What'S up y'all welcome back to my channel in today's video I'm gon na be styling Maya's hair in this very simple protective style. Yeah I mean it is ridiculously easy. As usual, I'm gon na start out on wet hair, I'm just going to spray the hair with water. Then I am going to add a cream. The Shea Moisture, coconut and hibiscus curling butter cream. I'M gon na use that as her cream - and I do recommend this product - it's very light - it smells great and um. It doesn't have a lot of harsh chemicals that some of the other brands have. So I do like Shea Moisture kids in case you're wondering - and I didn't show it in a video, but I also put some hobo oil on top of that cream and I got it from Whole Foods. Just a random hobo oil, any oil will do. I do like jojoba oil, though, because it most closely matches our own natural, save them, and it's really good for hair growth and healthy hair and all that good stuff anyway. So I'm gon na start by parting from ear to ear. So here I'm just kind of showing you the different ones in her hair. Her hair is still really short in a very, very back like at the nape of her neck. It'S still very, very short, but I'm gon na show you you can still brave, even when it's short like this, so I'm gon na do two rows of braids one on the top and one on the bottom and yeah. This is going to be super simple. So now I'm going to use the Blue Magic original superhero yep, I'm just using plain old grease. If you do not like hair grease, I recommend using Jamaican black castor oil in place of this. It'S just as heavy and it's just as moisturizing, and it's actually better for the hair and scalp. So now I'm gon na just braid this small section all the way down. When I get to the loose hair, I'm gon na switch from a braid to a two strand twist and the reason I'm doing that is because Maya's hair is very fine and yeah. I just I don't have time to be taking out these little tiny micro braids. So it's easier for me to twist it from that point and I'm also going to be putting some beads on the ends. Quite a few of you have asked me: do I like the crochet hook better than a beater, and I like them both but for Mayas hair? I like the crochet hook, because her hair is very short and hard to grip and for me, using a crochet hook to put her beads on it's just a lot easier, because the braiding tool is so long. So for journeys hair I prefer the beater for Maya's hair. I prefer using a crochet hook, so you can see here kind of the different lengths in her hair. As that midsection grows out a little bit longer. I am eventually going to cut it all even but for now I'm gon na just leave it be her. Hair is healthy, it is thriving and it's growing, but this this bad portion is just going a little slower than the rest of her hair. For this top row braid, so I'm going to do the same as I claimed that I that I did on the back portion and if you're wondering how I'm putting the beads on it is very, very simple. I'M just pulling down the last bead, putting a rubber band around it to secure it, and that's it. Oh, if y'all want a video like specifically on how to beat, I mean it's gon na be a really short video, but I will do that for y'all. If y'all need me to slow it down, so just let me know down in the comments if you want me to do that. So here's how the back looks like I said it's really simple and she really likes her hair like this. She loves beads and she was very specific in what she wanted so yeah. Now I'm going to use some eco styler gel on this top portion. I don't use gel a lot. I just don't like crunchy here this particular gel. It does have a firm hold, but it's not extremely crunchy or you feel, like your hair is gon na. You know, break out fall off or whatever, but if you don't like putting gel in your child's hair or you know using anything but kind of harsh chemicals, I recommend the Thalia with gin style and shine. It'S a cream and it leaves a soft hole. I use it a lot on this channel and that's usually my go-to, I'm not sure why I used to do today. I think it was just what was closest to me, but you can use either one I like them both now, I'm gon na just comb out her little ponytail and I'm gon na put four twists in the top. If your child has more hair you're, obviously gon na have to up do more than four twists. But, like I said, her hair is very fine, textured, so we'll probably gon na do four. Maybe five twists on the top put beads on the end, and that is pretty much the entire style. So now I'm just going to tie a satin tie around it to set the to set her hair. She only kept us on about 10:15. You want a hug! Ah, you can give them an imaginary hug. Ah, that's a good hug, alright say see you next time. Thank you so much for watching this video. You take such good care of your children's hair so I am curious about your thoughts on hair growth.
