Hey charlie, welcome back to my channel, ladies and gentlemen. It is time for another video. Well, actually the same video done twice so yesterday for day 10 of day, whatever it's called 12 days of critical honey, i got to think about it for day 10. I use the infamous coco black curling custard. You know the little black jelly that some of y'all said, look like venom and whatever, but here's the thing. Unlike a lot of content creators, i read and pay attention to my comments. Y'All know that stuff flaked up on me had me looking like as denise would say: aspen on my shoulders just flakes everywhere, and so some of y'all tested my gangsta and said faye. Are you sure it ain't, the leave-in that caused that? Or did you use too much? Basically, y'all thought it was my fault that that mess flaked up on me anyway. Some people really did wonder. Was it the leave-in that caused my hair to flake, because on camera, for some reason, the flakes look white to y'all, but to my naked eye they were great and here's. The thing i ain't above saying that i may have did something wrong. I ain't above saying it could have been a leave-in. I could have did too much. It could have been me, but it could have also been that formula and so just like in the past, like, for example, with allocate naturals in their lemongrass, leaving, i absolutely hated it. I changed up my technique. I ended up loving. It could happen with this particular video too, so we're gon na try the formula again this time i ain't using no leaving it out. So if it's flake up it ain't, my fault now mother always wants to be fair. So i contacted the company. I was like. Listen, i did the review of this. I actually liked it, but it flaked up on me. I just wanted to let you know. Is there any best practices what's going on and they responded, and i appreciate that this is what coco black naturals had to say. They said hi ma'am greetings from ghana. We'Ve got some few complaints about the flakes and we are working on eliminating it boom. So i replied to them. Thank you. I'M going to re-film this and this time when i use it i'll just put a little bit of oil on top of damp hair and then i'll put the custard on top and they said good. So with that being said, number one: let the record show that i am fair number two. Let the record show this company know this stuff flakes up and they working on it. So with that being said, let me go off camera and we're gon na get this video started. We'Re gon na see once and for all. Was it me or was it them? Let'S go all right. Let'S get this show started, so i shampooed with the main choice. Basic guava shampoo, a deep conditioner with shea moistures purple rice water. I don't know what i'm about to call it. It must be some, but that's what i use - and i ain't add any leave-in i just detangle and separate it and it's gon na dry it out. So what i'm going to do is add small amounts of this oil and then top it off with the custard. Just like last time now, let me tell you something that i found out in the comments of the initial video, i'm not familiar with lanolin oil at all, never used it before uh. I had no idea that this came from sheep. Now, i'm not a vegan. By far, but i i kind of tend to lean more towards vegan beauty products, so this i really don't want to use, but for the sake of the video i will go ahead and apply it, but this would be my last time using it honey. So i'm going to take a little bit of the oil put it on each section right, just like that, put it on this section and i'm trying to keep samantha in place, because i want to make sure my hair stays damp and i don't want it to Get dried out while i'm doing my hair so wherever the product is not applied, we're just going to leave this little rayjay situation going on right here, just gon na be shifting all over the place, but anyway about this much rub it together. It is still gummy. Okay, let me put this all over here right, making sure i get the rules all that. Yes, it definitely still has a lot of slip and it feels very, very softening now. Of course this don't look a mess because i didn't really like separate in small sections to define. So let's do that now, so i'm going to take just a little bit more of the custard, but not too much because i don't want to over apply so i'm going to take about this. Much rub it together. This is what it looks like in my hands and i'm going to put this on this section. I want to make sure i get my roots rub it in here to evenly, distribute and start raking right. It looks good, it definitely does, but i feel like because of the oil is shifting the product around. So it's not really gripping. My hair, like i wanted to so the next section. I'M not gon na use any oil at all honey. We'Re just gon na play with this thing and see what combination work best. Okay, so i'm just going to kind of shingle a little bit to see if that helps it to have a little more definition like it looks good like i can't even print. It looks good, oh yeah, y'all seen it y'all seen it, but i noticed that my roots are puffy and i think it's because of the oil. So let me finish this patch of hair off camera and then i'm gon na do the next side with no oil and see what they turn out like hold. Please welcome back, so this side has been completely set and it does have the oil. This has no product on it at all, so when this one is coming through one more time, there is no oil on it. So i'm going to take about this much product right, rub it together in my hand, and i wiped my hands off just to make sure it was no oil or whatever. So i'm gon na put this on this section. I'M gon na work that, through with my fingers on it, child i'm trying to see if i can make this little thing work and then rubbing it on again. I definitely feel the slip and the slip is incredible and it feels very moisturizing in my hand too. I mean i could work with it. It definitely still has frizz, though i can look in it and see some of the strands are defined. Some of them are not. So let me break this into a smaller section, honey and i'm trying not to over apply, because i don't want to have flakes again. So i'm going to take this much rub together. Put it on here chop. This is stressful honey. I feel like this is tph all over again trying to see. Is it the product or the me? Is it the me or the technique whatever it look good, it look good. Can i say it like it more than wetland? No, i i definitely can't, but i feel like it looks good, so let me apply some more and apply this much product apply it and work it in. I still see frizz, like not all of the strands got covered, but i'm so nervous about over applying, because i don't want it to get crunchy and hard, and but it does look good. I i can't even look at it. Okay, my hair set. So this is what we're going to do. I am going to get under the hood of dry, i'm going to let this sit for about 20 minutes and then i'm going to get on the hooded dryer. Let it dry all the way and i'm gon na come show it to you before. I do any form of manipulation. My thoughts so far still feel like it's extremely moisturizing. It got a lot of slip i feel like it applies better without this oil. The only reason i used this the first time was because, like i said in the last video on their instagram, they said best practice was to spritz their hair. With water apply this oil, then they put their coconut leave in on top and then they put the custard on there. I feel like this is moisturizing enough, that you don't need to do all of it, but this is my personal experience. I, like the application, a lot more without the oil being involved. What i will say is y'all know how, when i do like this, it kind of slips around or whatever i feel like. I can do that on my hair too, so it didn't really weigh down my hair, a lot to prevent frizz. So i feel like, instead of like my normal raking method, that it was best for me to shingle, but once i shingled, i absolutely loved it, and i just keep having to tell myself child this is a curling custard, it's not the same as a gel. It'S not gon na behave like wet line. Think other custards, that's what this should be like just a thicker version, so honey. I did enough rambling talking this second video anyway. Let'S just get to the point: i'm gon na dry, my hair and i'll be back and we're back. I went ahead and got my nails together because i know somebody was judging now: let's get this hair together too, it is now officially dry and it actually has a cast on it like. It definitely has some crunch. It ain't super crunchy, but i can feel the crunch. So i'm going to take a little bit of this lanolin oil rub it together and i'm going to scrunch the crunch and it's flaking right. I see i see a little stuff flying in the air, but it listen. Let'S just see it on through a little bit. Ain'T gon na bother me as long as it gets itself together and it stopped it, but yeah. I definitely see a rain down for flakes and we've reached the end of our saga. Let me give you my final results like even when i clap my hands just now, a flake just flew up so yeah. My hair is flaky, so, whether it's a leave-in on there or not, this formula may lead to flaking, but at the same time number one: that's what happens with flax seed and even possibly zinc and gum number two: the company acknowledges that they are aware of it And they are working on it, which i'm very glad to hear, because overall i love the fact that you can get moisture from a holding product like this is actually very moisturizing. So i did like that. My hair is not like super crunchy or anything like that. I made sure i didn't go too aggressive when i was applying it, so i didn't over apply. So my hair is very pliable. I was able to pick with no problem, but it does still have hole and a little bit of crunch, i would be able to get a few days out of this. I love the fact that my hair is very defined. I enjoy that. Only thing that i can complain about this formula is the flakes, but if the company does reformulate work that out, i would 100 reuse it, but for the simple fact that this product is 18 us dollars and then because it's coming from ghana, the shipping is another. 38 dollars, you add that together, is that something you want to pay for something that is flaking right now me personally, that's not my no, but if they reformulate and work out the flaking situation. I would 100 support this because they do have a lot of potential. I just need to stop flanking honey, so i realized because of the darkness of my shirt. You couldn't really see what i was talking about, so i'm going to just go ahead and just do like this a little bit these curls kind of cute, though now i'm going to turn my lights down, so they're, not as intense, so you can see. What'S on my shoulder right now because honey, if you look around my shoulders all over here, we got flakes now. My flakes are not as severe so i do say if you do want to go ahead and try this make sure you get their leave-in. I did this on top of no leaving, and i know majority of my audience is not ever going to do the hair without using a leave-in. But that's what i chose to do just to test this. But if you do require a leave-in get theirs, because, hopefully it's formulated to work together with this particular product. This has been fun y'all, but i'm tired of all the turn, as tribute so mother, getting ready to put in a protective style soon because mother's tired. So with that being said, if you have any questions, leave them down below, do you want to sit back? Let me go ahead and show it to you. Yes, all that uh-huh! Yes, yes, that took that too, if you have any questions, leave them down below. We love you long time, i'm maki. and i will see you tomorrow for the last day of 12 days to christmas 2020 on my channel bye, honey get out of here. You

TressesOfAlexis: Shout out to a creator that listens to their audience and a brand that listens to the customers!!!!!!! YA’LL BETTER STOP TELLING PEOPLE THEY “UsINg iT wRoNG” and CLICK AN AD

Jenn InStitches: Not trying to convince you, but the information is always good. As someone that raised sheep, lanolin is collected from the wool that is cut off. Nothing to worry about animals wise. Since you have to shear sheep, it is a product that is available and it is really good for your skin. It moisturizes wool and that is a kind of hair. It is a great cuticle sealer and when put on warm to dry skin, nails, or hair, it can do AMAZING things.

Felicia W: The sheep aren't harmed when making this oil. It's from the wool that they have to shave off anyway. It's no different than wearing a wool sweater. I agree with not testing on animals or killing them for products but this just isn't the same. It's no different from using products with honey. I respect your views and totally get it!

Yolanda Jennings: I love that you reached out to the company and really tried to give the product a fair chance. Your hair still looks really cute.✌✌✌❤️❤️❤️❤️

Night Angel: I don't see why anyone doubted you. The product flakes on everyone that I've seen on YouTube. Glad that the company is looking into it.

Queen La: Girl...I was like...wait, did she cut her nails for the people? Oh, she’s so nice. I am about sick of folks telling influencers they are applying product the wrong way. If they want it done a certain way, then they can create their own channel and applying produces the way they want to. And guess what? Folks are gonna tell them that they are not doing it right, too. People just want to be mad just for the sake of being mad. Life is way too short for the nonsense.

Christine knight: Minus the flakes your hair still looks good as always.

Leos Kiss33: This is the type of content that I absolutely love! I am very pleased that the company acknowledged that customers were experiencing flaking and they are working to fix it! Simple I love it! This is the kind of feedback and follow through that should be happening with brands and influencers because you guys are speaking up for us customers I really hope this trend continues with all brands

Clarissa Nash: Your hair came out cute as always. I love that the critique was just that, and the company is paying attention and fixing their formula. THAT'S how you do business.

Bella J xoxo: Love how thorough and consistent you are lol

Jermaine Au Natural: I had my eye on this and the flaking is a constant thing from the folks I’ve watched. What is making me full stop is $38 shipping, yikes! Great video Very cool you tried what the people suggested and that the company is aware and working on it . Your hair looks good dispute the flakes.

Phoenix Blacc: Thank you for doing this HONEST review! I wasn't even looking for this product specifically, but your thumbnail made me curious. I hate products that make my hair flaky too! That's too much trouble for the average consumer to order overseas and it's expensive. Thank you again for trying it, so that we don't have too!

lauramarps: THANK YOU for talking about product flaking! I finally found a product combo that produces reliable curls/waves for me but it flakes like crazy... I’ve been trying to figure out why the flaking is happening with no luck. I never thought my favorite leave in would be the culprit but after watching this video I think I’ll need to do some experimenting. ...or just buy a ton of new products

Jaloney Norwood: I was just about to purchase this product , thank you for your total honesty. ❣️They are running that product on IG like it works. No I do not won’t any products that flakes which reminds me of other products Ive used in the past that ruin my blouse. The company should also state the products will cause flakes and there in the processing of correction. I will continue to search for a product that does controls shrinkages, not flake nor feel stiffness and look dry out. Thank you again for keeping it

Janell Lewis: Hi Smamtha. Faye thank you for giving me something to smile about during these last two weeks of distance learning. Teaching is not for the faint and then add in technology challenges.

Karen Womack: Love your whole vibe Sis!! Thank you for the follow up, especially since you didn't have to do it! Errrbody (#STL4Life lol) I've watched using this has flakes regardless of what they use with it or how much of it they use - glad the company is looking into possible changes. Stay blessed ma'am!!

LaTasha Faison: Thank you thank you!! Sis for doing a video on them (well 2) because EVERYONE else including the one they provide makes this product look like the "Holy Grail" of natural hair. I was all ready to order for my son, Nah I'LL WAIT!!

Rise Up Warriors: Your hair looks so good! That trim has your curls poppin! ❤️

Nancy Price Mogaji: This was great. Two reviews. A+. It was a problem product but you did a great job reviewing the positives and negatives

Olinka Troy: Great product review! Honestly, this product doesn't flake on me! But I don't "fluff" my hair either.

reallyme02: Very thorough and honest review. Kudos to you for making this video!

Jazmin Young: Hey Fayyyeee! Haven't watched the video yet, but I know it'll be QUALITY content. Love you sis ❤️✊

Joy Banks: Girl, you good for doing it again. I had problems looking at you re-apply that gummy gue.

ACDQUEUE: Thanks for this video. I just got cocoblack and the cast concerns me as well. Im ordering the conditioner and lanolin today.

Lauren Bradsher: I just love you Faye! I can't believe you are doing this review again! You love your subscribers! Lol!!!

Faye Berman: I am allergic to lanolin, can’t even wear wool sweaters....... when you used it in yesterday’s video I was like “well guess she doesn’t have that issue”. Yet another reason I gravitate towards vegan hair/body products

Tezra Taylor: You don't harm sheep in the process of making lanolin. It's the byproduct of cleaning of the wool when they are sheared.

Ashley Kirby: Great review! I wouldn't pay that much for a product but it's nice to know what's out there!

Dinah Nicole: You have no idea how much your spirit permeates through the screen...thank you for YOU

Eric Williams: Lanolin is amazing!!! People eat chitlins and all kinda other animal parts but scared of lanolin which has been used for thousands of year. Faye dont let these folks make you miss yo lanolin blessin!!!

Trina Thompson: Your hair actually looks flakier the second time around. I’m happy the company acknowledged the issues and are willing to work on it.

Crina Becks: I appreciate your honest reviews.

S O: You are awesome! You had me cracking all the way up. Very impressed by your engagement with the Company. Your due diligence is on point.

S Maxwell: Thank you Faye fir for this part 2 review .. always luv your honest reviews

Shanta Dawson: Love your videos. And yes ma’am no leave in ain’t happening on this type 4 hair hopefully they find a fix for the flaking.

Bora Lola: Hey Miss Faye!! You know I realized even if you have complications, your hair still looks amazing darling!! *Snap snap* Also, who was judging your gorgeous nails?? Let me at 'em!!

Huntress Yalena: I've seen a lot of hair youtubers that have used it even just using the product and they have said it was a lot of flakes at some point but since it's dark some were ok with flakes and some were like I'll put to the side but only thing i heard about the oil is women that are breastfeeding have used the oil on their skin, thanks for stating where it came from didn't know that and your hair does look nice but flakes and the slipping around on your hair would seem as a down side i think because of the 2 ingredients you mentioned in your last video one of them might be the cause i get flaxseed gel vibes from the custard can't wait to see what their new ingredients list will be

Love Always: I would like to see this product on different types of 4c textures because the way 4c thin hair, low porosity hair responds to products is different from 4c high porosity thick hair. Low porosity hair doesn't even absorb to much of a product so I think people would have to play with it to see what works

Denysha Dials: I’ve been impatient lately so I’ve never actually sat through your intro til now—I LOVE y’all’s Christmas photo by the tree ❤️ just looking all kinds of magical

Niki Edmonds: 18 American dollars plus 38 more for shipping!?! it better be brought to me by my ancestors from the afterlife on the heavenly version of the Amistad for that price! And it flakes!?! Issa a no for me dawg...but I do love how it made your curls pop

Crystal D: Faye you are fair Sis. For the record, I knew it wasn't you the first time

Tennille Bowens: Welp, this definitely is a no for me until I see a different formula then. Flaxseed give me Aspen vibes, too so I avoid it at all costs lol. I appreciate you trying this out again for the people, though. I'd considered buying it, high shipping costs and all but I can get flakes for free shipping right here in the US, so that's a major reason for me to pass! Your hair looks great, though. That trim really released the pop in poppin for those curls, girl!

D. Redd: Your hair looks great and you can see the flakes, but its good the company recognized the issue and working on fixing it.

FunctionalProductJunkie: I knew it wasn’t your fault the first time ❣️you’re always fair Faye ⚖️

Shari-Lee Davis: After a long day at work, this came at the right time ❤

Ladycarmel Cartet-Dillard: Add a butter to your hair before you put the custard on it will soften cast and stop some of that flaking

Joreaner Stimpson: I heard the CRUNCH It's a 'no' for me. You are awesome! I love your integrity. You look beautiful God bless you!

mighty Strong: WHEEEEW WEEEEE! y'all thought it was fault this stuff flaked up on me!! gave me ICE CUBE vibes Faye I love the way u stay in top of thangs for us you look so pretty hair still came out good though.tfs

Gill Perry: It's a shame it flakes your hair looked beautiful. Love that you ALWAYS do a 360 the back is everything DEFINITION

Theresa Mcgilvery: Thanks Faye for the heads up about the flakes. Good to know. Did you ever get that new hooded dryer. If so which one did you purchase? I'm still looking to get a new one. Thanks.

T Alexander: Flakes BUT your hair looks great!! Lanolin is extremely thick --- it can be used for moms during breastfeeding, to coat papilla mammaria to prevent crusting and cracking.

Regina Adams: Well, you're taken care of business, the proof is in the pudding. But will applaud the company listening and taking action!

Maya Michelle: Oooo, that’s a lot of flakes... hmmm, I hate spending so much time on applying layers and layers of product, so it’s nice to know how moisturized your hair feels without the leave-in and also even without the oil. Well, despite the flakes, your curls are totally rocking... BEEEYOUUUUUUTEEEFULLLLLL!!! Love your reviews! Very honest and clear! Your personality is so infectious. Love it!

Pamela B.: It made your hair look beautiful.

MyHiPoFro: This product seems complicated. When they stop the flaking I'll consider it. Until then, I'll pass lol. Awesome review as always.

C: I’m waiting for an affordable dupe of this product bc I tell you , almost $70 for the 170z..

Jamisa Spalding: Your hair looks incredible with or without flakes. You did an incredible job.

Nickx Brown: Your hair looks very good & the flaxseed gel is good for your hair

Tyson McKie: Love to see us supporting the diaspora! Hopefully they’ll fix the kinks in the products.

Oonagh72: 1. You and your husband are a beautiful couple. Your kids will be perfect. 2. Damn I hate that it flakes. Your hair is so pretty! 3. If you want to do one more experiment on a small section. Maybe try wetline on top. However I think it may not work either, because xantham gum has never not flaked on me.

Jacky Wairegi: Shout out to them for LISTENING and promising to work on it....but it defines them curls And yes girl, I was judging those nails

Zay: Faye, when are you releasing products? I feel like you know what we want and need! Lol

E: Rock with them just for looking into it and trying to fix the issue. Appreciate that they are setting am example

Anna Nicole: I’m gon keep flaking on day 6 with my green wetline for $4... I stashed 42 zillion jars

Seer Channah: Thank you for doing this. I just wanted to know if that happened without the leave in as well.

D R-K: Great response and method Faye. The definition is excellent but the flaking, texture and shipping price... yeah it's a no go for me. I hope when they reformulate they contact you again because they are on the right track.

mrsbrownsugarsweetz: Not the close up “y’all thought it was my fault” I’m sooo weak

Apara: Did you feel the flaking was less when not adding the leave on or the oil on the bottom? Like was it less flaking when used alone?

Tina Brown: Appreciate your honesty

Sonia Palmer: I love those glasses! I had to go order a pair!!

Tamika Miller: I’m happy that you tried this

Cindy Barrymore: So Faye, what do you like instead of this product to get similar results without flaking?

Diana Diamond: Thank you sis for doing this review you just say to me are you money on buying more hair products that don’t have the results that we want! when we buy products. Thank you for doing this again to make sure you got it right

Alison Griggs: Thank you so much I love your reviews !! In my head you are my older sister love you@!

M Rose: Hey Mami!! Happy holidays!! How do I order this product and can I tell me how much it was and how long it take for you to receive it?? Thanks in advance

Leida Almeida: Hello. I recently tried this product and the same happened to me. O reachout to to Cocoblack Co. And they suggested that I use a MOISTURIZER along with a leave in and oil and CHILE, it worked.

Amber Luv: If you are a black woman born in the 70s or 80s im sure you have used lanolin in your hair. My family grew up on Dax and Blue Magic and even though petroleum jelly was a main ingredient, lanolin was the other oil. Truly did wonders at the time and kept my hair in good condition.

Lady Kingsrey: Yes, Ms. Faye, you are always fair!

Keisha N.: I liked it with the leave in...glad you reviewed this product cause it's ah NO for me

Dawn: Yep...those are FLAKES. Thanks for the part two review, Faye. Love ya!

Darkskinbri ___: Your eye color is popping today

Nae Baee: This was lowkey a look but without the flakes the hair growth chilee !!

Veronica Curlee: Thanks for double checking love you Faye

K Renee: Thanks so much for doing this over!!

Maiya Jones: Sorry it flaked again but your hair is still gorgeous!

TBella26: Eek!! Yea.... Definitely flaked! I know I suggested to try again another time but I didn't expect you to try so soon lol. I see others were doubting you completely smh. Yea to pay that much they have to fix the formula. It has potential buuuut that ain't good enough chile when our coins are involved. Great video as always sis!! ☺❤

sweetestvictory: Faye honey chile you are a beautiful woman and you are very comical about your content I love your videos and I enjoy them.

Sashawna Wellington: I had the flaking problem I was so embarrassed of the black flakes on my white uniform.

blessed child: i sub cause u keep it real... keep it up sista

Tamitria Walker: I just hollered.... this is TPH all over again

CupidK. Bear: How long does the product hold in your hair? 1-5 days? or more?

Hunny Gyrl: Ur intro is beautiful! Merry Christmas beautiful!.....love ur realness

Alexa C: Back in the day when all we knew was blue magic and dax .. Lanolin was one of the main ingredients.. so it been about girl

N P: Just some information (please don't come for me). Lanolin is harvested from sheep's wool. It's basically sheep's sebum. No sheep are harmed during collection.

Ayana Dixon: Every influencer I've seen try this has dark or black hair. I'm curious how it looks on sandy brown hair like mine.

LaToya Porter: THANK YOU for this video! I was definitely about to invest in this but I’ll pass.

Milly Ward: Hey Faye!!! I haven’t left a comment in while but have watched every video. Just wanted to say hello and merry Christmas hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday season ❄️❄️

Bombshell _: This company doesn’t list the ingredients, it’s so weird for me to not see that on a website. I’ve been reluctant to buy because of this

C M: It was very nice of you to give that shoe polish another chance lol but that consistency is driving me crazy IT AIN'T YOU! it's the product. If it takes ten years to do two sections its a no for me. Lol look what they did to your hands lol

Minxs001: Let's us know if you have problems washing it out. Thanks for sharing!
