So sometimes, at the end, we're gon na be so embarrassed, like i scratched my hair and like you'd, see like legs yeah girl. At that point i could have owned a cornflakes factory, because i was flaky guys welcome. What'S good welcome back to my channel if you're watching for the very first time my name is stacia and i go by namaste on instagram. So if you're interested in keeping up with my day-to-day life, hit me up over there on the gram and show me some love riley over there, and today we have destiny, hi uh. We i have this video on my channel, as you guys know already. She is a youtuber i'll leave her information in the description bar below so go ahead and subscribe to her channel for more japan, related content um. So, as you can see by the title of this video we're going to be talking about black hair in japan, so i have destiny on my channel for this particular video, because she does a lot of hair content when it comes down to japanese products. So again, if you're interested in all of that, she does a lot of very good videos. Might i add, on japanese products, so if you're a black girl in japan, trying to finish these japanese products, you need a girl, my girl, over here. She got the hookup trying to hear me. I can't say i didn't put you on period, so we're going to be talking about um or here journey after coming to japan, how you can source hair products here and some of the japanese products that you can use. If it is that you're having problems or difficulties with sourcing the products that you're used to from your usual website, so first let me ask you um, i know a lot of women black women, especially we complain about um or here changing after being here. I know that has been something i've experienced. How about you? Yes, yes, yes, definitely all the products that i used to use on my hair no longer worked. When i moved here, i was using a ton of black foam brands and then, when i moved here, my hair was like. Oh no, what's this yeah, we don't know that we never use that. We don't like that yeah, it's the same for me like when i came here. I had really short hair. I put my hair up like prayers coming to japan, but i found that that didn't help my case because i don't know if the water or the products or something but my hair, my scalp was like really flaky, really yeah and really itchy. So sometimes, at the end, we're going to be so embarrassed, like i scratched my hair and like you'd, see like legs yeah girl. At that point i could have owned a cornflakes factory because i was flaky and it's not even in any cute way shape or form. So yeah a lot of women do and if you're, a black woman in japan, you can leave your comments in the comment section below a lot of black women. Here they tend to have problems when it comes down to their hair. After moving to i don't know what is it about japan, but your hair usually change so if you're coming to japan be mentally prepared for that for real yeah um. So the second thing i wanted to talk about is you know, finding products or finding products for your hair uh? How easy easy is it for you to find products for your hair um? It'S pretty easy. I am the kind of person i'm like. Oh i like that packaging. I want that, and so i just buy it. So i don't some things have not worked for me, but most things have yeah. So when it comes down to things that you're used to, is it easy to get them in japan um? I think it's easy to get them, however, they don't work, so i'm not gon na buy them and they they don't work for me. Okay, so i know well for her. It'S it's a little different because she's on a u.s base. Yes, so she is somewhat um. Privy to accessibility, when it comes on to like getting certain products, not all maybe no no um, but still she still has an easier time finding products but hold on wait. I want to mention that, just because i live on a military base does not mean they cater to this okay, because there is a lot the whole most of the owl is like for the you know for the for the the people who don't look like us, But there are just a few, i would say, maybe like five brands that cater to black women. However they're not brands that i typically use okay yeah. So we do have options, but it's not that many. So if i order stuff from online it'll get here in a timely manner, however, they don't usually work. So it's better for me, in my personal opinion, to just look for japanese products that i actually like, because i have found a few okay and we're gon na get to those in a few yeah um. But for me personally, i don't have the access that she has. So if you're, a black woman in japan, iherb is a nice place to go to get some of your items. Amazon does ship some of the items here, but the thing with amazon is: they have a lot of like customs and the shipping is usually higher. So if a products cost some product, if a product, for example, cost like fifteen us dollars, you're paying like thirty dollars for it, yeah, because the shipping plus the custom fees and all of that it's extremely high. So i herb is better than amazon. But there are certain things: you're not gon na find on iherb, so you're gon na have to resort to amazon, or you could just get someone to send you care packages, frequently uh so yeah. So with that being said, if you're one of the persons or one of the people who do not have access to a credit card because you're new to japan - and you want to find simple products that you can use in your everyday hair, routine, um we're going To give you some japanese products that you can use uh, but before we go into all of that, how do you find, like extension here, um, i actually don't. My mom sends me care packages for braiding, hair and perm rods and flexi rods and all those little like edge, brushes and stuff, like my mom, says those things to me, because i can't buy them here. Yeah you're, not you're, if you're looking for like edge contour. Well, not maybe you can find it. It'S gon na, like edge brushes that you're used to you, don't know unless you're gon na buy a toothbrush and use that as your edge brush. I have done that. I do that yeah. I still think that toothbrush is kind of better than the regular ones too. I don't know, i don't know it's a low end, but yeah uh, if you're looking for like hair extension like the one, i'm wearing right now, cute you're not going to find it in japanese you're. Not so what i personally do is i either shop because i got these off of amazon and i had it shipped here uh. If i know that some people i do to get, i get uh hair extensions off of aliexpress. If you raise aliexpress, no okay, so i usually buy aliexpress, which is so much cheaper. You'Re welcome and it's so much cheaper than amazon too, but i wanted this faster. Uh aliexpress usually takes a longer time like two weeks to get here. We got time for that sometimes, but if you're planning in advance to do your hair, you can check out aliexpress or amazon and i can't think of any other websites right now that ships hair extensions all right. So i wanted to talk about some of the japanese products that you can try if you're in japan and you're interested in finding you know shampoos edge control conditioner, we got the hookup for you. This is the video. You know call me station the plug, hey luz. We giving you all the good stuff in this video alright, so this section i'm gon na leave it to destiny, because she is the connoisseur, i would say when it comes down to japanese products for black women, so destiny. Take it away. I feel like it just put me on the spot and i'm gon na stay here. So these are my favorite products. The brand is called himawari and i absolutely love this stuff. So when i first moved here, my hair was really dry. It was like very brittle and all the things that i use to moisturize my hair like deep condition, my hair. They were not working and when i say not working, it was like. I would rinse it out and my hair would still be dry and i'll be like what what's happening here. So i was like you know what i'm gon na go out and buy products, and i did that. I bought a slew of stuff. I was just buying stuff and i just started trying stuff and i fell in love with this brand. So this is my favorite brand. It'S literally almost empty, but i love this stuff. I think it's about 900 yen each and they also have a deep conditioner. I like the deep conditioner as well. It'S really really good, so this is the deep conditioner. I absolutely love this stuff like this is the best deep conditioner for my hair, because it really really adds like that moisture and it's a little oily. It does say oil in treatment, so it's not like greasy, but you can tell there's kind of like something on your hair to really like deeply penetrate it, and i like that, okay, so this is the second one. I absolutely love this stuff too. This one is a lot cheaper, i think it's like 500 yen each and then the refills are like 200 in each. So it's super duper cheap. I found this brand on instagram actually and it's called merit m-e-r-i-t. I think - and i love this stuff - it's really cheap. It reminds me of like: have you ever tried? V05 yeah? It reminds me of v05, but better, like i say it reminds me of vo5, because v05 is super cheap and super accessible, and this is too. I found this at don quixote. I can find this at the local grocery store like this is super super good and i actually do like a lot of wash and go's with this alone, because i can literally break it through my hair really fast and just get out the shower. So this is really like: it's given yeah, it's giving it. So this is what the refill looks like for the conditioner. It comes in a bag, and i really like that, like all of their refills, come in a bag, so you don't have to buy a whole. Another bottle to refill your stuff, so that is really innovative. I really like that yeah, and this is just two dollars like if you don't even want to buy the bottle. This is just two dollars yeah you can just buy that um screw off and then yes, i love this stuff. If you don't care for like a pump or a bottle like, i would just buy this just by the refill yeah. So the very last brand is in honey. I love this stuff too. I wouldn't say it's like a 10. I would give it maybe like a seven or eight - it's not great, but it's still good. So i do um use the sham the conditioner way more than i use the shampoo, but that's with every product i feel like i just dumped the conditioner on my head, and so i really do love this. They also have a treatment as well, and i like this too - i mean it's not fabulous. It'S like a deep conditioner. Oh it's a moist repair, hair pack, yeah. I use it every now and then it's not very often that i use it, but i do like it plus i mean it's almost empty yeah, one of the cool things. Well, i was about to say one of the cool things is that it has english on there yeah but yeah, but at the front it has english at the back. It has japanese um. At the back of this, i like that it has like step one step. Two step three, so you can kind of get a picture, a pictorial of how the order in which you use like each product. So that's pretty cool if you're interested um. This is step 1.5. So i guess i use this in between yes, shampoo and conditioner. Yes, that's cool all right, so for all my black queens out there, you want to lay your edges to the gods. Um. We have a japanese product that might work for you, yes go ahead. This is called spice sisters. I have used this for slick back ponytails. Half of half damn styles: i've used this. To lay my edges. It is gone, but it's green in color, but when you put it on your hair, it it dries clear yeah and it's like um. It'S like a wax, but not really a wax, and it smells good too. It smells good yeah. It'S like a wax yeah, but like an edge control tool. I think um. This is actually for men. Men use this to spike their hair, oh yeah, but girl for your edges. We'Re gon na finish. It edges, yeah, the edges. I mean it's period and everything. That'S on mary had a little lamb, that's on the biting box and that's on your food stamp card. Okay period, okay, so the very last thing is gel. I have not found a gel that i, like hair. All of them are very drying um. They feel very cool like when you put it on your hair. It'S like this cooling sensation. I don't like that um. It smells like alcohol to me like rubbing alcohol, it's very sticky. It'S it's giving high sanitizer yeah yeah. I don't like it. I don't like it at all, but i have used it a few times, but it's just nothing that i would really rave about. Would i buy gel hair? No, no okay, but if you want to give it a try, you can but but don't say we didn't, warn you don't even waste your seven dollars. Don'T do it. I won't say it gives you a long hold though. Okay, it does. But it's very stinky, like i want my hair to smell good. I don't want to even wear perfume some days. I want you to walk past me like while she smells good. That'S my hair. I put a purple one, that's my hair. You know like i. I, like that kind of vibe yeah i like when i'm laying down or something or me and my boo and the bed we chilling or something and then he's like smell good. Oh that's my hair, so those are all of my favorite products um. I have tried a few more but they're nothing to rave about um. They didn't even make it a top five, so yeah. But if you want to see them, you can check out her channel we'll leave it in the description box below. We already told you this. Yes, okay, all right! So this concludes the end of my video. I hope that you guys found this informative um. I'Ve scored youtube and i've only found videos of black women having their hair being done in japan. My hair is like a zigzag. Like yeah yeah, yeah, curly, hair yeah, but, like you said, i've never seen like anyone. Look like you. No with your texture, like you doing this kind of video, no!
