Pattern Beauty Review- Does It Really Moisturize Dry 4C Hair

Hello and welcome my name is nolan here on my channel. I review hair products. I review them for the typical helping type 4 naturals be able to achieve a wash and go on their own in their home space. When i first went natural, it took me a very long time to be able to achieve a wash and go so i know some of the frustration that can come about, but if you stay tuned i will help you take your hair from this in its natural State and then just go ahead and help you bring out your naturally coily curls. So for this video we are going to be reviewing pattern, beauty which was created by miss tracy ross. I am usually a little skeptical of celebrity products, but there are certain products in this line that i believe are good and some that are just not for me. We will start with the hydration shampoo, it's supposed to gently cleanse and hydrate. I got this for five dollars at t.j.maxx and tj maxx is known to be selling discounted items, so just make sure you check them out. Next, we are going in with the intensive conditioner something cool about this line is that they offer a heavy and intensive conditioner intensive, conditioner and per them. It says it's for amplified max hydration. So if your curls are super thirsty, look for the intensive i may do a video later on just comparing the two and seeing, if there's actually any difference, moving on to the styling products, we'll use two styling products, the curl gel and the stronghold. I decided on these two initially because i did not trust the curl gel. It stated to have a medium hold and i've learned over time for my type 4 hair. It prefers a strong hold. Not only does a stronghold help curls pop, but it also helps in the smoothing process which overall would help in giving you a better wash and go, and so here is a picture of the stronghold gel all right. So, let's get started with the wash so first allow your hair to saturate with water. So just let sit especially if you have low porosity hair. Sometimes it takes a while for our hair to actually absorb the water, so i would definitely just recommend just being in a shower for a little bit and drench your hair water before you just go in with the shampoo alright. So i did really like this shampoo. It does it is. It says that it gives a gentle cleanse, which i felt like it did a really good job of cleansing. My hair, my hair, did not feel stripped at all once i used it and i did use it twice just in general, i always recommend washing hair twice because i feel like it solidifies the fact that you're getting all of build up if any or just dirt Or oils or any products used previously out all right. Next, we go in with the detangle. I do start my detangling when my hair, i started with the shampoo. I know some people usually started with the conditioner, but i feel like i only wash my hair once or twice a week, so this is the only time i get to detangle my hair. I make sure that it is good and detangled so that way, when i'm applying the styling products, i won't get any tangles, always remember that with wash and goes everything starts with your wash, which is very, very important. Oh all right, so i just had this clip in here just to show you guys about another reason why i like the shampoo as like, as you can tell already, my curls - are popping with it. It will actually, if my hair does feel cleaner, like i said it does not feel like stripping or dry right now, so curls are already popping which to me is a good sign all right. So at this point my hair has been washed twice already with the shampoo. You can tell that it's hydrated, it's happy, curls are popping, so i definitely love the shampoo from this line. I would purchase this again and i would recommend the shampoo so 10 out of 10. For me all right. So next up we have the conditioner that we're going in this is their intensive, conditioner and per pattern. Beauty is that it is great for tight textures when they need a little tlc. This intensive conditioner is supposed to protect against breakage and it is made from avocado oil. Shea butter is it. She, i think, is she a better shea butter and safflower, but safflower oil? I'M sorry - and i do agree you can tell the way that it melts into your hair is definitely has oils and butter. I absolutely also love this um conditioner. It definitely felt like it was again doing what it stated. My hair definitely felt hydrated with it. I would purchase this again and i would recommend it. I would recommend it for others as well all right. So at this point i have shampooed my hair twice and i have conditioned it, and this is what it looks like all right. So next we were going in with the curl gel, so this product actually gave me a little bit of a surprise. It says that it's a gel, but it comes out white and it has a consistency and reminds me of a cream um. I usually i know this looks crazy because it's like, why aren't you parting your hair? Well for me, because i have low porosity hair, i tend to put products at least like the first product. I tend to put it while my hair is still soaking wet in the shower and then, when i step out, i smooth everything out with this product. It just did not work with the technique that i have and although it gave out some curls, it's just not to the extent that i've seen other products do so. I personally would not purchase nor recommend it again, um just because by itself i don't feel like it does the job for type 4. For my type 4 hair, the only saving grace in the whole style of everything was the stronghold gel, which i'm so glad that i purchased it. Unlike the curl gel this, the stronghold gel was able to smooth my root. I don't know if you guys can tell but like on one side, my hair is like super smooth and the other one. The roots are frizzy, it's kind of hard to tell on camera, but it definitely um. I could tell because i've done wash and goes quite a few time with different products, so i know sometimes which ones are working which are not like. If you can tell that smoothing part of it with my hand, that's with that stronghold. The curl gel would not lay my hair like that, and that's a good indication to me that that product is not maybe for me and having to go in with a spray bottle. I never usually have to do that because the first product i put in automatically curls my hair and when i step out the shower, i'm just using gels to hold that curl in place. So, although i loved like the line, i would not recommend the curl gel, but if you have tried the curl gel and like it worked for you and you have type 4 hair i'd be interested in knowing what you did. I just feel that it should be products should work for your hair and not you work for the product. If that makes sense, so i did everything that i could with that curl gel like i only tried it once, but i don't know y'all. I just was like nah man um, like i said, the only thing that saved the wash and go in my opinion was the stronghold and i even feel like the curl gel shrunk, my hair a little bit, even though you will naturally have shrinkage with curly hair. It just is what it is um i feel like. If i had just used a stronghold gel, then it would have worked out better because the shampoo and condition was already on and popping so anyways. Thanks to the stronghold, the curls were still popping. I was able to smooth everything out and at this point once you place in your product, i go in for the max heat and the max like fan blowing out on my dyson. But if you have a hooded dryer might be better. I don't have a hooded dryer, so i use my dyson diffuser all right and here is the end result after everything was dried out.
