4 things you're doing to increase your hair's POROSITY - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5U-_mh...

The first time you feel how soft your hair is, after a green housing with a deep conditioner and a shower cap overnight, it's easy to get hooked, especially if your hair is low in porosity, but too much of a good thing can quickly turn bad when your Hair is under sweat, box conditions, your cuticles temporarily weaken and fray. The longer you keep the shower cap on your head, the more your cuticles are weakened. That'S what allows the product you're using to freely penetrate into and soften your hair. After rinsing your hair and it's dry and styled your cuticles seal back up, the problem with the greenhouse method is, if you use it too long and too often your cuticles can permanently weaken, resulting in higher porosity hair

Meera436: There’s really no point in conditioning overnight. The manufacturer has already tested the max absorption of the product. Whatever’s time is on the bottle is what it takes and as much as your hair can absorb. The rest will rinse away. All this overnight stuff is just irritating the scalp and growing fungus.

uberhaute_naturalz: My scalp hates overnight conditioning and oiling, long-term protective style and all these exotic things people keep coming up with every day. After I Cleanse, Condition and Style I'm good for one full week.

Marqia Smith: WOOOOOOOW. I was just thinking “this is probably why I have high porosity”

Anne: Overnight conditioning is pointless and rather bad cause it makes a perfect atmosphere for fungus and other scalp conditions, more than what suggests the instructions is bad cause it maintain this humidity and cause dermatitis or flakes

Ginia Maxwell: Not to mention I f found it really uncomfortable the few times I did it lol.

JustSammie🌺: Moisture overload in a nutshell ❤️

Virenda Victoria: I am high porosity and overnight deep condiotining has always been the best for me ...i hear people said like you can develop fungus but i have never had one person who got fungus because of it so its like fear of unknown. Overnight deep c help my hair to stay moisturized for longer time than if i do it as the product say. But yes anything overly used is harmful

Jamaal Craig: Unrelated but can you please do a video about knotting your ends to protect them better?

T. Harris: Is this the same if you get in a sauna weekly. I usually put conditioner in my hair and a shower cap…for about 1-2 hours of sauna use. Usually after I wash my hair…is this a bad practice in the long term?

Sunny: I never did an over night deep conditioning. 35 minutes to 45 minutes than sometimes I just put the conditioner in for 5 minutes and gone by my day.

Black Pearl of Braavos: Dang...are there ANY positives to HiPo hair? Anywhoo... I'm high porosity and 1 hour is about all I will do, and my hair can never get too much moisture, but I see no marked improvements by leaving in conditioner overnight. I'm moreso focused on making my cuticles as tight as possible to preserve as much hydration as possible.

Serena Atkins: Love your videos. So educational.

certified_L0ser :/: I don’t wear a shower cap when I’m showering but if I do this is good to know

Uanne: If I do overnight it's ust with oil (not conditioned) but that's because I'm tired and I rinced out the next morning. Don't know if overnight with an oil/multiples oil "it's bad" ?

Truth Eternal: Thanks for sharing

Jahloveicrave 79: Hello my dear how long do u recommend that we should keep a shower cap on when doing a deep conditioning treatment or even our onion treatment I'm in shock because I'm a culprit in keeping my shower cap on overnight lol, so now as I know better imma do better! Would really love to get your feedback on the recommended time to keep one on thank u!

Ebunoluwa Olugbemiga: how long is too long and how often is too often for medium porosity 4C ?

Denise Oates: Okay this just talking about abusing the conditioning method? So, it okay to do the plastic cap over hair for 1 hour or less? I did this to my granddaughter's hair before washing the chlorine out of it because she has very dry and tight curls and it actually worked for an easier comb through.

Breeze2423: So is it just for overnight? What about 30 mins a week is that ok?

Hair Diary: FYI, for those that do not know, the true GHM doesn’t use deep conditioner. So, I’m not sure where that is coming from. This video says GHM, but it is referring to overnight deep conditioning.

FIRE CROCHET HAIRSTYLES 🔥: So what's the alternative?

kittyskid1: makes sense

Monique Loomis: What if your hair was naturally high porosity to begin with. What is too often? Once a month? Bi-weekly?
