. Extra appreciation because you're hilarious. Chuey Dewey Huey luey and bantuey lol.

The Belle Life: My hair struggle: I have a thin/practically bald spot in the middle of my hair that makes me pretty insecure. But I’m grateful because my hair is pretty dense and thick so most people never see it. Thin spots run in my family (apparently), but I’m hoping with time, it will fill back in. If not, I’m still grateful for the hair I’ve been blessed with ❤️ thanks for sharing this video..it was so funny and inspiring. I’m a new YouTuber, so I’m hoping I can become just as comfortable in front of the camera as you are!

Evan Sweeney: in all my natural hair research I always felt that disconnect like I can't do that with my hair, I don't have enough hair for ANY OF THAT. But with you StarPuppy I feel so seen. We have the same exact type of hair and I have learned so much just from watching you. I have so many things I want to try now that I know a few things I can do with my hair.

Sherree Bradley: My hair is exactly like yours. I’ve been natural since 2003, and I made peace with my thin hair. I NEVER do twist outs. It looks too scacey. I’ve accepted the fact that I have to destroy the twist out to give the style some volume. I’m good with all that. And for what it’s worth, my hair looks pretty dang cute because it’s healthy. So does yours.

Christina Morris: My hair twin! I was wondering why everybody had juicy twists and mine were tiny and sparse! You give me hope

LizAjuzieMusic: It's SOOOO good to see this. I'm like you, but my whole family has super dense hair and I've always felt so left out. And the natural community is really intense about hair density/thickness so I can't ever relate. THANK YOU FOR THIS!❤

joosoo: I follow you because of this kinda video. Your personality is great. I'm not black/have 4c hair, but I do have thin, fine 3a/3b hair. It's sooo hard to get the volume I want without being frizzy and I struggled a long time too to feel love for my mane when all these girls got huge thick curls.

A J: MicroLocks are working out great for me with my sparse frail 4c hair for length retention FOR ME. Natural loose hair for 8 years and couldn't grow beyond shoulders. Locks are a lot less maintenance

callynt: Your hair is just beautiful. I have sparse density hair as well, and grew up when relaxers became popular in the late 70s and 80s. Had I known then what I know now, I would not have put my hair and my emotions through the trauma of trying to mimic those with dense hair.

Nikki: Wow, here I've been so sad about my thin 4c hair, contemplating keeping it short. I've never seen anyone with my hair density. Thank you for existing!

Renee Zachary: I love you babe, my hair is the same way. I waisted so much time hating my real hair. And trying to cover up my balding thin areas. I love your humor and I'm new to your channel

Hope Houston: Girrrrrrrllllll....you had me laughing out loud the whole time. Your hair is much denser than mine, and it's beautiful! I must say that I enjoyed this hair talk! I am learning to embrace my low density, high porosity hair as I age ( I'm 45) which is difficult sometimes. But your personality is so lively! I hope that you accomplish allllll of your goals in this lifetime. xoxo

Ojong Baa. E: This is me always wondered what I didn't do well for my hair to be thin. Now I am embracing every strand of my hair

beautifulja can: "I can't wear my hair messy, there's not enough of it to convince people it was a choice." I felt that in the depths of my soul

Brenda Kathurima: Girl, I feel SEEN-T!! My hair is even more finer and I thought I was alone. Thank you for standing in the gap.

TJ Dorsett: Thank you for this video! You encourage me to love my hair more. I have thin, low density high porosity hair with centrifugal alopecia from lupus and its been a real journey to self love!

Sally Martin: I used to really struggle with my hair being super straight because everyone I knew in school was using wands and curling their hair or just curly hair was what was considered pretty, but now that I am older I am actually really thankful for my straight hair because it is easy to grow out.
