Hey welcome to this week's video.. It is Beauty on a Budget Part 2.. Last week's video was a full face of drug store. Makeup.. If you didn't see it I'll provide a link to it.. I chose all NYX makeup because I love the fact that they are vegan and cruelty-free., And I also tend to think that their products wear exceptionally well., So I had a really really good experience with them. Last week. This week I went back into the drug store and the focus is haircare. Speaking of hair you're, probably noticing things are just a little bit shorter than they were last week and I sort of had an epiphany. Going into summer. It'S starting to get really hot here.. We had our first 90-degree day and I thought ,''. You know I just want something: easy and cool and quick to style and I'm not relying on flat, irons and curling irons to create a look.''. I think my hair was just screaming for a break.. It got a break., So I really focused on that when I was choosing some products at the drug store.. Another thing I'm focusing on since I do color my hair. A lot of you do sulfate-free paraben-free a lot of chemical-free products, and I have really really seen a change in the quality of product. That'S coming to the drug store.. They are very very mindful of the fact that the consumer is looking for clean ingredients, and so I made it a point to also look for things that really fit that bill. Also some products that I've used through the years that have worked for me.. I mean you want something that's going to perform as well.. It'S got to check off a lot of boxes., So let me talk about the first two products that will go into the shower with me and then I'll be able to continue the video after that, starting with the shampoo.. This is a new one for me in fact.. It is by Love, Beauty and Planet.. It is the Murumuru Butter & Rose Blooming, Color, sulfate-free, shampoo. Vibrancy for color-treated hair and acts of love for our planet.. So this is going to come into the shower with me.. It'S going to be my shampoo., I went out of the line for the conditioner because I've used this product before and I think Pantene has really really come. A long. Way. They've always had great products, but now they're also making products that are sulfate-free and getting the chemicals out.. So this is fortifying damage repair with castor oil., I can say: that. Sulfate-free conditioner intensely strengthens for resilient hair, lasting frizz control, no sulfates parabens dyes or mineral oils.. So that makes me very very happy., So these two are coming with me into the shower.. We'Re going to clean the hair and we're going to move on from there and do some styling with some different products, some new things that I found exciting things based on reviews and performance, and I cannot wait to get to that. Part. So just hold that thought. Wand waved. We're back. Couple of notes. That shampoo smelled incredible and the conditioner made my hair feel silky smooth.. So so far, so good.. Okay, now we're going to move on to some styling products, and this is where our needs may vary.. If you've followed me for any length of time, you know that I battle frizz and I need heat protection and something that's going to keep my hair silky smooth.. I'M in a humid climate. I have naturally curly kinky hair, so taming the main is priority. Number one for me. The product that I went for is something that I have used before and that is John Frieda. Frizz Ease Straight Fixation, Styling Crème., It smooths hair. For straight styles, that last all day, 24 hours., It's a heat protectant. And in this case you just take a little bit and you apply to damp hair.. And since I don't have a lot, I'm not using a lot. But my main areas that frizz tend to be right along the hairline here. So I'm going to concentrate more of the product there and then work my way through.. If your issue is fine hair or you need volume, I can't tell you how many amazing products that I passed by in the aisle that offered volume and texture and fullness and all of that.. So I can tell you this: you will find what you need at the drug store.. I didn't want to use anything that I had in the house., So I found two brushes, one of which is going to be a volumizing brush, looks like so, and it's by GSQ by GLAMSQUAD Ceramic Thermal Brush Extra Extra, More volume, more style. Creates curls and loose Natural-Looking waves. Adds lift and volume. Again, you don't necessarily have to get it in the product. You'd be amazed at how much the right brush can impact, how your hair moves and styles. It heats up, and this is the one that I'm going to use to get Some root lift toward the back.. Now, as you know, I also need a brush that offers some smoothing and I went with the very same line. Again. This is GSQ by GLAMSQUAD Ceramic Dual Bristle Brush Smooth Operator., Smooth and shine. Mixed bristles distribute oil from your roots. Adding shine for a smooth, no frizz, finish. Wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am., So between these two I'm going to get lift and I'm going to get smoothness and I'm going to do it with a brand new hairdryer.. Yes, I had to purchase one from the drug store as well., So I can't use my Elchim that I love. I did some research and I found this.. This is by Conair Infiniti Pro professional AC motor reduces drying time boosts volume, dries hair fast, with three times longer: life ceramic technology for quick and gentle drying and ionic technology for shiny-looking, hair and less frizz 1875 watts.. Those are my tools of choice and I'm going to get in there. Blow. Dryer looks like so., We color-coordinated. Seriously unintentional and it's got three different heat settings and it has a cool shot as well.. Let'S get to it.. By the way, you kind of get a blowout tutorial at the same time, right Short, hair lots of texture.. I just move it from side to side to get some lift. ♪, [, music, ] ♪, All right. Now, I'm going to go in with that round. Brush and I want some lift at the crown, so that's where I'm going to focus right, now., ♪, [, music, ] ♪. Now for the part where I need to smooth things, out., I'm switching brushes and I'm going on the top part of my head. ♪ [. Music ] ♪ Okay., I got to say I feel like I got some pretty good volume after using this ceramic brush.. It gave me that lift that I was looking for at the crown and this one really flattened and smoothed things out, which is how I like. Now comes setting. Set it and forget it., And how are we going to do that? Well, I found a pomade that I think…. I'Ve never tried it before. It's by Garnier, Fructis Style, Pure Clean, Finishing Paste, extra strong, hold 3., It's a good moderate hold, but it's really used to kind of piece out the hair.. If you've got hair. That has a lot of layers like mine and it's kind of choppy, and you want to get those individual layers out. Something like this will be good to use.. So I'm going to just experiment with a little bit kind of warm it between the palm of my hands and lift and kind of go for it and see what I get. Oh and it adds a good deal amount of shine. Too., That's nice.! Now I just take it and kind of scrunch, and you know twist some hairs together, pull them through., So maybe go back on that side. Grab a hold of the bottom ones in the back. Piece. Those out. Check the back. Turn around. So you can see. I'm going to finish things off with a hair spray that has great reviews. This one's by L'Oreal., It's Elnett, Satin Extra, Strong and it's for color-treated hair. Disappears at the stroke of a brush, which I absolutely love a brushable hairspray.. So you know if I can get… Whoop there, it is. If I can get a little bit of hold, and I know at the end of the day, all I need is a brush to get rid of it. Then I am super super happy with that., Okay. Hair looks good and looks healthy.. It'S got some shine to it. Smooth. No frizz. And I saved myself a lot of money.. What I did buy that I haven't used yet is something that I will use in a couple of days, because I don't like to wash my hair often and especially when it gets short that gets tricky, because the oil starts coming down the hair and there's not As much hair., This is Not Your Mother's Beach, Babe Texturizing, Dry, Shampoo in toasted coconut., I sprayed it and it smells so yummy.. But it's wonderful because it's a texturizer. As a day or two goes by and if there's too much product or too much oil accumulating you just spray it on the root. You shake it and you instantly have that lift again and you have that texture because it has absorbed the oil. And this product has gotten just incredible reviews and there are a myriad of different types. They've got volumizing texturizing, whatever your needs are.. So look into. Not Your Mother's product line., But this is great.. This did not cost much at all.. I will have the entire product list in the description portion of the video which will include the price. I bought all of these at my local drug store, hairdryer included.. I personally love my Elchim hairdryer., I'm going back to it, but the kids they needed a hairdryer or the boys did. They're, always coming in my bathroom stealing my dryer.. I have more budget-friendly videos coming your way. Like I said this is a series.. I am mindful of price point.. I think you can get the job done in the beauty department without having to spend a fortune. So we are highlighting those., Any ideas that you have for me. Send them my way. Leave them in the description portion, below., Subscribe… Where'd. My light go Where'd, my light go. I need my light. Subscribe to this channel. Please.. I'D love to have you a part of it. Subscribing, doesn't cost a thing.. It just means you get notified when I released a video which is every Thursday at 1:00.. I am always on social media.. Of course you can find me there between the videos that come out every Thursday, with your bold and fun and inexpensive hair, that nobody will know the difference. Go out, be bold and be blessed and I'll see you next week. Bye,

Jennifer Johansson: Dominique, I have been watching your videos for a few months now and I’ve got to tell you, I have learned so much. Your kindness and joy are infectious. I don’t normally take time to make comments or review anything, but I honestly felt I needed to tell you, thank you, thank you. You’re delightful.

Rara Avis: That haircolor just makes you glow. I know it's fun, changing things up...but this is definitely your signature look And my hair is at exactly the same length - minus the expert cut, which I will remedy soon. How lucky am I? I'll be able, to just follow all your styling tutorials 1:1

Mariolina Boccamazzo: Finally cosmetic industry for hair care is heading to environmental friendly ingredients! And thank you for having taken care of these essential aspects during your tutorial! A big hug from Italy

cwm53: I'm loving this budget-friendly series. It's so easy to get lured into buying the department store beauty products but there is so much great stuff at the drugstores and Target. The new color and cut are gorgeous. Have a great weekend!

tricia jacobs: Love the reviews!! Always looking for sulfate free hair products! Saving money is huge too!!

Eddie Kim: I love that her style is ever evolving especially her hairstyle. It would be interesting to see a compilation of her hairstyles through the years and what she thought the pros and cons of some of the different styles. I am ready for a change now that I'm fully vaccinated and Dominique inspires to try something new.

LoveABun: Great video! And thank you from the animals, including my bunny, for touting the benefits of cruelty free products! It’s just not necessary to cause animals to suffer and die for our—let’s face it—vanity.

Kathryn Walls: Hi Dominique! Your tutorials have helped me in so many ways. Thank you! I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis and would love to hear of traditional and holistic ways to treat this. I’m guessing you have a doctor friend that could educate us. ‍⚕️

Faith and The Road Less Travelled: This woman is amazing! And thank you, Dominique for all you do. So instructive and concise...solid suggestions and such a fab personality. Wow!

All Squared Up: A request, please! Budget friendly skin care routine (morning and evening) for maturing skin! The Ordinary line looks promising but so many choices.

Mary Brazil: Thank you for the recommendation! I have seen that brand of shampoo and was curious about it . I also noticed how you really get in there with your hair when styling it. There's a certain amount of manhandling to be done to get the hair to do what you want. I think many of us are afraid to touch our hair after styling and not use enough of a product, like the pomade, to get the desired results.

Danica Medina: Totally love your new lengths!! And the color, I’m obsessed! I’m buying all these products ! Thank you Dominique

Renee Waltman: Hello Dominique. I have been watching your YouTube channel for a few months. I really enjoy all your tips ad tricks. I love your enthusiasm, energy and sincerity. Thank you.

You ask for suggestions which I appreciate. Now into my 60s and thinking about micro blading my brows. Being on a limited budget and want to make a good choice. I keep a more natural look and spend a lot of time outside In a tropical climate and often sweat my eyebrows off. Do you have any tips or tricks in proceeding forward in this direction? I would look at recommendations online before choosing a technician to do this. Thank you for all that you share, and keeping your video presentations so elevated!!Katie K

gym princess: Love the cut!...You are great at choosing make-up and wardrobe colors to compliment your varied haircolors. I enjoy wearing wigs once in awhile. I can be any color and style, but the need to change clothes and make-up to coordinate is truly a learned art. I enjoy your videos!!

Libby Miller: Oh my goodness, how GREAT was this!! So many wonderful products out there that I have not used! What a fun series this is! I would love to see one on face cleansers and moisturizers, that are targeted for older women (DAMN I hate to say that...LOL, but, hey, it is what it is, right!) You do such a good job researching, I would be interested to see what products you end up trying! LOVE your channel!.... Finding you has been a highlight this past year! Boy, have we ALL needed each other!! Thanks again for a wonderful watch my friend!

Lysa Wright: So happy to have you as my favorite Influencer who loves and uses healthy products! I changed my lifestyle two years ago and cleaned out the toxic bucket that was once my body. Healthy Keto, intermittent fasting and exercise was the game changer. Organic, grass fed and free range foods and non-toxic body, hair, nail and skincare was the finishing touch! So glad to see we don’t need to forfeit our glamorous selves in the name of health and well being ! God bless you Dominique!

Jaycee: Im with you!!! My hair is such a disaster… so many products and damage has wrecked havoc on my blonde hair. Im taking summer off with my hair as you decided and have mentioned. I have short hair as you and i think keeping it healthy and easy to style will help me snap it back to into shape. Going to pick up some of your recommended products and blow dryer and start TODAY! Love you❤️

sroltgen1: We were told in cosmetology school that Pantene is full of wax and that’s why your hair feels so good at first. The wax builds up after each use it feels worse and worse. Hair goes flat. It will be interesting to see what you think

Melanie Whatley: Loved this & last weeks too! Can't wait for more of the budget friendly series.

Lindy Queeno: Thank you for the budget friendly beauty! So fun!!

Maria Povlock: Love the budget friendly videos!

Nancy Proco: I struggle with the dreaded frizz too, so I’m going to try the Frizz Ease product you used. I bought a boars hair brush after seeing it on one of your videos and it’s made a huge difference! Love your videos Dominique! Thanks for everything you do for us

Leslie Adams: I think it's odd that people who colour their hair worry about "chemicals" in their hair care products. Chemicals are not inherently bad, but colors have ingredients that are known to cause irritation.

Emma Howard: Love the cut, so cute & sophisticated at the same time! I am catching up on some of your older videos. I love the WOW Dreamcoat for your hair. I have thick curly hair which I wear straight and on the shorter side. This product actually smooths my hair & helps with the humidity & frizz. I am going to try some of the products in today’s video, needing a new brush. I am interested in the straight fixation & the dry shampoo. I always learn new things from you & am so appreciative of the help

Melanie La Pan: I've been growing my hair out but you're making me think I need to cut my hair! Your hair looks absolutely fabulous! Thanks for showing us all the products today!

Estella G: I love your videos Dominique, especially the hair tutorials. I've seen you at the hairdresser once - would you please consider filming and posting more of your actual haircuts? Thanks!

Encouragement Club: Love and appreciate you, Dominique! Sorry I haven’t commented in a long while. What are your thoughts on leaving gray hairs alone? Hubby doesn’t care for the salt/pepper look, but I don’t want to deal with the maintenance of coloring it. Thanks, Bo

Carla Keys: I love your hair short! Could you possibly do a tutorial on your thought process on how you match your makeup with your outfit? I think women get into a rut, me included, by using the same colours regardless on what we wear because we don't have the knowledge or confidence to try difference colours. You seem to get it right every time!

DORIS CHARDON: Beautiful!!!!! Love these videos!! Great products of good quality and reasonable prices. Love Loreal, Milani. Thank you Dominique!!

Antonia Rebelo: Thank you Dominique! I am really enjoying this series and learning so much from you! Enjoy your day :)

Debbie Huizar: Loving these value cost videos! Thank you

Carol Ann: Love your channel. Please could you do a new video all about how to pick yourself up when you've let yourself go during menopause. Deciding on a new hairstyle, improving your overall look, improving your makeup, how to cope when you look in the mirror and don't recognise what you've become, getting health back, getting your vivaciousness back, etc. Thank you so much x

Kathryn Gehrke: I use Alberto VO 5. I remember that my grandmother used it. It smoothes and de frizzes, takes only about 1/2 pea size. I bought 2 tubes from Amazon, many years ago and recently started on the second tube. It isn't easy to find but easy to love! Blue shade is great for blonde and grey

Lori Robinson: Perfect timing! Thank you for doing the research for me. My conair blow dryer is soo old ( but still working) that it has to be turned off and on by putting in and pulling out by the wall!!!

Julie K: Thank you for doing this and you’re absolutely gorgeous! Love your videos!

Shari Schmidt: Yep me too! I have gotten a short haircut for the same reasons you gave,it just gives me so much of a carefree lifestyle! Sort of like decluttering your house and minimalizing it's just such a good feeling

M Bannister: Drugstore body products? Workout clothes and how u stay in shape? Thank you for all u do. Working Mom, wife, You Tube, and staying upbeat.

Stacy L: So loving the budget friendly series! and you look amazing!

Christine .K: Definetly interested in that shampoo. Actually in almost everything. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!! Need to save money and I definitely needed a few products including a new brush!!

Karen Artis: Love your hairstyle and color. You did a blow-out/grow-out in August of last year that I watched repeatedly. I showed it to my stylist who transformed my COVID-shag-pixie to the short bob in your August video. I love it and would never have thought of it if it wasn’t for your tutorial. I’ll be 63 this year and most people guess I’m in my late 40’s. There’s a reason why hairstyles are one of the most significant changes in a makeover! Thank you for your inspiration!

Anne Fisher: I love that your hair is back to how it used to be. I just love this color and length on you.

Sue: Love your short, sassy hair for Summer. I have the ConAir 1875 dryer and it works great on my thick, medium length hair

Kim Lovinagoodfind: I'm loving this series, Dominique!! Maybe you can include the drugstore pamper, skin care and sun protection that is more natural. I know how dedicated you are to your skin care routine. Just for those of us who are almost there but could also appreciate the drugstore pamper and skin protection. Aloe really love the hair!! You're stunning as always. Thank you for your hard work.

Cindy Ann: Thank you Dominique for doing all the homework for us!!

Carol Wiebe: That Pantene line is wonderful! I bought the mask too, in the moisturizing line which is in the pink packaging. Beautiful and smells like

The Summerland: thank you sincerely for being cruelty-free minded, you're as lovely inside as outside

Chrissy Mayner: I always love how you are so relatable and down to earth while also being on a slightly higher platform that not all of us are.. work, social ect... Its a true example that anything can be achieved. Xxxooo

Allie K: You look adorable as usual! I love the beach babe… I use it the same day I shampoo and I swear it helps me go a little longer without having to use it again in between washes! Thanks for the tips

Judy Fisher: Thanks for all your time and work checking these products out for us !

DeeMcD: Loving this series - this teacher's on a budget!

Lori Pohlman: I was so hoping for a hair-related video today! And how fun to focus on easily accessible and affordable drug store products. Thank you. How do you describe this hair cut to a stylist?

Angel Marie-line Chislett: Thanks for the great product tips. Have just placed an order for the brush and hairspray. Love the fact that the hairspray can be brushed out

Gr8shpr: She is so cool! I’m just feeling like a whole new person today because I used Dominique’s blowout techniques yesterday (step by step) for loose beach-type hair! Since becoming the age I am, I have really been at loose ends! New climate has wreaked havoc on my hair and I’m finding now it is VERY curly. Did not know what to do with it. Until now. In my 60’s, each day brings something unexpected with changes in my skin and hair.

JUDY M Hall: That was a great video, and truly it looked very professional. It's good to change up products and a great bargain is just a bonus!

Leann Smith: This is my absolute favorite haircut and color on you!!! You look so beautiful and put together.
