What'S up guys in my last video, a lot of you had questions about how i maintain my shorter bob hair at night, and so i figured i'd come back and show you really quickly how i maintain this style. But first i want to give a shout out to our sponsor of today's video skillshare skillshare is an online learning community, with thousands of inspiring classes for creatives and curious people to explore new skills. Develop existing interests, learn about so many different mediums. Illustration, painting flower arrangement to digital design and graphic design, entrepreneurial and business classes and they're all taught by leaders and professionals in the specific niche. So it's a really great place to get quality information. That'S direct and to the point i tend to mostly lean towards the productivity type of classes, so i was really interested in the productivity master class, create a custom system that works by thomas frank. It was so detailed with actionable steps that i can take as soon as i'm done with each lesson. I have two main businesses that i'm running right now, and so it's really helpful to see tips from people who are super organized. He just had a great class that has really helped me out a lot so there's so many different courses based on what you enjoy doing based on maybe a skill set that you need improvement on skillshare is a really great platform to get you started. It'S a membership with meaning something that's going to push you forward in your life and allow you to continue to learn in your own time. So skillshare is giving away two free months of premium membership to the first 1 000 people to click the link in the description box to help you explore your creativity, your passions, your interests, improve any skills and then, after that, it's only dollars a month, definitely get To clicking hope, you guys enjoy skillshare, whether you're, using it just for fun or to push you forward in your careers. Thank you so much skillshare for sponsoring this video. It'S just an amazing platform, and i really appreciate it alright guys. So it's the end of the night and how i prepare my short hair is slightly different from my long hair. I am wearing a twist out right now, so, with a twist out, i can prepare my hair one of two ways. So the first way is in a low, bun and i'll, usually do that for like blown out twist outs that are more like wavy for more of a curly coily twist out like this. That almost looks like a wash and go i'll usually stick with pineapples. So it's a little bit different on a short hair than is on long hair. If you guys have longer hair and you're interested to see how i pineapple my type 4 hair, which is took me a while to figure this out. But i got the perfect pineapple routine sun, i'm going to put that in the links or in the description box for that tutorial. Now that i cut it and it's short, i have a different routine for pineappling, but it's pretty similar. So the thing about pineappling is that you want the curls to remain free, but you don't want them to shrink to your head. So you're going to need are some old flabby satin hair scrunchies and they don't have to be good and then, of course, a satin scarf of your choice. This is the melon and hair care stretch, satin scarf in logo print that i'm going to use for today's tutorial. So what i like to do in your hair might be different from mine in density and thickness. So you might have to figure out how many sections you personally want to put your hair in, but i think the sweet spot is not too little and not too much hair in a section, because if you have too little hair in a section you're going to Pull it too much and it's going to create a new pattern in your hair that you don't want, and if you have too much hair in a section, then it's not going to have enough pull, and it's just going to like bounce back on you. I personally like to section my hair at night in three sections, one on each side here and then just one big section in the back. So what i like to do is take the first part like at the crown here kind of do like a crown and down at the ear type of situation, making sure that you're not pulling any loose hairs. And i'm going to use this loosey goosey guy here, which i usually use in the back. I want to try it in the front today watch this is going to be a mistake watch, so i'm just going to put it nice and loose like that, and i have a pineapple and i'm gon na. Do the other side so again from the crown down to the ear like that? Okay, how cute i'm a barbie girl in a barbie world? This is a different scrunchie. I don't need to put it around twice, because it has a little bit of pull still. So i'm just going to go like that and then let it go and then lastly, i'm going to just take this large section in the back. So let me turn around so i'm going to take this whole section here and just put the scrunchie around it once like that we are getting the pull at the root to make sure that the hair doesn't bounce back. You know you know when you first went natural and you made the mistake of going to bed with your wash and going. You woke up with the helmet head. That'S what we want to avoid. We want to avoid the helmet, so we're just going to pull it gently at the root and let the curls hang and by piecing it like this. You can get enough of the hair to flop down to create a pineapple. If i had tried to put all of this on top of my head, that's not going to work! My hair is not going to reach all the way up to the top. So now we're going to smush the curls to the back of the head. This hair is going to be like all weird, so in order to make sure that all the curls come out. Looking the same, you want to section it so that each section has a chance for the curls to fall. Hopefully that makes sense. I got a little fuzzy fuzzies in there that's okay. Now all we have to do is take our satin wrap put it on. This is literally so easy. Just literally put it on like this, so you don't have to like bring it up. You don't have to do any of that. Just put it like this and that'll take care of it. So there's like a million ways to wrap this satin wrap. I put one in that satin head, wrap video that i posted maybe like a month ago, and this is another way where you just literally wrap it and then tie it. It gets the job done. It'S not going to come off like the satin is perfect. For sleeping so i love our satin wraps. So this is what it looks like in the back. Everything is covered and then you just go to bed. So i'm going to leave this as is, and then i will come back tomorrow to take it off and show you guys. The final look hey guys. So it's actually two days later yesterday was kind of busy, so i've been wearing my hair in this altered pineapple for two days, just an fyi, i'm gon na take off my head, wrap and finally take it down. Remove your scrunchies and your hair is going to look something like this, but just give it a little shake and then you're going to begin to reshape your hair first of all check out what it's doing already. You see how my roots are still stretched and the curls are still there now we're just going to add a little bit more life to it. Now i do this in a couple different ways. If my hair needs a little bit of like moisture or softness i'll, add a little bit of my multi-use, pure oil blend the second option, for if you don't feel like you need any additional oil in your hair, which i feel like that today, my hair feels Still very moisturized and soft, i don't need to add any more additional oil to it. All you have to do is grab a little bit of water and you know if you're in the bathroom in front of your sink, just put your fingers under your running faucet. But i don't have a faucet here in my bedroom. So i'm just going to wet my fingertips: now not your whole hand, just the fingertips, because you don't want your entire head to get wet so just wet the fingertips and then you're just going to go in at the roots and pull down, see. Look at that instantly what the water does. Is it just loosens that bond that your hair has created so now you can mold it a little bit better than if you weren't using it and look how easily that just fell. Don'T you see so you'll see and we're just putting it again on our fingertips if you're in the bathroom just put your fingertips under the faucet and you're, just gon na go in just move the curls, how you want them and if you were using the oil, You do it the exact same way and you can even coat the oil over your strands. I'M not going to do that with the water, because i don't want to add any frizz or anything like that. But i'm really just reshaping. But let me just go ahead and work this out. That'S it now! Your hair is nice and loose not flat to your head. That'S all you do so i'm going to go ahead and style this now. Some of you guys have seen me use this trick before, where i use a bobby pin to frame the hair around my face, just to make sure it doesn't pop up just grab the sideburns and pin it in place. The memory of you just all right guys. So here are my final results: the hair just falls beautifully back in shape in place where you want it to go. So this way to pineapple your hair works really well on short hair and really prevents you from having that helmet hat situation. That is a lot harder to recover from so, as you can see, hair is still moving. Curls are still doing what they want to do all right guys. You get the point hope this video was helpful and i will see you in the next one.

Penny's Point of View: I love that blouse with the poke-a-dots!! Absolutely beautiful!

LatashaTrueHeart: Yes, Queen! I needed that one! I can't wait to try this because my do goes numb every time I go to sleep with my hair in a wash and go or twist out style! A pineapple was not working! I had to re-twist it and that's doing the absolute MOST! Who's got time for all that?

Alexia Grant: Honestly you look younger with short hair. I love the cut

Marissa King: Love it!! Looks beautiful

Steph Powell: Man this brings me back to 2010 Whitney lol. Do you know that you're literally my answered prayer? In 2010 I was sick of damaged hair from curly perms and prayed that if God taught me how to manage my hair and love it then I would never perm it again. He sent me to your videos. I binged watched them all in two weeks and learnt so so much. 10 years later and my hair is amazing, healthy, thick, coily, shiny and beautiful......but more than that, I now LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Thank you Whitney, truly, you'll never quite know how many you've blessed.

Anele Boligello: I discovered Whitney last week! I don't even have the same hair type as her. I just love how she talks about things that may or may not affect us. I'm from S. A, I also take your hair tips just by the way, even if my hair won't reach your level of hair, it's the healthy look and moisture that counts for me.

pinkbutterfly213: You have taught me so much about my hair. I live for your videos. Currently sitting with aloe Vera in my hair which has changed the health of my hair so much. Prepooing and watching this video.

simone seow: This is soo helpful I started doing this a few weeks ago and it’s help last my wash n go longer than before

Lee Ah: Got it so my mistake was using a bonnet instead of a scarf when I tried this ‍♀️ woke up with one section flat and sticking straight in the air. Thanks Whitney!

Mrs. V: I love the short hair I feel like we're in this together now and I can actual use the methods you post! :)

Room 707: You are a LIFE SAVER! Can't wait until the pandemic is over so I can order and try all of your products!

mangopeel: Been watching you for years, I’ve learned so much from you

Monique Jackson: I tried it and it actually works!! Thanks for the information. So much happier with my day 2 or more hair :-)

CurlyNella1011: I'm literally sitting here with my 3 ponytails and bonnet on. I do the same thing except I don't wet my fingers. I just spray oil sheen, shake, and pull apart the hair with my fingers

Simone Cheree: I’m so sorry to hear about you and Felipe. I know this is a hard adjustment for you and your family, and I will be keeping you in my prayers. As a daughter from a divorced family I am so sorry for Olivia. As an old subscriber I loved watching your vlogs and admired their strong father daughter relationship. I pray that they are able to keep that (as well as with your son). Please know you are loved and worthy of so much more. ❤️❤️❤️

K.A.: I'm glad you've decided to do some sponsorships. You deserve to get paid like all these other you tubers with similar subscriber counts!

GigiSxm: This is the video i didn't know i needed. I've been sleeping with my twist out freerange under my cap. My hair is that lengtht. Guess who's twist out is in 3 pineapples right now? Thank you!!!❤

bbydoll: We love and support you Whitney. I hope everything is good with you. ❣️

Keyanna Suddreth: SO HELPFUL! THANKS A TON! <3

Alyssa Rosie: Yes!! So helpful! I’ve cut my hair a few times and could never figure out how to sleep without getting the “helmet hair”.

kapparhotau181: "I'm a barbie doll" that's my song My hair is about this length and I tried the pineapple style after a wash n go and a small patch by my ear stretched but the rest of my hair shrunk and lost its shape. I looked ridiculous . This tip is great will try next time as I could never figure out how to do my night routine after a wash n go so I just dont do wash n gos

Teresa Harrington: Love definition and moisture. Love you're tutorials.

Winanda Pinas: Thankyou so much for delivering so much value in every video! I really appreciate it.❤

indria drayton: I wish you and your babies all of my prayers and may God keep you and strengthen you, Ms.Whitney!

Kismet Eats: Gorgeous healthy hair, love it

NIA’S SPACE: Wwoooowwww i just realized you been on YouTube for 10 years ... your one of the real OG’s when it comes to natural hair thank you so much for your knowledge and information on natural hair to give to all of us.

Nikka: Sooooooo helpful...definitely going to use these tips!!!

a.d. W: Would you ever consider doing a finger/comb coil-out on your hair? I use your products as staples now and wanted to try a finger coil out or comb coils with the cream and leave in. And you always have great natural hair hacks that help with styles. I have perfected mini twist because of your older twist videos. And I also have done good wash n gos on my 4a/b hair because of you. So I am curious how you would do with coils. Finger coils, comb coils. Or a coil out. Love your videos.

Shontay Harrell: Curls poppin all day I my hair the same way when I'm rockn my natural hair. I just received my order a few days ago and I'm waiting on the styling cream to get restocked. I will then hv all 3 items and I purchased the satin logo scarf. Can't wait til I do my wash-n-go using ur products.

Charlie Zena: THANKS you for the tutorial!!! There are so many different ways naturals take care of their hair!

Apara: Thank you!!! I see what I've been doing wrong. My ties were too tight, I need to use loose scrunchies and not so many (which leaves lumps..leading to frizz from me fixing it).

Dolce Dawn: So pretty! I love it ♥️

CurlyTonya: Good tip...been doing this for years. I actually just use bands and put them down the section...except the ends. It gives me a nice stretch. I’m going to get the satin wrap next time I order the leave in...the leave in is my favorite.

113016ify: Sending you and your family love and support you're a positive light and I hope u keep that energy as you go through your new journey! I hope u and your husband stay away from Social media and heal!! I hope u both can find the friendship with each other again as family is forever..

Melissa Brown-Watler: Your content is always incredible. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your knowledge.

L P: This video has given me SO MUCH confidence to even attempt a wash n go. My thing has always been maintenance. Now just have to find out how to preserve through the gym (since I sweat @ my roots) and I'll be fully ready to try it

Marnita Thomas: I've been watching her channel for years. She taught me everything I know about my hair. I love her. Honestly, I'm so glad she cut her hair. When her hair was butt length it was too hard to relate anymore. Now it looks soooo manageable. I absolutely love this length on her!! With being a natural the longer your hair the more work. When I cut my hair to a short tapered cut. I completely stopped doing twist outs because I didn't have to anymore. My hair was washed, detangeld, styled and ready to walk out the door in 20 minutes flat and it would last for 2 weeks!! Length is a game changer!

Pumpkin YorkiePoo: GIRL I LOVE YOUR HAIR CUT. IM ABOUT TO CUT MINES ALL OFF THIS WEEK AND START FROM SCRATCH. I LOVE YOU SISTER ❤️❣️❤️ I'VE BEEN RIDING WITH YOU FROM DAY ONE WITH ALL OF THE HOME MADE PRODUCTS. KEEP UP NO MATTER WHAT YOU HEAR AND SEE POSTED ONLINE ABOUT YOU. SCREW THESE LOSERS WHO DON'T KNOW YOU OR LIVE YOUR LIFE..... BLOCK THEM OUT .... YOU ARE MY GIRL WHITNEY.

AJ: I'm going to try this for my troublesome wash and go's... currently waking up with a SEVERE case of helmet head (and extreme tangles) each and every morning so I'm really hoping this works!

Yolanda Stephens: You are such beautiful inspiration!! Thank you for sharing your wisdom and knowledge with us. ❤

ciscadanielle: You look beautiful, Whitney! Plus, you’re super smart. I can tell all of your techniques come out of you trying to problem-solve. You be in that hair lab

NaturalBeauty: Have yet to watch the video bc I'm on my way to work; but I just wanted to stop by and say your product line is the TRUTH!! I have 3 girls, we all different hair textures, and NEVER in LIFE- NEEEEEVER- have we found -1 product- that ALL 3 OF US can use. Our hair LOVES THIS STUFF!! We've all never processed, but have different concerns- so I'm a natural born PRODUCT JUNKIE (Which gets very expensive)- NOT ANYMORE! You've saved our hair and my pockets. I was only able to get the leave in and the oil. Can not wait for that 3rd product to come back in stock. I've been screaming your praises to EVERYONE with natural hair. You, my friend, are the GOAT!!

Sharon Hyde: She looks so youthful and rejuvenated with this hair cut <3

Christy Ford: This is how I stretch my hair too. It's great

Basil The Yorkipoo: Where have you been all my life? Thank you so much for making this. I've got 3b + c curls with s few a. My hair isn't very long and I'm struggling with how to keep my curls from turning into a bird's nest the next day

CurlySimmyTingz: So excited!❤️ loving the short hair

Shyann B: Her hair is sooooo healthy! I can’t wait until my hair gets back to what it was.
