Hi, I'm Amelia and I'm here to talk about washing out semi-permanent hair color. I actually had a lady coming to the salon the other day and she had given herself a base color of red and she had done it with a semi-permanent hair color. It wasn't red enough, so she wanted to do something else. Well, I tried talking her into coming into the salon, but it was something she wanted to take care of. First before she came into the salon, she wanted to basically wash out her hair color. So what I told her to do was to go, get a clarifying, shampoo and use it pretty much every day and what that's gon na do is that's gon na strip, your color out. It'S actually going to help swell that hair shaft a little bit get in there, and the detergents in the shampoo will help eat away some of that semi permanent hair color. So my permanent hair color doesn't get into the hair shaft like permanent. Does it actually more stains the outer cuticle there's a slight lifting of the cuticle so that the color can get in, but it's not going to get in and get into the cortex like a permanent does so a clarifying shampoo will work. Also baking soda in your shampoo, just any sodium bicarbonate. If you don't have anything like that, you can use baking powder because it does have so buddy a sodium bicarbonate in it. You just add that into your shampoo emulsify, shampoo, your hair with it, and that will also strip your hair same with cider vinegar. Any kind of anything like that. That'S going to clarify that hair will strip out their hair color and that's how you shampoo out semi-permanent hair

Rebecca Munnelly: Such a good help! Love it :)

ChuckHitler: This lady really knows what she's talking about. Very informative.

414caramel: when you have bleached your hair and add another colour to it (so that it is more vivid), can you get the colour out without having the bleach slightly faded ( so that you can die it another colour with the bleach to help make it more vivid, without re-bleaching). :)

sylvia mendivel: i hope this works i beeen trying so many things in my hair to get this medium brown out i want my blonde natural hair back! :(

Kristy Corkery: does baking soda actually work and will it ruin my hair? and can you get baking soda from anywhere xx ive tried washing up liquid and it made most of my hair fall out

Shawnde: What's the ratio for shampoo and baking soda? How can I tell that I've put too much baking soda in the shampoo?

jasmine martinez: how long will it take to get blue hair out using baking soda?

RikkiKitti: So... you're saying that you Bleached you're hair(highlights) and now you're trying to wash out the bleached highlights? Bleaching you're hair means you've ripped out the color of you're hair... you want wash out something that isn't there.. your hair is stuck that way unless you redye it or let it grow out.

TheWBAH: I love your hair color. Wondering if you could tell me what hair color( shade) that is....I really appreciate that

Circuitrycat: @Studluver63 thanks for letting me know, i havent gone to the pool yet this summer. but another question when the clorox removed the color was the dye color visibly in the pool? like u see the dye in the water?

Anna Naydenova: Is semi permanent hair dye bad for your hair

Kathy Nguyen: thank you so much :)

2011alliecat: @anaaa1108 What did you end up doing? I need to get this dark semi-permanent color out of my hair too. I am going to try that baking soda trick.

SketchPad20: Did it work?

Circuitrycat: @Studluver63 thanks for this info, im super grateful

Pamela Matthews: so could i use vinega to put in mky hair?!

Chelsea Shoemaker: @16silverwing Lol no it wasnt but when I got home to wash it I saw red dye coming out... So I guess its only visible when you put shampoo nd condtioner on it

Chelsea Shoemaker: @16silverwing Yes... Bcuz I dyed my hair Rihanna Red nd I went to the pool nd the clorox stripped the color. (Im bad at spellin too)

rachelroseanne: @xBlAcKrAiN95x Are you dumb?? If it's permanent you need to use a deoxodizing hair color stripper or something like ColorZap. Bleaching your black hair is torture. If its manic panic black, then a stripper will still remove it since it sucks. Other semi-permanents will wash out with her techniques.
