Hey queen, so it's been a minute since i did a hair update so today i'll be sharing my hair care routine. Also, my hair growth, routine. Everything that i have been doing to take care of my 4c twa afro, let's get into it. So for those of you who are new or unfamiliar with my journey, i shaved my hair off um about five months ago, and this is a picture of how my hair looked. So. This is just an update from where we've come from that video all right. We'Ve definitely come a long way and i'm just here to share with you a couple of the things that i have been doing to maintain my hair minimize, the shedding the excessive shedding that i had and really just repair my strands back to the original health of My hair in general, alright, so the first step in my routine is to shampoo my hair, i'm still using my fave, my staple the aussie moist line, and this shampoo just really removes the buildup dirt and oils from my hair. So i like to massage that in very very well - and i also take this hand tool here - it helps the shampoo really deeply penetrate and scrape my scalp very gently. It reminds me the softness of the bristles remind me of the buds of my fingertips, so it's very gentle to my scalp and it gives me a deeper clean and i feel like because i'm on a nail care journey, i don't have to damage my nails by Trying to scrub my scalp, i can just use this tool and it's very effortless, very simple - to use and effective okay. So after shampooing, my hair, i'm introducing a new product into my routine for the very first time, and that is rice water. So i know at one point: rice: water was trending all over um, but of course i do things on my own time and i just after my research and everything i just decided that i really want to give this a try, and so that's what i'm doing. Okay, so before i get into how i apply the rice water to my hair and my scalp, i'm going to show you first how i made it me. So, oh all right, so i initially planned for the rice water to only sit for about a week. It ended up sitting for a little over that and i'll put the exact time on the screen here. So you have that information but yeah, so it fermented for a long time, which is perfectly fine based on my research. So now i'm going to show you how i incorporate it into my routine okay, so my application for the rice water is fairly simple, since i have this pointed applicator bottle. I simply can point it to my scalp specifically and apply this picture and just squeeze it out, and then i also like to apply it on top of my hair, because i want to get it on the scalp as well as my hair strands. So that is what i did and then i massaged it in for about a minute or two and then lastly, i just put a plastic cap on and allowed it to sit for about five to seven minutes. Okay, so after allowing the rice water to sit, i rinsed it out with water, and then i proceeded with the rest of my routine. As far as the leftover solution, i'm gon na store it in the refrigerator for one more use next week, and then i will remake a batch of the rice water again to continue my use since rice water is so new to my routine. I'M going to test it out for about a month to see if i'm seeing any significant changes within my hair in general and then i will either continue the use or discontinue the use, but i'll definitely keep you guys, updated all right. So after rinsing out the rice water, i follow up with my aussie moist conditioner. This is an absolute staple in my routine as well, and i just massage that in for about three minutes and rinse out with warm water now after rinsing out the conditioner, i either follow up with a deep conditioner or cholesterol treatment. Today i ended up doing the deep conditioner and this is again by the aussie moist line. This is their three minutes: miracle moist conditioner and i just go ahead and fully saturate my hair with this, and i also detangle with this as well, and i allow this to sit in my hair for about five to seven minutes. If i can go longer, i will definitely go longer. So while i have this sitting under the plastic cap, i like to go ahead and just complete the rest of my shower routine as normal, and then i will rinse it out later. So i know you heard me mention deep conditioner and cholesterol treatment. Let me just quickly expand on that. They both do the same thing by repairing your hair, follicles, deepening the moisture balance within your strands. However, the cholesterol treatment is like a super deep conditioner and it repairs the strands with heavier ingredients. So that is why i kind of just alternate the two, because they both really work together as strengthening my hair follicles, and i just love using the cholesterol treatment and just incorporating it into my routine all right. So i encourage you to do your own research. If you are unfamiliar with what cholesterol treatments are for natural hair, definitely research it and see if it works for you and your routine okay. So after i've applied the deep conditioner, of course, i rinsed it out after i've completed the rest of my shower routine. Once i've made it out the shower, i'm then going to quickly apply my leave-in conditioner all over my hair um. I have been using a different product and i'll pop it up here, but i've tried using this product twice and it left a lot of flakes all throughout my hair and it just completely messed up. My look so i would not recommend this product, but i did want to mention it just in case. You know you run across it. You know somewhere um and because i don't have a lot of products and i'm not a product junkie. I didn't have a backup. So i'm just going to use my leave-in conditioner to create a little bit of definition, because ultimately, what i'm trying to do is just create a little bit of ringlets, because if you are familiar with 4c hair, you have a curl pattern. But it's not really a defined curl pattern and i want to see just a couple of ringlets here and there. So that is why i'm doing this portion of my routine, you can skip this portion of the routine if you don't want to incorporate it in, but this is just what i do to get. You know to get a little curl, okay for the leave-in conditioner. As you can see, i'm applying it directly to my hair. My hair is completely wet and it just really absorbed this product very, very well. I massage it in just for maybe 30 30 seconds to about a minute and we're pretty much good to go. Make sure you get your edges and the back of your hair? Okay, so once i've applied the leave-in conditioner. I just use this sponge here that i purchased off of amazon and i just go in circular motions. I know some people like to use their hands. For me, the sponge is a little bit more effective. So i just like to see just a couple of ringlets here and there just to have a little bit of curl definition all right. So once i'm satisfied with how my ringlets are looking again, we're not going for super defined just a little bit of curl peekaboos here and there, then i'm pretty much good to go to move on to the rest of my routine. So i'm going to go ahead and lay my edges. Now i don't like my edges every single day, because it's not necessary, but when i do here are the two products that i use, so i use the style factor edge booster, which i will post right here. This is a very good product, but if i use it alone, it will create flakes in my hair, and i don't like that, so i use it in combination with the curls blueberry bliss curl paste all right. So i'm going to pop that up here. So you can get a better image of that as well. These two in combination with each other work very, very well, and i don't have any flakes after a little a little bit of both these products go a long way all right. So after i've applied both edge controls to my edges and i've just overlapped them. I then go ahead and i take my edge brush. I did rinse it out with a shampoo first to make sure that there's no excess product that i used previously on the brush itself and then i take it and i brush the strokes um. I take little brush strokes and i just try to make little c's. I don't try to do the most of my edges. I just want to make sure that it looks like something you know all right so for me laying my edges in this way, even with the minimal product last about two days, and also if it just depends on your lifestyle. If you work out, your edges might puff up a little bit more, so you might have to reapply product more often, so it really just depends okay. So moving on to the next step. Now, if you guys have watched my last video, you know that i currently see a dermatologist, and my next visit is scheduled for about six months from now um but yeah. The last visit that i went to i had one problem spot that hair would not actually grow, and i'm gon na pop up a picture right here. So you can see um, and that area is like this part kind of like right here. My hair would not grow in that area and i couldn't figure out why and everything else was flourishing and doing perfectly fine. So what she did was she just put two steroid shots in that area, specifically ever since getting that steroid shot, my hair has been growing in that spot. It definitely has to catch up with the rest of my hair, but so far so good. Okay, now for my last step of my hair care routine. As far as what i apply directly to my hair, i'm using three foams that were recommended to me by my dermatologist, these three foams that i'm going to show you. I chose foams from the dermatologist versus like shampoos, or things like that or medication. Just because for me, it's easier to apply foams to any type of hairstyle that i have, and i don't have to necessarily take down my hair in order to apply it or you know it's just it's just the easier way for me. So the very first foam that i'm going to be applying is going to be the rogaine foam. Now i'm going to be applying all three foams in kind of like a tea fashion, because when i had the hair loss, i had hair loss here around the perimeter of my hair and then i had it in like this zone right here. So it's kind of like my t-zone and that's the application process that i'll be using so for the rogaine in particular. This is how i apply it, and then i just massage it into the scalp, and it specifically helps to reactivate hair follicles to stimulate growth, and it has been clinically proven to regrow hair all right so after thoroughly massaging that product into my scalp and kind of Tapping it into my edges, i then go in with the next foam, which i will put up here, i'm not going to butcher the name all right and again, as you can see, i'm applying this product in that tea fashion, as well now, occasionally with all three Foams, i will apply it throughout my hair, maybe twice a month, but for right now, i'm just going to focus on this t-zone now again. This foam here is an anti-fungal medication which is used to treat fungal or yeast infections of the skin, and it also minimizes your dry flaky, scalp or dandruff as well. So it's a very, very useful product to have, and i love incorporating this into my routine up next - is this foam here, so i don't want to butcher the name, so i'm just popping up the image for your visual, of course, if i can find a link To it down below i'll link it as well, but this specific foam i'm going to apply it again in the tea fashion to make sure that i get those targeted areas that were causing me concern. Now this specific hair foam i use specifically for to minimize hair itching so anytime, i feel like my hair - is itching. I will go ahead and pop this product in and it's very great at just you know getting rid of that itch. So this definitely helps to treat certain scalp and skin conditions, which is why i incorporate it into my routine okay. So that is everything i apply directly to my hair outside of that, what's incorporated in my hair care, regimen is this vitamin here now this vitamin has tons of amazing ingredients that is going to help build a healthy environment for your hair, your skin, your nails, and I haven't had any major side effects like i have with other hair pills that i've taken in the past. So this is just a really great product and i highly recommend it is a bit expensive. But it's well worth it in my opinion and if i can find a link to it, i will link it down below okay. So with all that being said, that is my complete haircare routine from start to finish, but i'm going to leave you with a little mini hair update, so i'm just going to go through a little mini timeline of my natural journey so far, so this is the Longest, my 4c natural hair has ever been right here, and this is when i had to shave it off. So when i shaved it off for me, i felt amazing after and i felt like you know, it definitely looked pretty nice on me, but i'm glad to see that my hair is flourishing. This is five months later and my hair looks amazing. I feel like the thickness has gotten back to where it was my trouble area. I haven't had any issues with excessive shedding or anything like that, so i am so grateful for the journey that i've been on because i've learned so much. Also, i'm going to go ahead and include a little length check, so you can see how long my hair has grown since shaving it off so yeah. This is how long it's looking i love my length. I think that it's very different than when i actually baked chopped, because when you big chop, you kind of have a little bit of new growth and then, of course, you get some additional growth on top of that, so your hair is a little longer when you Do a big chop, however, when you shave off your hair and you know you're trying to grow it back. This is a realistic expectation of what you can expect from a five month period and i have a dermatologist that is right in my corner and she is just so helpful, um and patient and understanding, and i encourage you like if you are dealing with any type Of issue, of course, there are home remedies that you can do, but you want to make sure you have some medical professional in your corner to help. You know kind of guide you along the way and make sure that that person has your best interest in mind and that they actually are hearing you as you talk and discuss what your hair has been going through and maybe what you feel that it needs. So all right, so with that being said, i'm going to continue to give you hair updates along the way, but i hope you guys enjoyed today's video if you did feel free to give it a thumbs up subscribe to my channel. If you haven't already - and i will see you guys in my next one bye guys - you

Fashion Gal: Thank you for posting and thank you for the update!!! You have helped me with my decision to shave my head and start over as well. I have no scalp issues (thank God), I just want to start fresh as I feel my hair has thinned out tremendously from going to various stylist that over brushed my 4c hair. I typically wear sew-ins and every time I take it down, I noticed my hair getting thinner and thinner. I want to start fresh and go to a stylist who only specializes in natural hair.

S Black: (4c, really kinky, dry, and lots of breakage) I make a hair spritz for itching and general moisturizing: 1 tsp ACV, 3 drops Tea tree oil, 1 tbsp olive oil and, 1 cup water, 1 tbsp jojoba oil (optional), you can feel it soothing your scalp. And scalp health seemed to be most important for me during the early stages. I started growing my hair during lock down, and that was all I used until it got thick. I was getting a lot of breakage, then I learned about conditioner and my journey officially began; I've been growing it out since. Your video was very informative, I never considered Rogaine for faded areas, I will "do the research".

OHoneyPot: I recently started all over again due to scalp issues in my crown. I also get them steroid shots, they help a lot. I will ask her to recommend a foam. Thanks for this video ✨✨

jahmai holland: Her fireplace set up in the back with the log candle holder is too freaking cute

P Armstrong: Great info especially the dermatologist part since I have thinning issues . What made you decide to shave your head?

O T: I'm a black male with 4c hair. I wanted to know what would you recommend ?

Ana Sufitchi: I suggest talk about no sulfates fast hair growth shampoo.
