What'S up y'all sakira and i'm back in another video, so as i can tell about today's title, i'm going to be straightening my natural hair. Now i never got my natural hair straightened since october. I actually got a silk press done professionally. So you know it's been a couple of months and i just decided that i could try to straighten my hair myself, because i really need a trim really bad and it's so hard to book. Appointments like within my work schedule, because i don't be knowing you know when i'm gon na be off trying to straighten my hair myself. I'Ve done it before and it worked out, so we are starting out on freshly washed hair. Well, i washed my hair last night because i took out my protective style that i had in a couple of videos. I had some soft locks. I might insert a picture right here when i tell y'all dumb locks was so hard to get out like that was my first time having locks and like i only used to have box braids and like quicklys and sewing stuff like that. That was by far the hardest thing: the hardest hair i've ever taken out because box braids, i can take down these. All you got ta do is cut the bottom and braid upwards and it comes out these locks. I watched three different youtube videos to get three different techniques like. Why is there so many ways to take all these locks and why is it not straightforward? So i struggled with that - and i don't know if y'all will be able to tell in the video or not, but i accidentally cut a piece of hair in this section, and this section i don't know how it happened. I i was so mad about it. I really was so mad because, like i've been trying to get my hair all the same length for the longest, it's like that just pushed me back so much farther because it wasn't a tiny piece of hair baby. It was a big piece of hair eyes and then we cut out so i was so mad, but you know it's not. The end of the world hair is going to grow back and everything so i'll. Just keep it pushing air in these four braids. So now what we're going to do is blow dry, my hair, now the reason that i waited till today to blow dry, my hair is that i didn't want to apply as much heat on it, because i know i will be straightening my hair, so it's like. I didn't want to blow dry my hair soaking wet that was going to require a higher heat, a higher um heating setting, and i'm already going to be flat ironing my hair with a lot of heat. So my hair is mostly dry, so it shouldn't take long to blow dry. My hair, all i do is put up three sections: i'm going to start with this back section right here, i'm gon na unravel the braid, i'm gon na spray, my heat protectant. Of course, i'm gon na comb, my heat protectant through to make sure that my hair is fully coated. Now, one of the biggest must of getting your hair as straight as possible. Whenever you flat iron, it is getting a really good blow dry before so. What i'm going to do is i'm going to blow dry a smaller section in this, i'm just going to split this section into two parts, so i can ensure that my blow dry comes out as straight as possible. The kids blow dryer i bought this. I'Ve been having this for a while. Now i don't remember how long i've been having this for a while. So it's a good blow dryer and it comes with a comb attachment and i don't use my blow dryer without the comb attachment so yeah. I don't have a comb attachment on your blow dryer. I try to get one because it is definitely a game changer. You know work on the warm setting right now. Like i said, my hair is mostly dry, so i'm gon na work on the warm settings. All right. Also, this section is completely dry. I know i did a few passes in the camera but, like i said i was working on the warmer setting. So if the heat wasn't as high, so this is what we're looking at right now, let check let check but y'all, so i'm gon na be cutting my ends today, i'm gon na let my boyfriend cut my ends and i got on a white shirt for a Reason so y'all gon na see how that goes. You know you got ta cut, wear your hair see through, but this is how straight my hair has gotten so yeah, so you got really straight. So i about know. You have um blow drying out here. To take smaller sections. See me: do one section, i'm gon na follow the same method for the rest of my sections. I'M gon na take i'm gon na split each of my four sections into two, so i have a few left to go. So i'm just gon na speed through that and then i'll start talking again whenever it's time for me to get into straightening uh, i'm all done blow dry. My hair, all parts of my hair and this process did not take me long at all. Like i said, i think it's because you know i let my hair air dry overnight, so i really didn't have to go over with the hair dryer many passes at all like i have to stay on one section for a long time, because my hair was already Pretty much dry just needed a little heat to it, a little section from each part, because whenever you straightening your hair, everybody already knows this. You know it's better to take the smaller sections possible, then bigger sections just so you can ensure that your hair will come on straight now. My hair looks blown out all together, so i could just show you all that if i wrote you a symphony just to, i feel like keeping my hair in these twists definitely keeps my hair tame like it looks so much better than like. It would be like just blown out regularly so yeah. This is my hair. Look at this bro get into the rope baby get into the freaking rope, and i know my ears probably look bad, but you know my hair isn't combed out. I'M gon na get these in taken care of okay, we'll get these ends taken care of for jessa's house. Looking and i got ta take a thumbnail. You already know all right y'all, so i decided not to put all the little twists back in my hair since i just took it out i'm sitting on pillow jaw because his mirror, you know i have a long mirror. So i got ta sit on pillows. I can see my head anyway, so yes, i section off one half of my hair and i put in a big twist - and i split this section in half now, i'm working with the bottom half of this section, i'm just taking out a little bit of hair At a time, so i have my flat iron, it was preheating, and this is the infinity pro by conair and my mom haven't been having this ladder for a long time. It'S about i've never been using. I heard titanium flat. Irons are better. I think this is ceramic, i'm not sure so, i'm going to have to invest in a titanium flat iron because i heard that it gets your hair really straight with the less amount of passes. So the temperatures on these are one through five and so, like you know, i don't know like the actual temperature, like i don't know whether it's 350 or 400, but i put it on number four, because i only want to do two passes at the most like. I don't wan na do a lot of packing, so i went to heat setting number four to ensure that i don't have to do a lot of passes now, like i said i sectioned off this piece of hair. So now i'm gon na spritz a few expressive heat, protectant and comb it through. I got a smaller comb as opposed to my wide tooth, make sure all the tangles are out and the heat protectant is in my hair, starting the flat iron process. It'S 12. It'S 12 38 right now so and i have to be somewhere for three, so i really should be done. I just want to get time to eat before i go over there because i'm really hungry so we're gon na take one section at a time. So, let's start with this one, i'm gon na show y'all how i do these two sections and then the rest would just be sped up well because it's kind of self-explanatory so yeah, i spray my heat, protectant i'll, pull my section through to make sure my heat Protectant is thoroughly in there and that the tables are out, and now the most i want to do is two passes. You got ta see if you do more than that. My job is this little. We all make mistakes with my hair, but hopefully it really does get straight with just two passes and i'll do more than one pass on my roots, just to make sure the roots are straight. So that's my first pass, i'm about to turn the volume because it's still looking puffy to me, yeah, look at that freaking against the wind getting to the lens. I keep saying getting to limp, but some of these might be getting off, but again all right. So we are done with that, you get, that section is complete and this is how i was looking so yeah. You know this is going to be a very long process and i'm basically going to repeat the steps that i just did so i'm gon na speed the rest of this up. I'M gon na start talking to y'all again about almost done. Oh taking pictures of the whole thing, so i'm done straightening my hair, as you can see it kind of frizzed up already, but i really just wanted to straighten my hair just so i could get the trim so yeah y'all. This is how it is looking and isaiah is going to be trimming my hair and the reason i'm letting y'all notice now. The reason why i have a collared shirt on you know, i'm saying i know y'all don't usually see me with that, but the reason why i do have it because i play gold. I just got finished from playing golf. So just let me know all right y'all. So i have a white shirt on as you can see, and you know whatever you trim your hair, you have to trim where you can see your hair through where you can see the shirt through your hair. You know those are your thinner ends. Why do you study cutting? Are they just going a straight line just chill? Oh straight line across now, y'all just seen, um isaiah trim my onions and he did a good job. I wanted my hair. I wanted all my hair. Even so we did. We cut off a lot of hair, calling it my hair to be even i said, my hair's kind of puffing up already, but it can be expected. You know not professional, but i did follow the two pass maximum. I use my heat protectant and then we just trim my ends with some shears. So i have this anti-frizz serum that i'm gon na put on my hair too. Can we finally go bowling and i feel like my hair - is gon na frizz up? If so, i'll just bring a ponytail, but i really wanted to flat iron. My straighten my hair for the purpose of trimming my ends because my hands need to be trimmed real bad. So, of course, it's not going to look like a full-on silk press, but i hope you enjoyed this video i'm going to get ready. Now, don't forget to like comment subscribe now catch on the next one, hello, stranger, it's been a minute.
