Hey youtubers Rachel here, it's so great to be back delivering the content that you enjoy. So, ladies, I just took my box braids out. I am so happy okay, I love my box braids, but I also really love my hair, so I was thinking a lot of people. Don'T know what to do. When you take your box braids out, they say well, Rachel just go in the shower and wash your hair absolutely not says. Dry, hair and a whole bunch of shed hair in your head does not mix with wash day or it does mix, and it results in a lot of knots. Tangles angry, naturally so in an angry head of hair, so stay tuned to learn how to properly revamp your hair after being in a protective style. So, first, what you're gon na need is a mixing container and an egg that I am struggling to crack you're gon na need your favorite aussie moist curls conditioner, some extra-virgin olive oil and making sure that all of the fake hair is out of your hair. I put my complete stamp of approval on this Aussie curls conditioner, it's better than the Aussie moist and better than the Aussie miracle. So what you're gon na do you're just gon na add some conditioner to your egg and add the olive oil. These ingredients is going to help, add shine to your hair, add protein and add the lost moisture so just mix it up really really good mix your ingredients up until it looks like custard and then add a little bit more of the Aussie curls. So for anyone who has protein sensitive hair, I recommend probably not using the egg. You could add a little bit of mail. Instead, it's a little bit less harsh, but I don't know if I said in a previous video, but my hair is heat damaged and it does have a little bit of color in it. And so I know that my hair needs protein. So now that the mixture is all set and ready to go section, your hair off and start applying, so the reason why I love doing this method is because I believe that my hair is very very dry after having it embrace, as you can see, but it's Very difficult to go straight into the shower after having box braids in your hair because of all of the dreaded shed hair that is in your roots, honey. So doing this method really helps with getting rid of some of that hair. Before you go into the shower and start washing your hair, because once you put the shampoo on your scalp, all of that dead, hair, all the shed hair and the dry hair is going to draw up and create knots and tangles. And it's going to be a nightmare in the shower. The water is gon na get cold, you're gon na be in there forever, and that just makes detangling and washing your hair very, very difficult. This pre-poo method or deep conditioning your hair before you initially wash it, helps because it not only gets rid of all of the shed hair or helps getting rid of the majority of the shed here. It also helps you detain goal your hair while you're out of the shower. I love to do this first because my hair is not drawn up, it was detangled and it was blown out before I got my braids in so it's pretty much already. Detangled and everybody knows it's a lot easier to detangle stretched 3d tangled hair than it is to detangle hair, that's already drawn up and has reverted in the shower when it comes to detangling your hair after you've had braids in them. It'S extremely important that you use a Denman brush or some sort of a tangle teezer, or even that easy detangle that everybody loves, because there is literally so much dead hair in your head. It is almost impossible to get it all out from finger detangling alone. A great tip to remember when you've had box braids in your hair is to make sure that you have separated or pulled apart the dirt that is often sitting around the top section of your hair, where your hair and the synthetic hair needs. This is often really really thick and has a lot of buildup, not just because of the dirt and the debris, but also because of the products that were used. So my hair is all washed and detangled it's drawn up and I am finished. This is the shedding that occurred in the shower and outside that's a pretty substantial amount of hair, but your hair sheds about a hundred strands a day give or take. So this is pretty much reasonable for box braids. Also, you want to look throughout your hair. Your edges, especially to make sure there was no extreme hair, fall out. So when I was in the shower, I washed my hair one time as usual, I took my time paying attention to the roots, making sure that all of the dirt was gone, and then I added a moisturizing deep conditioner to my hair. You could add that, for as long as you want to, I decided to just do it. While I was in the shower and rinse it out. What I'm doing right now is just adding all my creams and my leave-in conditioners. They all will be in the description box, but I do this to make sure that my hair is well moisturized and I put it in a low manipulation style so that it had sometimes the game back its strength. And I could just enjoy my hair being clean and neat. So, ladies after I put my hair in a low manipulation hairstyle, I just wanted to say thank you so much for watching and staying tuned. Tell me how you feel about this method. Do you think that it really helps to add somewhat of a deep conditioner and a protein treatment after you take out box braids, or are you the kind to jump in the shower and it works out? Just fine engage me in the comment section below thanks again. So much for watching subscribe. If you have not already for more content like this, god bless, you always bye.

Curls of a CPA: This is definitely an important step!! Once that water hits, it is over lol I don't get braids often so I cant remember exactly what I do but I think I usually detangle as I go with a conditioner or a designated prepoo

Savanna: Wow! I’ve been doing my hair all wrong for YEARS and then wonder why I had so much breakage ‍♀️ I’m definitely going to be using this method from now on thank you!❤️

afireinside0: Wow, thank you so much, this worked! 1st time taking down braids: Going directly to wash the hair, after 3 months, lots of tangles and seeding, terrible experience 2nd time taking down braids (now): after 1.5month, i followed your method (mayo instead of egg), olive oil, coconut oil and lots of conditions. I was impressed that my seeding was too low. It was too easy to detangle! My hair feels soft and recovering :D

Maya Bryant: This concoction melted away any tangles that I had. Thank you so much. I had a lot of shed hair because my braids were in for 8 weeks!

JLOVE: Just took down braids as well, trying this today! Thanks

Serenity Alii: Everything on you is just BEAUTIFUL your hair, skin, face, personality just everything

Alexis wilson: I’m not natural but even though I relax my hair my curls are resilient so it’s like loose curl. Anyways I’m taking my sew in out and I want to relax my hair but my leave out is breaking and my hair is sooo dry. Didn’t realize I needed to do protein treatments. So I’m going to do this and wait a week before relaxing it. Think I’ll rock my hair for a bit. It needs so TLC!

Shirron Branch: Girlllll yes ma'am this was amazing!!! I will be sharing the tip

A: I’ve been getting a lot of shedding with long strands for a year now. What can I use to minimize this?

T N L: last year i had box braids in for 3 months after not getting braids for like 5 years. when i took them down there was so much buildup at the root. i put SHAMPOO ON IT! my hair was coming out in CHUNKS. I was devastated. I basically wasted my new growth and existing hair. i've since gotten braids but now i know better. when i tell you there was knots in my hair for days? i had to go to the salon to get it cut it was so bad. now i make sure to keep my hair moisturized even while it's in braids, and always do an ACV rinse upon taking it out

Lady Davida: I been using Natural-all Jamaican Black castor oil growth serum, after I conditioned w/ virgin olive oil or Via Natural ultra care Moroccan Argan oil. For my edges I apply Kaleidoscope Miracle drops. I’ve see Good results. These combinations makes my hair smell Good, Stay soft & Thick. Thanks for your video. ✊

Perdita Kwarteng: After I take out the braids i always have a huge buildups so I take my time to remove all with a leave in conditioner mixed with water then detangle it well before I wash… I don’t use any eggs or something special but I make sure that I can comb through it well before I wash ☹️☹️

keywordbasia: THIS WAS IT! thanks for this video!

Edwina Bimpong: Hi! Can I use an alternate conditioner such as SheaMoisture Manuka Honey & Mafura oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner or Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Hydrating Conditioner or SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner. These are the conditioners I currently have right now but not sure which one to use for this process and which one to use when I deep conditioner after shampoo. I love your hair btw!!!

Alexis wilson: I really want to try the miracle curl but I’m tired of coconut in every product. It literally makes me sick to my stomach after using foxy it infused products for so long. so sad because they make for the best products.

Ali Stfu: I have to take my box braids today I’m defo gonna use this

Sharatia Banks: But naw I gotta detangle and moisturize before I hop in the shower. It makes life easier no doubt

ashley Sargent: Question? I’m a new loose natural and it’s time for me to take my braids out! So I’ve been looking for aftercare videos....but Um the protein and oil from the mixture isn’t that going to cause the dirt in my hair to form like cement and trapping those dirt in

Imani Johnson: How often can i use this?

Sunbabbyyy: Is using the egg and shampoo the same as just using a normal pre-shampoo that you would buy in a salon?

Amir Amarise: Does it have to be extra virgin olive oil, or can it can be another oil such as jojoba oil?
