My All Natural Sustainable Hair Care Routine ✨ ( Zero Waste )

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another video! Im so excited to share with you guys my all natural sustainable hair care routine!! Not only does this routine save plastic bottles it saved me $1500 every year!!!! (( IF YOUR INTERESTED IN THE SAVINGS BREAKDOWN COMMENT BELOW THIS VIDEO AND ILL MAKE A FOLLOW UP EXPLAINING HOW MUCH MONEY YOU CAN SAVE! )) Im very passionate about this subject. As a retired hairdresser I took pride in using the latest and greatest products. So much so on average I was using anywhere from 5-9 products each time I did my hair! WHAT?!?! Either way long story short I went on this journey to natural hair care shortly after I became allergic to hair color . My hair was in the worst shape of its life, and I was on a mission to ditch anything that wasn't natural to help fix it. 2 1/2 years later here we are. Im obsessed and wish I would have done this routine sooner!! Be prepared if you give this a try to expect a transitional period for you hair to adjust. Your hair has been stripped of its natural oils its entire life. It needs to learn to balance itself back out. Don't worry it only takes a month or two and its the perfect excuse to just rock a pony tail for while. Either way I hope you guys enjoy! Make sure to leave any questions in the comments below!!

Hey guys welcome back today i'll be sharing my natural zero waste hair care routine. I was a hairdresser for years and what i'm about to share with you, i wouldn't have recommended over commercial products, but after digging into natural beauty, i haven't looked back ever since and as a result, my hair has become thicker, healthier and also shinier than it's been. My entire life - i could ramble all day on this subject, as i am very passionate about it, but let's go ahead and jump in and show you what my hair routine looks like. First things: first washing my hair. I ditched traditional shampoos over two years ago and switched to a shampoo bar. My favorite one that i have found is the jr lit it's moisturizing bar just like every shampoo is different. It'S the same with shampoo bars. So if you find one that you don't like just keep trying, if you don't know, traditional shampoo often removes your natural protective oils. A shampoo bar uses the oil cleansing method. What that does is it removes excess oil and dirt, leaving your natural oils behind to protect and condition your hair. So here's how to use one, i simply start by getting the bar and my hands wet. You can see it lathers up pretty fast. I like to rub the bar onto my hair, making sure all the surface area is covered. Then i scrub away honestly the first time i use this shampoo bar. I was shocked on how fast it lathered up once i'm done scrubbing i rinse just like i've washed. My hair, my entire life, now it's time to move on to conditioner. I personally love this salt conditioner from high bar. I use their moisturize one when i use this, i like to start by wringing out my hair slightly and then i apply it from the ears down once i start to feel some slip. I like to rub some on my hands working it through the ends. Then i let it sit for five minutes. While i do some other shower things, then of course rinse it out. I'Ve been using this conditioner bar since january, and, let me just say it lasts forever. My first bar lasted six months. The final step to my shower is my apple cider, vinegar rinse. Today, i'm using a rosemary and thyme infused apple, cider, vinegar, i'll link, a video on how to make it below all i do is pour about one inch to the bottom of a large cup and then fill the rest with water. I like to dunk the ends of my hair into the vinegar before pouring the rest over my head. Then i just rinse it out as well. Apple cider, vinegar, hair rinses have a lot of benefits, but my two favorites are added shine and balancing out the ph of the hair. I wash my hair two to three times a week, letting it air dry always before. Bed i like to put my hair up into a protective hairstyle like a braid or a low bun. I make sure to work a few drops of argan oil into my ends. To give it a little extra love wearing a protective hairstyle will actually help your hair break less since you're, causing less friction throughout the night. Every two to three months, i give myself a haircut or what i like to call a dusting. This is the technique used to get the internal damage of the hair. This is where a lot of split ends live and, if you're wanting to conserve length, this is a must do to keep your hair healthy, simply take small sections of hair and weave them between your fingers. Little hairs will pop up and then you can check if they're split or if they're not cut anything dead off and keep repeating. I also trim my ends if need be. At the same time, cutting your own hair is a lot easier than it sounds start small, but also remember. I have professional experience. Last but not least, i did want to mention. I haven't colored my hair in four years, but i do still use heat on it. This one i haven't fully gotten away from mostly because my hair is that odd middle ground, where it isn't straight and it isn't curly, so something has to be done to it. I only use heat two to three times a week on the lowest setting my curling iron goes. I also don't use any type of traditional styling products, either mostly because they're full of chemicals, alcohol and also fragrance causing your hair to become drier and drier. Again, i could go on and on about traditional hair care, but today it was just all about my natural hair care routine, and i believe that pretty much sums it up, if you guys have any questions, make sure to leave them in the comments below. I know how confusing and weird a switch like this can be, so ask away i'll make sure to link everything i use in the description box below as well. Thanks for watching guys i'll see you all next time bye, you

Bre Ellis: Would you give a zero waste hair routine a try?!

Avonmora: I have fairly long curly hair that I haven't taken very good care of the last couple years. (But I did quit dying it) Finally decided I was tired of the friz on top and the uneven curl at the bottom so I bought some expensive shampoo, conditioner and styling creme from a company online. It's awful. My hair looks worse than it did when I was using $3 shampoo. Definitely want to give your method a try. Any suggestions for a zero waste styling product? I already have argon oil but I'm trying to find something that will help define the curl. Really enjoying your videos.

Zuzanna: Honey! This "shampoo" bar istn't really a shampoo. It's a soap. Saponified oil is a soap. That's why you want to use vinegar rinse to close hair cuticles, opened by high ph of soap. If it works for you, great, but keep that in mind!

Sofia: Do you use any kind of heat protection or leave in conditioner?

Alycia 123: What heat protectant do you use

white peach subliminals: Where can I find an eco friendly heat protector?

Esther Chaya A: Thank you for tell what shampoo you use!!

TurtleLungfishGirl: How do you feel about LUSH as a brand or their products?

Kurochka Kotikovna: My hair look so bad after vinegar its awful, but i think it cause my ends was bleach a year ago and i use henna 4 dying. Anyway thank u from video! Ur russian viewer
