Hey fam, it's a girl, 4c hair chick and in today's video I'm going to show you my hair maintenance routine. So this is what I usually do once I get tired of a style and I need to wash my hair and reset and start a new style. My first step is to detangle my hair, so I section out my hair and I take out whatever style I currently have in okay. So I had totally untwisted this half of my hair and I didn't apply any products, but now that all of my twists on this side are untwisted, I'm going to start applying my detangler and detangle this specific section for this step. You can use the detangler of your choice for me. I'M testing out heritage, hydrations detangler, okay, so I finished detangling that half and I'm just going to do the same thing on this other side. So after I finished detangling, my next step is a scalp treatment and right now I'm pretty obsessed with dr. Miracle's feel -- it formula what it is. It'S witch hazel and some other essential oils and you spray it directly on your scalp. You come back there with the pads of your fingers and rub it and it'll help lift a residue and flakes and anything that's still on your scalp. So it's the perfect thing to do before you shampoo, to make sure you're really getting everything off of your scalp and you have a clean scalp. You don't have to use this product. You can use just plain witch hazel if you want to, but this is what I use and I'm really liking it. So just wanted to share that with you guys. I didn't want this video to be too long, so I'm not showing every single step, but I'm going to talk you through the steps that I don't show so after my scalp treatment, I just hop into the shower and I shampoo my hair. I use a black soap wash shampoo right now. Afterwards, I get out of the shower and I apply my absolute favorite deep conditioner. You guys already know natty pachu and russell deep conditioner, it's by all things o natural. I just love this step, so I just put a shower cap on. I leave the deep conditioner on for 30 minutes and then I happen to shower and rinse it all out Here I am fresh out of the shower I've rinsed out the deep conditioner. My hair is still wet. I'M going to take out a couple sections and put in the leave-in conditioner. So currently I'm using Karen's body, beautiful, sweet, ambrosia leave-in. You can use any conditioner that you prefer and but that's what I'm using at the present time, if foul-up my leave-in conditioner with my moisturizer, so I use Shea moistures curl enhancing smoothie and I did a separate video talking about why I use this in the order. I use things in so, if you haven't seen it I'll, put a link in the description box and the last product I apply it to my hair is a sealant. It'S grapeseed oil. I like this oil in particular, because it's also a natural heat protectant. So in case I decide to do anything like sit under a dryer or maybe blow-dry, my hair or something of that nature and it doubles up. So I don't have to reapply any product, but I very rarely use heat in my hair, but I still really like grape seed oil. So that's the sealant I put on to lock in all the moisture. So after I moisturize my hair, I style my hair. I like to style my hair the same day that I wash it so today, I'm trying out this mousse, it's a frizz mmus. Excuse me a curl mousse from Shea Moisture, so all I did was I sprayed some in the palm of my hand, and I did these two strand twists all over my hair and my hope is I'll, be able to have a nice twist out when I take This out, so I'm going to show you the style that I ended up with, but first I just want to recap my whole routine, my maintenance process, so my first step is detangling, which I do in sections and I don't apply any product until I take out One half section, then I apply the detangler of my choice and I detangle the sections and put them into strand twists. I follow that up with a scalp treatment. I happen the shower. I shampoo I get out and I apply my deep conditioning mask whatever you use. I use the natty kampachi Russell deep conditioner and then I let that sit for 30 minutes with a shower cap. I hop back into the shower wash that out. Then I step out and do my moisture, which is my leave-in conditioner, followed by the moisturizer of my choice, followed by a sealant and that's it. I move on to styling. In this case, I used a bat Shea Moisture, curl mousse, which I'm testing out to do these two strand twists that you see me taking down and my goal here is really just a simple twist out style. So, let's see how it turns out Wow. So not bad at all. I will share with you some pictures of the final look. It'S a girl, 4c hair check. Thank you so much for watching. I hope this is helpful. Catch you on the next video outro you

4c Hair Chick: You just made my day! Thanks so much @Ashleyy. I started out transitioning too and eventually just big chopped. I hope your journey is going well so far. God bless ttys!

4c Hair Chick: I'm in a similar boat. I've been testing some ways to refresh styles. I've found that flat twisting an old twist out and then spraying with water helps refresh. I used to just re-two strand twist. But I think you and I might need to keep sharing tips back and forth. Might be a trial and error thing we've got to fumble through, but I feel you!

sare: Wow...its nice to see your hair grow so healthy, full, and long over time.

rina Williams: I love how moisturized your hair always looks alot of 4c girls have dry hair on their vids but yours keeps me confident to stay natural thanks

4c Hair Chick: Hey Sis, I've had my hair blow dried typically when I go to a stylist to do flat twist updos. When I use shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie after my blow dry it's shrinks quick. I've learned anything with water will do that so I find that raw shea butter is best after a blow dry for twisting. Hope this helps:)

tuutts39: Thanks for sharing your secrets. You're an inspiration for us TRUE 4C HAIR chicks. I'm in my 4th month of transitioning & look 2u & others for help & support. :-)

K Morgan: LOVED..LOVED..LOVED this video!!!! SO glad I found it!! I have 4c hair and started my natural journey almost one year down BUT just really started to care for my hair.

tishushu: Look at how healthy your hair is! Lovely! Keep up the good work.

4c Hair Chick: thank you! The hardest part is keeping my hands out of it. Sometimes I just wanna play in it and whip up a new style, but I limit myself to once a week or once every two weeks.

4c Hair Chick: Thank you for asking! Went through some personal stuff so been a little inconsistent lately, but kept myself busy by going to events and staying around positive folks. I feel like you and I need to do lunch or something gotta meet Ms. RallyGirl in person:)

4c Hair Chick: Thank you! Girl yes you are so right! I used to detangle in the shower, but when I switched it up I had better results.

curliefro: Your hair looks luscious and defined! I like your steps and find that detangling pre-poo is key for hair sanity....

Lets Try And DIY: Hey 4CHairChick. I missed watching your videos. Glad to see you again! You help me keep my hair hope alive :-)

Susan R: Your hair looks nice! When you mentioned oiling the scalp, it reminded me of how my old school hairdresser used to oil our scalps before shampooing (back in the early 1970's). Seems tough to find those old school hairdressers these days,,,

downtoat: We have very similar regimens! I've never tried the Shea Moisture styling moose. Is it sticky? You hair is looking so healthy. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Natalie K: Thanks for sharing how you handle your hair. My four year old daughter has 4c hair and I have 3c hair and I need tips!!!!!!!

4c Hair Chick: Thank you! I had some life stuff happen so I kinda had to occupy my time and get busy so I could get through it, but I'm back at it:) Thank you for even noticing. It's nice to know we all are a family in that way. ttys!

4c Hair Chick: To be honest I really like it. The smell is awesome. When you first use it's not going to wow you. Your hair doesn't "feel" different, but what I found is that I've been using for about six weeks and that leave-in is a bit lighter than Kinky Kurly Know Today and so it takes less time for my hair to dry and so I have better twist out results. So I like it:)

CammyjOfficial: Pretty girl + pretty hair =winning! Love your vids!!

Kisha Rivers: Your hair is looking really healthy and thick. I love your videos..thanks for sharing.

verbition: I feel like we have very similar hair types and my issue is what to do after wearing it out like this? My hair gets frizzy, dry and tangled after a couple of days if I don't retwist it :-( but becomes less full the more times I twist and untwist, unless I add water. Any suggestions?

Nubian Threads: so much useful information! I adore your videos!

Juliana's TV: Hi thanks for taking the time to do this video. Did you detangle using combs/brushes? Did you wash your hair in the braids or release them one by one?

kimberry2010: Your hair is soooo beautiful!

macee mace: I find that I lose my curl definition when I use the Shea's Curl Enhancing Smoothie. Besides gel (which dries my hair)...anyone have suggestions?

prettycoco6824: Your hair is growing beautifully

4c Hair Chick: I love the stuff so I use it a lot, but I will admit sometimes if it's too humid it will cause my hair to frizz more, but typically my hair is in a protective style I only do twist outs on the weekend so for the most part I'm worry free with it.

4c Hair Chick: thank you for watching. Truly appreciate the support!

live2cheer93: Would you recommend the Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave-in? I'm considering purchasing it but wanted your opinion.

Jacqueline Bonner: I just luck upon your videos, and I love them all. You have such a beautiful spirit, and I just can't believe you be telling my truth. Especially, in the first one I view about the products on 4c hair. I just lol, and said someone understand. But, I think I may have to try your techniques. OMG, just awesome all the way round!!! Thanks for sharing your truth! :)

I Am RallyGirl™: I understand; I hope things have settled for you. (hugs) Girl, I know; I was thinking the same thing! What are the odds? :)

jflsriur: I get better results and more curl definition by using a gel-Kinky Curly, Upper Mgmt, Orig. Moxie( they all worked for me)  and I do braid outs(plaits) and a two strand twist about the last 3/4 inch to the end.  I live in an arid mountainous region so my hair is dry next morning.  but you can always sit under a dryer or heat diffuse hair for about 30 min to get dry hair in the morn.

I Am RallyGirl™: Cute! I was thinking...when you took the first twists out, "She can get another week outta that!" I saw the makin's of a beautiful, fluffy fro! P.S. How are you? Your voice sounds a little different; I hope things are okay. xoxo

4c Hair Chick: I finger detangled and then used a wide tooth comb from end to roots about 3-4 passes. I try not to do too much with tools. I washed in twisted sections and put bobbypins on the ends of the twists so they wouldn't unravel. Great questions thanks for asking:) ttys

4c Hair Chick: You too! Girl Dallas was so fun I had to recover! Lol, I just followed you on IG:)

TShontae: Which hairitage hydrations product did you use and did you like it? I'm transitioning and desperately searching for a detangler... It seems my relaxed hair doesn't like anything my natural hair likes and its starting to be frustrating

Corinne: Great video. Thank you!!

luvjnz: Love your hair fullness! I wish my hair was thick.

UTubeuzername: your hair is getting so long, it looks great

4c Hair Chick: Thank you! Some days I want to be rough with it, but on those days I just skip touching it lol

MSE. Dzirasa: That smile took the cake...YOUR HAIR IS ROCKING GIRL...!

graysjonz: Thanks for sharing your routine

Luthasa Souza: I would love to see you do a full on afro after your whole regiment.

live2cheer93: Thanks! I'll more than likely try it out.

beta98beta: Do you ever blow dry your hair (ie for length check) and if so have you ever used shea moisture to twist afterwards... how did the twists come out? I'm thinking of trying this on my hair and our hair so alike thought I might could see your outcome, LOL

Shon: It was so nice to meet you! ^_^ I use this on my hair as well! I hope you enjoy your stay in Dallas! In case you're in Instagram I'm slmjd!

naturally50: Great video  and regimen that I may incorporate in my journey

Britney Hardy: nice video! How often do you wash hair? Do you co-wash at all? Thanks

MsHoneyalmond: Your hAir is growing so nicely :)

mae brown: Your hair is really long now, that twist looks great.

Cr Jordonpelt: When you moisturize your hair before styling is it cruchie/ dry when you take your hair down?

4c Hair Chick: Really good question. It depends if I put the shea moisture smoothie on and do my twists and wait until the twist are dry before applying a styler then I don't have any crunch. If I put the styler on right after the smoothie if it is a gel like styler it crunches up some. So sometimes I have to playaround with the stylers.

4c Hair Chick: I think that has to be good luck:) Thank you so much for the support!

Melissa Rivera: Your hair looks great

MsDHosley071: How do you maintain your style? Do you still try pineappling or do you re-twist at night?

Tonia Evette: Love it! You are so cute!!! Love shea moisture.... got find this mousse!! Thanks

4c Hair Chick: thank you so much for watching. It is truly appreciated. ttys!

4c Hair Chick: yes ma'am sorry about the delay. Yes I use it year round I like it a lot. It's great a moisturizing my hair, but it can make my hair more susceptible to frizz in the summer, but in the winter months I haven't run into any issues.

4c Hair Chick: thank you! I try to keep it happy with me. You know it has a mind of it's own lol

4c Hair Chick: Agreed! I can't go without it's hands down a staple.

4c Hair Chick: thank you for watching! God bless.

Amanda Camp: thanks for video, my 4c hair is no longer retaining length so imma do the detangling b4 shampooing to see if that helps and more conditioning

Ashley F.: ugh my hair frustrates me! i really dont have patience like you. i love your hair!

Dashia Rahmaan: Your hair looks good and it's getting long.

4c Hair Chick: yes ma'am I do. The trick to getting all the product out is to squeeze and release the twists with your fist. It pumps water through the hair and will help you cleanse it all the way:)

Ridgley River-Jedd: Great to see you again god bless:)

Mia Jadore: Nice video as always.

4c Hair Chick: Hey Sis, shoot me an email and I'd be glad to help. I'm gonna need to know what products you use and what style you want to wear your hair in. But I'm happy to help I look forward to chatting.

4c Hair Chick: Hey Macee, what style are you wearing your hair in? Twist out? Lemme know because depending on the style sometimes you can tweak the moisturizer and styler you use.

4c Hair Chick: Hey Jackie, Great question. I go to bed with a dorag and at night I do fat twists if I want to wear a twist out or all just retwist all my hair and wear it in a protective style the rest of the week.

Ridgley River-Jedd: Great look hon:)

Ogechi Nnadozie: That means you don't apply heat to your hair when you deep condition?

DrGirlfriendPHD: Nice results! I figured you had braids for a while cuz I haven't seen a video from u in a while. Glad to see a vid from u. :)

Lynne Harrison: Very nice and your hair is nice and shiny!!! very healthy looking.

4c Hair Chick: Thank you. I was like okay Shea Moisture Mousse!

4c Hair Chick: I no longer co-wash, but I do wash weekly now. I used to do every two weeks, but I've been making time to do it weekly since August.

4c Hair Chick: Thanks @DrkNSwt I have one of their style products I've just yet to try it out. Time for me to hop on it.

Akilah Etienne: How often do you wash?

TruthNLuvnHate: Twist outs must no be for me, I never like them on myself but love them on others.

Renisha T: Where can I find thst scalp treatment? Love your video and product used. Im familiar with all expect the detangler and scalp treatment

4c Hair Chick: :) TLC, but the team is time instead of tender. Time, love and care lol. Have a great night Sis

happy2benappy1: Can you answer this post...you and I have the same hair texture to a tee. I planned to use it this winter too, just started using back in the Summer wondering about the glycerin as well.

4c Hair Chick: truly appreciate the support

4c Hair Chick: lol, the more I do it the faster I get, but it used to take me like 3 hours now it's much faster. Thanks for the salute. ttys!

yourie coke: thank you so much for sharing

Aisa Kemp: Hey babe. I also use the curl enhancing smoothie but I didn't last winter. Do you still get use out of it in winter since it has glycerin. I mean the glycerin seems pretty far down the ingredient list so I would think it could still work but you never know.

Ashley: I only clicked on your vid because I thought you were pretty :3 But I'm still transitioning still- so I learned stuff that may help me later ! xoxo

Regina C: Thanks for sharing. I spotted you on CharyJay's blog when she went to NYC for a hair show (Alcamy? Not sure of the spelling. Great to see you.

Veronica Jones: Thanks so much will do.

annabellalicious: Could you please do a blow out tutorial??

Jackie O: Do you remoisturize& retwist each night, pineapple, or just go to bed with a satin cap?

4c Hair Chick: thanks sis!

4c Hair Chick: If I could blush I would be. Thank you! *hugs* lol I'm a hugger.

taquela dennis: So you shampoo your hair with the twist in? I wanted to try that but thought I wouldn't get all the product out.

4c Hair Chick: Thanks Mia!

ebonyrose316266: it looked pretty

Dev: If you want more definition in your twist outs you should try it the naptural85 way.

justjulesjg: Been sunburned, how long have u been natural?

macee mace: I have been wearing twist outs, I have to admit to becoming discouraged. Help.

4c Hair Chick: thank you!
