Elite Hair Care USA

PO Box 14

Apopka FL 32704

Hi, beautiful people crystal here from elite, haircare, usa, elite total body care and also private label, hair care company. So today my client came in and she has decided that she no longer wants to hold on to her relaxed ends and her transition period is officially over. So we are going to do a big chop, as you guys can tell her. Hair is straight at this very moment, and there is no way for me to tell what part of her hair is fully natural versus the part that still has relaxer left over. So what i started out by doing is giving her a full shampoo service, so you always want to make sure, as i always say in every video, you want to saturate your hair and rinse out any excess product that you have in your hair to prepare yourself For the shampoo process, now for my first shampoo, i am using our new elite clarify this is an clarifying shampoo that is infused with activated charcoal and peppermint essential oils. It does not dry the hair out like your typical clarifying shampoo, but it cleanses the hair and the scalp detoxes and declogs the scalp and gets the hair prepared for your treatment shampoo. So i always start off with a clarifying shampoo, preferably elite, clarify now for rinsing. I am rinsing her with warm water during the shampoo process. I do not use cold water. I use warm water only now for her treatment. Shampoo, i am using the hair repair and growth shampoo. Her hair did have a little bit of oiliness to it, which, if i had really known how much oil was in her hair, because her hair was dry and i didn't feel the film. I would have dry shampooed her first, but i didn't have that option. It wasn't until i was already into the shampoo process that i noticed that she did have a lot of oil in her hair, so i am shampooing her with the hair repair and growth. Shampoo. A good defense mechanism, of course, was to clarify her first, but guys. Let me tell you: oil and water doesn't mix the moment. The water touches her hair and you lock that oil on there is no taking it off. You will be shampooing for days and weeks, so i honestly would not go past three shampoos and then, with the next shampoo, when her hair is dry and we go to shampoo again, i will dry shampoo her to extract a lot of that oil from the hair. The reason why you guys hear me talking about oil in the hair is because i have to silk press her and the more oil she has in her hair. At the beginning, the heavier her hair is going to be at the end. So now i'm gon na create a cocktail using our elite. Moist me deep conditioning mask and our hair repair conditioner, which i had to search to all of my conditioners and shampoos to find so, if you're going to do a cocktail, you always want to pre-mix the the product in your hand first and then, where people go Wrong with conditioners, they want to run to the scalp area. When really the hair is what needs the conditioner and then you will work your way up to the scalp, but you don't need the conditioner on the scalp level, you guys you need it on the hair itself, it is conditioning the follicle. So what i'm doing is detangling her slightly, if you guys can tell her ends, are tangling way more than her roots or mid shaft. Why? Because that relaxed hair is there, it is, it is lifeless it's tangled and it needs to go, but i wanted to just give her some more strength, so we did a um excuse me. We did a deep conditioning treatment under the hooded dryer with a processing cap, and then she was under there for 15 minutes and now i'm rinsing her with cool water, as you can tell her eyes, are like squint clothes because the water is cold. You always want to make sure you rinse your conditioners with cool water by the way that helps with the tangling that helps to keep that shine in the hair and lock in that conditioner. Okay. So now we are going to um put her under the dryer. Let her air dry a little bit and then we'll blow her out, which you guys never see the drier part. But now i want you guys to see some spraying on some leave-in conditioner and now i'm actually going through the hair and parting the hair. And you can see a huge difference now than when we first started. So when i do my big chops, i do it in sections. People just like to go chopping themselves away, and i feel like this is a science. If you're going to do this, you need to do it the right way. So i like to do a scissors over comb and i don't do blunt lines when i'm doing big chops, because it's just going to create this heaviness on the hair. So i like to do what we call notching and i go section by section and i just cut into the natural hair about a centimeter if not give or take a centimeter or two, and then that allows me to remove majority of that relaxed hair. It also allows me to remove a lot of those little fray ends that are always left behind now. This does not complete the entire process when you're doing a big chop, unless you decide you're just going to go and you don't even care where you're chopping you're. Just chopping i care, because i want to preserve as much hair as possible. That is another reason why you see me doing it this way, and i also am going to give her an actual trim at the end and any little fray hairs that are left behind. That will be taken care of when i trim her after she's dry and straight, but for the big chop part i like to do mine this way. Some people, like oh you're, doing too much work well, good thing, i'm the stylist and you're. Not so, i feel like this method works a lot better because it takes out that blunt line, but it still gives a uniform cut and i'm able to see what is straight versus curly. What is healthy versus unhealthy? It gives me a chance to really do a good observation and examination. I said good observation, a good examination of my clients here, okay and then at the same time, i still have a guide and i can see my guide as i'm cutting, rather than just chopping. It away at all her hair now some people would have held on to those little strands of relaxed hair and wondered why their hair always looked the way it looked because you're holding on to dead weight. That hair is not going to revive itself. It'S not going to get curly like the rest of your hair. That hair is done once you stop relaxing and you want to go natural. You have to big chop at some point and, as you guys can tell, she has a lot more virgin hair than she did strands of relaxed here. So that should tell you what was going on that hair itself was breaking every chance that it got so look at the ends and then look at the version here. If you had to make a decision, i want you to comment down below if you had to make a decision, and it was time for you to determine, if you wanted to big chop, would you still hold on to those relaxed strands if you would put yes, If you wouldn't put no - and if you put yes or no tell me why - and you can do that in the comment section i know there are going to be some ignorant ones that oh, my gosh, you cut off her hair. Yes, i did, you have to cut off the dead weight if you notice that hair was just holding back all this beautiful virgin hair that she had going on here, and sometimes you have to let the dead weight go and typically the people who talk about you Cut so much, you got a whole bunch of dead weight in your life, so we're just gon na leave that there okay. So now we'll go back to the cut. You know i always have to throw something in there. You guys, but look at her hair guys. It'S just bouncing back to life like that relaxed hair. That was already just it's just there. It'S just blah. It was doing her no justice, and this is why i tell people if you are going to transition. Typically, you don't want to transition past six to eight months. I wouldn't go past the year of transitioning, because when you allow that relaxed hair to start becoming a problem, it then starts to affect that virgin hair that's coming in and once it splits it's going to split all the way up the shaft and take that nice Virgin hair with it, so i don't recommend trying to transition for too long. Transitioning should be done like almost a year or less. Let me just say it like that: a year or less some people can barely make it to six months, because their hair starts to look like this and that relaxed here has no life to it. There'S nothing you can do that is going to give life to that hair. That hasn't been touched. It'S just shedding itself away. It'S breaking it's tangling! It'S popping and look at her look at her from look at her from it's just beautiful, beautiful, okay, but the job is not done you guys, so she went under the dryer and i know you guys are like crystal. Why does she look like this? Well, i found a way to dry on my clients, natural hair, when it won't. Let me when it won't. I, when i'm not able to rope twist it. Oh my gosh, i got so tongue tied. So typically, you guys will see me rope twist. My client and put them under the dryer to help elongate their hair under the dryer through that slow process, rather than using the blow dryer to elongate the hair. Well, i wasn't able to do so because her hair it kept coming out because of slight bluntness on the ends. So what i did was, i used some clips and i just twisted the hair into sections and it allowed me to elongate the hair, so it would dry a lot faster on a more natural setting of dry rather than the blow dryer okay. So we already went through and did the silk press. I didn't film, the soap press, you guys you guys have seen me - do so press like 17 million times right so now, i'm going through and i'm officially giving her a trim. A big chop is just a chop: there is no uniformity to the hair. This is why i said after i finish the chop, i'm going to trim her, and this is what is going to really give her that evenness. This is also going to be a part of her regular maintenance. What we talk about all the time in all of my videos and as you can see her ends, did need to be trimmed, so this is definitely a part of the process of getting your hair. In its the optimal state, okay, so don't skip out on your trims. You guys, even though she got a big chop. That did not stop me from trimming her. It'S not gon na make her any shorter than she already is, because these ends are some straight and some just all over the place. So i still needed to actually even her out so now. Her hair is going to grow out nice and healthy, nice and virgin. Okay, she got a great deep conditioning treatment today and then she's, basically on her way to success as long as she keeps up with her trim schedule now for her home care. This is just a silk press, you guys, so this is very temporary. It'S just a temporary style and if you notice, when i wet down her hair, her hair expanded like a sponge. So as soon as she goes to wash her hair, it will go back to her natural state. She'Ll go back to her natural fro and she'll. Be ready to go okay, so that's just that now. I want you guys to take a look at the shine in her hair, but i also want you to take a look at how kind of heavy her hair appears as well. Remember at the beginning of the video, when i was doing her shampoo, i told you guys i felt like there was a lot of oil in the hair, but i didn't catch it until i had already started the shampoo process. Well, this is what actually happens when you have a ton of oil in your hair and you do your shampoo and don't extract a lot of that pre-existing oil or product from the hair. So in her case i did not add any more product to her hair. The worst thing that i can do is go and add more product. I just use what she had to my advantage and then just curled her in slightly larger sections, rather than me, adding more oils and serums, and it's just going to make the hair even more heavy. And it's going to separate the actual curl. So, instead of doing that, i just use what she had. So what i'm doing is just going through and bumping her kind of like a roller set, she likes body in her hair. She likes her hair to jump around and and bounce and move. So this is actually perfect for her and then i feel like the girl out process for her is going to be absolutely bomb this time next year. I feel like her hair will be double this length, if not longer, so she did the right thing by just saying: i'm done, i'm done just take it off because it wasn't doing her any justice. I wanted to bring the camera closer, so you guys could see what i was doing by the way, okay, so um. In the meantime, while i'm doing this curl, please don't forget to subscribe to my channel. Please don't forget to thumbs up this video and also comment and tell me how long it took you to do your big chop, because i know some of you watching this video have not actually done a big chop or it took you like two to three years And that was once the hair started to shed and break right, but i want to see how long you guys really were waiting to do what needed to be done. If you officially want it to be natural, how long did it take you and what made you say you want to go natural, so comment all of this down below open some dialogue for us to chat, and then we can go from there now. What'S going to be her care going forward, she definitely wants to make sure that she moisturizes, but i can tell that she easily gets product build up on her hair, so i would say for her i wouldn't even recommend moisture elt, i would more say, recommend the Hair repair and growth and for her deep condition. I wouldn't go past five to ten minutes, because her hair is just gon na soak it up. So she has like a combination of hair. It'S kind of like low high porosity all together and her hair will hold almost any form of product so too much product for her hair is not really good, and i could tell that by just working with her hair in the salon. Keep in mind guys. It is okay and it is very common to have two different porosities. It'S common to have multiple textures, it's common to have more density in one area than the other. That is normal. That doesn't mean that your hair is damaged. That'S just me that just means that that's what god gave you that's just what you have all right, so we're finished with our curls i'm just going through and using my comb and just kind of combing through it giving her a little bit of wild style. A little bit - and i can tell you guys that you, the part that you guys did not see after the fact is when she was leaving and getting ready to go. She took her hands and she did the jenny jones fluff and was like, and i'm like. Okay, i'm thinking that she doesn't want it so big when she actually did so when she left. She was like yes, but i'm glad you guys um got a chance to watch this video something a little bit different like i said, please don't forget to comment, subscribe and also thumbs up this video, and i will see you guys in the next one. You

Shy Shy: I could never transition I was too impatient. I cut mine off at the scalp! Started completely over and best decision I’ve ever made! I love my natural hair, although I silk press it I still love the fact That my hair is chemical free and healthy

mjpharmd2006: I’ve never big chopped. I had shoulder length hair that I simply trimmed once a month. I think if you trim More often while transitioning you won’t need to big chop. I was taking off like 1/2 inch every 4 weeks. I did twist outs and would roll the ends with rods. No direct heat and bi-monthly deep conditioning. You just have to have patience and put in the effort. I’m natural for 5 years and I don’t know exactly at what point I was completely natural but my hair is longer than it’s ever been.

Patricia Brooks: Her hair looked healthier after the cut; simply beautiful. Great job!

T C: I really see what you mean with the “dead” relaxed hair. Her looks % better after cutting it off. It’s gorgeous!! Her hair reminds me of moist chocolate cake when it’s natural.

Roygbiv: I love the way you preserve as much ends as you can. I absolutely haaate seeing any of my length go so seeing a stylist be careful to cut only what is necessary is really awesome. Knowing me I would do what this lady did I’d hold on to the ends for a good minute but I know I don’t always make the best decisions lol

Gloria O'Neil: I did my chop because of the relaxers thinning me out more. I know medicine helped thin me as well. Thank you for always educating and not just throwing stuff out there.

Charmaine Francis: I went all natural 4 years ago and it took about a full year. I didn’t do the big chop and my hair is looks amazing now. Didn’t have much breakage at all but would’ve done the big chop if needed though.

DM Williams: I LOVE how you cut her relaxed ends off. I’ve never seen it done that way and it’s genius! I big chopped after 9 months because I noticed my hair started thinning ( it wasn’t over processed, I think it was due to aging). I’ve been natural 7 years and love it.

Karla Johnson: I big chopped after leaving my box braids in too long. I was literally tearing my hair apart when it came to the detangle portion of the take down and I was like, screw this....where's the scissors. And after it was all said and done I was in LOVEEEEEEE!!! this was in June.

Curly J1: Hi Crystal. I transitioned for 11 months. I didn't want to relax anymore because I felt like the "creamy crack" was taking life from my hair and just wasn't healthy or attractive. I have been natural since July 2018 and love it. I use your hair repair and growth shampoo/conditioner. The slip and feel is amazing. Can't wait to see results. Thank you.

Crash Watson: That turned out absolutely beautiful. I work at a long term care facility and this helped me out with so much information. Thank you.

Cherise M: No, cut it. Definitely will let it go. I'm 3 months into transitioning and definitely needed to see this video. Her fro is gorgeous! ❤️

SAMANTHA KINKEAD: During lthe covid lockdown in the UK I decided to go natural as my relaxed hair had started to grow out & no hairdressers were open. So when I finally got to go to a haircarer it had been 4 months since I last relaxed my hair. I had several deep treatments (5) & trims over a 3 month period & my hair had grown so much and was so healthy that I cut the ends off & went fully natural. 3 months later and still loving it.

Eyroni Heyoka Witch: 8:38 Stop right there! Her fro looks cute! Like it's already in a style. All she needed was some edge control & a big yellow flower on the side near her earShe's lucky, she looks really good right away. Most of us (like me) had to grow into our natural hair, and get used to seeing ourselves with shorter hair. Mine is almost belly button length now tho

SuthenGirl: Her hair looks beautiful. Her natural hair is so healthy!

The Childcare Entrepreneur: I really enjoy your videos. You teach and demonstrate. Thank you for helping me with my teenage daughters hair!! We both have learned so much.❤

Rosa Easter: Yes, I would cut the relax hair out. That was me some time ago. Because I call the strings of hair looks like spider webs because they are thin and looks bad. Once you finish, it going to be awesome. Great job getting g the big chop.

Cansbigsis: Ooh thanks for this video. I've done a big chop at least 3 times over the past 9 years. I want to say that each time I went 9 months and then cut the relaxed or texturized ends off. My hair doesnt like relaxer anymore, and as thick and hard to comb it is I find it to be healthier and more versatile now

Sophie12: Yes, definately do the big chop, been there done that. Reason being it looks much healthier and eliminate the risk of damaging the healthier hair. She has a lot of patients to wait that long for the chop, lol. it looks so much healthier now, beautiful hair!

Carmelita: Great video Crystal! Indeed, I would cut the relaxed hair! She has much more natural than relaxed and keeping it would have been unsightly and caused damage! Her end result was beautiful!❤️

Rose Jackson: I've been transitioning 2 years. My hair is waist length, and its thick from root to tip. I have no breakage.

mary king: Yes I would let that relaxed hair go.Her hair is so beautiful ❤️❤️ and you always do a excellent job.

Tina F: Great Video! I know she's glad she trusted you with her BC! It looks really good.! I didn't big chop and actually transitioned on my own. I have medium/fine (more Fine than medium) textured hair . When I was relaxed, I easily stretched the time between retouches to 3-5 months. It's hard to explain, but my new growth and relaxed hair got along very well so it wasn't difficult to manage both at the same time. One day, I just decided I wasn't going to get another relaxer. Going forward, I deep conditioned every week, trimmed it whenever "something didn't look right", and wore it in a very low manipulation silk press wrap style. It is/was too fine to do anything "fancy" with it and it worked for me! Current Status: Relaxed & BSL As of July 2021 I've gone back to the relaxer. I was tired of doing my own hair every week. So far so good and to tell the truth, my straight relaxed hair doesn't look much different than my straight natural hair (Team Fine Hair). Now it just doesn't "puff up" in rain or humidity.

Jaynel 919: Now that's how you do a big chop! I could barely last 3 months with transitioning. TFS

Patricia Hetherington: Crystal you did a wonderful and yes cut those dead ends ! I have no problems cutting my hair and I thought about becoming a natural but I'm not ready yet perm life for now .

Carolee Washington: I cut all my relaxed ends off after 2months of my last relaxer. Now I get a haircut every 6-8 weeks and I love it. Thank you for the videos.

Louise Styles: Her hair looks great! I like to see the face of the client as well and see how well the style frames her face and with makeup as well, appearing as a makeover. I love the before and after looks.

Geraldine Sims: Hello Crystal, I watch your videos a lot and I really enjoy them. This big chop video was awesome. Iike the way her hair looked thick and healthy after the chop and trim. I went natural about 20 years ago. I have never had a big chop, but I always wanted to. I guess I was too scared. Lol. You do an excellent job with your clients.

teresa dingle: The cancer treatments made my hair fall out, so I decided to go natural. It took me five hours to do my relaxed hair and it still takes the same amount of time. Hair was healthy relaxed and is healthy natural.

Cant Hide👀: I love watching an Elite Hair Care USA video with my coffee before I head out for the day..Such a treat!☺

Nessa D: I appreciate this process! Looks healthy and beautiful!

M N: I love that hairstyle!! Her hair was revitalized thanks to you!!☺️

DreaLocsofLuv Hakeem: It took forever years but once I fell in love with my curl pattern I fell in love with scissors lol I was natural for a decade before I loc'd up 4 years into my journey and love it

Complicated Never: Y'all, don't be afraid to get those relaxed cut off! I was holding on to those relaxed ends like a bad relationship. I had my hair cut down to an inch! That was in Feb. 2019. I now have hair down my back! With proper treatment and care, you'll be surprised how fast your hair grows! Let it go, ladies. Let it go!

OnyxMadeABaby Lp: When I decided to return to natural, I grabbed clippers and shaved my head. I think I hyperventilated, but it’s been 10 years this year, and I have no regrets.

Mischele Boston: Great advice about transitioning too long. My heat "trained" hair has been shoulder length or more my whole life (I'm 50), trimmed on schedule, no problems. Then came the traveling split ends...they eventually reached healthy hair and wreaked havoc...had to chop WAY shorter because of it....a year is too long to transition...this may not resonate with everybody, but I can relate to this scenario.

Crash Watson: Her natural hair is just beautiful. I absolutely love it and I wish I had it.

Wanda Hayes: I did a big chop about a year ago. After that my hair has grown so much.

kylia2009: Same thing happened to me when I went natural (both times) all the relaxed hair pretty much popped off… by time I was ready to chop there were only a few strands left.

Karebear77: Yes, if I had a lot of hair though. My hair is fine and doesn't seem to grow fast. Your client has a beautiful head of hair and can rock a short look, and I'm sure her hair will grow out and be healthier.

Maui 0235: I transitioned for a long time but I cut ✂️ my ends about every 2 months. Yes the hair should been cut off it looked horrible. Now it looks beautiful and very healthy. I loved chopping the rest of my relaxer off now my hair is so much healthier.

Brittany B: I did the big chop Saturday and I'm loving my natural hair. I haven't seen it since I was about 8 yrs old.

Kam E.: Her hair looks so awesome! I am in love with it!

Sharon Watts: Beautiful Crystal as always!!!! Love your work & knowledge of hair!!!

maxine gordon: I did my transition during the year long lockdown! Did not do the big chop at all, just trimmed it as I was was starting to grow out and I have never looked back! I have good healthy hair which is now in a puff! Love my natural hair. Hi from North Wales Uk ( love your channel) xx

Lakeshia Ball: Her hair looks very healthy you did a beautiful job❤️

Michelle EJA: Never big chopped. Just trimmed every 6 -8 weeks. This lasted around 18 months. That was 13 years ago and never looked back. Why did I go natural? Well I was tired of dry, brittle hair that did not thrive. Now I have hair down the middle of my back. I love the curls and vibrancy of natural hair. Its flexible, malleable and perfect

Diana Neal: Beautiful!!!! Happy Friday to u too.Keep up the great work.I so enjoy watching ur videos being newly natural myself and loving it.

Vinette Hart: Once again Crystal you did what you do best!

Darlene Tillman: This is how I transitioned you are doing a great job

Yolanda Cheek: Beautiful natural hair. For me, it took 6 months to 8months. I recently chopped it during my quarantine. I caught covid, and didn't want to deal with all that dead hair and I missed my curls so I big chopped my own hair. My curls are popping. But I do need to go and get it evened out. It's very uneven

Jana Grant: I haven't put a relaxer in 8 months!!!!! Looking at this video I think I am ready for the big chop, once I take these braids out. I wish you were near me. It's very hair to find versatile stylist. Can you also do more styles after the big chop?

Tamar Everette: You did an AMAZING job! Kudos to you!!☺

V Jones: Her hair was screaming YAS!!! THANK YOU ELITE HAIR CARE!!❤ BEAUTIFUL!!!❤

TheSub2rainen: Back in the ‘90s, I tried to blow it out and press it, maybe 6 months. I had enough and had it cut. The stylist tried to get me to keep bangs. Nope! I hesitated this time for months. I’d lost mobility and was sick and didn’t know why for a long time. My hair got matted very badly. I had a beautician comb it out and do a keratin treatment the first time, relaxer them second. She kept calling to schedule me when she needed money, so I didn’t want to go back to her. It’s been hard to keep it up, but braiding delayed the matting. Unfortunately, that only made it harder to unmatched the hair, so I ended up with two octopuses (I put the braids up into buns. I was able to save a bit of hair on one side, but only the new growth on the other (2-4”). So I cut that side off. I’m looking for someone who can do an asymmetrical or pixie cut. Now that my health is better, I can maintain it.

Darlene Jamison: Hello, Tuth be told I would not keep them because sooner or later it's gonna get worse. I'm impressed on you giving your client's a fantastic haircut and hairstyle. Continue being a great hairstylist and hope to see much more of your videos. God bless you and always stay safe.

LadyDeanna: I did my big chop at the beginning of quarantine last year. It was the best decision I ever made. It’s growing back nicely but not as fast as I hoped. Nevertheless I’m glad I don’t need relaxers anymore.

Nezby Odella: Great job, I just wish she would've taken her mask off so we could've seen her face, it would've really shown what a great job you did.

Butta: I had held onto my straight ends back in 1999 when I decided to transition ova,, because my radiation treatment for my thyroid wasn't threw with me. So B4 twist was really a thing, I conditioned, twisted and kept trimming until I was in a more decent place, health wise, which began to show on all of my appendages. In my case everything had taken a while to heal, but it eventually paid off mentally & physically... in my total transition, too bad I can't forward a picture here, you would witness mid back length, thick & strong hair. Forgot to mention that in 1983, I went all natural, and that involved a BIG chop of the Jerry Curl fail... which others tried to talk me out of, at the tyme.

I Wilson: It took me 7-8 months of transitioning before I let go of the relaxed hair. My hair was short and I looked good when I thought it would be just the opposite. I chopped because I was ready for my natural hair to come on in. The twistouts I attempted were looking raggedy with the straight ends, the straight ends were breaking off…I was simply ready to rock my natural hair and because I know that God does not make any mistakes, I knew my hair would be bomb. If I were to type my hair, it would be 4b/c ish, high density. I fully embraced my hair every step and transition making changes with products, styling routines, etc. as necessary. 99% of the time I slay wash n gos and now that my hair is colored you really can’t tell me nothin’!!! If you are on the fence just do it because it will likely be one of the best decisions you have made for yourself.

ladygummibear: Awesome job. I have big chopped several times. Never went pass a year after the last relaxer.

K M: Amazing Job Crystal!!! From start to finish!

Wanda King: Yes. I big chopped after transitioning for 7 months. It was the best decision I ever made. I got tired of dealing with the two textures.

B J Smith: Took me 9 mos to transition. Those relaxed ends kept tangling with the natural. Had no problem letting it go. Actually my hair took off in growth. Felt the every 6 wk trim only encouraged healthier growth.

Sandra De La Motta: Great job Crystal. I big chop 8 months after my last relaxer. Never made a better decision. Now I am enjoying my fro

Ciara L: Healthy & beautifully done. What is a good trim cycle? Love the way you cut.

Mary Jones: Beautiful work always!!!! ❤

Robert Green: I think that you did a very good job, at hair was hanging on a string and now it looks so full and now it can flourish.‍♀️‍♀️

Valerie Mickens: Her hair looks nice. You explain so good. Thanks for sharing.

Melody Scott: Hello Crystal! Beautiful job. I would have to say chop it off! It is dead let it go.I am naturally. I decided to do the big chop when my ends looked like strings.

Rudiann Wildgoose-Laing: Well I decided to go natural after an incident with my hair stylist forgetting that my sew in was coloured a few months before I got a perm. This cause alot of my hair to fall out but was fortune to have enough hair for creative sew in until my hair grew enough to wear natural. When I finally took the sew in out the perm ends was like live vines; it kept wrapping around itself which making it difficult to clear out/detangle so I just pull off as much of the perm ends as I could and then let my sister in law who was a stylist clean it up. All of this occurred over about a year period.

T K: NO BIG CHOP! I would hang on to the relaxed hair because thatś what I did to grow my natural hair LONNNG! I rode the relaxed hair all the way to length! And then when I cut off the straight parts after 5 years, my hair was SUPER LONG. My virgin/natural hair was and is very LONG and healthy. I protective styled the natural and relaxed hair together to keep them both as healthy as possible and now my hair is almost waist length.

marcia peak: No to holding on to the strands. I've seen some where there was much more relaxed hair than natural. In that case I would transition slowly, just straightening with hot comb, but in the case if this client, cutting all relaxed ends is necessary.

Diane Green: No, I went through a big chop a year and a half ago. My stylist knew the old relaxed hair was dead weight and was full of split ends... so every time she did a braid foundation for the protective styles I wore... she cut some of the relaxed hair for about 3 months. My hair is healthy and strong, relaxer free!!!

Mary Elhalfy: I love your work, amazing!

Cassandra Reed: I would definitely cut all the stringy dead in, because the new growth seems so healthy and that old straight hair would have caused a big difference in the appearance.

Doll Person: I did the big chop cos my hair was falling out due to the stylist didn't get the chemicals completely out. Tht made me go natural for sure. Went from mid back length hair to a ear cut in a matter of 3 days. Water under the bridge... but the cut was necessary. Love ur knowledge.

Keshan Frazier: I went short with a big chop a few times in my lifetime. My hair grows fairly quick. I normally do the big chop because I want my hair short & want to do several Colors over the months. However what I had noticed in doing so with all the colors was I got lazy and my hair still grew fast but it was truly growing like wild fire In a forest. I’m learning because I’m about ready to do an end of the year big chop.

ChelleSlays: I say I wouldn’t hang in to it because I’d rather have a shorter style knowing my hair is on the way to healthy and over time it will grow and your hair will thank you for it !!! Great job on her hair looks so good!!!!

Cianne Skeete: I luv your videos, my hair was straighten when I was 18 years old, I decided to go natural about 6 years ago. Was thinking about it for a while and one Saturday I got up went to the hairdresser and just had it cut off. My hair was in the middle of my back and when I left the hairdresser it was only 3 inches long

Desirae Doing The Most: I would cut the relaxed ends off because I feel like they would get tangled with every hairstyle I try. But I've never been one to worry about if my hair was long or short. Just as long as the hairstyle is cute.

Chrissy Phillips: My reason for transitioning; 2 words- HOT FLASHES. Its been almost 18 months. Didn’t big chop because I think a TWA will look masculine on me. But after listening to you and seeing this video, I’m scheduling a hair appointment. I’d rather have health vs length. Thanks for sharing

Barbara Lindsey: I went natural last year. My beautician did a big chop on my hair the way that you did it.

Sagqueen123: Looks so much healthier. I did April 2020 and my hair is same length it was as it was permed but was more thick and healthy. Best decision I made.

Lashawnda B: Been natural for 15 years. I’ve ran out of styles to do. I wear two strand twist and twist outs. Took me 1 year to chop it off when I decided to go natural.

Joyce Corbin: Great job as always

Rena Morris: This is what I desperately need done to my hair. I live in a small town and there are no salons that specialize in black women's hair.

Patricia GO: Yes, I transitioned down to the bitter last 1 inch. It took 3 years but I did it. I wore lots of twist-outs and braid-outs. I had mid-back length hair and still with my natural hair, I have coily hair to the mid-back. Trim about 1/4 inch every two months.

Rose Washington: I colored and then relaxed so the big chop was done for me about 6 months ago! But now I don’t think I’m going back to a relaxer because I love being natural ❤️

LaToya *: No! I went relaxer free Oct 2020. I did not cut anything. I was focused on getting my scalp healthy. I got some advice from a professional of 40 years & my hair grew so fast. At 8 months I did a big chop. I cut off 4 inches of dead hair. My hair is full, healthy & amazing! I finally figured out how to style my new hair texture! I went from my hair falling out in gobbs to none at all! I have no shedding! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Glenda Moses: I waited about 9 months because I didn’t know what was happening. I had a perm for over 45 years. It took a lot of thought and tears. God is GOOD and I have braids that started from curly twists.

Vanessa Brown: You have done a beautiful job on her hair I love the way it came out

Eve: Nice and healthy sis! That’s right!” Just letitGO!!! Good job thanks for sharing!!

Model Butterflies: Honestly I can’t remember but there is a video on my channel about my hair journey. I think the last relaxer was in December 2008 and I big chopped in January 2009 I believe. I was just tired of deal with the two textures

Jimmie Deshonna Lynn Jackson: Yes I would cut the relax hair out. Actually I did do that 10 years ago. My hair at that time felt synthetic wouldn't hold any curls or anything so I made the decision to cut it off best decision I ever made

Healthoverlength: Big chop all the way! Because I don’t have the patience for the two different textures. I went natural simply because I was tired of relaxing. My relaxed hair was fine but I was over it. Beautiful job!

beautifulsoul: Her hair is going to grow healthy now!

sharling perez: I shaved it all off! Best decision I ever made. My hair is healthy, shiny and have beautiful curls.

Annette Williams: Absolutely cut those relaxed ends, and yes her hair looks great.

Maderian Johnson: This is the exact condition that my hair is in right now & I need a big chop & a trim also. NOTE: I wish that this professional hair stylist & specialist could do my hair! NOTE: She is "Amazing"!!
