Thanks for watching! See you next Sunday. xxx

Good morning, my lovelies, how are you this morning? Okay, do you hear that noise? That'S? Why we're down here guys ignore that? Do not look at that you're, not seeing that that's, not Christmas decorations and that's not a chair I'll, explain that later, but first, the noise, because I started to film an update for there on our hair - and I said: do you know what I think they're gon Na be able to hear our pet, so I thought let me come down grab a cup of tea because I procrastinate so I thought you know what and we bring them downstairs, so they can pass to mate with me and introduce them to our new pet. Ok, ok, guys jokes or joking aside. If you have dark wood floors, get you one of those or something similar enough of all that is so noisy down here, oh yeah, I want to explain what you're not seeing at the tree, which is all lit crazy, because I'm filming on my phone again sorry Guys, I'm gon na get a new camera, but for now look improve it. The I started to take anyway, I'm not gon na subject you to this noise any further happy Sunday, I'm trash pop. No! No! This is going up on Sunday, so happy Sunday, guys all right. Let'S get to the nitty-gritty, quick video on how I believe anybody - and I mean I don't care type for abcdefgh. You can grow your hair as long as you want to. If you just do three things, keep these three things in mind. There are three enemies of program. If you can manage these three things, I'm telling you you're going to be so happy. That'S if you want to grow hair, you know what you may not care. You may be happy with the length you have cuz. You know what mohair mo problems. You know the longer you hair. Yes, you know it's more work, so you may not be like you know what I don't care, I'm not trying to grow. My hair. The longer your hair gets you're going to have to tweak your routine. What I did worked for us. You know the African, French and doing their hair every week or every other week, washing it every week or every couple of weeks was working perfectly fantastic gorgeous comp. Our shoulder length forget about it. It was not working so enemy number one. Its handling detangling is the bane of my existence, eliminating that has been her a godsend and taken hours of our hair, routine everybody's hair grows. We understand that the way you retain length is to make sure your ends do not break or fall off. How do we eliminate detangling by keeping our hair stretched a hundred percent of the time? I have not let their hair just be free like that for a good couple of years. How do we keep it stretched? We keep there hair in twists all the time we keep it in twist to wash it. We keep it in twist to dry it. We keep it in twist, just before I pressed it. We keep it in twist, but I'm doing it. It is always in twist not just any twist rope twist girl, keep them hair twisted and tied up and secured and locked and stretched eyes. I'Ll. Tell you what that what that looks like in a hair routine at at the end of the video, but right now, let me just get through the three things and then I'll explain what that looks like when I do it on our hair. Okay. Second, any of your progress dryness: we have to keep our hair moisturize because sebum the curly or your hair, the more difficult it is for sebum to travel down your hair and coat it and protect it. So because of that, we need to use leave-in conditioners oils. Whatever it is, you use to keep our hair moisturized first tip guys, oils and butters do not do not moisturize our hair. Do not moisturize our hair, they see in moisture. So what is moisture moisture is water if you ultimate moisturizer the ultimate, so anything that has water in it be that aloe vera juice, a leaving conditioner, where the first ingredient is water, that moisturizes your hair, the water in those things moisturize your hair, moisturize, your hair With some type of ingredient that contains water, and then you use your oils and butters to form a barrier to lock in that moisture. How do we avoid dryness? One? It'S in twist right there go that just locking in the moisture it's a protective style. Okay, two things I use leave-in conditioners. You know I mix and match all around. I like to use aloe vera juice, because it's slightly more acidic, which combats the water, which is slightly more alkaline and guys. I discovered castor oil. It looks moist in for literally weeks, aloe vera juice, a leave-in conditioner, castor oil and I'll use some shea butter or shea butter mix at the ends of our hair, and you know sometimes down the shaft to just wrap it all the way up. So those are the things we use to keep moisture in there dead and final enemy of progress. Let me tell you: hey: Manny pollution manipulation playing around with your hair, taking it down doing it, a different song if you're doing protective styles, that's well and dandy, but if you're taking the protective side down every day or every couple of days or every week, you Are still manipulating your hair and those little delicate ends are gon na snap off that tiny quarter of an inch you GRU is gon na snap off. You may have to detangle again it's just it's just a lot. You can manipulate your hair when it's in twists is that what they say stronger together when all your single strands of hair are bound together, you get away with more in terms of manipulation because they're bound together, so you can put your hair up and put it Down and and do bantu knots or a bantu knot out or a twist out or a braid out. I do all those things in their hair, but while they're I feel in twists - and it just keeps the end bunched together and protected - Oh moisturize, so there's no manipulation. So those are the three things some people would add in their heat, and I would say to that. I don't believe like moderate heat like a warm or cool warm blow-dry involve itself is a bad thing, because I know where youtubers, who grew really long, hair and blow-dried their hair, but they would. They would only do it like once a month or you know, there's not something they would do all the time and I believe that it's the manipulation and the detangling that adds to the breakage of when you're, trying to blow-dry your hair, so yeah. So those are the three things: guised detangling, Shriners and population. If you can get rid of those hey, I'm telling you you're good you're golden guys. What does that look like how about you? Keep your hair and twist all the time like when you're washing it huh? You serious like how can you wash your hair? Probably we need some twist like how does that even work? Okay, guys, let me break it down. I will rope twist their hair in I'd, say: one-inch sections. We don't do many twists anymore mmm, because that's a lot of manipulations trying to get them out around one-inch boxes with their own hair, no extension, nothing. I would do a rope twist. A row twist is where you braid clockwise. If you're braiding clockwise you twist the hair anti-clockwise as you twist or vice-versa, and it's as the name suggests, it makes your hair like a rope and it keeps your hair stretch and pulls it easier to take down. So there's lifts manipulation in taking out that's. Why don't do three pros? They wear their hair in row twist for four week and during those four weeks they will wash their hair two times, maybe three just depending on it the knees they will use a conditioning wash not a shampoo and the reason why we don't shampoo in between the Monthly shampoo is because it's difficult, then, while the hairs in twist to get the moisture back in on every single strand, because it's already twisted up at the end of four weeks, they will probably do some type of pre-poo, which is a conditioning treatment before you shampoo. Your hair and then wash their hair with some type of clarifying shampoo and then it's clean. So now people like well, you know sometimes you'll get the lint in your hair. That is true, especially my youngest she's good, for rolling around in the rug and the carpet where we've got lint and everything, and I used to think oh gosh, the hairs not getting clean but guys lint in your hair is not a problem. It'S not dirt. The shampoo takes care of all the excess dirt and oils that easily runs through your hair, because, if you think about it, when you wash your clothes, they're clean correct that you put it in the tumble dryer and if you take out the lint thing. There'S all this lint, all the lint is clean, it's just there, okay, so that's how I look at it with the hair it's clean. It just has fibers that I will. As I take out the hair, I will remove moving on to the next phase. I will not undo all their twists at once, no way, absolutely not so they've washed their hair. I will spray it with aloe vera juice, first to kind of bring the pH back to where it needs to be. Then I will put the leave-in conditioner on and the reason I'm doing, that is to lock in the moisture as I do their hair, so it doesn't dry out as I'm braiding their hair, so we will put it a leave-in conditioner. All the way through. I may put a little oil just to lock in the moisture put it in a bun and work a row at a time. Untwist one braid, okay, pull out this shirt hairs. This is what our version of this handle is, which it isn't, because it's never tangled. It'S never knotted, because it's been in road twists, it's been locked up, I haven't allowed it to get out and be free and start mingling with its co-workers or friends, and no no we're not doing that. We'Re not doing that anymore. I will coat it with castor oil and then I will get my shea butter mix and then focus mainly on the end. And then I will rope twist that baby right back up and that's it guys, and I literally do that from breda brighter braids. So yeah guys, that's basically it and that's how their hair has retained length. I will come back and show you the different stars. I do because we've had to get creative. I still African thread by African thread their twist, my daughter, my oldest. She wants to try crochet braids, so I'm going to do that and that may be the next video or the video after, and I am going to African thread her twist to keep her hair out of the way and then add the crochets on to that. We just treat our twists like they are freeform hair, like your hair, is just single strands so guys. I hope that helped. I don't sitting I'm trying to remember if I've, given you all the information, I hope you found this helpful anything that was unclear. Please leave a question and before next Sunday's video I would do a Q & A let me say I think Wednesday, because that shouldn't be too difficult to film a Q & A that's quite simple, on any questions you have anything I can clarify and yeah guys Take care, god bless and I'll, see you next Sunday bye, bye,

L H: 2:44 Eliminate detangling (keep hair stretched with rope twists, threading) Eliminate dryness (oils and butters do not moisturize, use water!, aloe vera juice, leave in conditioner, castor oil, shea butter) Eliminate manipulation (only manipulate when in twists, do all styles while in twists, heat is ok just not too much)

KnL9713: 4. Having a mom who gives a lot of love to your hair

Lola A: I did this exact method for 2 months and my hair grew 4 inches

Keyara Edwards: I appreciate this simplified version, I've watch so many videos and this was so truthful and helpful.

Princess: I’m currently doing the 6 Month Mini Twists Challenge and I’m on month 2 almost and I love it so much. Such an easy style and so cute and many ways to style my hair while keeping it protected I use water (very warm water) and Shea butter and oil and my hair is almost armpit length and my hair hasn’t needed to be remoisturized for a whole 6 days!!! YES, 6 DAYS!!

Ms.Catalina: This makes so much sense. My daughters 4c thick hair is growing due to protective styling, but it's always been the take down, washing and detangling that's been the issue. She cries, I sweat. keeping it rope twited is going to save both of us! Thank you so much! ❤

Naturally Chilled: You just described my entire routine and method all the way down to the T! I can't wait to show ppl this video!!

Suzie Q: Love it; that's exactly how I grew my little girls' hair to their waists!

chaaaaan: Can't go wrong with a good brew and hair routine

Sarah Mount Elewononi: So thankful for you! I would love to see video of what you describe here- especially the rope twists. You have been my best teacher so far. I’m white and my African husband and we have two daughters who are now 10 and almost 9. I struggle with adding their hair evenly into the braids along their heads. I usually finish some inches sooner that I want. Also would like more help understanding different products. I’ve bought a lot of Cantu (shampoos and conditioner I understand) and wonder when and how to use coil calm, curl activator, shine and hold mist and edge stay gel. Someone gave me some Indian hemp hair and scalp treatment, and some curling gel soufflé. What do I do with these? Also my older wants to take care of her hair herself. More tips about how to help her would be great! Glad you are back!

DRMariposa82: Great to have you back! My question is how do you keep the twists looking "neat" for a month when styling and washing without redoing the braids? I have a hard time keeping the twists in my 8 yo hair for a week.

Faith Bank: I've just realized the major enemy of my progress. Hairdressers! I'll be doing the most taking care of my hair, and my hairdresser just snatches off the inches I struggled to grow. No wonder I've been at the same length for a while. Currently looking into learning to style my short hair myself.

Victoria Padin: I don't have a great relationship with my mom so this is golden. Personal care does miracles for me. Thank you!!

ugtkonation: Loved your presentation. I mulling over the details in my mind, and out makes perfect sense. Last month I went from once a month shampoos to weekly, and I’m weary from finding the hair balls all over the place from my ends. I realize less manipulation and moisture is the key.

NaturallyNia: I was about to get a perm before I found your channel 4c hair ain’t no joke but you and your girls give me hope!

Vanessa I: Video starts at 1:59 thanks for the tips

being1me: This was SO timely and helpful! My daughter and I will be getting hair cuts then beginning this routine!

DW: This method seems like growing and maintaining Locs without the actual commitment of confined Locs, but rather the benefits of lose longer natural hair... hum. Thanks for sharing! I will definitely being trying these tips.

Madonna Alade: I'm a hair person and your strategy is just crystal. how didn't I think of this sooner? Genius. But I also saw you were talking about threading before you graduated. Can you do a video on how to evolve a regime as the hair grows from twa to waist length? Most appreciated

Mary RW: You know EXACTLY what you are talking about!! I needed a routine that uses LESS TIME!!! My daughters and I ...dryness...too much time...etc.

Prophetess Lady Of Wisdom: I agree 100%. My hair previously broken off in 2018. Unfortunately, I had to big chop my hair above my ears 12/2018. Now, almost mid back. My hair is always in mini braids underneath my wigs. Yup, I also moisturize, shampoo, deep condition while in braids. I retained length quickly doing this. Oh, your hair is gorgeous. ❤

Nikki Franklin: Don’t be embarrassed girl, we just took our tree down two hours ago! LOL I’m happy to see a new video from you!!!

Mel T: This is my first time watching your video and I love your energy. I think this will be my new hair routine. Thank you

FR33 ur MIND: I am definitely going to try this! I've never heard of rope twists . I've been putting my hair in 2 strands for the past year and I've had some set backs with my length and never knew why-it was in a protective style for goodness sake....but now I understand and will switch it up to this routine to see if I can get some results. Thank you!

Jessica Jenice: This is so helpful..... This process is what I do with my daughter and I couldn't find a way to explain it to people lol

Makairin Ervin: I really appreciate your tips. I feel like I’ve got a lot more information out of your video than a lot of people in herethank you

Unconditional Grace: Thank you for this information on natural hair care, very helpful! ❣

Fit Mom BW: I do the same thing with my daughter wash in twists deep condition in twists and retwists one twist at a time.....our hair has grown so much..

Amy J Browne: Nadine!!! Oh my gosh I’ve missed you. I now have 2 little girls and I watch your videos for my oldest. I do a similar routine but I keep her hair in cornrows. It works and she went from being bald headed to now her hair is past her shoulders at 2 years old. Anyway great to see you back and looking forward to more of your videos.

D H: I am definitely looking forward to the crochet braids tutorial. I have been wanting to do those for some time now.

Natalie Pennicooke: I agree with everything you’ve said, this is how I do my twins hair and it saves me time money and reduces my stress levels

JMarie Naturally: Hey there! So good to see you all again I hope you all have been well. Great video very well explained I have been loving my twist also for almost 6 months now using a similar routine.Cant wait for the crochet style video. (What Christmas tree?)

God&Jesus1st: This is the best video I’ve watched so far. So easy to follow

MAZZ Naturals: Great to see you back Nadine on a regular upload schedule . I’ve been subscribed to you for a while since your babies were little. Gosh I can’t believe how much they have grown so beautiful and their hair. I’ve always been interested in how you care for loose natural hair. I get good tips for both my daughters who are loose naturals. Really appreciate your simplicity delivering this content Thank you so much! But hold on on a serious note how comes your looking younger as your children are growing older!!! you go girl!!!

landalondon: Welcome back! So happy your uploading again, Thanks so much for breaking it down and giving a detailed routine! Few questions:How often do you moisturize their hair in between washing? Also your cowashing their hair once a week correct? Finally can you share what you do to their hair after the cowashing routine(stretching, styling, etc)

S P: I see oil and butters as lubrication for the hair. Keeping my hair in twist constantly is boring but I received maximum retention. All your tips are 100% correct. I see people take out box braids and comb all together on 4C hair that’s just asking for breakage. I take my braids down one by one gently derange exactly how you suggested this reduces/eliminates breakage.

Sucha ClassyLady: I did this same routine, except with S-Curl activator and castor oil. I get it pressed 2X -3X per year for a good trim and length check, then it’s back up in sistertwists for another few months. My 9 year old has thick, waist-length Type 4 hair.

PaTriciaMarya: I hear and thank you for pointing these “enemies” out! I will start to pay closer attention to how I approach each of them. But Girl, let me tell you that Enemy #1 is Manipulation for me and mastering it would mean MBL. I am adapting your solution immediately to defeat this enemy! Yaasss, I feel a hair happy dance coming!! Tfs & See U soon...

TheTwinkleGG: A how to rope twist tutorial would be very much appreciated.

treasure afolabi: I have missed how you always keep it simple and you and your girls have amazing hair. Please do a whole routine at some point, i will really appreciate it because am trying to keep my toddler girl hair healthy and grow it at d same time. Sometimes it get a little overwhelming because i can't canerow and cant do all these wonderful styles i see on other kids but i really will like to see how you rope twist. Do you do d aloe vera juice, leave in conditioner and oil in a spray bottle?

Jobeefit: Hey Nadine, happy to see you back ! Love your personality

DivaEagle77: Thank you! This was so helpful!

ndzalln: Hey Nadine (my name sake!) thanks for such a clear & informative vid. definitely will incorporate eliminating those enemies this year! Nice to c your girls growing up well & their hair thriving! looking forward to next vid...also any views/tips on using box braid extensions to minimise the enemies?

victoria ogunmowo: Very detailed new subbie I wish i’d discovered your channel sooner

kymea: I love your humor and editing! You’re awesome, new subscriber:)

Rochelle_Lovelle: I'm really excited to try this because everything I do currently to my hair causes it to break. It also sheds like crazy. Thanks for this.

Papi Love: Just started 2 strand twisting my granddaughter hair and it is growing.

MrsLilLady86: THANK YOU THANK YOU!! As a mom, I have less time to do my hair. Do you think it would be bad split the routine over 2 days? Like, day 1 wash and moisturize...day 2 redo twists?

Treasure Bammeke: New subbie! Already love your energy

Grace Alla: Hi, thank you for all your advices. But I have a question during the month, after doing the co-wash, what you put on the hairs to keep it moisturize ?

Anna Nat: Thanks for the tips!

crysberries: Nadine!!!! I’m happy to even see you once a week!! You’re so pleasant and videos are so simple to follow. Thanks for sharing and welcome back! House looks beautiful btw!

Indigenous Queen: THANK YOU SIS! IM DEFINITELY TRYING THIS ASAP

tammy stewart: This is the reason why I love your channel. You are very informative on hair care.

B. Frederick: Thanks so much for the new video! It was very informative. I have type 4 hair but it's fine. Do you recommend this technique for naturals with fine hair?

Batgirl P: How do you keep the ends from knotting? That's what caused my growth plateau.

Tamara Edwards: I appreciate your perspective. Your routine is really good. I’m going to try it. Thanks

Syl Armah: This is so true. That’s why my kids hair keeps growing. Their hair does not get left out much if at all. Good tips. Nice and straight forward tips. Can you share your Shea butter mix please?

Scented Candles by Aiyana: Thanks for sharing really appreciate this, yes very helpful dryness is a problem with my daughter so thank you again.

Laverne Ogieste: Best explanation on YouTube for true 4C hair. Thxs for Sharing!

BaekhyunFanEndedByLip bite: I've got box braids and I kept them for 3 months. Plus, I'm taking my hair out on the 29th of February. So when I take my hair out I'm using a rat tail comb and a wide tooth comb. I also have a spray bottle. I'm even taking hair and nail vitamins.

Brown Skin Beauty: So how often should you moisturize your hair? I think I might be over doing it, which would explain why it's breaking off so much

Jazzmond's Mannequin TV: Great advice

Cherished Daughter: Yes, yes, yes! I am here to cosign on everything you are saying. I manage mine the exact same way except I do box braids and never experimented with rope twists. I may try that. In my house you can see what happens when you let your hair enemy become your friend. Only my youngest receives the hair care you are describing, since everyone else does their own hair at this point. Guess who has the most retention? You've seen her on my Instagram. It's all good though. They all know that it's not because their hair can't grow, they make choices based on what's important for them. My job is done. LOL!

Malika_tamara: I missed you so very much. Awesome timing. Very helpful Information as I now have a five year old daughter and trying to retain her length.

Ashley Tamar: Great info! Thank you!

⏳•t i r e d of the world•⏳: Thank you for this video so much. I wish I got my hair twisted when I was younger so I could do my best to keep it moist and not dry with the added hair protective styles

bnana milk: Love the tips. Can you do a video for rope twists on short hair. I feel like it's harder to make rope twists when your hair is short. PS: when I say short I don't mean TWA length. I'm talking shoulder length hair(when blow dried)

Paulina Blackman: Thank you very much for these tips.

katy-ann: I love this video I’ve just started to take care of my daughters hair and I do Bantu knots in my toddles hair because it’s not long

sexychick2422: Hello. I have fine thin 4c hair, and am now trying to grow it natural. I mix castor oil and aloe vera to keep my hair moisturize while in protective style, is that a good idea?

Stella OD: Helpful video. Amazing tips. Can u pls show us exactly what you explained with the mid month co wash and the end of month wash day.

Kuckabugg: I missed your videos!! So happy to see you're back!

Treva Collins: Great video

Mariam Mohammed: How do you remove the lint? Thanks for this golden advice

Grace: Do I need to protect my hair at night after doing all these?

OumoulAtia Bara: So useful, i will try your tips ♥️, i would like to know how to solve the problem of itchy scalp and dandruff if you have ever dealt with

againstalloddz4: Are your daughters still swimming? If so can you do an updated video on how you take care of their hair. I started twist w/my daughter at the beginning of the school year and got away from it bc I found the twist barely lasted 2 weeks, super frizzy, especially with swimming weekly so we have to shampoo weekly to make sure the chlorine is out. I'm like you in that I found small twist counterproductive, too long to install & it left the hair with more tangles IMO. They're pretty to look at & gives a fuller look but too high maintenance for me.

lm119 lm119: How do you put beads in the hair? I used the tiny rubber bands on my daughter's hair but I'm worried this is not good for her ends.

Marissa Cady: Will I get the same results if I use extensions for the twist?

Cristy Griffith: Best Straight forward Advice...♥️

yaya: Love your personality. Your fun to watch.

Favored4life: So good to see you back. Can you list the products you use and when?

TheExlurker: Great tips...... thanks!!

girlfromipanema09: Ayyyyye!! Wecome back!! Glad to see you posting again. The girls are growing so nicely!!

Marcy Miller: Natural hair curl is determined by the shape of your hair follicles. Asymmetrical ones cause an oval shape and creates curl. Symmetrical ones create a round shape and straight hair. Hair is hair, which on average grows a half inch per month. Split ends are also a major cause of breakage. What causes split ends is heat and chemical damage which expand the cuticle, and compromises its ability to open and close, casing permanent separation of a strand, and hair becomes weaker and breaks off. Without trimming the split ends, it will continue to split farther up the hair shaft and that’s how length is lost. Keeping hair trimmed with a quarter of an inch 2 or 3 times a year is key. When hair is wet, the cuticle expands and becomes weaker so using a wide toothed comb when detangling helps against breakage. Starting at the bottom of hair and working your way up keeps knots and tangles from getting locked in and come out much easier.

Tomie Ito: Does anyone else use regular conditioner vs leave-in conditioner? Regular conditioner moisturizes much better for me.
