I never thought I'd get to the point where my hair is constantly in a messy, bun or pineapple, but that day has arrived. One child no problems. I had time to wash my hair deep condition it stain and make it look cute now with two children. Forget it, my hair has been in this bun for weeks. Oh, don't worry. I have washed my hair, but once it's dry its back up in this bun, that's just one reason why you haven't seen me on YouTube for a while. I just haven't been able to do anything with my hair, because I'm too tired and with all of this lazy, bun wearing my scalp, is been feeling really dry and itchy. So in this video, I'm gon na share how I use tea tree oil to help soothe my scalp in many of my previous videos. You'Ve seen me talk about tea tree oil and how much I love it. There are so many antiseptic antibacterial, antifungal properties and there's a variety of ways you can use it. For instance, you can use it for blemishes for skin irritations to help with dry scalp for dandruff to get rid of lice as a household cleaner as an insect repellent. But today we're just gon na focus on how to use it for your dry and itchy scalp. Let me first drop this disclaimer that tea tree oil is really potent and, like all essential oils, you should use a carrier oil to help dilute them before you apply. It also before you use tea tree oil, make sure you test it out to make sure you don't have any sensitivities or reactions or irritations to it. I like to do a patch test like right here in this inner elbow area. Whatever that's called, and that's usually how I find out wait about 24 hours and if you see like there's some sort of redness or irritation that shows up, then maybe you shouldn't be using it. So recently, brioche EO sent over there B well organic and Australian 100 % tea tree oil, it's steam, distilled non-gmo and very high quality. So there are a couple different ways I like to use tea tree oil in my hair, routine. One way is to add it to my shampoo, so you can add it directly to the shampoo bottle or add a drop or two in your hand and mix it in with your shampoo and then apply to your head. Another way to use it is as part of a nightly scalp massage again, you are going to make sure that you dilute this with a carrier oil and because my hair is on the fine and low density side I like to use jojoba or argan oil. As my carrier, oil and then I'll add a drop or two of the tea tree oil to it, then I rub my hands together to make sure that my fingertips are saturated and I gently massage my scalp, the massage plus the benefits of the tea tree. Oil are going to help stimulate the scalp. You don't need a lot of this mixture, especially if your hair is on the fine side, because if you don't plan to wash it out in the morning, you are not going to want those flat roots. Your other option is to leave it in overnight and wash it out in the morning, so just by using it in my shampoo and also as a part of my nightly scalp massage, I do feel a huge relief from the itchiness another way you can use. It is as a pretreatment, so before you wash your hair, you can mix the tea tree oil with the carrier, oil and when you're doing this, you can also use a heavier oil because it will be washed out. So this is maybe the only time I will use coconut oil because it is so heavy, but it does to tangle really good. So what I'll do is I'll melt? A half a cup of coconut oil and add about two to three drops of the tea tree? Oil to the mixture, I first work it into my scalp so that it's saturated and then I give myself a little scalp massage then, with the remaining mixture, I like to add it to the rest of my hair and detangle. Finally, I'll just leave that on for about twenty to thirty minutes and let it do its magic and then I'll follow up with my clarifying shampoo. So those are just three ways I like to use tea tree oil to help with my dry and itchy scalp.
