4C hair isn’t what the internet and other 4C hair girls make it to be. Today you will get to join Aishia and Brittney, a self pro-claimed 4C natural in the salon. Aishia shows how to work with 4 C hair.

Hello, everybody welcome to um. I am black girl, curls facebook and youtube today, i'm in salon here in chicago. That'S where i work from. I work out of chicago um at our salon. Space called the girl society. It'S appointment only though so don't don't roll up on me. You don't know i'm here, because i only work with clients, especially with um, with copic. It'S only like one client at a time so uh today's we have here brittany, greenbee, and this is why we don't just in case somebody's wondering why we don't have our masks. Britney is actually my nanny. She works out of my house. We are both backstage in the streets. Oh, but when brady came to me she came in her beautiful pro. She was telling me all about it and i was like oh okay, you know i'm just listening, not saying anything. Did i say anything about your hair. You know shared some things about her hair with me, but i'm going to treat brittany just like i do any other client that i ever work with and again i want to say i know that we work with a lot of stylists across the world. At this point, um, the expectations that i set for myself are different stylist stylists, so don't expect the same exact thing but um be able to know what you're looking for when you're looking for a stylist to work with in the future so regularly so bringing you When you come, clients come in, i'm like brady. Tell me about your hair. Actually, it would be like tell me what you told me about your hair, because it's not what brings you in today, because i bought you here um, so i am a 4c or that i assume that i am my parent. What makes what makes you think you foresee, because they feel, like 4c, is like the kinky curly, the tight coils like that look? Okay, i feel like that's what this is: okay, um yeah, just a little fro hard to it, doesn't grow much. I feel like it. Doesn'T grow much okay, um a little bit hard to manage because it's so kinky, it's so thick and she has a lot of hair y'alls, high density, hair, yeah, okay, so brittany before, because i actually did get britney shampoo. She had done uh one week of detoxing. So because she's only been with us, oh, this is three. This is week three for us together, the first two weeks you have braids came back to the house yeah, and so she said braids and she came out of braids and she did try shampoo and conditioner that i recommend for my clients to use prior to seeing Me, although typical clients have to use that product or the set of products for shampoo and conditioner, which is, i know, y'all, want to know, ag natural, shampoo and conditioners what i have my clients use for 30 days straight before i ever see each other. So basically, four shampoo sessions, um clean style and condition sessions or cleanse condition style sessions before we ever meet the slime she's only known the wheat, but the other thing is um. Brittany wasn't: were you using oils and butters over here before yeah? She was using what which oil coconut oil. So she was using coconut oil, because the reason why people are even over here on this space because they really want to know like what are you doing. Yeah um that everybody's hair, like bring this, is gon na. Leave you with a link today we're doing a haircut. It'S gon na be longer so she's just coming up with yeah. So i was using like coconut oil, um yeah yeah, okay, no butters! No! No! No! Okay and how often were you using the coconut oil every day, every day she put coconut oil and you sprinkle, i sprayed my hair every day morning, wow and what does what is dry to you like? What do you perceive dry to be? I feel like dried to me. My hair is okay, so dry is not a feeling. Dry is a behavior, meaning that you're spraying your hair, because you think it feels away, but it's not behaving also in a way right. So mostly it's a behavior. It'S not a feeling, because i always tell clients, like my hair. Well, no fill my hair like run your fingers in it's nothing, soft about my hair. Yes, of course my hair is worse, like you feel, like bridges or whatever. However, cubicle feels you can feel that on my hair, so nothing there's nothing, no matter how smooth my hair is, even if you go all the way where it's probably the smoothest, it can be like running your fingers down there yeah, not soft yeah. It'S not something! My hair feels like a burlap sack; it does, but it's just that's just the nature of your hair. So what we're going to do today, i'm going to do for any client that was in the salon we're going to detoxify we're going to cleanse we're going to condition. Oh forgot: we're going to so we're going to clarify we're going to detox, cleanse condition, detangle and then we're going to set you in a washable. Here'S the reason why we're doing the washable, because they're like y'all, always doing washing those major reasons why we do wash and go really through the fastest. It'S the one, one of the hairstyles that you can be done like you dry it and you're done. There'S! No! You can give it some fluffing, but you don't have to wait for it to set and take it apart and waiting for, like a twist out to set or braid upset can take a day or two before it's actually completely set. So this is why we need to with our wash and goes it's like. I do my hair, i dried it. It might be a little damp, but i can go on with my day that whole process can take anywhere from an hour for some people to two hours now with the drawing. So this is why we do the washing goes. What the washing go does um. It. Basically sets your hair and it's natural curls, so your hair in shampoo and conditioner looks different than it looks right now right. What does it look like when you're saying a little bit longer longer patterns in my hair, so it just depends on the day all right. So i'm going to have britney go over to the ball, so you're going to see. Well, let me fix it. First, we're going to go just so dark outside i'm going to move the camera over, so you all can see what we're doing over there. Let me see how charged i am thank you all for joining us, okay and i'm gon na bring you guys into the bowl. So that might mean i need to move my laptop and the muscle has to be very careful of water situation um. I will take some time once we get brittany to maybe when we start conditioning maybe answer some questions, but i will mostly be talking to brittany. However, when i get britney at the dryer i'll take some time - and we can talk about things that you guys saw so hold on a second live is very different, especially as hairstylists working in salons manny and are on cameras. Oh that's a good view. How long y'all i want y'all to get into get in the bowl with us there we go so i'm gon na give brittany a cape and a towel. I'M gon na give you the one with the arms. I actually know i'll give you this one. I'M gon na give you the waterproof one, we'll probably have water everywhere. So the reason why i asked clients to detox i'm sure you're wondering the reason why i asked clients to detox for 30 days. It makes a difference in the results that clients get at the appointment. If you can start that process before we ever meet um, you speed up your your progress and then you get a much better result at that appointment versus me spending a lot of time at the bowl, sometimes over an hour just shampooing, to get off the dirt Oil build up and oils and butters that you have used so bring this on lay into the bowl. Hopefully, everything will run the water for a few weeks. Make sure it's not anything weird coming out of here. Let me know if you guys can see fine. It is a little dark, um good to know, though i'll get some lights some better lighting for in here i did bring some light. I don't think they're charged, i'm gon na say that's when i was charged. It is charged. Aha, i think that's a little bit better. Okay, good! You guys said the videos clear awesome. Thank you! That'S the best i can do on light right now, so hopefully that helps out a little bit. Okay, awesome! Thank you! So we're gon na start by wetting, brittany's, hair saturating with water y'all can see the steam so yeah. That'S some good light. I'M gon na completely saturate her hair with water. It'S gon na start to either just get it wet as as it could. Let me know if that's too warm breathing, i have a tendency to not know sometimes sometimes hey brady. Do you have any questions so far? No and y'all have to ask me anything you want to know, and if it's too cold in here, let me know too so i'm seeing breezy's hair get water, i'm seeing that is it's wavy, it's more wavy than coily yeah colby did a number on being in The salon, so, yes, i see you carrie, thank you arcana. She thought she had this down. I did now she did say that after she used the ag natural, shampoo and conditioner, what did you notice yeah? My hair just felt better. It felt lighter it felt softer. Like just not way down yeah, so this area right here, so look at the tail right now, like it's bunched up, i owe her a detangling brush. We talked about that last time. I have an extra so i'll, give you my extra one they're out of stock right now. That'S the only reason what i got in the house we're going to start with the clarifying shampoo, which i didn't have her use, which is no big deal we'll get it all taken care of in just a minute. So what is the clarifying so clarifying shampoo on this? The spectrum of shampoos is the strongest shampoo, okay and basically, you help to remove the dark oil and build up from the hair, the kind that regular um, like all-purpose shampoo, sometimes can't get okay. So yes, britney has a ton of hair in here already y'all can see that i'm like stretching out. You saw how little her fro is. I'M so glad i took pictures. I would be so sad if i had not and already i'm seeing what her hair looks. Like so i'm going to bring him here, hold this mirror and i'm looking at your hair right now and i'm seeing like this is these are that's your curls yeah, i'm actually gon na take my time a bit going through her hair. This is eunice, i'm over here doing my hair watching you hey yo this. I told her when she leave here when she leaves here today. Her hair is going to be longer everybody's like i want. I need some girl feels like no. No, you just need to wash your hair, in fact, in the words of black girl girls wash their damn hair with some quality products, it's just crazy. How long it looks when you show me your sister's hair, and i was like okay - and i see your hair right here, even though this this villas here, you know it's fine here in the front of the zipper. It tells a story about what's going on inside. So i could see i just couldn't like i used to probably saw me staring at you a couple times. I was trying to figure it out, like i wonder what it's going to do. That'S just me trying to figure out what it's going to do. Lots of times, i'm surprised, clients are surprised what's going on with their hair. She likes wearing her pro. I'M not gon na. Take that from her. Her girl is about to just she'll, have a polished version of her pro too there's like polished, frogs and then there's um and mostly because she needed a shape. That'S it. That was the biggest thing is that she really needed the shape to go with her curl. That she has right now, but the only thing i, the only uh hesitation i have with just wearing a fro, is how tangled and matted it makes the hair and to keep it. You really need to be doing it like every three to four days, really so that it doesn't matter so like yeah right through the front cut to keep it contained, because what every time i'm doing here, i'm containing it when i style it, that's a way to Contain and give a direction it's going to do what i say to do until the hairstyle yeah wears off. Look at this, so i i know exactly now: i'm getting a better picture of it now i know what it does. What are you feeling about what you're seeing it's a lot weaker than i thought um? This is your. This is when they be like. Is this your king? Is this your 4c? Is this your queen? Look at your queen? I guess i've never been able to just look at my hair while i do it: okay, clear fair, so it's like going off of like what i'm seeing in my like dripping down or like how i feel it when i'm doing my hair um yeah. No, it's pretty surprising. Actually, i'm really surprised yeah. Her hair is actually it's loose. Look how loose! This is right here. You see that wow, i'm taking my time with this shampoo only because she didn't do a full detox. The only reason i'm taking my time and because she's a little tangled, so i'm actually starting that on this handling process, and let me know if this is painful at any point when i'm breaking through i'm starting a detangling process now. So i can help to manage your hair and keep it from tangling up even more i'm a wash and go person who works out four days a week and sweat a lot of my scalp wash conditioner wear my fro two days a week. That'S what's up! I am going to be doing a lot more playing with my hair, because i can now i'm in a place of play. You first have to get your hair in shape to play with it so things i ask clients not to do like. Let'S not do this. For the first 12 months, just like, let's keep it the styling simple, we keep the style and simple. We actually reach our hair goals, if that's gross for you. If that is uh fuller, because you know there's some spots, i'm sure that we're gon na have to like cut around because you have some breakage in here. Oh my god. If i wanted growth like what shouldn't i be doing, it's not so, let's talk. Let'S focus on what to do: okay, and what should i do. We'Re simple we're gon na keep hairstyling super simple until your hair fills back in in the places where it's probably broken until you get like say well now she has determined that i'm her new hair goal. Somehow she thinks that we have the same hair. We do not. Our hair is definitely very different. She has determined that i'm her hair go, but what i would love for brittany to do, and i'm not saying she has to, but what i would love to do to get her to where she wants her growth goals to get her. She wants color. She wants to be able to blonde up launch herself up too uh. What i want her to do for the next 12 months is to keep her hair styling simple. She might have to take a break on her braid. She loves braids. She loves them so much, but i just need her to take a break. Just give me six months without worries. Just six. Okay, give me six months. Give me six months. Give me give me this: give this six months and i'm really meeting her where she is because i know how much she loves wearing braids. So i normally have like 12 months i'll be 12, but i'm gon na she has access to me so she'll be able to ask me questions throughout the week and i'm not gon na deny her because she's at my house six days she's a little bit tighter Back here, but her hair is not as coarse as she thinks it is her. Hair is actually smooth when she showed me a picture of her sister's hair. I was like can't be that, like i know, sisters have different hair. I just know it, but i also knew knowing your background was like. No, i don't really think it's like that and then, as i looked at, i was like she's just dehydrated. Her hair is dehydrated. That'S why it looked and appeared like that. It'S so crazy! Your sister is going to die. Who are you we're coming? I know i'm just like looking at this little pearl here and i'm like who's, i'm honestly shocked, i'm shocked. She is so shocked. It'S interesting to see the styles and saying, while the shampoo doesn't actually do that, i find it works better than conditioner. This doesn't work better than conditioner. This is just a jump start um. I do this a lot of times, especially on new clients who are not good, detanglers she's, not a business angler. Yet will she be a good? Yes, she will. She definitely will become an amazing detainer, but right now she's, not uh, and she has to become a better shampooer too, and better shampoo means that you're working your way downward on your hair, you're still going to get in the scalp, but you're working your way down. On the hair, as opposed to herbal essencing and doing this yeah, i'm getting the scalp a little bit here as much as i can, but i'm not done shampooing and for her to have had braids her hair is actually not in horrible condition, like sometimes the braids Be jacking people up so bad, my hair be like nope, okay, so that is just clarifying shampoo again. She doesn't really put stuff on her hair. So it's not really a lot of stuff on here, but it was really more so just to get that hair loose and stop loving them and stuff. Look at these curls wow. This is a whole head, she's going to be a whole new person. She'S like a pro. Oh, my god, is that definition of curls, like that i just now. I don't even know what to expect. First part of the magic trick is wow. Okay, i so y'all know i'm doing the most, so i'm taking pictures grabbing additional content on the side, so bear with me yeah, yeah. Okay, when your hair is lathered in shampoo, you should be able to see your actual curls uh for britney. This is the first time really seeing her hair like this, but then again she said: there's no mirror in the shower, so she didn't even know this was happening right under her nose under your nose with these curls, so we're gon na rest this out and then What i'm going to do is i'm going to do a hard water treatment. This helps with any additional dirt oil and buildup. The shampoo just doesn't get minerals, especially present in our water, because we live near a lake. Lakes are filthy, sometimes yeah with minerals, and they stick to our hair and when they stick to our hair, they actually block our moisture yeah. I didn't either until i started doing i was like oh my god, so you might notice the smell. Let me do it. Let me know if that's too warm like ears, don't want me to shampoo his hair. Do you know people pay me money for this? That'S how i support you? No, i did it, that's how i support you. What'S this shampooing dude? Okay, how does your hair feel? I want you to touch it? Oh, my god, you can feel the waves. You never feel them. I don't know why i like just assumed it was like. Oh it says it's just wet: it's not really my hair right, that's ridiculous! Now that i think of it, but this is the heart right treatment here all right now. This will not go on your scalp. It only goes on the strands. Okay, i'm gon na be working it in sorry from the bottom and then working my way up. You may smell something that smells kind of citrusy or even it smells like a bag of just breaks down the minerals. Yep, okay helps remove it from the hair. I recently had it didn't disappoint. I don't know if you guys know about it, but the dentist explained everything like i'm explaining this and hair thing or whole shampoo session to my clients, and i really really enjoyed that. It was the first time i had to have methyl dentist, just sharing that with y'all, but this not everybody's, going to be a teacher. So if you want somebody who teaches and will explain things to you, then you have to look for a stylist. That actually does that everybody is not doing that and know that appointments like this will cost more, because the time it takes to do your hair and talk at the same time with a mask on it's a lot of energy being exerted. So i just wanted to excuse me, fill you guys in on that part, i'm gon na grab a little bit more starter. Oh some steam, i'm gon na work this in for a little again, i want to make sure there's nothing. She has hair. She has a lot of hair back here too yeah, but look at this hold on here up have a look it's so creepy. I feel, like i just haven't been doing. My hair correctly then like to be able to notice this, and whenever i go this long, you know i'm not like watching them. Do it right right, yeah. This is not coily. No, it's a loose girl sort of tight, though the loose, so you have more of a medium curl yeah and as your hair grows out, they'll get heavier and then they'll get a little more weight. They might hang down a little bit more because you don't have. I have clients who have curls like you, pull them out and they snap all the way back up so like from here it'll snap up to about there. Your hair doesn't do that. You see how it get your shrinkage. What shrinkage? The only that you had was because you had no water in your hair. Here was the void of water i'll go in close. I don't know if you guys can see. So let me i'm gon na scroll down real quick and go all the way down to the new comments. Oh it's over. Okay, so she thought she was forcey. You didn't see her. I have taken pictures. So if you are signed up for the text, i'm going to send you all the text in a little um and then i'll say i'll put it up later on social, but i'm going to get in close. So you can see her hair is what i would consider a looser curl and the reason why i'm saying that, because even when i pull it out - and i put it down - it does not snap back that much. She has a it's a bit of a if we had to go with shapes. It'S a bit of a loose s. Some people have tighter s's. Some people have tighter z's. I have these and i have some s's and i have uh some loose z, curls, but her curls are pretty much their little cider in the back just a little bit, but no she's. She would be a looser curl still. We would still consider her a tight wavy though nonetheless bear with me. I don't have a cameraman okay hold on a second. If i were to get a number letter like i'm, not a uh. The 4c people are at first you're, deaf, not working. You are not. No, i mean yeah you're, not did you professionally? Oh yeah, she was very oh, oh yeah. Are you gon na leave without me, i thought about bringing her nah. She would have yeah. She would have caused the whole thing. No, she has not yeah. No, she won't be invited near ten, has only been here like five times and i've been here over a year. Okay. So what would you say my hair is then, so if we had to go with the letter number spectrum, how is this, how is this considered? 4C though she called herself horsey, she also has never seen her hair like this. She came in in florida. Evans, it was it was. It was florida, it was florida. She had absolutely no uh curl. There was absolutely no curl pattern to her hair at all. Like you wouldn't, i know it was a curl in there. You just couldn't see it. Sorry y'all, i lost my little my angle, but is a theme for those who are saying that. How is this? The 4c, this couldn't possibly be 4c 4c, is not real. It'S not real, it's not everybody who thinks they're. 4C is not 4c. There is no such thing as 4c. Hair is to be assessed by surface texture, her soccer texture being smooth um, her strand size, she's, medium to coarse, but for the i mean the fact that i can see this hair strand. If i do this, we still can see it all the way over here. If i hold this hair strand up, i'm trying to find a good angle. Y'All can see that hair strand and if i go out in the camera, you probably still can see her hair strands, um, she's, she's, definitely coarse in strand size, um density high. She has high density lots of hairs and her porosity is really not that big of an issue um, but it's it seems to be on the medium low to medium spectrum lifestyle. She works out. She works she's, my nanny she's busy taking care of my home. She also is my assistant too so she's a nanny assistant and so she's doing other things and she's there successfully, i'm not slaving her y'all. She has fun working doing my job i do taking care of my home is fun for her. I never thought i would be. Anybody thought that all the stuff that i had to do in my house was fun. She'S, like oh, my god. You want chairs. Let'S put some chairs on the back porch, i'm like cool i'll, go to target. That'S our favorite place! It really is, she really loves going to target but she's busy. So that's my point, she's very busy. She doesn't want to fuss over her hair. She was quite comfortable in her pro when she thought that was all that she could do, though yeah now she's like wait, a minute possible options, wait a minute. What'S up so yes, when we learn to take care of her, we actually assess our hair and look at it. You notice, i mentioned nothing about her curl pattern. Her curling has nothing to do with anything. It is those things the density, the surface, texture, the texture diameter of her curls, her lifestyle. Those are the most important factors that i need to be assessing when i'm doing her hair. Her process doesn't again doesn't matter to me at all. Okay. Now i got all that off. Sorry, i'm gon na get you a tail cause, i'm very messy with water. I also like to make sure everything's awful okay. She would tell there we go, but i want you to touch your hair now that this is like the cleanest of a clean canvas that it'll be. How does that feel like run your fingers through? It feels so pretty like the curls are just and i'm going to do a close-up, so y'all can see her here and bring the light over because there we go, i'm going to get some new lights y'all. So next time we do this. It'S gon na be the last time wow there we go, i can just grab each i'm definitely embarrassed. I'Ve been using like the wrongs, because i didn't know that my hair did this. It could feel like this. This is not how it usually feels after yeah. It'S like yeah, it's a whole new life over here to hold the world like aladdin. Unbelievable. Take me one third, one, okay, so that is just that. So, yes, your curls are a bit tighter because like they're starting to draw so this is probably what they do. But the thing is that you don't have any styling products on your hair. All right. You have to be able to capture these curls inside the product. Styling products hold the hair in place, nothing happens without a styler, not even a frog. Your fur was happening, but you can still have a. It can be polished yeah, and this is what the condition this is shampoo, so we're actually getting in here getting the scalp, because i haven't done that yet this live stream will actually be left up. This is a part of what um our salon series that we'll be doing with actual real-life people. I actually want to do some more for seek professed self-professed 4c folks. She will not be the last one. I'Ll definitely be looking for some people in chicago who think they have 4c here, i'm out here, obliterating 4c. That'S that's my goal. For this year, this quarter been a while, since she had one of these right, brittany. I love this type of hair loss. Y'All see me, i'm actually able to run my fingers through her hair, see some curls is our visual library. Basically, we put together all the things that pertain to natural hair and how to actually take care of it together. We'Ve been working on that resource is over five years of us actually working on the resource in terms of how we've done different iterations of it, but um combined as far as professional. That'S over 14 years of experience in that resource we've been teaching women, thousands of them online how to do their hair for the last five years, and if you don't have success with the stuff or with our insight that we put out, we beg you to take Your time to go through the information and watch it multiple times, because you're not gon na get it from watching one video got ta watch the videos a couple times, my goodness look at god. Won'T he do it. So if y'all see that with this y'all, unfortunately i'll be talking about - oh no shampoo, she said i'm about to clean for sleep. Please don't i'll ask for pictures before you guys even say anything. I need some real rugged 4c people, because brady was for sure she was so sure i was like. Oh you do you consider yourself worth it's like? Yes, why? Yes, i do i'm so glad you understand. Meanwhile, i definitely thought she was like yeah absolutely. Meanwhile, she was shady and what time is it? Brittany? Because we started at about 11 30.? It is now 1209 you'll be under the dryer in about 45 minutes. Also, britney's hair should not take a long time to dry one she's, not long she's, not terribly. In fact, even though she used coconut oil, did you mix it with water? Well, you put water on top of it. I probably just ran out of your hair anyway, and because my hair is smoother, she has less cuticles. So it's less places for the coconut oil to actually go. My hair couldn't absorb it as much. You need cuticle, it's a really big impact. So for those of us who are coarser, i mean our hair is not smooth. We don't have really time to be playing reindeer games with our hair, like risking it all for some information from somebody else. Who is you know, self-professed guru can't be a self professor, where you got ta hire a receipt of your guru. Gurus are not self professed. Friends and doing my own hair is not enough, which is why it's so important for us over at black girl curls to actually show you lived experiences, because each and every single head of hair we get to work with is a different lived experience. Brady'S experience is totally different from my own experience. Her hair doesn't look that much different than her sister's hair that she showed me. So your sister is just wavier like her hair is looser, i should say yeah and less coarse. She got some coarse hair in there because that's all the way, this big yeah she does not, but you have a little bit. You have a little bit more than her, but your hair still is it's coarse and smooth. It'S so weird! It'S like a it's like a salad, so to speak, to have them just in there. It'S like sandwiched in there together. It is there's like different parts and like this feels way different than this part right right here, and i don't know if that's just hair or because, like were mixed or um, touch your hair again um by the way, because she said she was me she's actually Uh afro latina. She is all puerto rican and black black puerto rican. Yes, she black black, but she thought her. Hair was completely different than the rest of the rest of her siblings. I'M the black sheep. I got the black hair, no just wasn't doing the black hair right. That'S all! We don't treat the black hair right yeah. We have to treat the black hair better. I felt so bad for what i've been doing to her. Not very good people are not going to be able to talk to you later, make a point, we're going to be ready for your brush. Oh yeah, like who are you friend, it's like it's me, i'm new here right, new crowds to don't try to know what i'm doing like you use the hard water treatment. Then you use the shampoo. I did not use hard water, shampoo or use treatments totally different than the shampoo, but until you can get to a salon, shampoo will just be enough for you. I didn't actually smell the hard water treatment on your hair, which is funny i couldn't smell it, probably because when i got back here, it's usually highly concentrated on the back of people's neck makes sense, though, because that's where we are getting our hair wet most when We shower in bay yeah the air filter, which kind of keeps the cold in here tripped out right, y'all, all right, we're gon na rinse, the shampoo out, so we've cleansed she is cleansed. There is clean it's free of as much debris as we possibly get off today. Again, like i said that 30 days makes a difference, and i can see why for brittany, because i actually was like go home. Take the shampoo and conditioner watch some videos. It still didn't connect because she didn't see her hair like this, so for somebody who's coming across black girl, curls inside it's like well, my hair you've never seen your hair wet. You never looked at it when it had shampoo and conditioner on it. Yeah take a mirror in the shower with you. If you can't see from your shower and see what your hair looks like with shampoo and conditioner, because if it looks like this, that's the curl we're capturing that same curl and the shampoo and the conditioner it's there. That'S what we're holding and that's what we're styling now our hair is like holding on to the shampoo it's like hold on for one more day and believe it or not, even though she used that coconut oil like her hair, is not i've seen voice, but she's. Also, not, of course not as close as me in the circus sexual area. Okay, now slice your hair again. How does that feel so good, just like it feels pretty so like when i put my hair when i used to put my hair in a ponytail. This is how it would feel okay at the top. Okay, like those ladies, like curl, okay, like after i took my silk scarf off and like laying it down, i was i just never was like. Oh, this is my natural. I know this is my hair. That'S my hair. I just thought like over here here would always get this when you laid it down. No, not everybody, and even if it did, everybody's pattern is different, so some people have tighter waves than others, so i don't need to really do any treatments, but i am adding a deep conditioner moisture deep conditioner, specifically it has a wee bit of protein, won't affect Her but she could use it because she's been wearing braids. I do feel a little bit of raised cuticle, but that's on that hair that is more coarse, meaning the smooth or sorry the hair that has the coarser surface texture. Today, i'm probably going to throw all the conditioner at your hair, that's what i normally do like all of it. Let'S just use all of the conditioners right now, i'm just adding conditioner. Yes, this is a second picture. Now. What i'm going to do is i'm going to add water to this we're using very concentrated conditioners. When you add water to it, it helps to distribute the conditioner through the hair. Let me see her now hold your hair up, so you can see how that's foaming up yeah. It should actually fine. You see that well, because you are condition there, so i'm adding water again, i'm not trying to rinse it out just trying to help distribute it through the hair and it's trickling out or not see how i got frothy here, yeah. Okay, then, what i'm going to have you do is sit all the way up. I'M going to move the camera for you guys, but hold on a second wipe my hands all the way back. I missed it all the way up. Thank there you go. I am going to grab a detangling brush. I am a fan of tangling brushes, especially for at home use just because our finger techniques can be ineffective, but we don't know how to do it properly. So start the ends mid to end and get through there, because i've been just hanging her hair, pretty much the whole time. It'S really not gon na. Take me any time. It'S 12 19.. I'M going to be done in 10 minutes, i'm going back through with my fingers kind of hope to mainly smooth down that cuticle, because it needs a little help. Look at this here, though, can you believe this wow try your head here for me: yep, i'm gon na go down down. You can hold your mirror brittany, so you can see what i'm doing, because you want to be able to do this at home on your own. I might finish before as well, though we'll say: 19. wow, that's just sitting there. She has a little bit of breakage. No big deal, that's nothing that a cut can't cure and we will probably be doing some growing out. So she probably she will be in a corrective cut for at least 12 to 24 months crack. The cut just means that we're gon na make a nice solid base area, whatever's happening in the middle, we'll. Let it catch up. Okay, a lot of times. You know some people are like, don't cut my hair off, so we go right in. I did the same thing because it was the area of my hair that broke off. I could have cut it. If i didn't want to so yeah you just correctly cut it. You'Ll go through some phases with it, but eventually you'll get to where you want to go just like destroyed my hair too. I won, i wasn't doing it right and then i put the blonde on it right. So i put blonde on here that you don't take care of just expect to not have no hair just expect not to be your hair goals right now, yeah. So i started at 12 19. I'M halfway done 12. 21. Again, taking me no time to detangle her hair hair's a lot longer for me to come through my hair yep, because i started in the shampoo. This is also helping to get out all the shed hairs again. She just came out of braids. She didn't do any treatments to their hair when it came out a braid. She just washed it and went on. Also the heat from her head is helping too it's like her hair. Her scalp is very, very warm yeah. Our hair is not complicated. It'S complete when we don't know we're. Doing i mean a changing. Oil on a car would be complicated because i don't know what the hell i'm doing. Your hair is the same way when you don't know what you're doing it you can over complicate a very simple process. The process of this is really easy. I want a bit brady to be able to like she feel like she want to do a blow out and be our hand streets. Just looking like a cloud of just hair. Go for it, but you got ta, have the hair in a condition to do that, and i'm still again using my fingers y'all see i'm using that to keep tension on the hair. Keep the hair from tangling up. You can look forward close your mirror up, how's that look to you still the same person same girl, different girls, i'm going back through with my fingers. A lot of people are always saying. Oh, the brush changes my curls when i get done detangling, i'm going back through with my fingers just to kind of smooth it out and help it to mainly have those cuticles smooth down. It is 12 24.. It took me five minutes at the same time. You'Re here five, some of y'all are doing it for 55. five and she has a lot of hair. She does i'm not doing any. I only think i'm doing the sections is detangling. I didn't shampoo in sections. Just went for the whole head put conditioner all over and worked my way through the sections and detangling. I honestly don't really have to cut a whole ton of hair either. Let'S see the cut already now we did not talk about cuts or anything because again, this is new for brittany and i don't want to overwhelm her today. But what i am going to do is give her a nice base shape, let her live with it and then i'll talk about it. Probably in about a yeah 12 to 16 weeks, okay, maybe 10.. How often should cuts yeah um for you? Probably it's going to be like a 12 week range because of like some of your hair is shorter in some areas so we'll be addressing is trying to connect stuff back together kind of because this part at the bottom. Here'S where i'm gon na have to do the most cutting down here, here's why so with curly hair the length actually lives on what we call the base the base lives about in this area. Here, okay, the hair down here so just think of your scalp as a triangle - or let's say i put a triangle on your head and the base of the triangle is here: okay, so the base of the triangle is here. The point, then, is where here, okay, so that's the base, as this starts to grow out, they'll eventually start to connect and then that triangle will start to move down, because your hair is three-dimensional, meaning it lives out in space. It doesn't live two-dimensionally. So we can't approach it in a two-dimensional manner, but having length down here, because then what ultimately happens is that you end up with two different haircuts long on the bottom short in the middle. What is that a malay? That'S not cute and as bougie as you are, that doesn't go with your life. It doesn't go with my vibe she's, very mushy, walking around with this frog. It'S like first of all, we're gon na have to match your your booziness to your hair. Let me get you up and get you up bring you in now. They really don't think that pierce is your child. Your hair is kind of like pierces, just coarser. His hair is so soft. Yes yeah, we don't have nobody. His hair is i'm just i'm so jealous of this little boy, i'm always like touching his hand like. Can i touch your hand he's not the ones he has right now. Those are all looking forward. So again, i'm using this time to help mangely smooth down that cuticle and also activate her natural curls, but she can kind of see right now. This is how your hair will actually lay curly, really yeah, and this part right here this is this gon na - be a challenge, but what i will do, i'm not going to like cut it in the same short, we're just going to address the ends and how It blends, but this part right here has to go because it's too long, yeah and i'll show you some images of haircuts yeah. You have the baby bottle right now, that's the baby bro! We want it to grow into a longer. It'S cute. It'S cute! You actually look good wow cute looks like a girl woman, fro, yeah uh. Well, actually, no you're, the first person to whose hair i've done since christmas. All right, i feel honored i had to do our hair before i came back. It just wouldn't have not been right here. So what do you think of what that's looking like yeah? I i love it. So this gives you an idea here in the conditioner like what it's going to look like when it's dry it'll look a little different because it won't be white, yeah, um, there'll be more water, so there'll be more. There will be more, hang, okay, um and you know it'll be more styled more polished. This is just the unpolished version of what it looks like y'all get y'all a look, see what she looks like from the front. That is what it looks like this is our air and the conditioner get the camera up. That'S her hair and the conditioner, because i also like. Oh, this is a lot, but that's what our hair looks like in the conditioner see that okay, so i got ta order, a softbox light. We have them in the basement when i do stuff at home when i'm not in the salon. Okay, so we're gon na, have you lay back in the boat slide back down? You didn't get wet on the back vision, i'm infamous for doing that. The moisture stuff is everything we just did cleanse condition, cleansing and conditioner is where moisture comes from. It'S not putting anything on well, i mean use a shampoo, of course, and use a conditioner, but that is that's the moisture. The moisture comes from this, the stream of water. When you're thirsty. What do you grab? You'Re not grabbing oil you're, not grabbing butter, maybe champagne, but water off your boozy. Like remember vicki's, said we drink champagne, thursday yeah, that is us, but water. So when the hair is uh cleansed of the dirt oil debris um and oil, the cuticle, the outer layer of the hair raises up. It looks like a shingle on a roof. It raises up and allows water to go in here. That'S how my hair gets hydrated. That'S how you get moisture what you're doing with oil is lubrication makes it easy for you to kind of sort of slide. Your fingers, through, while also melting, coconut oil, into your eye and burning it and messing up your eyelashes and makeup it uh gets gets. It only takes. I think it's what 67 degrees coconut oil can melt. I think it's 67, maybe 73, but that's all it takes for coconut oil to milk, 73 degrees and our body temperature is what 91 yeah you melted. The coconut well right into your eye. Yep. Thank you, um adorned by nicole helping you guys meet your real hair. It'S a first time experience for a lot of people when they meet their hair in the mirror. Like wait, what word you got ta be kidding me, so i am rinsing the conditioner all the way out: you're not losing an inch of conditioner on the air, taking it off all the way down, because brain has a lot of hair in the back too. Just make sure i might be able to run back a lot pressure before so her condition is completely rest from her hair. We are about to because we're doing a wash and go we're going right in with jail like a right hand. You'Re, probably wondering what's your user, i am using curly magic from uncle funkies. This is a gel. I gave you so at this point. I want you to hold your mirror up, so you can see what i'm doing. This is a gel i'm going to take my other hand and i'm going to do what we call emulsify the gel. In my hair i like to emulsify over my head just in case anything that's in my hand, flips out slips into the hair so get it nice and emotional, see i'm gon na start out by putting it on the ends of the hair. The ends see that now, because i'm working with you, this is the first time i'm gon na switch your hair down the middle and i'm going to start actually i'm starting this corner just so, you can see so again on the ends and then mid to ends With the uncle funky saturating the hair, you see how it looks now it has a gel on it. Uncle funky's is the aloe vera gel aloe is humectant, humectants are always looking for she's a plant girl. She knows oh yeah, because now it's hard to make sense. Sounding, like your hair, is a wood, a plant yeah, but you don't have to do you spray any of your plants. Oh yeah, so you do spray your plants, okay, we don't do just normal. We never spray out. That'S why we just said, but you see how this hair looks versus that yeah. You see that it's like it's triggering the pattern, because water is what creates definition without water. There'S no curl definition. You need the water to get the definition. No water, water, i'm pointing to my own hair. I have a blowout just in case you haven't seen me so typically, what i'm doing is. I do a whole half and i will put that product on the ends of the hair work it in and see that then i'll mix the ends right in here right there. Maybe the edges in there get the back, and you see all that right. That'S the outside, though, just let the hair open. You see how there's no product really on the roof. You see how there's no product on the loop. If i leave that, like that, it's going to do what your hair was doing before it's going to be no definition and it's going to throw out. So what we do is put the hair open swipe through, let's put the hair open, it's like another. It'S like now that's coverage from reaching in see oh okay and you can see the curls so swiping or splitting swipe split slide. So it's like over here like over there. So that's what i know i'm running around splitting and swiping, because i want to make sure that products are loose because we don't want to have puffy roots puppy roots. You won't have them now, because our hair is dehydrated. It might look a little frothy. You just need to add some water, like the gel, is just kind of like sitting on top yeah one is i got that fan on, so it's a little chill and these um this product is kind of temperamental with temperature. So if it's cold, where you're working at it'll start to like kind of like lock up and freeze up a bit, so we've got uncle cookies all over. This is what it should look like when the hair is completely saturated. You see that okay, now what i'm going to do is dip your hair back, i'm going to add water not to rinse it out, because i feel like you, slice water, so hold your mirror. So you can see what i'm doing it's going to be very warm! So if it's too high, let me know i'm since i'm trying to counter regular temperature in here. If you're in the shower you just dip your head under you see how heavy it is. You feel how heavy it is now, the first time you do it because again you're coming out of oils, it may take a long time to dry. Okay, as you keep your hair gets, the condition gets better it'll start taking less time to dry, not shorter, but just less see those curls. Now i'm adding another gel on top, because i am the queen of gels. This gel is also it came back in gel, but it's uh, it's going to add some weight. It'S going to help hold in that water that we just put on your hair, because you see how it's, starting now, hey, weigh down the crows with it, because this is your first time you're not used to having uh firm hair. Here you see your hair being kind of pliable yeah, i'm going to use a cream on top of this, but it's a cream that actually has hold. It lay backwards, at least a bit more blah blah. I don't normally, but sometimes some people need a little bit more water. It'S just the condition condition of the hair a little bit more right around this edge. Okay, you can stay all the way up, and what have you do? Is you can go back to the chair you're sitting in the original, bring the camera over there actually sit here for me. Yes, are you, okay, yeah, that first year, all right? But yes, i am using three products to do her wash and go yeah the lights better over here there we go, i'm using a different camera. Y'All so bear with me and also a different. Oh, that's a good! Have you right there, i'm going to put a little piece on top and the pieces of cream has a cream with actual holes? No, you cannot use this for a twist out. It'S got beeswax in it. It'S just. It doesn't work like that and this cream melt right into right into the wet products. So i'll put this cream on top it's going to melt into her hair and revise hold. It'S definitely going to help give her a more pliable, a softer finish because she's new to the game - and we want her to you - know, enjoy her first time. So now, what i'm doing is i'm going to use my fingers now for any instant. I see like there's some hair that just won't quite smooth out i'll bring in a tool, but i don't really feel like. I need it because i did a really good job of detangling, but it happens sometimes even when you tangle really really well. You still got your mirror, so all i'm doing is going through and breaking breaking yeah with my fingers. Your nails will help you out a lot using my fingernails really and if i get like a little tangle, i'm just going to take this with the hair part and go back in see that see alright and because i got all the water i needed. I don't need to add any more water while i'm doing this plenty of water on your product. So how do i refresh a throw he? What happens when you leave it compacted like that? You make it really. It gets really tangled just from living and breathing and moving around this should last you, let's start out with five days. Eventually you get to a place where your hair will make it seven days, it'll lose definition. You saw how my hair was, like definition of frizzy yeah it'll start to do that. I think your hair actually might last a whole second, but because you're it's it's dehydrated, it's not like deathly dehydrated. Usually people are really dehydrated. It'S like you see the definition. It'S like the definition like imagine a car trying to start it's just trying to get that engine going. It'S like that. So you see some definition and you see some frizz. You have a whole lot more definition than most people have uh, especially those who have been using oils. It'S the oils butters and then have a coarse hair that usually ends up being the issue before yeah. I'M going to grab this gel just a little bit more.

Mal Mal: It’s really important that this content is out here to help counteract the misinformation that’s so prevalent on YouTube. Thanks for posting this.

Mar L: Aishia, it was so generous of you to do this! Stylist, camerawoman, and teacher—all in one appointment. You must have been exhausted at the end! Thank you so much!!! ♥️

Joy Banks: Watching this video, I was finally able to achieve an amazing wash n go. I'm in the midst of the 30 day challenge and I'm loving it! My low porosity, course, medium density, waist length hair, wash day is now 1.5 hours from start to dry. Thank you!!!!

Ashley Jamerson - Real Estate Agent: In the bathroom crying…. I did this routine and my hair looks exactly how I wanted it to look for years (The black girl from The Craft). I am literally going to cancel my hair braiding appointment

Jai Sharp: Your time and attention to her hair is priceless

Elisa lopez-david: Wow that's exactly what I am a black Puerto Rican.I totally understand her confusion about her hair.Listening to you I am learning so much.I am natural since 2008 in the beginning my hair was easier to take care of but as the years have gone by it's more problematic. I am committed to wearing my hair natural for reasons that go beyond appearance. Will continue to watch you. Thank you

W: Please keep us posted on this client's progress. Interested in seeing further amazing results.

Patricia Ford: This was refreshing! Brittany's mindset was the most perfectly im- perfect for that moment in time! The progression is awesome! Ms A, this is the natural teaching style of you that started my understanding of my 'peach-fuzz" !! Thank you so much for your teachings of this semior...yes, new tricks can be taught to older dogs, as the saying goes...lol...prosperity! Health! Joy!

Christina Smith: Loved this. Her cut looks great and I learned a lot as I grow out my taper, I took in all the knowledge you dropped. I have some tight coils and once I get some length I am definitely going to try and get an appointment with you!

Lillie Smith: Just had a first appointment with Kinky Cut stylist and it was a very good experience. I appreciated the education most of all. My hair actually needed only to be shaped as it had been cut a month ago. I have yet to attempt my own wash n go but I am sure I can do it. Haircare made simple is the key to freeing myself from the ridiculousness of wash days.

Leonie Naudin: I started the detox today. I followed the steps, when I finished I was shocked and surprised how my hair was shiny and soft !!To each of you a big thank you. Though it was difficult to do the back of my hair I am very please.

Angela P.: Beautiful transformation! Her bone structure really shines with the fresh cut!

Georgia Peach: I am glad I found this channel. I have been natural since 2011, with my third big chop last year during the pandemic. Ever since then, I have exclusively been doing wash n gos with 4C hair before I even KNEW about this challenge and my hair has been thriving better than ever. All I do is wash, condition, leave in, gel (now I know it's a botanical gel lol). No oils or butters have touched my head. My hair is also bleached with no breakage. If you are having issues with hair hydration and tangles, try this method. It absolutely works.

The Curl Story: Fabulous! So helpful to see this process and transformation!

Nicole Osula: I’m really enjoy this video, thank you for sharing! Super excited to do the detox

Janice Coleman: You did an excellent job on her hair. The cut looks great.

Rabielle Parfait: Love this video! I still don't get why people associate hair with no curl pattern 4c. This 4c typing thing has become a trend. There are a lot of videos around where you obviously see the curls are very loose and it has nothing to do with 4c coils, but they would still claim 4c. For me 4c is just the smallest curl strand ever which can shrink up a lot when it's not styled with hold.

Monica Mitchell: I have detangling envy Lol .. I cant get under 40 minute. The gray hair has straight, wirey, coiled and wavy parts so it loves to wrap around itself.. her hair is beautiful. Loved watching this!

Jacqui KV: Wow!! Thank You so much for sharing your knowledge with us. I learned a lot about why my wash & gos fail and how to fix it.

Catina: I’ve been binge watching all of the videos and this is my favorite! I am watching it again

Brit JJ: 55:22 Chile I have not wrapped my head around that analogy and explanation I woulda sat in that chair nodding and agreeing knowing full well it’s gone over my head. I think I need to have an “aha” moment to get it but that’s why you excel at what you do. You are passionate about Afro textured curls and really understated the science and concept behind it.

rewghob: I have the E-book and this video is gold. I don't use anywhere near enough product nor do I patiently rake through the hair and make sure it is all covered. I am really excited to try this.

Marian J Cutts: Aishia great video. Would like to see more of you. I wore my hair honey blonde for many years. I finally decided to embrace my grey hair last year. It is a dark grey and I don't like it but I'm trying to live with it. Wish it was lighter. I'm wearing a TWA right now. Trying to figure out how to get it to curl or give it some definition without using a lot of product. Going to by Papaya slip today and try that.

Kristie C: Beautiful haircut Aishia! I have an appointment with a Cut it Kinky stylist next week!

Diana Hewlett: She is hilarious love it!!

Steph: I loved it turned out really good, great actually. Great Job Brittany was an ideal candidate to use for demonstration.

Mikaiah Brown: I appreciate this video so much. Stacking my coins so I can join the digital salon soon.

Robyn Taylor: That was great! Thank you, as always for sharing!!!

Queen Cornelia: Looks Beautiful ladies! I’m going to try this method

S W: Hi, I loved this video. I'm a new subbie. It was so helpful for new naturals like me who don't know how to care for their hair, lol I wished I lived nearby for you to do my hair. Which products did you use to get her definition? I can never get definition on my hair. It just goes back to a fro. Thanks again for the content and education. Look forward to seeing more ❤️

Rhonda Denis: That cut is everything. She looks gorgeous.

Elizabeth Levings: I'm amazed. I have type 4c too....I think, but I will be trying this process to pop my natural curls out!!! Product overload has been my failure!!!!

Here for It: I agree with the “throw the hair chart away” part.

I_am_christina: Found your video at 4 in the morning and 30 min in, I have subscribed. I can relate to her feelings about her hair.

Kathy MahoneStreet: Thanks for this video! I learned a lot of!

MJ Solomon: Adorable cut on her! She looks great!

Sweet Shay: Drying my hair outside during warm months definitely makes my hair healthier than using hair dryers. Thankfully I live in NC. In the winter I try to air dry and use dryer if I’m in a hurry

Monica Mitchell: I think I just realized that the cold bathroom could be part of why my hair locks up. I hadn’t thought about it until I just heard her mention how UFD doesn’t like cold during styling

Myesha: I am shocked at how immediate the transformation was from just the shampoo step.

J B: I hate raw butters and oils. I went from ear length to shoulder length (shrunken) in three years by using Curlsmith products, mostly wash n gos, and some twist outs. Stretched, I’m mid back length. And now my favorite cream in the world is from Skimdo.

mary edwards: You are doing a great cut when her hair grow out it’s going to be full and beautiful good job

josephine armstrong: wow your nanny /assistant s hair is now what we use to say oh she got good hair lol after you washed, thank you for leaving this up i will also watch a few more times. but i wanna buy the book

Emme W: Only 20 minutes in and I’m learning a lot . How to prevent a lot of shredding when washing your hair

Vanessa Thomas: So great!!!! She looks beautiful!

T Alexander: I love this video --- I have tried UFD so many times using lots of water and little to no water ---when I use UFD gel my hair is a sticky mess. So it must be me not the product.

sonyadenise74: Education and hair receipts.....that’s it for me!

AR: My hair loves coconut oil. I stopped using it for a while with the first wave of when everyone was saying coconut oil was bad then a few years later I started using it again and my hair felt so soft. However, I use it at most once a week not everyday like the client. I also am very liberal with putting high-water content products and humectants in my hair so maybe its about balance

Rea Vanterpool: I agree that many persons get obsessed with the hair typing system and may label their hair incorrectly (based on the system) because they are not taking care of their hair. However, this title is misleading knowing that persons with tighter curls, with more shrinkage than this client (even with proper care) will view and might be led to believe that this is what will happen with their hair. When she says ‘self professed 4C hair’, it makes it seem like nobody in the world actually has tight coils which we know is not true. I appreciate this video. I have come a long way with taking care of my hair and have been looking for how I can wear wash n go’s and other loose styles more often. I know I need to improve my washing, I definitely need to take more time on that step.

itskree83: I used the UFD and Mousse Def and this is the only time I got 2nd day definition. Oh I should add that I used White Rain hair spray for hold. It worked

: Hi! Just saw this video. I think this is great information. However, I am hesitant to consider the lady in the video as having 4c hair. I have 4c hair myself, and I have definition in my coils but they are MUCH smaller than the coils the lady has. Just because the hair doesn't have definition when wet doesn't mean it's 4c. 4c hair is literally tiny coils the size of the spring in a ballpoint pen. Hope that clarifies

LewLew: This was super educational !!! What do you recommend for people who work out often ? Where it out or put it up ?

A Sulli: I love your laugh! Lol makes me feel like we’re cousins ha ha

Ossie R: Love the haircut, very cute.

Michele A: Ughhhhh…all these girls that think they have coils 4C hair but don’t. My hair COILS, ZIGZAGS and SNAPS BACK. I hate it when people say that 4c doesn’t exist, it makes me feel so unseen.

Adia Hunt: Do you have any advice for a 4a hair type? I’m struggling with single strand knots and thinning edges. I’m going to try the same method you you here. Wish me luck!

SHEILA ELLIOTT: Awsome video. I live in VA. I believe that I have 4Z hair...off the charts. BUT, I do see some semblance of a curl pattern when wet. Once dry...it is on. What is your product list? I would like to try one more time before going back to a press & curl. Thanks so much.

mary edwards: It takes me about 6hrs to do my hair at home I don’t go Thur al that I comb my hair you all go through all that I am from old school Always had hair I got hair to share with other people thank you

Victoria A: Her haircut is so awesome… wow

christine1962ful: What was the topper gel used and the cream with beeswax ingredient? I would love to know! Love beeswax in hair paints because it helps definition and gives a good hold!

Jasmine S.: I feel like im one of the few that doesn’t see major success with this method and ive been doing it over a year I have hair similar to the client in the video but probably even more shrunken and tight. And whenever i do it, the detangle is impossible. And i can get a similar look like the ladys in the video for day 1 but by the next day my hair is reverting tangling on itself and fighting between being a bob and being back up into a fro I feel like if my curl was looser it’d be easier to do with my hands but im not a professional so as a civilian its difficult for me to do myself

Doniesha Young: In preparation for a visit, how do you feel about bentonite clay masks for clarifying? Does it have a place in our hair regimen?

Healthoverlength: Love it!

Colorfully: undefined fros are not 'unprofessional', other than that... great info

nykka3: Long video but I learned so much!

Zandraj: The old pulling/tearing detangling method has no place in today's knowledgeable "stylist" arsenal. Not only is it painful, it also causes more damage to the hair.

sunnc: What product do you use for braids? I use foam for twist outs should I also use it for knotless braids or use no product?

Cats & Nana: i every one. For me it is the same process of the max hydration method with out natural products. I do use to do all this steps, but because i do not like gel, i prefer use a styling cream and i don't put any butter or oil on top of this. I don't mind having oil in the 5 first ingredients of my products because my high porosity hair need to be fill in. In my opinion, the keys are a good cleansing and a good manipulation to define the curls. Yes, the gel helps to keep the hold of the curls but my experience show me that the more you do the same routine, the more the curls take the hold. It is the natural and the real advantage of the afro type which take the hold of any shape. No offense, i really like the wash and go routine, but in my opinion it's another way to prove that afro hair have curl pattern. And all these step can be done with natural products.

Lisa Jones: So Beautiful!!☺

Delores Robinson: I thought I had 4c my hair is like your client. I’m going to wash my hair and do like I saw you do. Thank you…I will no come my hair.

Makayla Adams: Alright now I need to come in so you can teach me how to take care of my short 4c hair since I've cut it

Laya Moore: I was paying attention. But Aishia is soooo beautiful I kept losing focus

Rachelle Newton: This was a great video

TLV Lav: Thanks for sharing!!

Shari-Lee Davis: I can’t seem to grasp the difference between humectant and anti humectant. I looked the ingredients of the papaya slip and I saw glycerin as the 2nd ingredient so I was sort of confused as what actually makes a gel anti humectant

Fiona M: Wow, she is even sitting differently at the end!

Dominique reece: What do you do with your hait at nights? And how do you refresh in the morning? Do you workout? How do you maintain ur hair after working out Im 4c i need help..never done a wash and go in my life...im always doing braid outs but i have alott of frizz

animekiller220: Thank you for sharing, God bless

Susi M Wolfe: Can anyone tell me what products were used and also how to get her ebook? I have the exact same hair as this girl but I wear it with the same no shape afro that she started with. I need to do this.

Brit JJ: 1:05:03 hmm I actually sometimes spray my hair with water in a spray bottle on day 3 of my wash and go to reactivate my gel cast

Figuring The Cost: I’m not understanding the resource name that you’re mentioning. Can you include a link in the description box? I enjoyed the video and would like to research more about technique and products I need on my fine gray strands for moisture, length retention and to try wash n go style from time to time in the warmer months. I mostly use protective styles with my own hair just because I like my hair up. I live in California so have struggled with growth and moisture retention

union23mom: When will the book be available for sale.

Heiwani: I’d be interested in your community and learning package but so far all I’ve seen are product recommendations with essential oils and fragrance. Some people have allergies and scalp conditions that mean they can’t use products with fragrance/essential oils and too many fatty alcohols. Does your catalogue of videos and advice allows for that?

Beulah Andoh: pls i’m not from chicago but i will literally fly there to have u do my hair

LaTonya: This question is EXTREMELY LATE but, does this same process apply to naturally high porosity hair? I'm asking because I honestly can't imagine my hair surviving this no raw oils or butters process.

Michalovesanime: I wish I could actually do this but I'm not American, I'm from the Netherlands ... I can't get the products, and I can't visit a salon. I'm so tired of not having ANYWHERE I can do my hair.. Curly hair girls have stuff here, and a lot of times they( salons) want my money while not knowing how to actually deal with it...

Jai Sharp: Gorgeous

R J: What’s the name of that detangling brush? Need! Also, what shampoo/conditioner did she use?

Miss Sanders: Does anyone know what clarifying shampoo she used at the beginning?

Bluebuzz30: Beautiful

Ama Spiritartist: Can you get the same results potentially with a plastic cap dryer?

mary edwards: I blow dry once a month most of the time I let it air dry put on a wig go to work

Cassy Williams: I'm in Chicago and would love an appointment

Mooncyn117: This video is Church for hair... amen

Here for It: @1:35:00 she said “Long hair and then what? It’s long, and then what?” What does that even mean? The same can be said about short hair, bobbed hair, or bra-strap-length hair. The “Then what?” is that it’s what the person wants. There’s nothing wrong with that. Having or being on the journey to long hair and “having fun with your hair” are not mutually exclusive.

mary edwards: I got corse hair love ❤️ my hair I cut my hair and go to hair dresser I am 71 yrs old I got my gray salt pepper hair ❤️ it

union23mom: Will you be offering the hair course again?

Gwen Adams: I love it

ODY: Does anyone know why I don’t have a curl pattern after I wash my hair? I only have it when I add gel :/ and what should I do?

Yvonne Murphy: a WHOLE new woman! yes, indeed, it WAS a Flo (damn Damn DAMN)

Caroline Alexander: What was the second styler that was used? The cap fell at the time you said it
