Okay, i'm really close, so i'm just gon na back up a little bit, hey guys, i'm back with this video. It'S a long awaited video for my one year update, but i'm here i have tried to film it several times before and do you know what it just no bueno? It did not go well, but we are here third time lucky now before i get into the video, please make sure you subscribe. We are on our road to a thousand subscribers, so it does mean a lot if you help support the channel by subscribing. I also want to say a massive thank you to everybody: who's been liking, commenting and sharing um. I am active in the comments, so i do reply back. So if you have any questions about anything, please let me know, but if this is your kind of your entry point into me and my keratin hair treatment journey, please make sure you watch my other videos in the series and i just break down as much information As possible, this won't be um specifically like going into the science for the treatment and stuff i mean, like you know, i mean it's just gon na be an update, so we are a one year update as you can see, my hair is there, but you can Also see my hair is red and we're just gon na we're gon na put pulls on that and then we're gon na press play in a little bit, and i will explain why my hair is basically red. So this is my hair. One year on, as you can see, i have had a fresh trim. I got my keratin treatment, so my one year, keratin treatment day august 16th. That was the last one i got, and that marked me having a year of keratin treatments, and this is the length that i'm coming at now. We did trim quite a lot off because the back of my hair, the ends at the back of my hair, were damaged. Now, i'm not going to be somebody on this youtube and lie to me like oh, my gosh everything's, so amazing, i damaged the back of my hair, specifically the ends, because what i was doing basically the last couple months was just tying it up. Like top notch. Just tying it just pulling it doing all sorts of crazy things to it and um not oiling it. I know, and so was just acting reckless, so we did have to trim it, but we still have some growth from the trim anyways so we're a year on and i'm just gon na say that i'm loving it. I don't know if i'm gon na stop having treatments any time soon, as i've said in previous videos, it just makes it so much more manageable for me personally and it's just it's just easier for me like i'm. Just being honest, it's easy for me: i'm seeing growth, it doesn't shred or tangle or not as much, and i also get to have the versatility in the hair by going back to my 4c natural texture. So i'm loving it, but there are obviously things that i have learned on my journey for a year, so things that i haven't spoken about in the video in my videos or things that i haven't seen being mentioned in other people's videos. So number one thing i would say is new growth. Okay, so there is a period of time when your hair starts growing. Obviously, after you've had the keratin treatment, it's a little bit like regrowth in perm, and so there you have the your like um afroe roots. I don't really have any nuts i'm going to show you some like afraid roots and then the rest of your hair is like half the keratin treatment and it's straight now, obviously to combat that you could just wash your hair sorry about that. My camera died. So i knew the time while the battery was charging to style, my hair, and so i used was my fabulous straighteners and i just went down and flicked the ends out and then i just was like what. If what would it look good if it looked good on the side part and, let's just fluff it out a bit, and what would that look like? So it's a little bit, it's a little bit obnoxious! Actually, so i'm just looking in the mirror! Yeah, it's a little bit, it's a little bit obnoxious, but that's just basically my hair for the moment. So obviously i've curled it out, so it's not actually showing its straight length at the moment, but you saw it earlier. As i was saying, i was talking about new growth. It is similar to your perm regrowth, basically, where you've got like the afro um roots and then the straight ends, and so the way that i've been combating when my new growth gets. A lot is just by wearing my hair natural, so i'll, just wash it and just keep it to its usual 4c texture that way the whole texture matches instead of having like these crazy afro roots and straight hair. Do you know what i mean it's a bit? It'S a bit much. Obviously you can straighten your roots if you want to because you still, you have new a lot of new growth, but you want to wear your hair straight. You can straighten it, but the way that my 4c hair is set up is when i put heat on it. It lasts for about 2.5 seconds, so there's basically no point of putting heat on it. It'S just basically it. I think, because i feel like it's just like something else. I learned in my one year journey, i'm talking about the red hair, so, as you can see, the front of my hair is red, and that was where my hair was blonde. Remember the little lightning patch i'll link the video somewhere around here about um me dying in front of my hair blonde, and then i went back to black. Well, i went to go get my keratin treatment in august and basically i finished my treatment and my hair was red. My hair was red. My hair did warn me that there was a likelihood that um it could strip out the dye in my hair, just because it hadn't been that long from when i had dyed it to treating it to putting the keratin treatment in it. But i was kind of like whatever you know and then that was literally like whatever, because then i had red hair and it was so crazy because i had to be a bridesmaid at a wedding and i had red hair. It was the most insane thing, and so i had to go, buy this black hairspray and just spray it at the front. So at the moment the front of my hair is red and i have basically been back to my hairdresser once since my hair has been red just so that he could wash it for me and because you know i can wash my own hair. But i prefer not to um, so it was still red by the time we finished it, and i just don't really have any plans at the moment to make it black again. I just can't be bothered right now. I just can't be bothered, so i'm just wearing the front of my hair red when i want it to be black. I just put in that black temporary hairspray. You can wash the temporary hairspray out, but i've basically found that it fades out. Basically, by the end of the day, so that's basically what i've been doing to combat the redness, which is um crazy. So i'm sure there's more of a technical explanation as to why my dyed hair went red and if i do find the technical explanation, i will throw up on the screen right now. I can't remember this was like six weeks ago and it was all a bit of a blur to be honest in my one year journey i'd say my biggest learns have been that, although the treatment is gray and it helps me grow my hair, i've still got To make sure that i'm doing the due diligence of looking after my hair, because as much as it grows, if i'm not able to retain it or retain length, it's just gon na keep breaking off. Because that's what hair does? If you don't look after it and that's the biggest struggle for me, it's made it easier for me to look after my hair when it's in this state, but i'm still like horrible at looking after my hair, and that's exactly why i need such a hairdresser and So all boris lockdowns and things like that - have really taken a toll on me in this year because it delayed some of my treatments, as you guys know, through the videos i had to do a lot of home care, and it was just not for me, like All of it was just like a no to the no to the hell, no heck, no um. So that's what it was. It was just like it was. It was a no for me, and so that is one of the biggest things i've learned is. I need to make sure that i'm doing my due diligence of looking after my hair and with that being said, i do have some new products that i'm trying out and when i say new, i'm talking these are brand spanking new i've only been trying um. Some of them out for a couple of weeks, some of them for a couple days, and hopefully in my next update, i can explain to you how i felt it went yeah brand new is the dr miracles temple and nape grove balm. I don't know if the lighting will allow for that too. Oh yeah, there you go so my nails are janky, but i basically been using that for a couple of weeks. As i've said many times in these videos, i have very weak edges and that's because of my years of braiding and wigs, and so i'm just trying to grow it out and make sure that they look full and thick and also, as you know, i've got quite A low hair line, so it is important to me that they do look happy and healthy and um thick, so i've been using that. Basically, this is what it looks like it's like a baby color. Oh it's not showing up. It'S like a baby color, as you can see, and basically the consistency is like i don't know if any of you guys have ever used glaze before it's a little bit like that, and it does lay your hair down. The only thing i'll say is, it seems to be like a bit of a water-based product, so what i found is is, after a couple of hours, right when you've worn it. It'S like. It almost starts like sweating out of your head. I can't i don't know if that makes any sense and what it basically does, because it's water-based it turns my edges and my hair back to its natural 4c texture. So then, i find that i'm going to have to either like blow out the fine line of my hair. If i want to wear it straight because this has turned it back into the 4c texture. So that's the only thing with this product when i'm wearing my hair and it's 4c natural, then it's great. I slap this product on every day. I think i do it twice a day as per the instructions. Um yeah use twice daily for 30 days this and then evaluate your results. But when i'm wearing my hair straight, it's a bit of a bother because i don't want to put heat on my hair all the time. Just so that i can do this temple and nape grow bomb, the holland and barrett hair, vitamin gummies, don't know if that is um showing up because of the camera, so they are chewable gummies, they're, pineapple, flavor guys. This is the best tasting hair gummy that i've ever had because i've had a few trust me, but this one's the best one and it kind of just, looks like that. It'S just like um like little moon crescent things, they're very cute. It'S like 10 pounds. Basically, you take twice a day with the meal. Now i've tried a lot of hair vitamins and they usually work for me, so i usually take like biotin by itself. I'Ve taken some hairfinity, the capsules work for me, but their tubal vitamins did not work for me, and so this is the next thing that i'm trying i do like just the straight biotin from holland embarrassed, but i did want to have a little bit more vitamins. I thought i might as well just not just buy it in let's mix it up, so this has collagen in it b12, zinc and selenium, and basically it's great for your hair skin and nails. So i thought perfect i'll target all three. So far, i'm loving the taste like loving the taste. I will let you and i've only been on this for like three days so i'll. Let you know if i feel any differences in the next um next month or so, but yeah. So this is basically my one year update and i just i feel like i always have to do this, so you guys can see the movement of the hair, as you can see - movement, nice and wispy and has body to it and um. I just feel like i always just want to show you guys that i don't know why. I don't know if that helps with your decision making, but that's basically, my one year hair update, sorry that it is not. I haven't got um, it wasn't better planned out and i don't have more things to say it's really because i'm racing against my dead battery. I know my camera died. The first time, then, i got it to have some juice and i was about to die again and that's like what i'm watching in the corner. So i will do a proper one-year update for that one-year update. If you do have any questions, you want me to answer, please drop them in the comments below and i will address them in a more formal video. But yes, that is me. Thank you so much for watching. Anissa Online: Questions? Take a look at my 'Q&A on Keratin Treatment' https://youtu.be/1FgOo_XG-ok

M K: Hi Anissa, hello from NYC and thanks for sharing your journey. I was waiting for this video update! I have seen the stories from women who’ve said their hair fell out with keratin, or that it damaged their hair and caused a lot of breakage. My Q is how many treatments have you had so far? How far apart? And have you experienced fall out or damage/breakage? Thanks in advance!

Shalom Shalom: Thinking og getting a keratin treatment done. Your video was helpful and i love that you respond to every question asked. That helped. Thank u. You have a new subbie.

Jada Ony: I’ve been contemplating getting a keratin/smoothing system. Im not sure whether to get the arosci irs or Avlon texture release Glad to see a video with an update on these treatments, It so hard to find.

Susan Foster: Great video. What Keratin treatment do you have?

Jada Ony: Do you still get the arosci and how much do you pay? I live in London and it seems not many do it anymore but the prices do vary on those that do. I’ve seen £185-200+

aharri941: Did you try the GK keratin system? If any of you have tried the GK keratin system, please let me know.

Jerrilyn Sinclair: Hi has your hair grown with the treatment?

Champion Trades: it would be nice to see what it did to your curl pattern

Lisa: I really want Keratin on my hair I have 3c hair it's very hard to manage gets so tangled easily and the shrinkage my salon charges $300+ for Keratin treatment kinda pricey but I have heard good things about it.

A White: Your hair looks blonde on camera
