This is my current wash routine! I cannot recommend it enough. Most day's I follow this up with a mousse + diffusing since it takes my hair 4+ hours to air dry :)

I recently discovered that my hair is actually wavy and here's my current wash routine. I wish i was sponsored by pros, but i'm not i've been using them for three years and my hair is so healthy. I don't do anything fancy here, but i do brush the conditioner out and sometimes i'll squish, to condition. I then move on to the bowl method, which helps to find the waves. I brush all my hair to the front and then apply my curl cream, which is also from pros sometimes i'll, also brush my hair out with the cream in it, too filling the bowl halfway up with cold water. I then start dunking, so dunking, my hair, all the way up to my scalp. I then use my hands to squish the hair up towards my scalp and squeeze out the water. This helps to find your waves or curls. So i dunk and squish a few more times and it helps distribute the curl cream evenly throughout the hair and here's the result with the mentally defined waves. I then grab a t-shirt to absorb some of the excess water, and then i pull up my hair and i do using a different t-shirt for this during this time. I'Ll, typically wash my face, do my makeup, etc and more time is not better here, going more than 15 minutes, just squashes out my weights. I then unwrap my hair and you can apply a gel enemies here. If you use them and just let it air dry or diffuse, i know this seems time consuming, but caring for my hair, like this, has been a really meditative form of self-care, so maybe give it a try.

Alesia: As a person with naturally straight hair, having curly or wavy hair seems like a lot of work. I respect all the time, money, and effort you put in your hair

kyliee c.: You literally have the hair everyone wants to achieve with curling irons or blow dryer’s so lucky

Sophie Marie: My FULL bowl method + diffusing routine is now posted Since this seems to be a point of confusion: products like this will NOT create waves or curls in someone's hair! Nor will scrunching. Straight hair will not respond to this. These are methods people of all texture types (waves, curls, coils) do to help define their texture. This is not something that *needs* to be done, but it helps reduce frizz, improve hair health, and increase definition for waves! Obviously my hair still dries wavy without this, just very puffy and frizzy, so I like to do a routine :) Products: Prose shampoo/conditioner/curl cream :) I recommend Not Your Mother's Curl Talk mousse or the John Frieda curl reviver mousse if you want a hold product! I use OUAI's hair oil to scrunch out the crunch :)

morrisahj: Having curly hair, I’ve found that putting a mixture of cream, oil and a bit of water into a spray bottle and distributing it throughout my hair saves a lot of time and helps with refreshing my curls from day to day

Sara Grace: Damn, girl! Your hair looks looks as if it was professionally styled with heat! My wet hair has a very similar wave pattern as your wet hairI’d love to see if I could attain this same result, but ngl, even if I didn’t have children and thus had the time for this… I’d never spend it on my hair regularly But keep on it! You look absolutely stunning

Mythic Apricity: “I know this seems time consuming-“ *Giggles in 4C*

lil Celebrity: I have wavy hair but I’ve never really known how to enhance it so I always end up brushing it and making my hair super frizzy. But now I’m going to try this. tysm

CMonet Sevans: I am glad to see everyone finding what works for them and embracing their natural beauty. (hair, face, body)

Cheeto Dust: Be careful with the bowl method, you can get moisture overload which leaves the hair too soft and mushy, moisture overload can be fixed with a protein product

Catherine Walsh: I have been doing this 50 years. I am 56 now .Great to see it has not been forgotten. Thanks Catherine in lreland

Dopamine Drought: I thought my hair was straight, but it always gets a wave if it air dries, it holds waves for days with any method I use (braiding, curling iron), and it gets soo frizzy. I think I'll try this the next time I wash it.

Erin Delaney: For years I found my curls and the last two have finally embraced them. It's been very cathartic to see how much healthier it's gotten from the right care

correct: THANK YOU SO MUCH! My hair type is 2A and I just figured it out because my waves were almost invisible and I thought it was just slightly on the wavy side. They were so much more defined after this!!!

ana bresco: this looks so good on you!! my hair is also wavy/curly, so I'm DEFINITELY trying this out!

Smiley •ᴗ•: Thank you so much i thought i had frizzy straight hair, but it turns out i have wavy hair. I just discovered this by doing your method !

Ciera Wierenga: This is a tutorial I have been desperately needing. I have frizzy and wavy hair, but products always seem too heavy and weigh my waves down. I have a similar wave pattern to yours, but I can never keep my waves clumped. I’m going to try out these methods!

Sofia Garcês: I did a straightening treatment about one year ago because I couldn’t handle all the frizz and puffiness to the point I would have a breakdown while drying my hair and had to wash it the night before so it would calm down a little over the night so I didn’t look crazy when I left the house. Also, my hair is VERY thick. As if it wasn’t enough I live in a very humid place so it was really a nightmare for me. I got made fun of several times because my puffy hair made me look like “I got struck by lightning”. My mom has really straight hair so she never understood my struggles. I’m slowing regretting my decision of straightening it because I didn’t know that straight hair routine is not universal for every kind of hair, but I think it’s now slowly going back to its original form? I’m going to try this routine, wish me luck!

DrawingWithAbby!: For Simone that has natural curly hair, here are rules I have to follow: I have to put a braid in when I sleep or it will get WILD, I cant where hoodies that often cause that also makes my hair insane, and lastly I have to brush hair while in shower. My routine is: At night brush my hair with conditioner while in the shower, then while it’s still wet brush it again and braid it (French braid) for the night. I have to use many products in the process ;-; then I undo it :). This may all seem easy but it’s really not. My worst problems is behind my neck is where I get REALLY REALLY bad Matt’s. My mother calls it a “nest” because 1. it looks like one 2: it might as well be. There you have it. Got any straight hair queens, stick to curling irons trust me you don’t want curly hair. Bye!

tea: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS My hair is always been a struggle. When I was younger I had wavy hair but my mom had straight hair so she didn't know how to take care of it. Growing up I was told my hair didn't need special care or anything. Now I'm finally trying to take care of my hair. I stopped straightening it and I'm trying to care for my waves. If anyone has any tips on how to revive waves/slight curls plz let me know.

Champ Scrambles: Lol, I've long since forgiven her but my Mom made me think there was something "wrong" with my hair growing up because she couldn't get it to be straight like hers! I think it's so weird that it didn't occur to her my hair might not do the same things as hers? These videos have inspired me to start cultivating my waves again instead of aggressively brushing them out and wondering why I "can't do anything" with my hair. Thank you!

lilstxrzz: i have naturally wavy hair, and while it’s gorgeous sometimes, it’s also such a hassle to keep brushed and neat

Booperpot Pie: It is so refreshing to see (what we used to call) a fresh-faced female emphasizing her natural assets and beauty! Yes, I'm aware she referred to using cosmetics in this video. However, she clearly has learned to accentuate instead of alter her looks. It saddens me that so many women look like they just rolled off an assembly line these days. Unkempt center parted hair, overdone lips and so much face paint they could redo an entire house. Kudos to you, young lady! *This* is how it's done!

Shelby Gill: The difficult thing about looser curls is that, at least for me, you have to be fast from the moment you step out of the shower, as the weight of the water can cause your hair to dry straight. I have to style my hair everyday due to it flattening when my hair is pulled straight while being pressed down for a long duration (aka, sleeping on my pillow).

Qsm Ghyda: I love this method, i just found it out last week after months of trying different methods i noticed that my hair has the best curls when it's soaking wet so i tried this and it worked perfectly!

centrifuge destroyer: If this seems too much for you: conditioning more, doing the crunshes a couple times and air drying can already lead to visible results (at least for me)

A N: As someone with curly hair and have invested a lot of time and money on my routine.. I have never ever even once seen this bowl method I'm glad for you that you've found whats works for you.. your waves be looking real good ❤️

Angela P: I cleared off of keratin treatments 4 years ago and I must say trying to make my wavy hair look clean and elegant has honestly been draining... It aways looks frizzy, messy and just unkempt. It really only looks nice after I've washed it and styled it and it's completely air dried (4 hours). The next day it's a mess again. Does anyone feel this way too

Patricija Fijan: It literally looks like she got out of salon I wish my hair was like that

Angie: Wow great video! My whole family has wavy/curly hair and I'm the only one with bone straight hair. Lately my hair has been acting very strange lately. The ends of my hair are becoming wavy and other parts of my hair become slightly wavy. I don't really know what is really going on but this looks like something good to try to see if my hair is actually becoming wavy. Your hair looks really beautiful by the way!

Miss Moon and Life: I used to have stick straight hair as a kid, but as I’ve gotten older and moved to a new climate, my hair had gotten more wave to it and I haven’t been able to figure out how to care for it. My straight hair routine just isn’t doing anything for my waves and I want to learn how to care for my waves so they can look their best and be healthy. This is really helpful and gives me some ideas on what I should be doing!

Parvin: I love wavy hair. Can straight, curl , can do whatever you want. Straight is little hard to care. Whole life with same type, little boring.

KL: So pretty! I wish I had natural waves to play with (I have straight hair). You look beautiful! Hair care is definitely one of my favourite forms of self care ‍♀️❤️✨

Keira H: I need to start doing this because I also have naturally wavy hair and I would love for my hair to look like this!

Geo Z: If this is your results the time is worth it!! Gorgeous!!

Lupita Alonso: I've been doing stuff similar to this for a while now, but I just thought anyone could get it to be like that doing it the way I was. I had no clue I had wavy hair lol. So my question is, is the bowl method more of a nighttime routine or somn that is done every morning or somn done every once in a while? I usually take showers around nighttime so I wanted to see how I could fit this into my routine

kayley kolman: I know everyone wants those type 3 curls but I think 2a waves are soooo gorgeous

Emma-Leigh Campbell: I have naturally curly/wavy hair it doesn’t matter how I wash it or what I use in it it’s always curly/wavy and I have short hair rn so I usually just straighten it it’s a lot less work but yours looks absolutely beautiful when I leave mine naturally it looks funny

Kenny🐝: I have 3b/3c curly hair, but you have some great tips that I've tried that have helped my hair!

this_hurts: All these haters are just jealous of your hair girl don't mind them. You were the reason I realised my hair was actually wavy thanks so much

RuRu 86: I have naturally wavy hair. I also have a toddler. Here is my haircare routine: Wash it once a week for approximately 4 minutes. Done!

Haleigh gońzalez🇲🇽: Tysm! I really helped me my hair is a mix of curly and wavy and it worked like a charm! It also helped a lot with frizz thank you so much!♥️

Ellie :D: When people say they want naturally wavy hair THIS is what they mean!!

Unsolved mystery: As someone who has asian flat hair that litteraly looks so flat and dark, I envy your natural hair so much... I love that volume and styled looking waves even though it's completely natural... Youre hair is litteraly every girls dream. And actually that certain type of hair is what we asians refer to as princess hair, cause it looks so regal and beautiful. Just loving it...

Ashley Ryan: I have thick curly hair and our routine is different but i use prose and omg it has been the best thing ever. Nothing worked well with my hair until I started prose and my hair is so healthy now.

Sydney St. Clair: As someone with curly hair, you dont need to do this at all lol. You'll end up washing a lot of the curl cream out. This is wayyyy too much work for something you could accomplish with damp hair. I don't brush my hair after I'm out of the shower. Finger combing the product through is better for your hair and will cut down on breakage

Sapphic Solace: When my hair is not dealt with in any special way, its frizzy and poofy. When I try to do curl routines I get some decent curling but it still stays poofy, and all the strands try to act on their own. There's no winning with mine it seems. Does anyone have any ideas to try that might help it? Depending on which chart I look at, it seems to be somewhere between 2c and 3a

🌻The Meme Gang🌵: Hi! You're hair routine is PERFECT! ✨✨✨But I have a question, can I use a towel instead of T-shirt?

wall: Me who just let's my hair exist: "who takes that much time, work, and care to do something supposedly natural waves" Her: "I know this seems time consuming but caring for my hair like this is actually a way of self relief"

Strawberry girl: How long do the waves last or do you have to do them every day?

Colette Sutton: I have curly hair and I don't do anything like this. Ivwash it, apply curl cream and either leave it to dry naturally or, diffuse it if I'm going out. I add a bit of a set cream or a bit of wax when it's dry. Takes about 7 minutes in total. If I had to do all this I'd shave my head.

olivia sharma: do you recommend using a curl cream instead of a mousse? also what is the difference between the two? also how many times a week do you wash your hair? can i use a mousse/curl cream every week if i wash my hair once a week?

Erika Rhea: May I ask how do you refresh your hair? Your hair looks so beautiful!

Joyce Griffin: Wow...ok I have to say you're hair looks amazing....and well worth the time you spend...a definite must try....

ʕ⁎̯͡⁎ʔ༄: wow I thought in the first clip you had used heat on your hair turns you just naturally have that hair structure girl you’re so lucky

noor: i have naturally wavy hair, its wavy no matter what, whether i dont brush it or do, or if i font wash it or do

A M R A: Wow your hair looks so healthy

Smaugette: My waves look best on day 3, just a little dry oil on the ends. The oil from my scalp does the rest.

Natali Esquivel: If any guys have questions about why we ladies take forever taking la shower ,here is your answer

mtrmoon: Your hair looks AMAZING

goldenchild888: You are so beautiful and your hair is so thick and luscious!!! ❤️

Immy B: Looks stunning!

Lydia Picano: Your hair looks beautiful !

zoha zahid: Did you wash the shampoo and conditioner out before applying the curl cream?

creative name: is it just me or is wavy hair becoming trendy lmao (me, a girl with thick wavy hair struggling all my life to straighten it)

Wonu: When I was young, I had silky straight hair. Like, it was seriously so silky. But I realized that 2 years ago, my hair started getting hella frizzy and dry. The thing is, I never changed my hair products or routine. And whenever my hair is on the drying process, it looks kinda curly (even without scrunching it or whtvr) so idk, is it possible that my hair is actually curly all this time or maybe I just need to find the right hair products?

Anti-JeffreyMcCray Community: Me sitting here with 4c natural hair cracking up

Lex!e233: Okay I love everything you did in this video but one thing, DON'T BRUSH YOUR HAIR IN THE SHOWER!! Your hair is most fragile when wet so if you brush your hair you will tend to loose more hair than necessary. Try combing through your hair instead it is better for your hair. LOVE this video though i really enjoyed it and your hair looks awesome!!!

A. B.: Brush my hair forward like that causes the back to get all tangly and messed up. When I try to flip my hair back. It won’t dry properly. But so many people do it and I don’t know why it just doesn’t work for me.

Ash: I tried this today, but my hairs become too hard after drying with mousse. How’s your hair so soft and looks natural?

Jane Doe: I do the "bowl method" with rice water. I never knew it was a method for curly hair but I just winged the rice water method and it really works this way but I still don't get curls

kid: dam imagine having wavy hair and it not being frizzy, coarse and puffy, that could never be me

Lauren Daeger: do you use a wet brush when you’re brushing your hair out post wash?

*.𝙵𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚡 𝙰𝚞𝚝𝚞𝚖𝚗.*: My hair is like actually natural wavy, fluffy, and frizzy. I just wash and condition my hair as normal and let it dry in a towel a bit then let it air dry and it’s just wavy/curly

gabs1028: You can skip the bowl and just go from your already wet hair w/the brushed in product and scrunch

Amritapreet Singh: Your wavy hair is so beautiful

Coco: I recently realised my hair was curly - HOW DID YOU THINK THAT WAS STRAIGHT

Lauren Simon: I have wavy hair and all I use is shampoo and my hair looks and feels great

How to Survive Electronic Harassment: Your hair is amazing. I have like maybe 1/5 of your hair total on my head.

Brish Brish 🇧🇩: I have naturally wavy and very oily hair. My hair has a mind of its own. Somedays after washing it becomes curly and on other days it becomes straight. I just wash my hair with shampoo every other day and I love whatever my hair decides to look like each day

Lou SF: Dang! Pretty face, hair AND a fabulous figure! God really gave u everything!

malavika aravind: But do the waves stay when your brush/comb your hair? Don't they become straight again?

Hi: My hair looks like that all the time and i just half ass brush it in the morning and shampoo it normally lol

Kiki ALIZA Commentary: I am grateful for having mermaid hair because all I have to do is towel dry a bit, comb with wide tooth comb and allow to air dry….. no styling needed.

The Pawesome adVANturists: Your hair is gorgeous!

Rabina Shrestha: What can be used instead of curl cream?

Belle De Caucase: You don't have to sit on a floor. You can perform the hair wrap while standing.

K L: Hi girlies. Those who’ve done this bowl method with their curl cream what do you personally do after?

stvp68: Waves look great!

sui: I could only wish for my wavy hair to air dry as pretty as that mine just gets frizzy and matted unless i use some sort of heat

Ara: I needed this method thanks

Sky: I have loose curls, I try to make sure my hair is always brushed and braided unless I’m washing it or currently brushing it. I know how to make my curls look good but the tangles after are not worth it unless it’s for something like a photo shoot.

Isabella And Chuggs: I wish I could do all this for my hair my hair is naturally wavy it looks like your but I can’t do it my hair isn’t damaged and it is very healthy I just don’t have money to do it but your hair is gorgeous very beautiful

Mineral: THANK YOU (really) for saying wavy. Idk how many girls I see with a slight wave to their hair talking about "it's SO CURLY"

Sal Mon: I have straight hair and although your hair looks amazing girl nobody got time

Claireeeeeeeeeeeeevil: Omgggg I use that shampoo and conditioner! It makes your hair so soft!

Deyna Andujo: Do you always use the bowl method when you shower?

Felicia Akle: As someone that has curly hair I am just confused as to how she just found out she has naturally wavy hair. I’ve known my whole life. Is it different for wavy hair? ‍♀️

Candied_ Yamz: I wish I could do this with my wavy hair but it would wreck my scalp psoriasis

Jax 🎗: Me: I wanna do this! Also me: *Doesn’t have hair that touches neck*
