How To Fix Damaged Hair - Treatment Vs Conditioner - Hair Buddha Tip

Many people ask me what is the difference between a conditioner and a treatment. One of the most critical parts of a healthy hair regimen are treatments and conditioners. They help improve and maintain the moisture-protein balance of our hair. A healthy balance helps improve elasticity, which, in turn, helps reduce breakage because the hair is more flexible rather than brittle.

There are two main types of treatments to choose between: protein and moisturizing. Both serve a purpose, but what is that purpose?

Hey hello and welcome to a new video: this is not a hair fell completion but another tip from the head Buddha. It'S not really a tip. It'S an explanation of the difference between conditioner and a treatment. In a previous video. I explained that she needed a very strong hair treatment and many people ask me what is a very strong hair treatment and I will explain to you what is the difference between a conditioner and a treatment so before we start with this video? Can I please ask you to give a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel to get more hair tips and to see more hair fail? Compilations, not just to laugh. You can laugh, of course, but also learn from their mistakes. So if other people make mistakes, you can learn from it so subscribe to my channel and oh, you can also follow me on Instagram. So this is the link and follow me on instagram is not just hair. Fails that I show, but just random pictures of myself make it my wife so my life before I explain to you what a hair treatment does or a conditioner does. I have to give you more information about hair. Your hair is completely surrounded by layers and these layers has to be. If they are not, you don't have shiny hair. So that means if the layers around your hair are completely open, they will absorb the light and you don't have any shine in your head. So you need a conditioner to flatten these layers and it has a reflection of the light, because your hair isn't giving any shine from itself. You don't have shiny hair from itself, because if you put out the lights, then your hair will light up. So that's not happening. Shiny hair is a reflection of the light, but if delay is around your head are completely open, we don't have any shine, and that is where a conditioning comes in. So a conditioner goes around your hair and putting all these layers together, and it has a perfect reflection of the light. So conditioner is not going inside your hair just around your hair, so it protects your hair from the hair, dryer, flattening iron, the weather conditions swimming. You name it. You need a condition. Every time you wash your hair, you need the conditioner. Yes, even if you have fine hair, every hair, especially fine head, needs treatment, but the right treatment. So if you buy the wrong treatment, you will not be happy with it. So a conditioner is going around your hair flap your layers and you have to perfect reflection of the light if your hair is damaged from coloring, firming, straightening and, of course, do not forget bleaching. I see horrible things on YouTube about people bleaching their hair, one bleach. It will damage your hair because bleach is taking all of the moisture all of the proteins out of your hair. It'S melting, the pigments, so it's really damaging your hair. Then you will need more intense hair treatments and what is it intense, hair treatment? That'S, for example, a mask. That'S one thing: you can explain this simple word for treatment, but you have many treatments to put in your hair, but a treatment is going inside your hair and it will restore bridges, it will restore proteins, it will restore the moisture and then you need, after the Treatment, you put a conditioner, because if you building up all the stones in your hair with the treatment and the treatments going out, then you have to flow the layest with a conditioner. First of all, you wash your hair and then you towel dry, your hair, because if it's not towel dry, the treatment cannot go inside your hair. If it's completely wet the treatment cannot go inside and it does nothing. It'S not good for your money and it's not good for your product and it's not good for your hair. So towel dry, it very dry. The dry of your hair, the more intense the treatment, can work so like five minutes ten minutes and then rinse it off a hair treatment is not needed every wash. So a hair treatment stays for a few washes inside your hair, for example, four or five washes and then again you have to put the treatment on your hair a conditioner. Every time you wash your hair, the conditioner is gone, so you need to put a conditioner every time on your hair, but I explained to you: if you buy the wrong treatment or the wrong conditioner, then you will not be happy with it, and many people say To me, I have fine hair, I have greasy hair, so I don't use any treatment or any conditioner. So that's wrong. First of all, if you have greasy hair, you need to put conditioner or treatment on your hair. Greasy hair is created on the scalp. You have to put a treatment or condition on the length and tips, so don't touch your skull if you go in the in the shower and you put a conditioner or a treatment on your hands and you do it like this wrong, not good, because all the Product goes in your scalp and not on your lengths and tips. So you need to put the conditioner and the treatment on the length and tips. You don't go with it with the product on your scalp, so you don't get see a the same thing with fine hair again buy the right products. You have two different types of conditioner and especially treatments. So you have treatments with moisture and have treatments with proteins. So if you have fine hair, don't use a treatment with moisture inside that will flatten your hair. You have to use a treatment with proteins that will make your hair stronger. So if you bleach your hair or turn your hair or you have curly hair, you meet moisture. But if you damage your hair very strongly, you need to build it up again and then you need proteins. A treatment with proteins will not make your hair feel soft. That'S the most common mistake, people think so they put treatment on their hair and they say my hair isn't feel soft. It doesn't have to feel soft. It'S protein. It will build up from the inside treatment or conditioner with moisture will make your hair soft, but that's only has to you used by people with medium, thick, hair or very, very curly hair. So then you can use a moisture treatment, so people with fine hair use more protein treatments, people with very dry hair, curly, hair, thick hair. You use more moisture. If you don't know what treatments that you can buy, go to your local hairstylist and they will look at your hair and they will give the best advice by looking at your hair feeling it. And then they will give you the right product. And then you will be happy with the product. If you go to the supermarket and you don't happen, you have no idea what to buy. You can buy the wrong product and you cannot be happy with it if the treatment is costing only five dollars or for five euros and you're not happy. It'S also five euros or five dollars that you throw away so go to your local store. There are expensive products, there are less expensive products, really a fan of vegan and natural products, because these natural ingredients stay longer in your hair, because your hair can put chemical ingredients outside your hair that it's not mine. I don't need it. There are natural products, natural ingredients, that your hair recognize and it stays longer in your hair. So if you have a possibility to buy a product with natural ingredients, that will be better, so I'm hoping I gave all my tips. I think I gave all my tips about conditioner and treatments if it's not clear, you have any questions about the treatment or conditioner put it here in the reactions down below, and I will answer your question if you have other questions about any product or any hair Problem also put it down here in the comments and maybe I'll make a new video about your problem, so I'll see what I can do with it. Three Cats: Hair Buddha, I LOVE your detailed explanations of what happened and how to prevent a fail. You have answered so many questions I’ve had for years. Thank you! You recommended Blond Me for highlights instead of True Blue. Great to know. I have fine hair and would so appreciate knowing what mask or treatment to get. There are ton of products and would like to know the best one to get. I color my hair and have professional highlights done. I think your advice and comments are invaluable. It important to me to hear what you have to say, please, keep talking! I have learned more from you than anyone else - you’re awesome! Keep the great advice coming!

Jane Smith: I never knew I was supposed to put conditioner on after a moisture treatment but it makes sense. I'm so glad you mentioned that. I always learn from you, HB.

Nikole Almeida: Adorei! Obrigada por compartilhar seu conhecimento com a gente! Eu sempre achei estranho, o meu cabelo ficar rígido com o tratamento com proteínas, agora eu entendi o porquê!

memomorph: I’m an olaplex devotee... My mom had been coloring her hair red for years but when she retired from work, she wanted to let it go white. We grew it out, bleached it twice, cut it, and did an olaplex treatment. The red didnt lift completely, but it was really satisfying

Kelly: Your wardrobe is amazing! How can one man have so much style when others have none?

Heidi Ullrich: This is timely! I was looking up DIY hair masks and the best way to moisturize my hair .

Losos: Actual great advice, thank you so much for this video!

Mizz Rose: I understand your video but which products do u recommend us to use for conditioner treatment and Protein treatment ?

Sarah Muñoz: I found this video in perfect timing for me!! I was looking how to repair my hair. Thank you, i am hoping i can repair my hair after having dyeing it many times!!

Deb Rose: I've been using prose. It's actually been working great for me. I have fine but thick hair. And I dye it once a month regularly. I'm getting breakage from the concoction I made last time with black dye in it

Forever Geralyn: Thank you for this. Excited to start treating my hair correctly with your expertise.

Maria V.: Wat een bom van goede informatie! Vond je al top bij Jani .. en nu net ontdekt als Mr hair buddha met nuttige (en grappige) haartutorials! Dankjewel!

Hana Behl-Lecter: I used to rinse out my conditioner too well because I have super long hair and didn't want it getting greasy too quickly. Without noticing my hair started to get really dry and break/fall out. I don't use any heat or anything else damaging. Conditioner is important, yo.

Molly Morris: I bleached my hair a couple of months ago and it is not feeling good. Very difficult to brush out after shower unless I use a TON of conditioner & leave it on for like 10 minutes. The other day I used a protein treatment thinking it would help repair the damage but my hair came out even worse, with lots of breakage when I tried to brush through it. The next night I used a moisturizing treatment to try to combat the effects of the previous protein treatment and it felt a lot better after the shower (still not great, though). Should I only ever use moisturizing conditioner/treatment and never protein? I thought protein repaired damage/built the cuticle back up but from your video (and my experience), it does not seem that that is the correct thing for bleached hair? Seems counterintuitive. But I'll just continue to use moisturizers for now b/c that's what allows me to brush through it and that's how I gauge the health of my hair, haha.

rebecca rankin: You're a fountain of hair knowledge! Is there a specific brand of hair treatments, conditioner, shampoo etc...that you swear by? Top 3 favorite picks?

Marta Fernandes: Wow!!! This was so useful! Thank you for the great explanation.

ᒪ ᗩ ᑌ ᖇ ᗩ⃤ 🦋: Excellent explanation! Thank you ❤

Seni Ri: I have thin curly hair. Do I need a treatment with moisture or a treatment with protein?

Mrs. Jack Pack: Thank you I realize that I do many things wrong

sera ann: How do you feel about leaving cold pressed extra virgin olive oil in the hair..is that a sufficient natural treatment to prep the hair multiple times before coloring/lightening. What do you reccomend for natural treatment?

Jbenno: I would love to see some Hair Buddha products in the future.....I would definitely buy!!

Black Rainbow: Hiya! Great video, thanks for the tips. These are always greatly appreciated .

Robin Plastic: What happens to your hair if you put black castor oil in it? I heard it helps with growth, but does it really help with that? It’s so difficult to use. Oil gets everywhere. It’s a mess and a trial to use. Do the benefits outweigh the downsides of using it?

Andrea: So you're telling me I've been washing my hair wrong the whole time? I always did conditioner and then the mask

Daniela Ene: Your advices are good... Thanks for IT, have a good Day and stay healthy!

Trina Gallagher: Thank you Hair Buddha! I REALLY needed this!

puggirl415 puggirl: I love your videos! As I listen and try to comprehend what you are saying I am confused. I have fine hair so you said protein not moisture. I have thick and curly/wavy hair so you say I need moisture. I haven’t used heat or color on my hair for 3 years. So what to choose? I think my hair is naturally high porosity and loses moisture between shampoos (wash every 4/5 days) so I use moisturizing products with the occasional protein treatment. Moisturizing conditioners can leave my hair too soft but it seems to go away after one day and my hair looks shiny and normal and nice curls. I keep doing this because hair is often a compromise. I think there is no easy solution for many people. Often you have to choose between not so great and a little bit better. I didn’t choose to have fine, thick sort of curly high, porosity hair. This is a type that means everything affects it: weather, styling, moisture, protein. Sometimes good sometimes bad. No easy solution. Just accept it and work with it on a daily basis. If you have this type of hair just joyfully accept the good hair days and be extra aware of what your hair needs on bad ones.

Jennifer Swenyar Gallagher: What would work best for fine curly hair?

Alexandra Romero: What are the best way to determine if you have dry or damaged hair?

Albana Misja: Thanx for making it so simple to understand. Love it

mfsaintcyr: After treatments , do you recommend a conditionner that you rince out or a leave on conditionner?

Yvette B: Everytime I get a haircut it takes like 3 weeks for my hair to split, how do I prevent my hair from splitting?

Sarah Bernath: I thought my waist length hair was 2b but after 6-12 times using a keratin conditioner I lost what little waves I had and it is 2a now. Is this normal? Also, I’ve used moisturizing shampoo and conditioner all my life on my fine hair should be using protein or keratin instead? What is the difference between the two? Would love a video explaining it. Keep up the good work of clear information.

LittleImpaler: Hair Buddha has a name. A lot Asians in Asia don't use a conditioner. They have it, but a lot people don't use it. When I went to the Philippines to visit my mother's family. I had to ask hairdresser if they had conditioner. Because they don't know how to treat Caucasian fine hair. True story.

angelika gron: Hi I love your channel and your personality . Please could you answer my questions from the professional point of view . Is semi permanent hair dye better for your hair then permanent ? I have been told that semi , no ammonia hair dye would make your hair fall out more in time. I would be grateful for your answer.

ona ona: Thank you so,so much. Your video was very helpful ! ☺

Kel ly: Is it ok to allow a conditioner or mask dry on your hair? Does added time with the conditioner or mask help or is there only so much your hair can absorb. Can morrocan oil, argon oil or coconut oil be used to moisturize or treat dry or damaged hair? Last question: Do you think Salley's stores should be illegal?

Linda Liriel: I have fine 2c(wavy-curly) hair. My hair hates protein! If I do a protein treatment my hair just starts snapping and breaking, while if I avoid protein entirely and only use moisture, my hair curls a lot more and doesn't break nearly as much...But it's very very fine

lyssa fleming: I have natural fine platinum blonde with very light honey blond under tones. My hair also is kinky wavy. It grows very slow. I have done a lot of lightning and bright colors over the years. It is of course dry, and it is always brittle no matter if I color it or not. I'm about to go a copper blond with three different shades ranging from light honey blond to a medium copper blond. I would love to hear what you would suggest for me to do. The treatment of needed before I color to the process of the coloring, and of course what you think I should treat it with after the color. ( You may ask why I color to begin with. I have never liked how washed out I look with both super light hair and translucent pale skin. Copper is a very natural color on me as I was born with copper hair that fell out and grew back as almost white when I was a toddler. ) Please if you can let me in on your knowledge and opinion ! Heck I might even do a video for you to do reaction to . Lol

Nilda Faith: Love it Thanks

Frizzy KiKi: How do I soften my fine hair after the protein has made it feel dry? Does this mean my fine hair will never be soft

whatddaheck: Please can you let me know if there's anything I can do if I have heat damage from using excessive heat? My curls have lost their form after a blow dryer session (without heat protection) and I read on blogs that once heat damage has happened, the hair can never return to its normal state. Is this true? Please can you tell me more? Thank you Hair Buddha for this great video!

andrea lynn: I have fine curly hair and I'm using a moisturizing conditioner but my hair is so dry still. I leave conditoner in my hair but it still doesn't help. I was using devacurl so my hair and scalp are not in great condition anymore. I'm currently using shea moisture but I guess I need a different product.

Robbert Nyhan: I'm a hair stylist as well, and I used BlondMe in school, before it got the fiberplex added, but if I buy it now with the fiberplex, can I still put and use OlaPlex in it just for extra safety? Or would it possibly interact with fiberplex and cause it not to work?

June Resendes: Hey question for you what is the best products to grow hair long ??

Ajin Azlan: hello, I have thick hair and damaged it with bleach, it looks completely fried now, Olaplex no3 doesnt really work for me at all. Been trying Keratin mask for now and it feels quite good but it doesnt look as good as it should be. Any suggestions about that?

Yasmeen Durrani: I never wash my hair at home i go once a week for wash an blow dry and olaplex treatment once a month as I find salon shampoos and conditioner are so much better and I could go more than a week between washes and it will still be soft an shiny like it's just washed so I defo agree about treatments there a must on processed or damaged hair luvin your channel cant wait for more video's

Maya The Bee: What about hair oils ? Some are named "liquid cristals", now they're called "oils" like macadamia oils, argan oils - is it the same thing? Are these silicone based and when do you put them in your hair : before or after flat ironing ? :)

csorikebruno: It was very useful because I wasn't a big fan of conditioner. May I have a question? I always use herbal shampoo but hairdresser says that it's not good if I dye my hair. But I would like to keep using it. Is there any solution to keep my hair colour for a longer period? I just begun to use an Italian brand, not a drugstore product and as I've noticed after 2 weeks it's still lasting on my hair.

Anna Tarassova: Kan je misschien een goeie product aanraden met proteine?
