Hey guys it's Devon and welcome back to my channel, let's not mind the disaster that I look right now, but there is a reason for that, because we are going to be coloring my hair today. So I'm super excited that I am going to be using overtone. Ginger coloring conditioner on my hair, I was looking into something that I can make a video for you guys now they were all stuck at home. We can't make it to the hairdresser most of you that know I am a hairdresser myself for 12 years and I'd be adding a lot of messages for my clients. What should I do for color? What should I do for my bangs, which I do for this most of my answers have been, do not touch it, because if you touch it you're gon na mess it up. The reason why I liked this option is it's a coloring conditioner, it's semi-permanent from what I read about it. It does wash out. I don't use permanent hair dye on my hair. Actually, I use a semi-permanent color ons color from the company Gold's, well, which I absolutely love, I'm a huge fan of gold. Well, but when you're stuck at home, you guys don't have access to professional color and some of you just want a little something to UM pump up your color that you have going on so overtone. I'Ve been seeing great reviews on this product. I reach out to them and they sent me this, so no, they didn't reach out to me that kind of scenario. I'M not getting paid to do this video. I actually was curious about them and reached out to them. That seems to be what most things with most things with me: whenever companies reach out to me, I'm just like, like I've, normally that interested, I'm, usually the one that's reaching out, because I do tons of research on things before I before. I want to try something out: that's just the type of person that I am so I was doing lots of research on overtone myself and I reached out to them. So I did get sent this, but I'm not getting paid. There'S no kind of scenario with that that I have to give a good review. This is all based on what I actually feel about this product and being a hairdresser. I thought it would be good for me to try it out for you guys. So the thing about overtone is it's not permanent, so it's not going to be great for great coverage. I don't really have any gray hair. I have very minimal gray, like a strand strand or so here and there. So for somebody like me, this is really good. They have lots of vibrant colors, like purples and pinks and blues, and all that kind of stuff, and they vary depending on what color you are putting this on. So if somebody had platinum blonde hair, the color is gon na turn out different on them. But if I put this on my hair at the darkness level that it is just like with vibrant purples, if somebody has blond hair, they're gon na hair is gon na be super vibrant. Someone that has darker hair is just gon na, be a hue of purple. So just keep that in mind and for some people with gray hair, if you don't mind seeing a little bit of your gray coming through, it might also be fun and great to try, but it's not going to be full gray coverage. Everybody'S gray, hair is different. Some people have really um. What'S the word, some people have really resistant gray. That is not going to take any color and some people's gray just soaks. It soaks up the color right away, so strand tests are always important, so I just want to let you guys know that before we start so most people at home do not have a balloon brush tip. I am just going to use my gloves. We'Re gon na see how this goes. The directions say to use gloves applying evenly to dry hair. So do this on dry, hair, wait, 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with warm or hot water, and it says you can use this weekly to keep color fresh. So, yes, this is like a toner. It'S gon na keep your hair fresh and vibrant and it won't cover my roots. So let's take this disaster down alright. So first, I'm about my hair has faded a significant amount, so we're gon na open this up here, oh my okay, that is legit. I didn't. I would don't know what, if I was expecting, I think I was kind of expecting it to look like a white conditioner and then I would process, but that is ginger. Okay, um doesn't smell. Bad uh has like a pretty pleasant smell, considering that it's color. So what I would do is even if you're applying this with gloves just to kind of section it. It doesn't have to be perfect because but at the end we can cut and mush it. But just to make sure you get your roots kind of do like one-inch sections happen in sections around, especially on the top on the crown where you're going to see it make sure really important is to get those baby hairs in the front, because that is where A lot of little hairs will stick out, especially if you're blonde they'll kind of give away that your hair is colored. If those pieces were not grabbed make sure you concentrate over here. Oh question: I have been thinking about different videos that I could do for you guys so that you can help you kind of keep up your hair routine at home, and I have lots of tips for like cutting your own hair or cutting your own bangs. The thing is girls, I'm not cutting bangs on myself to show you how to do it in a video, but I can kind of talk you through it give you tips. So let me know if that be something that you guys would be interested in, because I have lots of tips for cutting bangs and I can kind of mock. Show you how to do it. But I have cut myself bangs many times in my life, and that is not something I'm interested in doing right now. Okay, one day, maybe I'll do bangs again, but me and bangs don't really go well. I always like how they look, but I'm a very minimal low maintenance kind of person. So bangs stressed me out, because you always need to be on top of them and styling them. You guys are comfortable using a bowline brush. You can absolutely use one. I just wanted to do it like this, because I'm aware that most people aren't going to have that I wouldn't really use a bottle. This is too thick to put in any kind of squeeze bottle, but you can definitely use a hair coloring brush with this you're. Probably gon na get more accuracy with that again. I just wanted to do this for your sake, because I know most people don't have that lying around the house. Getting all these baby hairs down here, alright, okay, so now my main concern is my hair. Is a lot thicker than it appears? It looks like pretty fine, it is fine. I just have a lot of it and it's soaks up color like nobody's business, so I had that type of hair that people be like yeah sure I'll blow dry it for you at work and then like halfway through they're, like oh, my goodness, your hair soaks Up water, it takes forever to dry it. So at the end of this, I'm definitely gon na have to comb this through just to make sure alright, I'm back. I got it all over my head, I'm and I'm gon na set a timer. I'M gon na do 15. It says 10 to 15. I always prefer to do it a little longer just to make sure I used about half the container. It was easy to apply, but it is a thicker consistency, so I feel, like you, have to really like mush it and make sure you're really getting in there, because it is thicker like a conditioner, and I imagine if someone has really really thick hair. They'D probably finish that container in my opinion - and I was trying not to use all of it, but I can use this again anyway, other than that it was pretty easy to plot and apply it didn't smell, really bad, so yeah, I'm excited to see how it Comes out so meet you back here in 10 minutes, so freshly rinsed out, I have to say my hair feels really soft, so it really is a coloring conditioner. It feels really good. The color looks good from what I can tell, but it's wet so we're gon na dry. It I'm gon na use my husband's treatme blow dryer tree. I'M gon na use my husband's Chiefy blow dryer, because my good one is out in the front room and my three year old daughters in there, and she sees me that I'm never gon na leave there. So I'm gon na use, let's dry, my hair, really quick and let's look at the results. This is the result, see guys I love how it came out. My hair feels really moisturized. It definitely looks way more vibrant than it did before. So I say hi ila. So yeah this is definitely a product that I would recommend again. It'S semi-permanent for toning purposes keeps your color vibrant, just be aware, if your gray, that it might not have full coverage, it always comes out different. I'M on the website. It'Ll show you four different, likenesses and darkness. Is that your hair is how the color will probably show up on your hair but yeah, I love it. I love the results. Let me know in the comments section below, if you guys try this again, I used the ginger overtone, color and I'll. Let you guys know in some upcoming videos how it's holding up until then. Thank you guys for watching and I'll see you guys. I'Ve been feelin too small, but you cry big enough time tonight you spend my coin.

Loreal Rose: One of the best ginger color reviews I've seen. My hair is naturally dark brown so I tend to stay away from semi permant but your hair reminded me a lot of mine so I decided to give a go. This works lovely. I love the ginger toning conditioner too! Thanks for showing us. Also you look so elgant and beautiful!

Kristin Bailey: So glad you did this video! Finding products reviews for gingers are hard to find. Previously I had a Pravana color depositing conditioner that they no longer make so I’ve been researching what I can use when I finish it up. Things like this are little bottles of miracles for stretching time between appointments! Also, I would love to know what colors are on your eyes and cheeks :)

Jen_Z: I ordered this after watching your review. I’ve been red for decades and the Overtone is hands down the best color refresher I’ve ever used.

Millicent: I had dyed my hair for the first time ever the beginning of this year for my job (modeling), and I've wanted to find something to keep the color but not damage it like most dyes. This review is super helpful! Just bought some OverTone and going to try it out this week! Thanks :)

K.R. Sexton: First off, I reeeeally love your makeup. Your eyeshadow looks beautiful! I've had the same makeup routine since high school (classic millenial) and have been trying to go for a more natural look instead of heavy winged eyeliner and may try out this look! I've been researching at home hair dyes for the past few weeks and still don't know what to do. I would love to try red but I'm platinum blonde with 4 months of root outgrowth so I'm sure I wouldn't get the results I want. I was thinking of dyeing it more of a light brown or dark blonde (to match my root color) first and then in a month maybe go for red. Idk! I LOVE your red hair though. I've always wanted to try it.

Chelsea Smith: Just bought the ginger! I'm a dirty blonde naturally but have been professionally coloring my hair demi- perm red for years. Havent gotten to dye it this year so it's fading out bad! I just bought this color to spice up my hair and keep it healthy until I can go back to a salon! :)

Haley L.: I am a natural burnette with natural highlights! I have been looking at overtone and keracolor to go ginger, but was too scared that it would be too bright or too overwhelmingly orange. Do you think overtone or keracolor would be good for a darker haired girl that isnt a blackish brown but isnt a dirty blonde?

Linda Foley: Thank you so much for this video. Just received my ginger today. Your video helped me feel much more confident! You also are pleasant to watch...no stuttering, stammering, or looooong drawn out jibber-jabber lol Also, you look a lot like my sister-in-law :) Gorgeous!

Rin Watson: I used to use Overtone when I had green hair and it was amazing for keeping up the colour (with the general conditioner). I've recently grown out my natural ginger and may pick this up to give it a little colour boost.

Ashley Sanchez: I absolutely love this color!! I just dyed my hair early December and I’ve been using a copper Keracolor Hair Dye Semi Permanent Hair Color Depositing Conditioner similar to what you used. How often do you do you use semi permanent hair toner to make the copper last? I don’t want to over do it and cause damage to my hair.

Kelly Rodgers: I used the ginger overtone and my root grays ended up colored golden which really helped to blend them in with the rest of the color.

jazleita: Thanks for trying and reviewing! Been looking for a product to color my hair that is not harsh!!! Love this color. This is the exact color i wanted too!!

Kairrow: You had a very similar color before to what I have right now and I'm looking to get exactly the same results you had! So hopefully that works for me too

Edzenia Olivo: I looks amazing on you!! I’m a natural ginger, but I lost some of my natural bright ginger colour since I move to the north and I have less sun up hear. I’m been looking for a product that gives a little bit of help without damaging it because I never dye it before. I don’t want any bleaching or nothing that damage it. Do you have any thoughts? Do you think that it is gentle enough?

Kim Jong Lill: Your hair already has a red base which is why it’s so vibrant I wonder how this looks on untreated medium brown hair

Kat Owens: Wow I’m super impressed with the coverage you got on your darker roots!!!! Convinced me to buy

Talk to the Hand: It turned out SO perfect on you! You should be on a commercial for them

Samantha: That looks gorgeous, I would say it definitely works better on darker hair though. I ended up with bright pumpkin orange ends and a orangey brown on top after doing mine but my ends were a medium/dark blonde and medium brown roots that had grown out about 4-5 inches so the color was noticably different.

サラ: How well did this wash out for you? i’ve been colouring my hair regularly for YEARS. I have always used fashion colors such as manic panic, arctic fox, Overtone then reached out to send me a PR package I loved ALL their colors but the Ginger shade will NOT come out of my hair - coming up on 5 months! i have used lighteners, clarifying shampoos, at home methods for dye removal, it’s still orange, i’ve put BLACK dye over it, blues, purples, but as soon as they fade: orange! it won’t stop being orange. i’ve never had this issue with another fashion colour. it was blonde underneath and i was always pink but switching to Ginger made it so i can’t get my pink back because the orange won’t leave. :(

IT-STILLHAUNTSME: Nice to see a video where there is a care free attitude to the application, not being worried about splashing it all over your skin or sectioning , refreshing to see

hipretty: Wow I cannot believe how red your roots turned out when they were so dark in the before....without lightening or developer of any kind. I understand the entire head getting "refreshed" but how did it redden your roots without peroxide over brown? Beautiful results, thanks for sharing!

Rem Ember: Absolutely gorgeous results!

Khira Stielper: Your hair is gorgeous. I just bought my overtone and can’t wait to use it.

SidniOrchids: Girlll, that’s straight Now you made me want to go brighter. I think I’m going to do it this weekend. Thank U

Rachel Gardiner: I have always wanted to try red!! It looks beautiful on you! So pretty!

Gladys Najar: Found your channel because was looking for how to do a French braid. You were the only one who showed how to and I actually learned. I have red hair and looks like a great idea for giving your hair a fresh colored hair look. Thank you just subscribed

Rebecca fischer-Tripodi: HI there! I recently got balayage done and my stylist glossed my hair with some orange tones which I loved. I use overtone previously and was wondering how do I keep this color that I love so much. Since I am a brunette, should I mix the ginger and brown conditioner together so its not as bright orange and/or should I dilute the mixture at all? Thanks and looking forward to the advice!

Amanda Hunter: Definitely going to try this!!! Looks beautiful on you!! And your daughter is a beautiful little angel!!

aimsical: I love my grey hair, so that makes me happy that they might stick around with this!

Sofia: Do you think this would really do much for darker brown virgin hair? The ends of my hair are lighter and definitely red toned, but since it's been so long since I've had my hair colored professionally it has grown out so I kind of have this brown to auburn ombre going on.

storybook dreaming: It’s stunning! I just wish it wasn’t so expensive or was in stores

Fiona E: Thank you so much for the tips!!! I just went copper/red (on top of very blonde colored hair). And when it’s first done I love it but the fading stresses me out! Lol. Your hair is beautiful and girl I’d give anything to have arms like yours! I’m curious, do you do a daily workout or are your arms so toned from doing hair professionally??

julia mejia saenz: I have my hair colored professionally but it is close to my natural hair color. I mainly do it to cover my greys. You mentioned in the video that you would probably not recommend this product for that purpose. In light of the current COVID-19 situation, what product would you recommend to use at home? I have a brown with reddish undertones in color. Mind you, I have never colored my hair at home before but my hair is in desperate need of something. It has not been touched (cut, color, etc) since March 7th.

Love Life: Your hair color is gorgeous! Ive been using Overtone (Espresso and rose gold mix) on my thick, natural hair to blend the grey's starting to pop out around the perimeter. I love it considering that I can't use any hair dye due to allergies . How do I remove the color that is left on my skin near the perimeter? I notice you had it after you rinsed but it was not noticable at the end.

Jessica Anne: Hi! I'm looking at using this product, just wondering how long it lasted and if you also purchased the color enhancing conditioner

Madison Lyznick: Hi! I've been trying to figure out which overtone color to try and I'm perplexed! This color looks amazing on you but idk if red would look awkward with my skin color(im a neutral skin tone). Have you tried any of their other colors?

jack ver: You have beautiful hair! Question: before using the Overtone, what color did you have on your hair?

Teddjy: My hair is a level 5 and I would like to go copper. I was thinking about doing a bleach bath and then toning it, do you have any recommendations? I could not find a tutorial or tipps by a hairdresser which seems to know a lot about red/copper hair. Thank you so much in advance ☺️

Ashley Susan Hale: This looks so good! How long did it last this shade?

V ipsen: Thank you been looking the internet for days and days to find a red color this looks amazing i will go and look at the different options right away. And many great videos you make thanks for them all

sophiarosearts: I had my hair bleached a few months ago and I decided I didn’t like it anymore, and bc of quarantine I couldn’t get it professionally done, so I bought the chocolate brown Overtone bc it looked close to my natural color BUT it turned my hair BRIGHT orange! What should I do? I ordered blue shampoo and conditioner to try to tone out the orange, will that do the trick? Or do I need to cover it with dark brown?

Brooklyn: Hi! I know you posted this a year ago, but I was wondering would this be okay to use on Auburn hair or will it make it Orangey?

Cagla Kalayci: Cool and so helpful tip for gingers thanks a lott. As being a natural ginger, would you recommend this in order to get a vibrant tone for me because my hair is darker in compare with previous years

Gone Coloring: You are gorgeous and this review was helpful thank you!

Lucy Mishel: Omg i LOVE the color you had right before that you called “faded” thats the color I want from brown! Going to go back to watch how you got that hopefully i can stop at that ha

Shannon Diamond: I’m dying my hair with L’Oréal hi color hilights, my hair is two colors, natural medium to dark brown roots and then like a dark auburn ends. I’m using a protein filler before I dye it to make sure I get an even color application. I had a few questions. My hair dye says leave the color on the ends 5-10 minutes and then the protein filler says to mix it into the dye after I do my roots, then leave the color on the ends for 20 minutes. Should I do that? Also do you think this would help me maintain the ginger color if I use it after my hair starts to fade?

Nadia Iar: You are so freaking beautiful!!!!!!! loved this video and that color!!! I was wondering how it will work since I’m tempted to try red again! Omg! New subscriber! ❤️

Mayte Castillo: I love the color! I am trying to not damage my hair but I want something fun! Would you say this is safe if you are trying not to damage your hair?

2 cents: So beautiful... that’s you and your gorgeous hair! Loved ur little helper too thanks for the review! ❤️

rojina izquierdo: This is exactly what i was looking for thank you

MSRD: Can you list your cheek and eyeshadow color worn in this vid? It’s beautiful on your cool skin tone!

Jennifer Torres: Aww my daughter's name is Isla as well Love your hair!

L: I have salon black dye in my hair and know if I bleach it it will be ginger/copper so I’ve been thinking about mayyyyybe going copper and using Overtone to maintain. My roots are a natural 6/7 golden yet mousy light brown so I’m hoping I won’t need bleach to maintain it. Even if it’s auburn-y I’ll be happy

Lydia Holman: I have the exact hair type as you: fine but a lot of it that soaks up everything I also have blonde hair and my roots tend to get hot with red coloring. Is there anything you would recommend for that with this product?

ljcc7799: Beautiful! I need to check out this product.

jen obilas: how long did it take for the product to arrive ?

BassVanDam1969: WOW!!!!! You look ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!!! I’VE ALWAYS BEEN A SUCKER FOR A RED HEAD!!!! ❤️‍

Elin Dieme: I was going for your beautiful copper colour but so far I really don’t care for oVertone! BECAUSE it says it is semi permanent but I haven’t been able to wash it out at all. I was hoping to go a darker copper like you because my hair is a darker brown naturally, but my hair turned neon orange like neon like a tacky pumpkin.... it’s horrible and won’t wash out and I’ve tried so many things to make it fade. I think I may have to use Colour Opps to actually get rid of this neon colour :( Beware of that!!

Taylor Hornsby: I’d love to know how you did your makeup for this video! I’ve recently gone from my natural medium dark ashy brown to an auburn color and I’m struggling to find what colors of everything I should be using for makeup.

xo777: good to know about the overtone, thank you! Your hair looked great, healty.

Kate: I know this is an old video, but you could get a cheap mannequin with a wig to show us tips on bangs. I have the "cow's lick" thing just in the middle of my bangs and I cut them on myself and oh my! terrible decision! :)) I also made them too think (made the triangle huge!) so I'd love to hear some tricks on that, how to model it so it grows out prettier. or show us some hairstyles on how to kinda hide the thickness. p. s. the color is gorgeous on you, but I can't overtone in my country. :( about the goldwell, how often do you have to use it? and do you use it on natural hair or bleached?

Corrie Bingham: What was your hair colour before you put this colour on? Was it mousey brown naturally, or did you dye it ginger first over blonde? Ty

Sandi Jones: About to try Overtone, and I needed a little hand holding. Thanks for this!

nicole tan: Omg this color looks so pretty

Susan Ciborowski: What goldwell product do you use? I absolutely love it!

Lizzie Astorga: How hard is this to remove?

Patricia Vergara: Question: so I have a grown out ombré, if I use overtime will it be two different colors since the top of my hair is darker?

Tiffany Moreno: This is stunning

Jenna C. Johnson: wondering as a hair dresser who's now experienced overtone -------- i have natural blonde hair that's been red the last 8 years ----- always dyed by my ARTIST HAIR friend who's like the red dying king. but with pandemic and having not much reason to dye my hair... i have some virgin blonde roots, and rusty brunette hair on the rest. Wondering what a PURPLE OVERTONE would be like all over my hair... if my roots would just eat it up... in the best of worse way possible and so on.

Tiana Monroe: Awesome video thank you!!!

Emily Jane: Love the review! Was this used in ur natural colour hair or was the brown dyed from before ?

girlgonerad: Okay but can you share what color your hair was before you added this in!? I lovvvve the “faded” color too.

Maryanne Cheney: What other color did you use originally? (Mentioned at the beginning of the video)

Alexandra C: Would this immediately cover up any highlights? I've wanted to do some babylights for some dimension but if they didn't peek through this at all there wouldn't be a point to do them

Lauren Saunter: Luvv This video and your hair girl, can you make one showing how you cut or trim it and make sure to wear a cape! <3 starting cosmo school soon

Maria del pilar Rodriguez: I love it. Thanks for your video. So, how many washes that color is gone?

Jade Hernandez: Do you think this would look good on 9/10 level hair or would it look weird since my hair is so light

Kaylee Powell: Just watched for the review, but then laughed about the three year old comment. Is her name Eva?!? My three year old daughter has the same name!!! Made me laugh even harder.

Emma Sebastian: What blush do you use? It is such a great color!

Angela Moore: I loved this video thank you for your review! Are you wearing blush? If so what one?

Dani Witham: QUESTION ⚠️ @literally anyone who has experience with overtone... I am natural blonde that has been bleached lighter, I want to do overtone (either chocolate or espresso) and I want to know if any one suggest me “filling” with an orange/ginger before the dark stuff!

Chaotically Nikki: I can’t tell but how well did it go over the brown?

Heather Far: umm ok. you are gorgeous! that color looks sooo good on you with your skin tone and eye color.

An average Cod player: Am a guy with long hair reaching my lower chest and today am getting a really similar colour or this exactly, wish me luck

Lidea Barker: It looks like it stains the skin. Something good to know before one starts applying it.

Saskia Sack: Hello! Could you do a make up look like you wear it in the video? You look beautiful!

Diana Tavarez: How long does it stay

The life of Jennie: Omg, I loved it

Eefa: did you shampoo after applying this? wondering how it didnt come out greasy. I got a wella colour depositing mask which made my roots so greasy when i used it all over my head and scalp that now I only use it on my lengths (after already shampooing), which means my regrowth seems even more obvious.... :(((

T V: Is there a similar project that would work on dark brown hair? They have a red for dark hair, but it looks super vivid red and not ginger.

kr.taylor: so i bought this! and have blonde hair, but when this eventually “fades” or “washes out” will my hair still be blonde again?

SimplyArly: Hi my hair color is black and I been dying to dye my hair. I looked at the reviews of overtone and it not supposed to damage hair which is good because my hair is also fine and breaks easily I’m not sure if It because the last time I bleach my hair I didn’t use the proper shampoo or conditioner? For the color I got which is red(but the color was very dark so it didn’t look like I had red hair Lmaoo) I want to know if by getting the same color that u got I can have my hair color be a cooper or maybe redhead? And i want the color to stay for a long time. Does the conditioner and shampoo only helps for the color or it like a everyday shampoo and conditioner?

Kennedy Kurtz: I have highlighted blonde hair and want to get a brown shade. Will it ruin my highlights in the long run even after rinsed out?

Bead Dangle Design: I have dark hair with red highlights. Would I be able to use this to give my highlights a boost. My hair is dark brown with red highlights I'm just looking to boost up the highlights??? What do you think?

Leah Braniecki: When you rinsed did you just rinse with water or did you shampoo or condition at all?

Jayline Baez: Did you use the “for brown hair” option or a different one?

Cassie Ussery: So pretty!!!

Matty Toten: Did you already have colored hair before you tried this overtone?

Jilliee: How long did the stain last on your hands :(

Katie Burch: Does it stain the hair
