Hey guys welcome back to going green. Are you wondering if prose hair care products are as good as they hype them up to be? I know for me. I had all these advertisements on instagram and facebook for pros and how great it was. So i just had to take a look, and i decided to treat myself to some pros in this video. I'M gon na be giving you my personal opinion and my honest review on four hair care products i purchased from pros. I'M also gon na be letting you know whether or not i'm gon na continue purchasing from pros. As many of you might know, prose creates custom formulas for your personal hair care needs. They have all types of products from shampoo and conditioner to curl cream and dry. Shampoo, they don't have hair spray or gel, which are two products that i've been looking for, but i can't find anything, that's all natural from a sustainable company. So if you have any recommendations for me, i'd love to hear from you and leave them in the comments below i purchased a shampoo, a conditioner, a curl cream and a leave-in conditioner. I spent about a hundred dollars on all four products at 25. Each they do have free shipping with 100 satisfaction guaranteed, which is awesome. Most of their products are 25, but they do have a few products that are 38 and 48 before i get into the reviews. First, let's talk about how they customize their orders. Pros put you through a 25 question survey, quiz type of thing that asks you all sorts of questions like the type of hair. You have how old you are, what are your hair goals and even the zip code to see if you have softer hard water and to know about the climate that affects your hair? I love this process because it is very customized to your hair needs and you can even make your products gluten-free and vegan. This is also really important because they don't waste as much up to 40 percent of mass-produced beauty and personal care products go unsold and end up in landfills, which not only generates waste but contributes needlessly to co2 emissions because they are purposeful about their production. There is no overproduction, let's get into the review. First, i'm going to review the shampoo and the conditioner. I do love the way my hair feels after i wash it, and i can't tell a difference from when i used to wash my hair with castile soap and a vinegar rinse. It'S not a huge difference, but it is there. My hair still seems to shed as much as usual still gets kind of frizzy at the ends, and it's not any more curly or thick. These were some of the goals that i had in the quiz, and these were some things that i was hoping to change. This could also be for a few reasons for one. I don't wash my hair that much maybe one to two times per week and my hair seems to get more greasy. I also did opt out of the ingredient silicone on the quiz thing and after i said that it did have another page. That said, are you sure you want to opt out of silicone and they did point out in the quiz that silicone helps with hair detangling, softness and smoothness? So i did some research and the silicone that they use is peg7 dimithicone and has an ewg score of one to three. There also isn't much research done on this ingredient, so for me, i'd rather just not have the silicone. I got the elixir scent at first. I didn't like the smell, but i do have to say it is growing on me online. It said it would smell floral and beachy and like jasmine vanilla - and i thought that i would really like that. But to me i didn't get that at all. Maybe my nose is off, but i don't know didn't really smell like vanilla or the beach to me and again this scent might work for somebody else, but for me, if i ever reorder, i will definitely get a different scent when i'm washing my hair, i have To use about four pumps of the shampoo and two to three for the conditioner, so i'll probably be running out of the shampoo before the conditioner, the shampoo lathers. Well, it doesn't get super crazy, steady. So if you're used to those terrible products like pantene and swab and tresemme do not expect that i've been using natural products like castile soap for quite some time now, so i think it has a pretty good lathering comparison. The conditioner makes my hair smooth and easy to run a comb through, and this also goes for the leave-in conditioner, but the leave-in conditioner does leave my hair a little bit more greasy than i'd like so i like to use the leave-in conditioner more towards when my Hair is dirty instead of right after i wash my hair and when you don't wash your hair a lot and your hair tends to get greasy more quickly. This isn't something that you want so for the curl cream. I was actually very disappointed with this one um. I remember in high school i used to scrunch my hair and it had this really pretty beach wavy effect, and that doesn't happen at all. When i use this product, as you can see, my hair is still pretty straight after i use it and it does leave my hair kind of greasy and again, if you don't wash your hair a lot and your hair tends to get greasy more quickly. This isn't something that you want now. One thing that really upsets me is: they do come in plastic bottles, with a plastic pump and maybe a plastic cap you can, when you reorder, you can make sure not to get a plastic pump and only get an aluminum top, so that does help reduce the Waste, the plastic bottles are recyclable with a number one, but again recycling is not. The solution. Pros does have a goal by the end of 2020 to not introduce virgin plastics into their production process. On a positive note, the packaging is plastic, free, even the tape and the direction cards are paper. They are also always looking to repurpose production material. They have donated post industrial materials like pallets and boxes to make adventure playgrounds in brooklyn new york. One thing that i do want to mention is: when you receive your pros products: the pump is underneath the product and it's very hard to find in the packaging. I actually almost threw it away because i didn't realize it was there so make sure you do not throw away this plastic top. Is there you just have to find it some other positives about the company's morals and values. Are they are 100 cruelty free and even though they require detailed information on the sourcing and the production of their ingredients, some suppliers aren't as transparent as they'd like them to be, and this is a huge issue for them, so they have made a pledge to be Even tougher on their suppliers to hold them accountable. Lastly, they never use ingredients that raise proven health, ethical or environmental concerns, which is super important to me. So to answer the question whether or not i'm going to be repurchasing from pros until pros finds a solution to the plastic bottle, i will not be repurchasing and for me at least it is a little bit more on the pricey side and i'd rather go explore. Some more zero waste options. First, another thing that upsets me about probes is they say their ingredients are safe and they are much safer than other products out there. But a few of their ingredients have an ewg score of three four and five one being the best and the safest and ten being the worst. If you don't know much about harmful and toxic ingredients, watch the video that's right above and i'll also list a few things that can be helpful below now. This doesn't mean that i think they're a bad company. I do think they are great and i do think they have great morals and values, and i love to put my dollar into companies like this. But again, i really want to find something: that's zero waste, or at least somewhere, where they can repurpose the materials and the plastic that they're using tanya uses a shampoo bar and has had a great experience. She'S going to be doing a review, video on her hair care products and if it's already out it's right up here that pretty much wraps up this video again. This is my honest review from my personal experience: take it or leave it.
