Hey guys and welcome back before I jump into today's video, I just want to take a moment to give you all a huge huge. Thank you for 200,000 subscribers. I seriously can't believe it every time it just blows my mind. I wouldn't have ever imagined I'd be where I am today and it's all because of your eyes support. So just thank you. I seriously can't thank you guys enough, I'm so appreciative of your support, especially those of you who have been following me since the beginning. I mean I know I haven't been on YouTube that long, but I know who you guys are I see you comment, so I really appreciate you sticking in there through the good and the bad, because I'm still learning how to film and all that stuff. So thank you for sticking with me. I really appreciate it. I will have a giveaway coming soon. I didn't forget about the international giveaway. I just I don't even know where time when I seriously you think, with a job where you're just like at home all day that time would go really slow, but it actually goes by a lot faster so before I knew it it's now March, going into April. So I will have an international and US giveaway as a huge thank you to you guys, I'm just still collecting some items. I think you guys might like so stay tuned for that and again, thank you so crazy, so crazy. So anyway, now back to this video, I'm going to be going over my hair care routine. I have owed you guys this video for a long time. I just dreaded recording it or re-recording it, because I did film it once a long time ago, but the video came out horrible. I couldn't even watch it, so I figured you guys would hate it too. So I'm finally sitting down and recording it and it's just a lot of product, so I know that sitting down to record this video would take some time, but I'm doing it now because I know you guys have been asking for it. The one thing I want you guys to keep in mind before I jump into this video is that my hair type is really dry, really really dry, frizzy and curly / wavy. So some of the items or all the items I'm gon na be showing you are catered to that hair type. So if you don't have dry, thick hair and your here is more on the finer side, some of these products might not work for you and some might they're just like styling products. So just keep that in mind before you go out and purchase some of these items, because I would hate for you to buy some of these products and then be like Melissa that product really weigh down my hair. It was really heavy. That'S because I need the extra hydration I need the extra smoothing and those of you with fine hair might not need that. So keep that in mind. Let'S jump into this video, oh and I forgot to mention one last thing. You guys always ask if I dye my hair and if so, what color? I don't dye my hair. This is my natural hair color. I haven't dyed it for about six years. I was blonde at one point and then went back to my natural hair color and haven't dyed it ever since my hairdresser would describe my hair color as a chocolatey Brown for those of you who are interested and have asked for the specific color, because I know In photographs and on YouTube, it can translate pretty dark, but I think that I've gotten these back lights. You can kind of see that it's more of like that chocolatey Brown and in the sunlight. It does look really light and I have like a little like natural highlights and stuff um, so yeah. Now, let's jump into this video, so the first category I'm going to be talking about our shampoo and conditioners, and the one thing I did learn a long time ago from just visiting the hair salon is that you should never use the same shampoo and conditioner in Consecutive washes, so you should always swap them out so, at least at the minimum have two different sets of shampoo and conditioners that you rotate between I'm a little extreme, and I have three that's because I obviously get product sent to me to try out as well. So I like to try everything I like to dabble in a little bit of every single kind of hair product. There is out there if it's good for my hair, I'm willing to try it. So I'm going to go over the three different sets of shampoo and conditioners, and I'm currently using and rotating between the first set is the Phaedo moisturizing scalp exfoliating shampoo. So, along with having really dry hair, I also have a really dry itchy scalp, to the point where I've gone to the doctor before dermatologist. To have them look over my scalp and I do use a medicated shampoo that they prescribed me. So I use this shampoo as my daily, because it is exfoliating I feel like it gets rid of a lot of product build-up. Dandruff, all that yucky stuff, that you don't want sitting around in your scalp, because a healthy scalp does lead to healthy hair. And I usually paired this shampoo with my Carol's Daughter, sacred tra, fortifying conditioner. I absolutely love Carol's Daughter products from my hair type and they are very budget-friendly. It really detangles in smoothes out your hair in the shower, which leads me to one side note. I do try to brush my hair in the shower. Some people will say that it's bad for your hair, that it promotes more damage, but I feel like with how tangled my hair gets outside of the shower. It'S almost worse for my hair type to brush it outside. So I like to brush my hair in the shower when the conditioner is still in my hair onto the second set of shampoo and conditioners that I'm currently rotating through these are the Jeong Frieda Frizz Ease Beyond smooth frizz immunity, shampoo and conditioner with pure coconut oil. I absolutely love this shampoo and conditioner duo, especially because it has coconut oil. I just find that it works like a high-end, shampoo and conditioner, but it is also um. I don't know people would consider it drugstore, maybe drugstore you can find it at Target, pretty sure they sell it at CVS and Walgreens. I actually washed my hair with these products today, and this is the finish and the third set of shampoo and conditioners that I'm currently rotating through are the 24k Sally Hershberger get gorgeous shampoo and conditioner. These products come from my hair salon. However, they do sell them. I think on Sephora, I've seen them on Sephora calm. Normally, when I have an event coming up, I like my hair, to be like a day old, so it holds the style better. But there are those occasions when my hair gets super dirty and I need to wash it date of and that's when I use these guys. I just feel like I don't know what it is about them, but when I use these and then sell my hair the day out for an event, it holds my style really well, especially when used with the other 24k products, which I will mention later they're awesome And it smell really really once a week, I will use a deep conditioner in the showers, so this is a conditioner that I use in replacement of a normal conditioner. This is the Phaedo intense hydrating brilliance mask. I think you leave it on yet. Does you leave it on for two to five minutes and then you rinse it out? So it's just like using a conditioner. You don't have to wait around the house with your hair drenched in a conditioner and then wash it out. I really like the simplicity of this, and I find that it just brings back a lot of that hydration it just kind of restores my hair. I also love the hair mask from hello, hair, there's more of an oil, and you can rub it into your scalp, which is really awesome for my dry scalp, and then you can also rub it into the rest of your hair. So it's kind of like a double duty, so I really like that one as well - and I use that one once a week. So I know I just finished talking about a crap ton of shampoo and conditioners, but the reality is, I don't wash my hair that often especially for my hair type, I need the oil to really. You just need more oil in my hair because my hair is so dry, so I can go up to three to four days without washing it plus. It'S also recommended not to wash your hair every single day in order for your hair to get some of those natural oils on it. So with that comes dry shampoos and my absolute favorite dry shampoo is the not your mother's clean freak, refreshing dry, shampoo, a major issue with dry shampoos. There'S two that really bothered me one is that they leave your hair feeling really stiff and almost like. You can't run your fingers through that through your hair and the second one is that for a brunette it leaves your hair really great or white. So this one I find it doesn't do that it's really light and refreshing. It gets rid of the oil and lose my hair feeling clean. I straight from really far away like you're supposed to, and I find when I do, that it doesn't leave my hair, gray or white. It does, if you do it really up close, but it's easy to get rid of. It doesn't stay there. Pounds down. This is my absolute favorite dry shampoo. I get it from Target. I think it only costs six bucks. Now I'm going to be talking about weaving conditioners, which is also really important from my hair type, because I will eye on them to really condition and bring back that hydration post shower my current favorite and forgive me, but I love a lot of Phaedo products. I just find that they work really well from my hair, without weighing them down and they're, just really specific, like they target very specific hair types, which is probably why this is called Fito specific, because it's specifically for a dry, coarse, thick, hair type. This is the thermo perfect, 8, it's a sublime, smoothing care, heat protection, serum and it says on here. I think it does eight different things. Where does it say that? Oh here it smoothes it's heat protection, it repairs, anti breakage, hydration, anti frizz, softness and shine. So this product makes my hair extremely soft. I put it in my hair today. It just really, I don't know, lose my hair feeling very airy and soft and smooth - and I use it in combination with another product which I will get to in a bit. Another leave-in conditioner and this one's more so for my lazy days when I don't feel like combing it through, you know section by section: this is the 24k liquid assets daily conditioning remedy. I also feel like this one's a lot lighter on the hair as well. It doesn't the easy because it's a spray, so I can just like spray it all over sprayed on the ends and it also like all the 24k products. It smells really good and again for when I wear my hair really natural, I use something completely different and that's a whole another video monster on its own. So let me know if you guys want to see a video on how to weight your hair, naturally curly and I'll go over my routine for that. So now, before I go into some styling products that I use there's one last product I want to mention. This is the Phaedo botanical scalp treatment. When I say I have a dry itchy scalp, it's really bad like really really bad, and this I'm pretty sure. I think it has eucalyptus, and it's so so soothing I'll run this through my scalp section by section and let it sit there I'll even put it on and wear it overnight and it's so soothing. It smells really good. It just relieves that itchy dry feeling that your scalp tends to get so I highly recommend it this guy. I feel like it's kind of like a random product, but I'm glad I tried it's really good all right so now I want to talk about a product that I have been using for literally years. I think my hairstylist down in San Diego I'll link her down below as well she's the first person that ever like really worked magic in my hair. I feel like before I was kind of going to random salons and never really being satisfied, and I was skeptical to go to her because I had never paid more than like $ 20 for a haircut up until I went to her. But literally it was like life-changing and she's this product on me and it made a world of a difference for my hair and this product is the Phaedo botanical straightening balm, I'm pretty sure I've talked about it before in previous videos on Instagram on snapchat. This is my holy grail hair care item. What it does is it really smooths out my hair, so I think it says on here. Maybe on the box, it says, like the French blow out. This is a French product line. All the Phaedo products are, but what it does it just really smooths out my hair, it gets rid of the frizz. I find that when I don't use this product and blow-dry my hair straight is really difficult or just getting a really smooth. Blowout is not even possible without this product. What I like to do when using this product is combine it with the Phaedo specific, in my hand, as like a little cocktail and then apply it to my hair, because both of these together will give you this just really smooth a sleek soft hair. So if you have an issue with blow-drying your hair smooth or getting that really like pretty blowout fresh out the salon type of look, I highly recommend this product. It says it's for unruly frizzy and rebellious hair, so I think anyone who struggles with getting like that sleek look from just blow drying their hair will benefit from the for my hair. It is it's my everything alright guys. I think that pretty much sums up everything that I'm currently using plus some of my haircare tips like not washing your hair every day and rotating your shampoo and conditioners. Now, I'm going to show you guys how to blow-dry your hair and how I get my hair to look like this just from blow-drying it. So, if you're interested just keep watching first thing, I'll do straight out of the shower is wrap my hair in a microfiber towel. This helps to prevent any frizz and also, rather than flip, my head upside down and then wrap my hair on top of my head. I like to lay the towel flat over my hair and then wrap it up. I just find that it prevents any further knotting, especially when my conditioner gets rid of most of the knots in the shower. So then I'll run my fingers through my hair to separate my hair even more because I'm not going to be brushing it outside of the shower really and then I'm going to separate half my hair and place it on top of my head to prep it for Blow-Drying I'm going to be mixing my feet: Oh specific leave-in, conditioner and botanical straightening balm, also by feet, Oh to create that little cocktail I mentioned earlier and then run that through the bottom section of my hair and because I want the ends to be especially smooth. I'M also going to be grabbing my Sally Hershberger 24k dry oil and really working that into the ends of my hair, to create a really smooth finish to blow-dry my hair, I'm going to be using a really large round brush and I'm also going to be using. My t3 hairdryer, I highly recommend investing in a good hair dryer. It makes all the difference when blow-drying your hair, especially when you have my hair type. So I'm going to start by pulling the hair downward and make sure that this attachment then also that you're, seeing at the end of the hair dryer is attached to the dryer. It just makes the air flow a more targeted when Bo drying your hair, and you will notice a huge difference, especially when you're trying to create a really smooth and sleek effect. So once I get to the ends I'll flip the brush and place it underneath the hair to create that sort of inward curl or wave, I don't know what you would call it to give that really like flippy, fresh blowout from the hair salon, sort of look Once I'm done blow-drying the bottom half of my hair I'll release, the top half and repeat the same steps so I'll apply that little cocktail to my hair I'll apply the oil to the ends, but there's one additional step that I'll do just for the top half Of my hair so to create a really nice added volume at the crown of my hair, and just you know the roots, I will use my Sally Hershberger supreme volume mousse. I was never a mousse user. I don't really like hair mousses, but I really love this one. It just gives that extra bit of volume at the very top of the head, especially when my hair is really long and heavy. It can sometimes weigh the rest of my hair down now when blow-drying the top section of my hair, I like to pull the hair upwards to create that added volume, but then, when blow-drying the rest of the pieces, I will use that same downward motion and then Of course, when blow-drying the ends of the hair I'll again flip the brush, underneath the hair to create that inward curve. Once again, once all of my hair is dry I'll release the bottom half and continue blow-drying in that inward motion, especially towards the ends to create a really nice voluminous. Look all the way around, and this should be the end result once you're all done. Alright guys that completes this video. You know the drill if you enjoyed it thumbs up subscribe. So I see the next one bye, guys

The Di'Amore Family: You're amazing! Well, deserved Darling

Brittany McCrary: This is so informative in an understandable, attainable presentation. Thank you! I have the exact same hair type, just not as much hair. Same issues with dry itchy scalp. Carrie: I bought the two Phyto products you use for blowdrying and they're amazing! My hair isn't super thick, but it would get really frizzy and dry anytime I would blowdry it. I mixed them like you did and love the results. Thanks Melissa! <3

Jocelyn: Love love loveee this!!! I have been having problems with dry hair to the point where I have lost my curls :( but I found this video and we literally have the exact same problems: dry hair and dry scalp and we have the exact same hair: thick, chocolate brown, and curly. Stumbled across your channel and I love your stuff :) I have the same hair type (thick, dry and on top of that I have the better part of it bleached/highlighted) - I feel you pain :D Moisturising and blowdrying it is a tough battle... Just a question - I hear opposite opinions on whether the shampoo and conditioner should be from the same collection and I see you mixing up yours. Do you know if it is just a myth that they should not be mixed? I really like the John Freida Blonde shampoo but the best conditioner I've ever used on my hair is the Alterna Caviar RepairX which is up on the price range. I hate the Alterna shampoo from the same collection though so I'd prefer using the JF one :(

Natalie Warren: This video was so helpful!! I have your same hair type and I've struggled for years with finding products that will calm down the curls and frizz. PLEASE make a video on what products you use when you leave it naturally curly! Love your videos :)

I find myself constantly blowing my hair out straight because I don't know how to style it wavy without it A) looking like top ramen or B) looking like I stuck my finger in a socket. Or how to revive my natural hair on days 2, 3, etc. PS: Burgio is the best!! I picked up some Shu Uemura essence absolue at Hyde and its been a game changer.

Maya Rigby: Thank you so much for this video! I have the same type of hair as you, only not so thick. I want to start being able to blow out my hair straight without having to straighten it with a flat iron! I'm definitely going to try a few of those products and that hair dryer.

KJ: Girl, get the Batiste dry shampoo for dark hair, there's no white color and you can totally run your hands through it because your hair is still soft! It's my ride or die. Only downside is you have to repurchase it like every week and a half to two weeks because you go through so much of it so fast. I have a feeling you would like it!

Yasmeen R: I love your videos melissa!!!!! Have been following you from the start and even asked my friends to watch your videos❤️ i love you

MrsBrandiSherman: For my dark hair I use a 50/50 mix of cocoa powder and cornstarch.

Abigail Johnson: You always look so perfect! Your eye look is so on point!

Soraya Shawki: pleaaassee do a tutorial on this look. this looks fab

Stephanie Muñoz: This is a gorgeous makeup look!

An He: Please, please, please do the curly hair tutorial. I basically have the same hair type as you and I usually don't wear it curly cause I really just can't get it to where I like it. Congrats on 200k!

Jenn Mich: Your makeup looks so flawless beautiful ❤️

Lpg 8: Oops forgot to mention something very important, if you use a hairdryer with tourmaline and ceramic (infrared heat) you will see a huge difference in your hair. This helps it retain moisture and makes it shiny.  Dyson no good for your hair.

Paula Espina: I love your videos! amazing as always! <3

Charmaine C: Your hair is so beautiful it always looks so healthy! And your makeup is so pretty...will you be doing a tutorial?

Ylisha Ballesteros: Can you do a pamper routine and by the way you look stunning as always :)

Έρρικα Γερακίτη: You are so beautiful (agaiiiin <3 ). Please make a tutorial on this makeup look!! Also, try the Battiste dry shampoo. It is very lightweight! Trust me, I know because I have really long hair and I don't want my dry shampoo to make my hair look heavy

Giselle AA: Please do a makeup tutorial on this look pleaseeeeeeee

eeyore 1979: I have just sat and watched the whole video. Nothing unusual about that.......except I have ridiculously oily hair, so none of it was really relevant to me. That is how much I love you. Your hair is stunning. I just love your tutorials.

Amanda g: Second the Rec on the batiste dry shampoo- I use the one for red hair and it's great, no residue. Also have you tried getting a keratin treatment? Washes out slowly over a few months but is great for making hair smooth and manageable!

Rachel Blascovich: Can you do a tutorial on this makeup look please! Would also love to see a tutorial on wearing your hair natural.

serena moon: Awesome vid. I dye my hair with Henna, by HENNAHUT brand, I use the burgundy shade, it's beautiful and henna makes your hair strong and thick. Also having low porosity or high porosity hair does make a difference so look into that if you're interested in the most optimal hair care. I wash my hair every 3-5 days depending. So roughly twice a week. I used to wash my hair every day and I am so glad that I don't anymore! My hair is healthy and never greasy until the very last day when I actually wash it! Here are some all-natural cruelty-free shampoo & conditioners I love in order to lowest price to highest! Hope this helps anyone who wants healthy hair! - Desert Essence - Shampoo & Conditioner - Green Apple & Ginger (Or the unscented, coconut, etc, all their scents are great!) - Calia - Shampoo & Conditioner - Any kind by them is fantastic & it is a Canadian brand! - 100% Pure - Shampoo & Conditioner - Coconut // Mint Kelp

Taksina Akther: Your hair type is like mine. But now I've lost so much hair but still it's thick bt not like before :( anyways this tutorial is helpful love you!!! And also I love your makeup so tutorial on that too please ❤️ love you so much!

Nina Vidal: Have you tried a keratine treatment? My haor used to have pretty similar texture and keratine helped a lot with the dryness and the waves. Ot doesnt have as much volume as im used to having but in my case its ok since i have a lot anyway. Love your videos

Allison Rae Crochet: We have the same hair other than color. Please do another video for natural waves. -- You're hair always looks so nice!!

xorockstar411ox: please do a video on how you naturally style your curly hair I love your hair!!!

Crystal: I have the same exact hair texture as yours so these products will help me so much.
