By the end of this video, you are going to know the best sea salt spray for your hair type and your budget, hello, hi. How are you i'm robin welcome back or welcome to my youtube channel this little world right here is man for himself. If you like, hair product reviews, grooming, skincare, fragrance and videos like this very one, then chances are you're gon na love it right here. Please do press subscribe right now. Okay, we are into week three of my hair products guide series really a deep dive into the world of hair products, helping you to save your money. Let me spend the money and try all these different products i'll do that, for you and i'll really help you find the best product for you and this one we're still kind of in this pre-sellers world. If you didn't see the video from last week, it will be linked up there with the rest of them um, but sea salt sprays are a fantastic, versatile product. There are so many different kinds from budget ones and drugstores all the way up to these more like premium niche ones, and just because it's more expensive, it doesn't mean it's better, and i do have some really great cheap ones here, and then i've also got a Few sort of like wild cards, which have all the properties of a sea salt spray, but aren't actually sea salt sprays. Okay. So what is a sea salt spray? A sea? Salt spray is a product you can use as a pre-styler. So really before you style your hair you're going to spritz it into damp here, you're going to scrunch it and let it dry naturally for this really great beachy, lived-in, look or spritz into damp hair and use a hair dryer to build in that texture and the Volume, if you're looking for a quiff you're looking for a sort of textured side part, then a sea salt spray is going to be great for that or if you've got very long hair. And you just want to add a bit of movement to limp here. Then sea salt spray is also going to do that: hair, dryer or dry naturally, but they are going to add texture. So it's all about that sort of gritty movement, they're going to add body which is really kind of um, the swelling of the hair. How big it looks and they tend to add volume, but really we're going to be looking at texture right in my time on youtube and before that i've tried. So many and one of my favorite budget products is fudge urban rough up, sea salt spray. This is the round about the five pound mark um. I will link it down below i'll, find global prices and i'll also give you uk prices where i'm based high they're, also a man from self.com hundreds of products on there just go on there. You can filter down the left of the site or on mobile, just press the top, and it's going to give you all the products you want then from there you can do it by price. The reason why this is in this top five is because it gives loads and loads of texture. It fills it. If anything, you need to go slightly less on this, because it really does really saturate the hair. Now, i would say huge generalization, but i'm going to go with it: the cheaper, the product, the less conditioning that the product has sea salt sprays are generally made up of this texturizing agent, plus a conditioning agent and really, if you were to make your own one, It would be a conditioner, it would be salt dissolved in water and then a couple of essential oils. You can do that. You can mess around with that and try. If you want um, i did do a video a few years ago, i'll link it up there, but i just think best to buy them. So if you are just starting out in a sea salt spray - or you don't want to spend much, this is really great. Also fudge urban: i really think it's a fantastic brand and in terms of these more accessible price points, they've got some really really great products, another one which is in the budget and but i think, has more of these conditioning agents and leaves the hair slightly smoother. So this one great if you've got limp lifeless, hair at limp lifeless, i'm so sorry that was just a bit harsh uh best. If you kind of got limp here on a budget this one slightly smoother than the hair, tony and guy sea salt texturizing spray. I shot a video um in new york glam and i used this product. This is really really great. You'Ve got all that texture, it adds in volume and it's not going to totally dry the hair out. You will find with a lot of sea salt sprays. Your hair is going to feel dry. It might feel quite brittle. It'S not going to feel good. If that is the case with those products stop using them, your hair doesn't deserve it honestly go for a product that is gon na, have more of the conditioning agents. Um, so i really really like this one again: it's around about maybe the nine pound mark so slightly more expensive. My favorite i'm sea salt spray and it is more sort of in the premium line it's round about the 18 pound mark um about 23 dollars is where i find it is sasha wan ocean mist. If you've been with me for some time. You know i've spoken about this before this is maybe my fourth one. I love this because it has texture like no other, but it also has really great conditioning agents. My hair doesn't feel dry, it feels texturized and it feels like it's got a really great sort of hydration to it. What i do with this one is, i actually mix it with my usual pre-styler. I saw last week. Actually we had some questions, hello. If that's you asking, can you mix two pre-stylers? I would say yes and i would mix them if they are both um a spray, so something more like liquid. If they're, not both a spray, i would go for the slightly heavier product first and then go lighter and lighter all the way up. So this tends to be a bit lighter, but i would maybe do a primer, so i spoke about primers last week. Don'T worry if this is like another language. I spoke about primers. I spray that, and then i add a bit of this or you can maybe go with a thickening spray i'll be talking about them next week. Notifications on just means, you're not going to miss out i'd, go with a thickening spray, and then i would layer this on top, but really great weightless volume, with loads of really good conditioning properties. Pretty sure this is the holy grail product is that a holy grail? I think it might be okay, so those are kind of like my top three in terms of traditional sea salt sprays, but there are other products which have all the goodness overseas of us usual spray plus more and i'm going to tell you about those now. The first one is surf foam by bumble and bumble. This is a hybrid product. It'S a hybrid product of a mousse plus a sea salt spray. So you've got the texture of a sea salt spray, with the volume of a mousse mousses tend to create a really great foundation of the hair and lift it from the root so you're going to get really great volume. So if you want a quick with loads of height but loads of texture, this could be great, for you also again, slightly guys are slightly longer here, um or women, hello, you're, most welcome. Then this could be a really great product. This is the most expensive of the lot here: 24 pounds, but bumble and bumble really do produce fantastic products and they really do look after your hair. I want to spray a bit of this to show you um. This comes out a bit like crackly. You can see there and it's got that sort of pivot on the microphone that sort of sound to it, and i like this and i think it's i always do this, and then i can't get this off. I like this for adding in all that volume - and i tend not to use this so much these days because i'll either want i'm the big volume or i want the texture. I tend not to put them all together, and this also, i want to say, yeah. It'S got uv a and uvb filters, so it's going to protect the hair against drawing especially into the sun, um, really really great again linked all online from self.com. It'S got more details, it's got ingredients so there's particular things. You'Re, looking for you're gon na get that on there. The final one again is this sort of like hybrid product that i feel like brands, are doing so well in especially our friends at sashawan, um sashawan of stockholm. When i have been introduced to sasha one i've. Just been so amazed and the ocean mist shampoo and conditioner, it's fantastic. If you want beachy volume, you want kind of what you'd get from a sea salt spray. That shampoo is fantastic. This hair cream does much the same, so here creams, we will be getting into them in terms of the styling products part of this series, but this can be used as a styling product or as a pre-styling product. I tend to use it into the pre-styling, but you can see there. You just scoop out a little bit. You can put it into dry or damp hair work through root to tip, and then i would always say with something like this use: a hairdryer when you're in the pre-selling phase, it's going to help to activate the product, it's going to help to start to build In the volume, the texture, the definition, the way you want it to sit um. So i really really like that. What you're going to get with this that you're not going to get with the other ones, is you're gon na be able to provide um a bit more sort of directional movement to the hair um, especially in the pre-styling. But you are gon na. Have this texture of the hair? So it's just slight movement: it's not as much of the movement as the spray, but you can also use this as a styling product. So if you really wanted that texture, you could use the sea salt spray, you can mix it in with something and then, when that's done a little bit of this into your hands and work for you to start to style it. So you really do have options, but the fantastic thing about the sea. Salt spray is that it is versatile, so you've got all those different things you can do with it again. I would say if ever anything is drying, your hair stop. You do not want dry. Crispy hair instead swap out for another product again, these are great, slightly cheaper, slightly more drying. The more sort of expensive tend to be tend to be better in the way of conditioning um, but there you go. I really hope this has been of some help to you. I know we are getting into um we're getting into this sort of seesaw season. I always think of sea salt season as being summer, so i think, sort of late. May i think, june july august september you were just clutching onto that surfboard, just hoping surfboard as if i actually said i'm hoping that it's going to stick around but i'll link down below. Also, if you're still new to this and you're still not press subscribe, then hey come on. Please do press subscribe right now the butt got such sticky hands. The button is just up there. So some more video suggestions down there and the hair products guide series is in the cards up there and a link to man from self.com. I will send you to see sort sprays right there, but until my next new video bye

Robin James: What hair type do you have?

Brian Wilson: I like the look the sea salt sprays give but by the time I've used enough to get the effect I want the smell of the product is just overwhelming. I got really good results from making my own like you suggested in another video. I used a mix of sea salt and epsom salt and a fragrance free conditioner I added to it.

Mastacator: Loving this information, I have had the hardest time figuring out how to style my hair and what products I need to do the job. I feel like this is extra hard for men to be informed. I noticed you don’t have a lot of information on shampoos and conditioners though, will there be a segment coming on this? Thanks for all you do! You don’t even know how helpful you’ve been!

01 sevensix: Great videos Robin. Short, concise and highly opinionated. Perfect. Thank you.

michael skidmore: That was me who asked the question: “can you mix two pre stylers together”? It’s always a pleasure Robin.

Fabrizio Oyanader Gallardo: Hi Robin! Great video as usual. Do you recommend using sea salt spray and hair mousse at the same time?

Jhasua Velázquez: Hey Robin! I know this is not a recent video but how do you apply Bumble and Bumble Surf Foam? I have recently adquired it but it is somewhat difficult to apply. I feel that I should not apply the same product as with other sea salt sprays but I'm not sure. How much product do you apply? And you can apply it and let it dry natural as with other sea salt sprays? hahahah this product feels so much different to other sea salt sprays that idk what to do with it. PD. My hair is thick and straight

Jamie Baraiya: Hey Robin, great vid as usual! a cool/fun video idea would be showing us several ways to style your current hair.

luuk koffeman: Haven't watched the video, but I hope Herbivore sea salt spray is in here! Its by far the best and the healthiest sea salt spray! It has no parabens, silicons, parfum and only natural ingredients!!

Ash Town: love how genuine you are about this

Mario Vences: Never a mention for thick hair. Also it would be helpful if u mentioned what products are best for type of hair too like curly, waivy, strait hair

Juraj Kučík: There's one that is my all time fav, made by the British based barber shop Johnny's Chop Shop. Works better than Sachajuan for me, worth trying indeed :)

Dylan O Brien: What would happen if you used every part of the ocean mist system? So shampoo, conditioner, spray and cream. Would your hair just turn into a beach?

Gretchen Gustafson: Woman with long, wavy hair here - can confirm that Bumble & Bumble foam is amazing!

Andrew Turner: Just discovered this video, great info. I’m growing my hair out and want to create that surfer kinda look. My hair is quite thick though, will these products work with thicker hair? I’ve read they work better on thinner hair? (I don’t know if that’s rubbish or not!). Heeelllpppp!

IScopesx: Great video Robin! Loving this series

JKey: What do you recommend for super flat and soft hair?

STEVE WESKER: No matter which I use they make my hair look greasy, I can literally blow dry my hair for 10 minutes no joke and doesn’t dry.

fivebucklunch: Have you tried the Not Your Mother's brand of sea salt spray? And if so what were your thoughts on it?

Dreamweaver.: Very informative video, learnt a lot from this !

airline45: Any difference between a sea-salt spray vs a lotion? Kevin Murphy has a sea-salt product that comes in both those versions

RyanTinTin: Top 5 shampoo and conditioners. Really want to hear your current thoughts on Nioxin as well!

Marco Rechichi: Hi Robin is actually healthy for the hair applying sachajuan sea salt spray daily ? Doesn’t it damage the hair if used too often ?

M D: Great videos and tips. Thanks! I hope you creat videos on products for long hairs (men).

bradley g: Can you wash out these products with just water or would you need to use shampoo as well?

jwebb: Fudge sea salt is brilliant for the price. Maybe the best hair product you can get at a regular Tesco, Sainsbury's etc

Matthew Hunt: Murdock is my fav sea salt spray/foam moose! Has great hold and texture!

Abdul Wadud: tbh, I was disappointed when I got the sachajuan ocean mist cream, I had thought the cream would give some hold to the hair, but all it did was give loads of volume and it doesn't give that beachy look to your hair

Charissa Wong: Do you use sea salt spray with hair thickening products together?

Josh P: Can I use sea salt spray with a powder and clay or is that too many products?

Jan Moravec: Dude .. You're great. :-D Perfectly presented information, funny, DIY alternatives and sexy AF. 10/10

Aroma From Heaven: Great vid..You were one of my first inspirations to start my own channel.for real thanks so much.God bless.

Robert Louise Baker-Hyde: Can I use sea salt spray and use a styling clay afterwards like Hanz de Fuko claymation?

Connor: I really like Beardbrands Sea Salt spray! Plus they smell amazing

Rodrigo F Mendoza: What is a sea salt spray for curly hair that will leave it moisturized and not dry and brittle and will enhance the curls ???

Michael G: Ever try out Moroccanoil sea salt spray or their beach wave mousse (sounds similar to the b&b one you mentioned here) I’ve been using Toni and guy after hearing you mention it in a previous video. Starting to get low and was looking to adventure out a bit. The two Moroccan caught my eyes.

shrikumar havaragi: Robin as usual u r

Hussam Musab: Thank you, Excited for this kind of videos

Chris Kimber: I used evo salty dog spray from your previous recommendation. Is that not making the top 5 anymore?

Cole B: any tips on dry scalp because of the salt?

Ace Player: Thank you for this!

Goku Black: thoughts on sugar sprays?

Umida: A thickening spray? Interesting to know...

Usman Khan: why don’t u recommend the evo salt spray from your previous video from a year ago anymore

Shreyans Mehta: Hey what do you exactly mean by a primer spray never heard about it in the hairstyling products world

spagwag: What shampoos do you use regularly?

James Long: Have you tried Pete and Pedros salt spray ? Just curious if you liked it

CMN: Been waiting for this one

ســـفـــيرة الصمت: Will these product suites females hair? !

Nicu Gabriel: What's coming next? =)) Great content!

Roy Chan: What is texture?

O U T C A S T: Hey been a while u didnt talk about a good hairspray :))

Jacob Eames: Robin please do a brand battle for nightrider vs roughrider!

Teekay: love the shirt!

Lucien De Rubempré: Why you stopped reviewing home brewers

Kieran Coutts: It sucks none of this is sold in Canada exept Toni and guy

Alex: I don’t see any benefits from sea salt spray, it dries out your hair , also dehydration, which you don’t want.. All of these things causes hair loss in future, In Long term is not recommended. I used once and i returned it immediately

Mr J: I wanted to be first dammit. Great video Rob !!

Umida: Privet Robin
