If you've tried, hair, oiling and you're not seeing results, you need to stop making these five common mistakes immediately, because trust me they're the reason you're not seeing that hair growth and they can actually make your hair work. You want to make sure the oil penetrates your scalp, so to do this either warm up the oil itself or use a hair bonnet or shower cap to trap. The heat inside trust me on this mistake number two is not massaging your oil and working it into your hair, whether you have a scalp brush a regular brush or just your fingers. You need to work it in to really see those effects. Do not use the wrong hair oil for your hair type. Trust me. I have fine hair, so i have to avoid using jojoba and coconut if they're, not mixed in with lighter oils like grape seed. As i don't want to weigh my hair down. I also look for rosemary oil because it helps with hair number four, and this is key, do not use too much. You don't want your hair to look wet by the end of this. That is applying way too many oils and will actually prevent hair growth. I use about five drops and part my hair into five different sections, and if you have finer hair, you can even get away with using one to two drops and don't skip the clarifying shampoo on the nights you do this. This will make sure that your scalp stays clean, healthy and isn't weighed down.

Drina: So I called B.S. on this as a Biochemist. Hair consists of alpha-keratin. Alpha- Keratin has amino acids that are apolar/nonpolar and their side chains will bond fatty acids in oils. So, oils will bond hair no matter if you apply heat or not. Heat will probably help a little bit. But it isn't necessary. Rosemary oil has been shown to promote hair growth. So, that part is true. But the protein in hair bonds oil/fatty acids no matter what so... you can just apply it to the strand sans heat.

Babushka: I didn't know that you have to think this much just to oil your hair . And what is wrong hair oil?? I'm Indian, I've had my hair oiled by my mum and dad since I was a baby, and they always drench my hair with oil and even I like it drenched. So here's my advice or take for you or anyone reading this (btw, I've fine, straight hair and they are thick). The main and major thing that'll help your hair is Champi! that is massaging your scalp when you apply the oil, no matter what oil you use, they all work the same, unless you're allergic, buying expensive oil is just waste of money. Traditionally in India, we use Mustard oil and coconut oil and if you're really rich or something then olive oil and trust me all of the 'science' and 'hacks' behind hair oiling is just a simple thing and that is champi or massaging. People here put the oil in for 2-3 days or more, some people don't leave their hair without oiling it, but ideally I would say 1-2 days is more than enough.

Hasina Nitu: We South Asians don’t do so much things ... We just put coconut oil with our Hands ️...but still we have the best hair...don’t stress yourself for a simple thing

The Food Project: I don't listen to influencers and I think more ppl should too...anything to do with science as in hair growth, listen to the professionals. Not someone who gets their info from other youtube vids just for views. I'm so tired of everyone thinking they know the "secrets".

Noha A: U r making a mistake too by applying the oil directly to ur hair,u should warm it up the applying it to ur scalp, using ur fingers to massage the scalp isn't bad u should just be gentle( the little massage brush wasn't used decades ago and using just the fingers gave good results so why wasting the money on it,by using the fingers u can actually control how much pressure u apply to ur scalp)
