3c 4c hair coconut milk 4a

Hey guys, it's Layla, I'm back of another ayurvedic haircare video and this time we'll be using cassia, also known as neutral henna. You see it gives you all the benefits of henna ie, hair, restructure and shine, enhancing volumizing conditioner, antifungal, antibacterial properties and astringent properties. However, unlike hangout, there is no color deposit, so you're going to need about 1/2, a cup of cassia 1 teaspoon of amla powder 1 tablespoon of kombu powder and 1 tablespoon on a wreath or powder, followed by 1 tablespoon of ground powder. All these idyllic powders are included for their strengthening. They are terrifying and therefore the high-end properties. For my liquid, I would be using coconut cream, / milk, and this is something that I had saved previously in the freezer that I have defrosted. So these are completely optional, but I use some vegetable glycerin. I used some jojoba oil as well as an oil mix. I use the pill Scout oil because I couldn't find my own and I use this particular oil because it has a menthol and, as you guys know, I love peppermint in my hair. So, as you know, I am doing my protective styling challenge, so my hair looks crazy sometime and but it's all good and I'm just gon na put my hair into four sections and apply the Casilla treatment. Unlike henna, I don't need to leave it overnight or anything like that, because you don't need anything to develop. You use the product as soon as you make it and, as you saw, I just missed it my hair lightly, just to make it valuable before applying the Casilla treatment. Never putting back in these places went back to the father sitting in his right place. Now everything we want, we can get it. You just want to ensure that it is applied thoroughly. I focused predominantly on my roots because of all the astringent and antibacterial properties. I'Ve also included powders that help with clarifying and cleaning the scalp as well. If you're not already subscribed be sure to do so, if you're, finding this video helpful and, of course be sure to hit that notification bell so that you don't miss out in any of my videos so somewhere to me to me, run escape was once your time. You can leave this on for about two to four hours. I believe I did about two and a half hours. I just went out and did some errands and they came back home, but you can even leave this on overnight if you'd, like kind of a really intense treatment for me personally, unlike henna, I do find it much easier to rinse out my Casilla mixes and I Think that's just because the powder is much finer, so it's not as grainy. There aren't as many kind of tiny deposits that attach to the hair as you get with henna. So it's much much easier to rinse out and then once I rinse this out, I'm actually going to follow it up with my clay wash - and I do have a video for this - that I will link up that you guys can check out as well. So, if you're new to my channel, then I am a huge play washer. I really love washing my hair with clay. It is my preference and my go-to. However, I do have alternative wash days where I will just use a regular, shampoo and conditioner. I am not opposed to it, but if I have the time then I will definitely reach for my DIY clay wash and, as you can see, it allows me to detangle my hair really well. It allows me to run my fingers through my hair and it allows my curl pattern and my hair texture to really thrive and pop through. I would love to hear how your IO, Vedic, hair journeys are going, how your protective star challenges go in the thing. I love about incorporating Ayurvedic practices is that all of these powders can be added to your regular, deep conditioner. You can use them weekly if you'd like there's, no stopping you so yeah I'd love to hear you guys are doing, and thanks so much for watching bye.

Simonne Hall: I use both your clay wash and hibiscus deep treatment for my primary wash day regimen and it has really helped my hair to thrive and my curl pattern to pop! Thanks so much for putting me on!

cassball7 aka Cassie: Tonight is the 3rd time I’ve used this treatment since I saw it a few months ago. I usually have my hair in Havana twists and do the treatments in between the twists, I can say I feel my hair is stronger and I lose less hair when I take out my twists. People say black women’s hair doesn’t grow but that’s not true. Our hair grows but it breaks. I’m going to try the clay wash the next time. I appreciate the content. Maybe by next year I won’t have to twist my hair as much. God bless and thanks for the music. After I watched the vid for the first time, I went to iTunes to buy the song!

Kurly Kin: Hey Laila! I thought I would leave this comment to let you know that you've inspired me to start my Ayurvedic hair care. I used a hibiscus and fenugreek clay wash and my hair LOVED IT! Btw, have you tried rice water in your regimen? I would love to see a video about it

KiraiBK: I’m with you on the protective style challenge. I’ve been more conscious of washing and deep conditioning my hair weekly and my hair has responded. I haven’t tried Ayurvedic products yet because of the expense of accumulating multiple powders. I’m going to collect one by one because I want my hair as healthy as possible.

Esther Nabs: There's something therapeutic about watching your wash day. Never gets old

Natasha'sSecrets💋💋: Yesssss hunty ur hair is flourishing love. I have been adding a tsp of henna, amla and fenugreek powders in my DIY deep conditioning treatment every other week. I also love the clay wash. I do it once a month for a deep cleaning for my scalp. It makes my hair SOOOOOOOOOOO SOFT AND MANAGEABLE . Thank you so much I've been clay washing for 4yrs. And I also use it on my face. Love ur videos queen

Eva Capri: I just enjoy watching long natural hair wash days

Wazakauye Zulu: Hey Laila! My Ajurvedic hair care is going great. Realized that since my hair is healthy again after a year of cutting I don't need as many henna glosses just bi-monthly henna treatments. Might go back to monthly clay washes now that I've got a recipe that I like.

Reava Bennett: Editing skills come thru!!! Thank you for teaching me about organic hair care products and techniques. I’m in a transitioning phase of moving from using all these natural hair products to minimizing my stash in order to make way for better products. I love the Nefertiti pendant

Arodys: This reminds me of the start of my hair journey when I had time to research. I had so much growth and thickness. Going back to the basics and what worked to regain my crown.

Janine De Koker: Before seeing you on YouTube I had no hair goals. Just wanted to go natural cos I was tired of dealing with breakage from using chemicals. Your an inspiration, absolutely love your home made products. My journey is going well only 1 year post big chop but the progress has been good.

Marie-Eve J.: Hey! Do you use any type of deep conditioner after your DIY clay wash? Or does the clay deeply condition your hair already? By the way, I really love your ayurvedic treatments

Lady Dinah: After all these years, I still love me some Laila. The hair looks gorgeous per usual.

Roz Christopherson: I like that it doesn’t color but just strengthen and condition !!!

Tracy: I find henna doesn’t need to be left on overnight unless it’s easier to apply and forget about it for a while. I use it for benefits and hair dying. 3-4 hours dye release then 3 hours on my head. For me works just as well.

Write 2 Inspire: Which do you prefer: Cassia or Henna?  I had some really bad experiences with Henna so I'm considering cassia.  This was a very informative video; thank-you.

forever Mello: If I can be honest, sometimes mixing products intimidates me (wondering if I am using the correct amount or if my hair will accept/reject it) but I really enjoy watching your hair videos. Its weird but I like how you take your time with your hair and to see your growth has been nice.

Hellow: The thing about cassia is that it does not last as long as henna. The benefits go away after 2 washes, whereas henna can stay on your strands for months to years depending on how often you do it.

Harmony Farrell: Henna used to be the best thing that ever happened to my hair for length & strength, but now I get it dyed red at the salon. I’m looking at Cassia as an alternative, but I’m afraid that it might deposit in the strands in a similar way that henna does...not necessarily affecting the red colour now, but possibly when I go to touch it up afterward it may be a problem? Any advice?

Valerie Titus-Glover: Always introducing me to new natural ways to change up my hair care for the better. Thanks as always, Laila! Excited to try this when I take these twists out :)

Amma Boakye: Love this alternative to henna! I dyed my hair so I didn’t want to use the henna. I’ve been struggling with protective styling cause I ran out of ideas. I did mini twists, wigs, and Marley hair bun styles but I’ve run out of ideas!

Emily Rodriguez: My daily hair care routine- Spray mixture: *1 TBL Coconut oil OR (2 TBL) For thick hair *1/4 C Coconut milk OR (1/2 C) For thick hair * 1/4 C Rice water OR (1/2 C) For thick hair Microwave 30-45 seconds. Mix warm ingredients into a smooth liquid. Pour into spray bottle & spray hair in sections, root to tip. Massage into hair with fingers down the hair. *Wash spray bottle & spray nozzle/plastic hose in warm water & dish soap immediately after applying treatment. If you don't wash the bottle then the coconut oil will eventually reharden & clog the spray nozzle & plastic hose. I also massage peppermint oil into my entire scalp everynight before going to sleep. The peppermint oil stimulates hair growth & the massage stimulates the blood flow on your scalp. Wrap your hair in a shower cap & a head wrap or towel over night. My hair has grown rapidly. It's growing thicker as well. (Optional) I also take: 2,000 IU vitamin D daily I eat 3 boiled eggs daily. 1 whole avocado daily & Salmon 2 times a week. All packed with omega 3's. Breakfast recipe: 1 Boiled egg-Cooled & de-shelled. 1 Ripe avocado cut in 2 equal halves-Remove pit. 3 strips raw turkey bacon. Fit boiled egg inbetween 2 avocado halves. Wrap turkey bacon around avocado. Add butter to a frying pan Cook bacon/avocado ball on all sides till it's browned. Cut in 1/2 once it's cooked. Pinch of salt & pepper. Looks really cool! Like a dinosaur egg.. This is soo deliscious!

Niicole Reenay: Those treatments & creams, also eliminating harsh chemicals in the hair keep the hair strong from breakage Hair grows comes from the inside out, so a good healthy diet and plenty of water is the key to good hair growth too

Ash Dani: So glad to see you making natural hair videos again! ❤️ Your hair is thriving!

Hope Amore: This is so inspiring...look at all that hair! ❤️

The Whoever: I love henna sooq' s sukesh ayurveda mix. It has cassia, amla, bringraj, shikaikai, aloe and some other herbs. It had that wallah! effect on my thin-medium density, fine strand, high porosity 4b/4c. So happy I found cassia.

Brittney Randolph: Your hair has grown so much

Kay Von Kent: Hi Leila! Thank you for your video! I wanted you to know I love the music that you pick for your videos! I had a couple of questions. Is it safe to say that your hibiscus rainforest treatment, the original, is moisturizing rather than strengthen e? Is it safe to say that you're rainforest hibiscus treatment with the bamboo Etc and this conditioning treatment are both more strengthening? Thank you for your time. And thank you for the ayurvedic videos. They are a great help

Timetrae: My Ayurvedic journey is going well!! I did a Cassia gloss treatment yesterday and added hibiscus and amla. I use a Rhassoul clay whipped shampoo and Natty Naturals product line to moisturize because they are FULL of Ayurvedic ingredients!! I am installing my mini twists today and will keep them in for 6-8 weeks!! Can’t wait to be done!!

Amlana glow: I love showing my daughter's your videos to show them that natural hair can grow long ❤

MsSamiam79: Hi, do you think these treatments would be okay to use on my daughter's hair? She's 13. Love your channel by the way!!

Mariam Lawal: How often can you do a cassia treatment? And can you use a protein treatment after? Or the cassia serves as a protein?

Shay Jenny: My hair goals right here. I’ve never tried clay in my hair. Noted thanks for sharing beautiful

Jessica Ibada: Hello, Does this treatment help with dandruff. Also, what other ingredients would you recommend for dandruff/really dry scalp?

Nina Ross: Omg! Your hair grew so much. I’m addicted to your diy videos I will be starting this one soon. Thank you

Stacey Andrus: Hi Laila, I have some of the ingredients for this recipe, but what kind of BAMBOO POWDER do you use? (I went to the list), but I Did Not See It. Knowing Me, I Probably Overlooked it, Lol. Thank You ♥️ For Sharing ❣️

Natalie Joseph: Starting an Ayurvedic journey thanks to you! What is your current regimen? How often do you clay wash and use these treatments?

Yalorde: So after the treatment and clay cleanser, do you go ahead and deep condition and the rest ? Or just straight ahead go to moisturizing your hair?

gwenn4ya: Love your hair Laila! Looks so beautiful. I haven’t used my henna in a while, but maybe I will get some cassia soon.

camhaw: Just found you today and I'm so excited!!! Your hair is beautiful!!! Great tutorial!!! Thanks for this! Doing my first Cassia gloss as I'm typing this :)

Stacey Andrus: Hi Laila, Yet Another One Of YOUR D.I.Y RECIPES that I WILL DEFINITELY Be Making❣️ I Love ♥️ Clay Washing❣️ Also, I Have Tried Using Henna, And My Only Thing That I Wasn't So Enthused About Was My Hair Changing Color. I Know That There's A Warning That: Henna DOES Color Your Hair, And It Was TOTALLY My Fault For NOT Heeding That Warning.. But Now, Concerning The D.I.Y Cassia Recipe That You Have Just Posted, I Am TRULY Looking Forward To Trying It❣️Laila, I LOVE ♥️ YOUR CHANNEL❣️ MAY GOD CONTINUE TO GUIDE, ♥️ BLESS, ♥️ AND KEEP YOU ♥️ AND YOUR FAMILY ♥️ AS A WHOLE, ALWAYS❣️

Knit One: beautiful hair ... I have been planning on doing cassia or indigo instead of henna ... I also hate the time it takes to wash the hens out my hair. I have been doing the fenugreek infused oil and loving the results. I have noticed less shredding in the past month. Thanks for the video info.

Mary Ferguson: Hi, I always look at your video's but this is my first time commenting, I've tried several of your treatments. Your hair is so healthy and grows really good.

Adonya Wong: Your hair is gorg! How much shedding do you now experience since implementing ayurvedic herbs into your regimen? <3

Moon Lover: Hey Laila! Would this be affective with only Amla and Neem powder perhaps? That's what I have in my pantry along with Moringa... Thanks!

Roćanna M.: When I watch your vids I’m always elated and calm. So informative without being too much. Love from NYC!

Mrs BB25: You have such beautiful hair!!!! I've recently started experimenting with ayurvedic treatments. I've included MSM and onion juice to my regimen. Its only been 2 weeks so haven't noticed any major changes at this time. My goal is to improve my alopecia. Do u have any recommendations, and do u think MSM and onion juice will help?

Coolslim913: I've been mixing my oil with some of these Ayurvedic and seen a change i my hair... more healthy and thick....thanks for the recipe.

Jessica Green: Your hair is so healthy and gorgeous! Is this treatment low porosity friendly?

Mooncyn117: Hi Laila Have you ever addressed why you deep condition before you shampoo?

Jackson's Piano: Question: I use regular natural henna just to make my hair feel thicker. I believe the henna give the illusion of thicker hair because of the staining. Do this make your hair feel thicker like natural henna??? Anyone knows?

Kim Correa: Do you have high or low perosity hair cause what you use can make a difference thanks

Kayla: I love ayurvedic natural hair videos. Keep em coming! :)

The Jazzy Nation: This was great. Thank you. I am allergic to coconut for my hair and scalp. Would almond milk be a good substitute in this mix?

Lili: I always wanted to ask what the difference was deep conditioning before or after shampoo? I normally do it after cause I feel like the shampoo(not rhassoul) could strip the moisture. Any thoughts?

NaturalFRO: I should try this recipe. I usually do henna glosses it really helped with breakage and my hair is still dark coz of the oils I add to it.

Kerri Herbert: Thank you for this recipe, will definitely be using it! Beautiful tresses you have, you inspire me. Happy New Year ♥️

ElegantPaws01: Ayurvedic treatments are slept on. They are the answer to healthy, strong, resilient hair which retains length naturally. cassia Is wonderful.

SuperLivelife2010: Can this treatment be used once a month? Can you wash your hair first with shampoo and then use the treatment or do it the way you do it?

damzle: I noticed the bamboo here is a different colour to the bamboo you used in the sheabiscus rainforest mask. Any reason for the that?

Kjusttheletter: I wonder if you can use OTC hair dye after this treatment. I stopped using henna because my hair wouldn’t die and the orange strings drove me nuts. I would love to have a new treatment that helps strengthen my mane.

Ameerah B: I enjoy all these hair recipes, I would be one of the first to purchase if you started selling them. I’m too lazy to do it myself lol

twinfree78: Beautiful! You turned me on to clay washes! Thank you!

Kirsten Ford: You’ve always been my hair goals so pretty!

Blessedbythebest 1: How often can cassia treatments be done?

Vânia Luz: Muito bom

geneva hi: how often should you do this treatment?

Aisha Elisa: Love these kinds of videos so soothing ☺️

lisaspics1127: How often do you use this treatment?

Emy Emi: Ayurvedic powders changed my life. It stopped an intense and sudden shedding in one deep conditioning session. And now I use almost the same recipe as you every week and my relaxed hair has never felt better.

Ivy Anderson: Girl your hair is getting soooooo long! It is lovely! Peace and blessings my dear!

Kanma: Nice, thanks for sharing. Please, must this be done on freshly washed hair?

Curlymamii: I do these types of mask once in a blue moon. There was a time where I would do them regularly but found that it loosen my curl pattern too much.

Ayeoritse T: To be clear, you used the henna-not-henna as some sort of pre-poo then the clay mix as a shampoo?

NaturallyTeeCee: Wow your hair is flourishing! So far my protective style challenge is going well. I have my own hair in two strand twists currently. The next protective style I will be trying once my Marley hair arrives is faux locs for the very first time. :)

lovehope3753: I enjoyed the music selection and thank you for listing your tech specs!

ISI.: How do you prevent clogging?

Tarsha Curtis: Beautiful ! You turned me on to the clay washes! Thank you!

eritreasunshine: Love how thick your hair is

Lisa Butler: Hello, when you do your henna mix does it color your hair?

britthappens17: for the life of me I could not remember where I saw the "praying hands method." I saw that agessssss ago and have been using it ever since. Recently I was trying so hard to remember and then I randomly came across this video and I recognized you and remembered it was you

Charisse Smith: Look at that growth!! My hair is currently in a damaged state with work and two kids, I can’t seem to find the time to take care of it properly. I know you have tons of videos on hair care but what advice can you give on how to properly manage hair with limited products, ingredients and time? And what are the best route to take when dealing with heat damage other than big chopping?

Larice Wilcox: I'm going to try this, I have very healthy hair (maybe long by some people's standard) but I feel as though I've hit a stump as far as growth speed or rate.

Patrick Ward: How often do you do this treatment ?

Dre Day: You are a freakin GODDESS!!! My hair inspiration:)

purlple17: Hi Queen, may I have the link for your spray bottle? Thanks for all your hard work and for sharing so many wonderful tips. Cheers to the new year!!!

A B: In love with her hair

Britt My: My protective styling has been going well though I decided to try so brands to support some black owned and small business and unfortunately with it being the start of winter and my skin already being sensitive I thinknmy scalp has been acting up. I went from washing bi weekly to weekly and treating with tea tree and rosemary oil. I just did a length check and overall I've seen growth retention. I'm glad I remembered to write it down this time . I plan to do another length check in the end of March

Gwendolyn Carla: What did you do for the breakage you had In the front? I have some and not sure how to go about it your hair is flourishing girl !

ITS JUST JEMIMA: As always I love it sis ❤ will try it this weekend

clementinehorne: Hi the struggle is real these winter months thanks for the tips

Godslovely30: Your hair has gotten so long! Love your videos and music you play with them. God bless you! Happy New Year!

D Cannon: Can you use this in clean hair?

Brown Melanin: Beautiful hair❤

Rachel M.: Very informative. Love the song choice!

Martine Lecorps: Love your informative videos and love the music.

Sarah: Great video! Thank you for the video, I missed them alot.

T Taylor: Definitely had growth. Keep up the great content, I love your videos.

Anise Meena: I'm so glad you made a video on this. I have been using cassia obovata hair treatments for about a year now or more. In the past I struggled with low porosity hair and using protein treatments; even though I knew it was essential to healthy hair. When I first used it I would make sure to gradually add more and use it at least once every two weeks. It has changed my hair for the better and I cannot live without it now. I absolutely love these treatments and recommend them to those especially who are afraid to use protein; and are sensitive to strong protein treatments. I was experiencing breakage in the crown of my hair and thankfully that area has grown out soooo well! I attribute these hair treatments to me being able to retain length. After using these treatments my hair will be so shiny, soft, smooth, and manageable. I noticed I have the BEST WASH N' GO after this deep conditioner. I recommend for beginners to choose a moisturizing deep conditioner to mix with this; and apply to your hair in sections and use a bonnet dryer or hooded dryer so it can penetrate into your strands for 20-25 minutes. A deep conditioner I love to mix with this is The Mane Choice's 5 Minute Miracle Pink Lemonade and Coconut Hair Mask. It is so moisturizing that I never worry about protein overload with this product. I have been telling many youtubers and hair gurus about this treatment and nobody has taken me seriously or made videos about it. You know what magic is in cassia obovata though <3
