Hey guys welcome to the all things hair youtube channel. My name is alexia. You can find me all over the internet at candid kinks and in today's video i'm going to be showing you how to care for 4c hair. So since you're already here, you're tapped in go ahead and give the video a thumbs up and subscribe down below and let's just get into it all right. So the first thing that i like to do is pre-poo and do a little bit of a finger detangle to kind of prep my hair for cleansing. This is if my hair is dry, as it is right now and in desperate need of a whole. You know tlc moment so i have this suave detangling cream and i'm going to use this to saturate my hair pre-poo, my hair and kind of do a little like i said pre-detangle. So this is what it looks like a light. Moisturizing product - that's going to just like, i said, soften up my hair, so the cleansing portion is not stripping or does not cause my hair to be tangled or too dry. You can leave the pre poo on for like 10 to 15 minutes is my preference, especially after i finger detangle and kind of like get my hair prepped. Then it can soak up into your strands and then you can shampoo. You can section off your hair at this point as well. If you like to wash your hair in sections, i kind of work in sections and i apply my products in sections. I don't actually section off my hair. I find that it's easier to wash it this way, and it takes me less time, but it's just a personal preference, never skip the crown of your head. The crown of my head tends to be the driest and the area that needs the most love. So i make sure that i add extra pre-poo to this portion once i finish my pre-poo session, i'm going to go in and shampoo and condition these two products are from shea moisture. I'Ve used these before they're really moisturizing. You want a shampoo, that's not going to be super super stripping. It won't dry, your hair out, as well as the conditioner softening detangling some slip. These are all things that i look for in my conditioners. Oh good, hello, so my hair is looking really good. As you guys can see, we are already completely a complete 180 from when i first showed you guys my dry needing to be taking care of hair. So i'm about to do a deep treatment on days that you know my hair has gone a while without moisture and without deep conditioning i like to follow up with a deep conditioner. Now this one from shea moisture is like a cult classic. In my opinion, i have used this product countless times, especially i first started. You know trying out the natural hair products on the market and, like i said this, is a cult classic, because it's really thick, it's really moisturizing and you don't even need that long to read the benefits of this mask. So let me show you guys what it looks like because it's thick okay, look at this: can you guys see this thick okay and especially if you have type 4, 4c hair? It'S going to drink this up, i like to get a lot, i'm a little bit! Heavy-Handed when it comes to deep conditioners and i'm just gon na slather it on that's it, i'm just gon na slather it on. If your hair is wet, it's a lot better because it'll just slide and glide and melt into your strands. So you can take your time now when you're applying your mask to detangle. I like to wait until after because i feel like my hair is softer and more manageable. When i rinse out my conditioner like this, then i'll go in and really detangle for styling. Look! My hair, my hair, literally drank this up, so you can apply a plastic cap, a plastic bag, a deep conditioning cap just for like 15 to 30 minutes is all i need, but you can go to 45. If you need to, let's read the jar and see what they recommend over at shea moisture, they say up to 30 minutes so again. For me, 30 minutes max is all i really need when you rinse this out whole different head of hair. So i'm going to put a plastic cap on let it sit for 30 minutes rinse it out and i'll be back with the rest of my routine, a little bit of a hint. It contains the liquid oil cream method. I'Ve been doing the method for some years now and i love that method. So, if you're having issues with dryness with dry hair with your hair drying out after like two days, this is really gon na change the game for you. It did for me. So, let's see so now that my hair is rinsed and very soft, very supple and already moisturized from that deep treatment. I'M going to go ahead with my liquid oil cream method. So liquid can be water, it should be water, but it can be a water-based, leave-in, water or aloe vera juice, whatever you prefer so for today, i'm going to go in with this liquid leave-in this water-based leave-in from shea moisture. Let me give you guys a little peek at what she looks like she's, basically, a water based product. What i like to do is apply this all over my hair and then section my hair off, but we're going to apply the liquid all over our hair and then we're going to apply an oil so for today i'm going to be using this love and beauty. Planet, oil: this is like a sandalwood and grapeseed blend. We'Re going to use this oil to seal in that moisture from the liquid leaving it actually smells so good. Oh, my gosh, it smells so good and the last step in the liquid oil cream process is going to be a cream leave-in. I only ever use a thick creamy leave-in for this step. It helps my hair stay moisturized for longer, which is the whole point. This one is from suave. I absolutely love this leave-in. I'Ve used it on a few occasions and it definitely does make a difference in how my hair feels, as you guys, can see it's nice and thick and creamy. These three steps are really going to help your hair stay moisturized for longer, try it out, and let me know how you feel about it, because i really feel like type 4. Hair gets a bad wrap when it pertains to retaining moisture and dryness, and i think that this, these three steps together make a really big difference. So i'm going to section my hair off and then go ahead and with my styling products i'll be back for that. All right so at this point i like to really go in and detangle for styling i've applied a little bit of extra leave-in just for slip, and you guys are going to see how soft and easy to detangle my hair is, after all of my steps that You guys just watched super soft super moisturized and ready to style, soft and fluffy. It is so now i'm going to go ahead and style. If you know me, my favorite style is a twist out super easy. I can go very quickly and it also just helps my hair stay. Moisturized stretched all of things that i love get a nice medium-sized section. You can go through one more time with your detangling brush, just to make sure it hasn't smooth and we're going to get to twisting. Yes look at this twist, so i'm going to keep twisting my hair and let it air dry overnight and i'll be back tomorrow. Show you guys the results? Okay, so it is the next day and my hair is dry and ready to be taken down. I'M gon na take some more of this love beauty and planet oil just a little bit on my hands and i'm just going to unravel the twists. Adding the oil is going to help with frizz and also just add some shine to your style. Alright. So this is the final result: soft moisturized hair that should stay moisturized all week until it's time for your next wash day.
