Hi, it's amanda welcome to my channel. This is the fourth week of my bob123 series. Last week i finished my review on camille rose and for the next three weeks i will be featuring another brand. Any guesses melanin hair care, as most people know she released her shampoo last friday at 12, 30. So at 12 31 i checked out for 30 dollars of shampoo, it's a 19 product, or so, but shipping and insurance on the shipping brought me to 11 plus. For the sake of this video, i spent 30 on a shampoo. Let'S hope it's great. I haven't used this product in six months. I posted my review of her line using the chocolate kings and curls clay wash as my shampoo february. I posted it on february 29th, which means i was like two weeks post, big chop, so i'm coming from a very different perspective now and i'm really really excited to use these products. I haven't even taken the products out of the box, yet some people like to see how things arrive and let's find out together. So it came like this, so i don't even know what that postpartum looks like. Oh, it's a nice picture of her look at that hair. I want to use the same products. This woman uses hold up the postcard and she has some literature here. Let'S just jump down to the how to use on wet hair applied directly to the scalp. Oh great, she has a nozzle top and work into a lather massage. The shampoo into your scalp then drag the excess lather down the length of your strands to cleanse your hair rinse away and follow up with the rest of the products main event. It'S in here, lying down, like it's in a coffin, remind anyone else with a coffin. Well, these products are vegan, so nothing in here was ever you know. I mean plants are alive too. Okay. I thought i was going somewhere with that fact. Number one melanin, hair care was founded by popular youtube, influencer, whitney white, otherwise known as natural 85 and her sister taffeta fun fact. We fostered a rabbit named taffeta last year and she had some really great fur. So i hope that's a good sign for the products. The second one i know this because i found her channel early on in my natural hair journey and i watched a ton of her videos. But she has always very much been into diys and has always been a proponent of using really clean ingredients in her products, which i assume is why she was doing a lot of diy. She could control what was going into her products. With that in mind, i remember her mentioning this. When she first launched her brand, she spent six years trying to find the right manufacturers that would live up to her standards to make sure that she is delivering quality products and that these people would care as much about ingredients. And all of that, as she does, all of the synthetic ingredients have all been well researched and they are there because she needs to have some kind of preservatives in her product. And the third fact for today is that she was actually trained as a graphic designer. I think this is notable to mention, because when people think about creating products, it seems like such a daunting thing. You have to have a background in chemistry or this or that you don't i'm gon na go, get started on what i'm going to finally be calling. My one shower wash day when i used these products last time i used her leave-in as both a deep conditioner and leave-in, not washing out the deep conditioner. So i am taking one shower now and that's it melanin african black soap reviving shampoo with revitalizing tea tree soothing, turmeric and black cumin seed. I'Ve heard black cumin seed is really good for your hair. This nozzle looks really jumbo right. Now. Okay, you twist it like. Okay, this is just like her oil, always it's strong. It has a very sweet molasses-y smell with yeah peppermint. Maybe that peppermint is tea tree and not peppermint. It doesn't smell like turmeric, i don't know what cumin seed roundup and like liquefied would smell like. Let'S move on, oh, i see peppermint and the consistency it's thick for a shampoo. I want to put too much because this thing might lather a lot. This is a 16 fluid ounce bottle just pretty big okay. Sometimes, when i would put that amount of shampoo in my hair and then start massaging it, my hair would just explode in a bathtub of like bubbles. It'S not. This is not doing that. It does have a nice lather going there, but you do have to work. It in i got something in my eye and it's burning a little bit. My eyes are sensitive to peppermint, i'm not faulting the product for that at all. I know there's peppermint in it, but my eye is burning. There are worse things, though, like dry, unhealthy hair, i would prefer to be using my scalp massage, but oh it's right over there. So far, it feels good. It feels like it's doing something, but i do feel like any time. There'S a strong peppermint smell. I just feel like it's doing something and that's possible because peppermint's just really good for your scalp. I don't know if it's good for your hair. I know african black soap is supposed to be really cleansing. I wouldn't say this is a softening or moisturizing conditioner, but it's not stripping. Let'S see what it means to be a reviving shampoo designed to cleanse your hair and scalp without stripping away your beneficial natural oils, so you're left with hydrated bouncy defined healthy hair. Okay. So it's definitely not stripping my hair. I agree with that. I have used more moisturizing shampoos, but i have no issue with this. It feels good i like this shampoo and for shampoos. I just want to know that the product doesn't have any nasty bits in it. I can trust the ingredients and all of that and that it's cleansing my hair and then it's not stripping. It ticks all of those boxes. So, let's proceed. I think i've been working this in for long enough. I am going to go and rinse my hair i'll be back to apply the deep conditioner, oh in terms of ingredients and people's sensitivities. Let me just take a gander at the ingredients, so just shea butter and glycerin, my hair feels a lot softer having just rinsed out the product melanin multi-use softening leave-in conditioner. You can use this in seven different ways. This is with nourishing baobab oil turnip root and pro vitamin b5. Let me take a quick look at the ingredients. Just glycerin see what my hair is. Looking like, i'm going to take a pump, it's slippery. Oh it's got slip. I think it needs to be rubbed in a couple of minutes before that slip appears, but i felt when it came in and it's come in full force. This feels amazing. It'S very softening borderline silkening. I was very surprised. The first time i used this that it did condition my hair because my hair tends to like thick products. I think this works better when it's wet, i'm gon na put a little water in yeah. That'S when the slit arrives. This feels fantastic. We might be in the middle of a pandemic and i haven't been to a public place in the last six months, but at least this deep conditioner is making my hair feel real soft. I didn't explain this series when i first started this video. I completely forgot, but first week with melon haircare will be a twist out next week. I will do a braid out and the third week i will be doing a rod set and every week i will offer three facts about the company. I just want to take a moment to note that it is such a huge advantage to me that i did not have to go back into the shower to rinse out my hair, so that shrunk up a lot. That'S a good sign! It'S not quite, but it's a close second to my favorite deep conditioners. It feels really good and it feels really healthy. It'S just not as soft as handmade omega-3 and fatty acid. Deep penetrating hair mask is my favorite deep conditioner. It doesn't feel as amazing, as my hair does after applying that, but it feels really good. It'S not just about how soft your hair feels it's really how it wears and all of that throughout the week melanin twist elongating style cream. I haven't seen this in six months, but i remember it being really thick, so this is how much i used of it during my last application, not much it looks like i just walked on some fresh snow, it's very thick, but this is not the thickest styling Cream that i have used oops, i forgot to part my hair. What am i doing so here is pre style cream. I think the i think the deep conditioner has been my hair for about two hours that feels fantastic on application, huge amount of slip, and it just feels really moisturizing wow. This feels amazing, but it's been like eight minutes of me, just stroking, my hair. So let me just get started on the twist. Okay, let's see where the hair wants to separate first twist down i'll, be back whenever smell has changed a lot, since my first application smells like a cream. I know good scent, isn't really what these products are about. Twists are complete and i'll be back in a day or two when these are finally dry just my thoughts on the cream. It is very creamy in areas where the leave-in had largely dried and it was feeling a little bit. I want to say lifeless, but it wasn't ready for a twist like it didn't have that nice juicy twist feel to it, adding the cream really reactivated it. I'Ve noticed over time that judging my twists right after i've installed them doesn't really mean much. So i'm not going to say anything. I just wanted you to see what they are. Looking like i'll be back when it's ready to take these out. With the help of my hooded dryer, my hair is dry in less than 48 hours melanin multi-use, pure oil blend. The twists feel really good, not among the most moisturized twists that i've ever felt, but they still feel great. I'M gon na go and take the rest out. I always get really good definition when i first take out my twist, so these might not have been the softest twists. I'Ve ever felt i feel like these are among the best looking unseparated twists that i have achieved. I'M gon na have to go back in my archives and see if i fully agree with that, but that is my first unresearched opinion. So this is hanging interesting, but i think i like it this side. I feel like i look like some kind of a rocker like a really cool one in like leather pants and on this side, it's more like me, like. I don't know why these are all like long, but anyway, this is the final twist out. I am really happy to be back in a twist out. Why is it so lopsided? I have no idea what i did to create this lopsided look, but i don't hate it. I don't hate it. I'M getting used to now seeing my hair look differently. So maybe this is a new thing. My hair feels incredibly moisturized. It is nicely shiny, probably not on camera, but off camera. It'S pretty shiny. I'Ve got some nice definition. I hope this lasts until next wash day. I suspect it will these products have good hold. This is a little bit wet still so that is still twisted, but i think the hairstyle could hide it well enough, that's it! I hope you enjoyed this video. I hope this review was helpful for you. I know this is a very highly anticipated product. If you tried out this new melanin product, let me know in the comment section what you think about it. I will be back next week for the same wash routine, but i'll be styling with a braid out. If you like, my content, please consider subscribing like share comment feedback and all of that good stuff and i'll talk to you. My next one thanks and have a good one.

Felicia Dunn: Congratulations to Whitney and her sister for launching this product line!

CoCoButterCurls: Your twist out came out really nice and defined. I love the twist cream. I haven’t tried the shampoo yet but I’m super excited to. Great review!

Najiba Al-Taqi: My shampoo is on its way, but I love the other products! Your hair looks great! Healthy and bouncy!

TiffofallTrades: I absolutely love Whitney and the twisting cream and oil. I haven't yet tried the leave in or the new African black soap shampoo. I definitely will be ordering it. I can't wait for her to come out with a deep conditioner and gel

Raquel Bryant: I absolutely LOVE my Melanin Haircare 7 n 1 Conditioner! It is my staple Conditioner! I also love the Melanin Haircare Multi-Use Oil (I use it on my body as well ). The shampoo is more of a clarifying shampoo minus the moisture stripping. I plan to use it once a month to ensure I shampoo out any product buildup.

KAMULAH KITT: This is my first time watching your channel and I subscribed quickly when you were trying to get the leave in out lol. I like that you try products out using different styles to give a thorough review.

T. F: I love the style of your video! Short, simple, informative hitting all of the key points, and entertaining to watch! Subscribed!

Brian Lee: And thaaaas it! lol! I'm really interested in picking this line up after I make a bigger dent in my Camille Rose stash. The "rocker look" makes it look like you have locks!

NaturallyCorporate: I love the Rocker side and the You side. ☺️ glad to know that your hair is shiny and moisturized. Can you believe I don’t have any products from this line at all yet?

lyn Laugh247: FYI: You twisted your hair with half your hair wet and half dry. Applying products to the drier side will give you more elongation and a looser curl pattern. It’s important to be consistent once you decide if you’re choosing a wet or dry application. You should’ve misted the drier side before applying your products. The hydrated side has more lift and bounce because the products absorbed better and helped seal in the moisture. In addition the Melanin elongating cream adds more stretch. When I use her cream I can literally rake my fingers through my roots which is impossible at any other time because my roots are the tightest and curliest sections of my hair.

Maurica Wilson: Also follow her twist out tutorials. Due to the fact that she is promoting her twists out creams- she’s been giving great advice on how to twist, and lay hair so that it dries well.

chrissy11217: Do you think maybe your dryer dried it un-evenly? I know that sometimes I have to do a quarter turn because for some reason both sides of my hair are never the same amount of dry. I've come to accept it LOL!

CurlsWithLove: I thought I watched this already mybad but yeah i smelled the peppermint too. love this line as you know lol the leave in is my favorite

Melvina G Davis: Hey Amanda, thank for the video. I was curious about that product. Will you review TGIN also? I really would like to know what you think about that product line.

Jermaine Au Natural: Liked the full wash day review and the twist out was really really good

Denise Hardy: You look beautiful just like a model. I hope you will review the As I Am line too if you haven't already as I am a new subscriber too. Great job!

It is what it is....: I love your voice, so intelligent...like a teacher lol...new subbiecan’t wait to see more!

BandaQueen Love: You said your hair was soft after washing it out and I was like huuhh??? Most people said they felt that stripping feeling kudos to you. I ordered mine today and hopefully I like it

Jheri Johnson: Great video! I want to give the African Black Soap shampoo a try.

Dinah Nicole: I really like your energy!

Life's A Dance: I keep watching these reviews and most have not used the product with the directions that were sent. Leave in oil then cream. Then you will get moisture retention.

BlackWomanThings: Just found you and I already love you

Stef: Yayyyy 602 subscribers Nice review, I’m glad you didn’t have a problem with the shampoo

Rita Collier: Hi Amanda! Always enjoy your video. You are very thorough. How is your definition holding up

Jere's Space: I had no idea about this product. I feel like I'm super late ! I will try it. New subbie here!!

Tress To Impress: I need to try this melanin hair care! It’s kind of expensive!

Maurica Wilson: Thanks for this honest review

Maamserwaa Ameyaw: I have a question, why do you keep rubber bands in your hair while washing it ?

wanna benatural: I am new to your channel maybe we can support each other. I just tried my shampoo today it is good. The leave in oil and styling cream I will not repurchase

MACKnificent Curls: Your hair turned out really nice

Helen Short: No oil after the elongating cream?

SHARECAGE: For future reference you should get in the shower in order to do inappropriate review on her hair products they work actually better than the way you're utilizing it your hair supposed to be literally saturated and water like literally washed and then after you wash your hair then you go in with the products... It seems to me like you're putting product on barely washed or wet hair with you're not going to get the full effect. Look at how natural 85 use her own products to learn how to actually use them properly. Overall your here is beautiful but saturate your hair inside of water

CurlsWithLove: side note: yessss arms and shoulder muscles

Contrary Canary: Love the video but can we talk about your arms! We need a fitness video!

Michele: May I ask why you have gloves on?

Anne Michelae: those trapss tho!! Gains!!!
