Hey guys it's vivian, nelson and welcome back to another vlog, and today i will be showing you guys how i style my wavy 2a 2b hair using the curly girl method and before we begin, i just wanted to ask you guys a little favor. If you guys can go down and click subscribe to this channel it'll really help me a lot. I would really appreciate it if you guys can like and subscribe to this video and if you guys have any questions, suggestions or tips to make my routine better. Just simply comment down below just a little disclaimer. Before we begin with the video, i have been doing the curly girl method for about a year now ever since lockdown started so around march 2020, and it has taken me a lot of trial and error to figure out what works for my hair and what doesn't So, given that my hair is more on the wavy side, more than the curly side, so my like, i said my hair is 2a. 2B. If you don't know your curl pattern, you can find a lot of resources online on how to figure it out. So one of my biggest resources, when i was starting out was the facebook group curly girl, philippines, and i will be linking to them down below. And it's super helpful, especially if you live in the philippines, because they suggest a lot of brands that you can get locally and also they have like little units and chapters which make the information a lot more digestible. Because there is a ton of information online about the curly girl method and, of course, if you guys are familiar with it, you will know that this is actually based on the curly girl method by lorraine massey. I hope i got that name right so, like i said i have been doing the curly girl method for almost a year now and if you have a different curl pattern or a different hair texture or even if you have the same one as mine, what works For me might not necessarily work for you, so just keep that in mind. Um, like i said i had to do a lot of experimenting before i discovered stuff that really really worked for my hair, so yeah. I just want to put that out there and also just wanted to let you guys know that this is not a sponsored video, so everything i mentioned here all the products, all the techniques i have researched and purchased myself in my quest for the perfect curly hair Routine, so you guys can expect a very unbiased and authentic review of each of the products. Let'S go shower, so i like to wet my hair with lukewarm water and making sure it's very saturated. Then i take my shampoo in this case. It'S human nature and mandarin orange and i take my silicone hair brush and a wide tooth comb, and then i put a little shampoo on my scalp just to get rid of grease and dirt, and then i use my silicone hair brush to kind of help me Get in there and remove debris and the silicone hairbrush isn't that hard? So it's not very painful and i make sure to also get the underneath of my hair and keep using it. While i wash my shampoo off and then i take my conditioner and here, i have two options, but i'm gon na go with the human nature. This is actually one of my favorites. It'S peppermint. I just raked that through my hair and then i use a wide tooth comb to help me distribute it evenly and detangle. Also, i do get a lot of hair fall during this process. So if you get hair fall, that's totally normal and then here i am squishing to condition which is basically me washing off the conditioner, while also squeezing upwards, to kind of like form those little curls or waves. In my case - and i know a lot of people don't wash off their conditioner here, but i have wavy hair, so i wash it all off and then this step is optional and this is just a mixture of apple cider, vinegar, diluted in water, and i just Saturate my scalp with that, and it really is very effective in keeping dandruff away. So i try to do this once a week and then i just also kind of scrub it into my scalp to just make sure that my scalp is getting that and then i like to keep scrubbing as i'm washing it off. And it's very very important that you wash off all the apple cider vinegar because it can get irritating if left too long, and you don't want your hair smelling like apple cider, vinegar and then i take my deep conditioner. This is the kara plus brazilian keratin, deep conditioner, and i get this from the same store called curlaloo on shoppi, and i love this because it's so so affordable and it comes in a pack of six and my hair loves this as well, because it has a Lot of protein and my hair really needs that, since my hair is really fine and thin, i find that i don't have to use the entire sachet. I usually just use half of it and save the rest for my next wash day, and then i just use my wide tooth comb again to completely rake it in and make sure i have no tangles. And then i take my shower cap and put my hair in that. I highly recommend that you leave this on for a minimum of 30 minutes, because i noticed that my hair just looks amazing. If i do that, and to be honest, sometimes i even forget that i have a shower cap on so i leave it for much longer, which is amazing for my hair and then after my 30 minutes or longer is up. I go back to the bathroom and i take my dipper, my special wash dipper, so it's only for my hair and then you'll see that the curls are already forming, but i still have to wash off the deep conditioner off my hair since i have thin hair. I try not to leave too much product, otherwise my hair will fall flat, and here i am doing the dipper method, where i basically dip my whole head into the dipper and i kind of squish chicken dish to wash out the deep conditioner. And here i am washing my scalp gently while making sure not to disrupt the curl pattern. I already have and then just squishing, to condition to gently form those wavy patterns, and then i take my leave-in conditioner. This is the lao. What i'm not sure if i said that right, but i take my leave-in conditioner and i do the praying hands method and then i do the squish to condition. And then i take my gel and in this video i am using the bench fix gel in red, and i do the same thing as i did with my leave-in conditioner. As you can see, the curls are a lot more prominent now and then i take my microfiber towel this one. I love so so much. I used to just use t-shirts, so definitely do not use a regular towel for your hair and this one i just basically wrap it around like a normal towel, but what's different is that it has an enclosure at the back to really secure it, while it dries And then i just let it dry for about 10 to 15 minutes, hey guys! So now i have my ring light on because it is a little dark outside and now that my hair is damp not wet. I can use this suave firm control mousse. So now, let's remove the towel, as you can see, the curls have kind of held up pretty well, i'm gon na go ahead and put some of the curling mousse and you don't need a lot so usually like i start with that amount, and i just like Add more as i go, if i need it, i'm not sure there's something called a roping technique, i'm not sure if this is it, but i kind of just like run my hands gently through the curls and then scrunch and because we applied some gel earlier. It'S actually going to be a bit firm and you can already feel like the curls being held. So that's why i feel more comfortable doing the praying hands. That'S what it looks right now. It'S looking a little crazy. The next step is, i would say something that takes me a little bit of time. So sometimes i just skip it all together, but you might really benefit from having this step in your routine and that is using a diffuser. So if you guys have watched any like curly girl videos or have seen like blog posts, you probably have seen this. So it is basically just a blow dryer with a diffuser attachment on it and the one i'm using is from a brand called infinix. And this is actually just from lazada. I discovered this through the curly girl philippines group. This was very, very affordable. It was definitely under a thousand pesos, so like under 20 dollars, and i have had this for almost a year ever since i started the curly girl method and it has definitely held up quite well, although, like i said, i don't really diffuse my hair all the Time sometimes when i know i'm just gon na be at home for the next few days, i just let it air dry and that's okay as well, but just to show you guys, like the full on routine, i'm going to show you how to dry. My hair with a diffuser - and i will admit the curls - do look a lot better when you dry them with a diffuser. So 20 minutes later, hey guys. So now we are scrunching out the crunch and i can tell that my hair is actually a hundred percent dry by now. Okay. So it's a little dark out now, but tonight i'll be sleeping with this hair with my little sleeping cap, and i will show you guys what it looks like tomorrow, six hours later good morning, it is now day two and as promised, i will show you guys How my hair turned out, so this is actually how i slept with my hair in a high pineapple bun. They call it so. Basically, it's gathering all your hair on the top of your head like that and i'm using a satin scrunchie okay. So it's a little crazy right now, but don't be alarmed. I need to kind of just like scrunch it out first and kind of let it settle, and then i will show you how it is in just a few moments and that's how i do it. So that is it you guys, thank you so so much for watching this video and my little curly girl routine. If you guys enjoyed this video, please like and subscribe, it really means a lot to me. So, thank you so so much and i hope to see you guys in my next video bye. You
