Hi guys thank you for coming back to my channel, so many of you have messaged me and one or two, you left a comment on the last video that I posted asking me to give you an update on how my hair is doing so. This is what this video is going to be all about so stay tuned. Before I delve into the content of this video first, I would like to apologize that I've been away for so long. There'S been changes that has happening to my life and they're. More changes, as you can see my face has gotten wider. My body's gotten bigger my weight is good enough, but very soon is going to be operation lose weight, so I should be getting, but I hope to get back to my old way so without further ado, let's get on with the contents of this video because after All I think, that's why you clicked on this video right about his few months. I have had a love and hate relationship with my hair, so I did continue doing the hot oil treatment on a weekly basis during wash day, and then I would put my hair in a protective flat twist style. Doing the flat twist was a big achievement because to be able to do any style, this one here at all was a miracle prior to doing the hot oil treatment. My hair was stiff, it refused to stretch, and it was just really difficult to style. So I would do the African threading method and when I would unravel the thread, my hair would be here and then within. Second, it would just start to call your back towards my scalp and it just had this dull look to it and, let's not forget it, she brought texture. In fact, my hair just looks like I had a clump of hair sitting on hey, even simple things such as holding my hair back in a ponytail was difficult, because strands of my hair will just pull away from the hair bag and give my hair fly away. Hey so the hot oil treatments definitely eradicated the issues, or at least it managed it. I mentioned I was washing my hair incorrectly and that my hair felt like fabric literally guys. I am not exaggerating so if you grab hold of a piece of clothing that you were wearing that what you are feeling right. There is exactly how my hair felt, but I'm happy to say the hot oil treatment corrected that, because, even when I started having the challenges again, that fabric feel texture never came back. I don't really know what the cause was. All I have is my favorite, so I do think that's. My setback was due to incorrect use of my hair products. If you have any other ideas, please let me know just leave a comment. Help me out please. I do have another favor for what I was facing. The issue that I was facing and the same theory that I have I didn't notice it was come. It was them posted in the comments of that video. Now I don't know whether I thought of this baby myself, independence of those comments or without those comments triggered it for me, so that second theory is that I think I had protein overload the I do actually generally think that I have protein sensitive hair anyway. So the changes that I have made based on those theories is that I use my plating shampoo when I need to use it, so I don't abuse it anymore. It'S just such a shame that it took me happy to go through the situation that I went through to change my era, in fact. Listen, I knew what I was doing was wrong and I carried on anyway. I don't know why. So if you are watching this video - and you know things that you shouldn't be doing - please learn for my mistakes and my advice. You would be stop it. Okay right, so I was saying the changes that I've made. I use. I just use moisturizing shampoo and once a month, if I have used a lot of products on my hair, then I will clarify my hair or I will use the chelating shampoo. If I haven't used a lot of product on my head - and I just wash with with the moisturizing shampoo, but by the way guys, I have cut my hair. I know you've seen that I will talk about this in a minute, so the shampoo that I'm using at the moment is all brute organics there's not like special reason. Why I'm using this particular brand other than the fact that when I first started learning about taking care of my natural hair, that was the shampoo that I started with. So I just wanted to go back to basic. Does that make sense, and in regards to be thinking, my hair is protein sensitive? I don't use products with protein in there and if I can't find any products without protein, then I use products that has protein like to lose the end. So that is less of it all. I continued with the hot oil treatment the breakage stopped and my hair actually started to grow. My hand went back to the length that it was before I cut it, and I was able to do more styles in my head. So like this hairstyle that you're seeing right now is too flat means just going back. I was also able to do twist outs and start with my twist downs and things like mold Walker, just loads and lots of different styles. I don't have many pictures, I'm afraid to show you other than what I'm showing you right now and also I did a bank to knot out this particular picture that you are seeing now. My bantu knot house was during the time when I stopped doing the hot oil treatment, and so here my hair started to revert back to the issue that I was actually facing. So while I was looking into prompting sensitive hey, the article mentioned that protein overload is really hard to correct, so the treatment is something that you have to continuously keep on. Doing I mean you have to do treatment to your hair anyway, but sometimes it would take a long time for the issue to correct. I decided I was going to stop doing the hot oil treatment just to see whether the hot oil treatments really did help me out. So I stopped doing the hot oil treatment and my hair started to revert back to that mess of it issued. I was having my hair go frizzy again and it just wasn't really responding very well to Styles, but it wasn't as bad as before. It'S because I was still able to tie my hair back and kind of look this and the kind of I say kind of because yeah, my hair was a mess, my head unkept and in fact someone is like my day and there were there exact. What was that? My hair? Look, and you know they weren't lying, because it really did. It was terrible. So all the months of not doing the hot oil treatment, I went back and did the hot oil treatment and then guess what it fixed. My hair not fix it. I think the hot oil treatment was just managing the situation, so I don't think my head never really ever went resolved. If you have long, hair and you're facing the same type of issue, just keep doing the treatments, if it's managing it and you're happy like that, and that's fine and it could even also just correct it, which is even better. But as for me, I just can't be bothered. I cannot be bothered. I rather just cut my hair and start again because my thing is: if my hair is long, but it's not healthy, I don't see the point. I'D rather have my hair short and healthy, then to have my hair long and unhealthy. I do like short hair anyway right now, I'm just happy that when I wake up, but I have to do anything to my hair, so I like that freedom, you know I just I just love that so guys. Thank you very much for tuning in to my channel and if you stayed with me from this starts of this vid, you know up until now. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you listening. Thank you for listening to me. Thank you very much and I hope to see you again on my next video you

Jordana Afonso: Hello guys! Thank you for stopping by :-). If you've done hot oil treatment, comment and let me know how it worked for you

Amanda O.: I did the float test and thought I was low porosity for years. But my hair had characteristics of high. Since I switched to high porosity hair techniques my hair has gotten better. I would definitely research low med and high porosity hair traits to see which one your hair REALLY falls under. 1 quick test, after wash day if your hair takes a long time to dry without product it’s more low porosity if it dries quickly (less than 10 mins or so) it’s more high porosity. Btw you look lovely with short hair and Iwish you the best on your journey!

Bee-me: Hair porosity Jordana is what you need to look at when dealing with your hair. How it reacts to hot and cold and what climate you live in as well. I have low porosity hair which means the follicles open by heat and warmth. If I added product I have to either massage the product into my hair, stimulating my scalp, use a plastic bag to trap natural heat and allow it to penetrate my scalp that way or use a dryer of some sort. I also use a deep conditioning treatment on my hair weekly. Most black women have hair that is full of protein so if we use a product with protein it has to be a low weight protein. If I add products without stimulating the scalp follicles it will just sit up on my head. To make my hair soft and healthy I use olive oil because it works best for my hair. I also have one butter product. As I am and I actually mixed in the olive oil with it. I use it to oil my scalp. I also use a lot of water. I don't want my hair just soft but healthy as well. My hair will never be as soft as those with looser curls because I live in a very cold climate and it affects my hair. When I lived in Arizona my hair was always soft and grew very well with no problems because the climate suited me better. However until I figure out how to keep my hair soft in a cold climate my follicles will protect themselves by drawing up. Hair is like a flower. Depending on the season it either open or close.

Bee-me: You look awesome with your hair though. Good luck on your hair journey. Also everything I told you I learned this winter through research. I had to know what outside factors we're influincing my hair and why I had gone from a head full of hair when. I got here to a tiny fro. Now I know what to do to strengthen my hair and grow it back.

Karlisa: Very informative! Thank you for sharing love❤

p4phenomenal: I'm loving the hair cut. Do you plan on keeping it short or growing it out?

Uduak Nkanga: I just love the whole look

Annette Anne: Kool happy to have come across your channel, looking forward to more content! i need to loose weight too! x

Consciously Natural: OMG you look lovely. I’m in shock though, but you still look lovely. Good luck with however you decide to proceed with your hair journey. Love it that I have another UK natural hair YouTuber to follow.

kalena Glory: You look so beautiful! Your hair is gorgeous! Good to see you back! Did you figure out the cause of the damage? Okay, I see your theory.

kalena Glory: Hope you’re doing well. ❤️

maria D: Awesome and looking great

kalena Glory: My son grows his hair out, he was using Jamaican black castor oil shampoo and conditioner constantly as it worked wonders for his flaky scalp however he got protein overload! So after months of protein free products his hair was fine. He noticed that his hair was breaking again after awhile without protein so he used a light protein deep conditioner with amazing results. Conclusion... His hair needs some protein occasionally maybe once a month maybe.

Anna Nexton: I know exactly what you mean when you say it’s a straw texture! That’s exactly how mine is and I don’t even know how to correct it anymore

Tam Kam: I have been wanting to give hot oil treatments a try

Sarai: Finally here‍♀️‍♀️
