http://www.aveda.com/products/5245/Col... Boost volume in fine hair with these step-by-step techniques from Aveda. Our Global Creative Director, Antoinette Beenders, provides an easy tutorial for an everyday look that won’t weigh down your hair.

Cleanse your hair with Aveda Pure Abundance Shampoo and Conditioner, which contains plumping acacia gum to help fill out fine hair. The refreshing aroma of jasmine and organic peppermint lifts your mood and the lightweight texture won’t add weight or residue. Holding the bottle six inches from your hair, spritz on Aveda Brilliant Damage Control to help reduce breakage that may be caused by heat styling.

At Aveda, we believe product plus technique equals results. Beenders demonstrates how to section off hair to target each area and apply Aveda Volumizing Tonic at the roots. Flip your hair upside-down to blow dry, adding body while you style. When your hair is about 60% dry, part it into sections again and use a paddle brush to hold hair taut while applying direct heat with the blow dryer. Wrap hair around velcro rollers and spray with Aveda Air Control Hairspray, drying with high heat on a low speed to set the style. Finish with Aveda Pure Abundance Hair Potion and remove the rollers.

[, MUSIC PLAYING ], Prep style, finish. Product plus technique gets results., Aveda., [ MUSIC PLAYING ]. Is your hair fine like Sarah's, and you would like more volume. Let me show you how to do. That.. We'Ve used Pure Abundance, shampoo and conditioner to add more volume to Sarah's hair. Pure Abundance makes fine hair appear to look thicker. So now we're ready to prep Sarah's hair for styling.. So if we're preparing Sarah's hair, we'll use Brilliant Damage Control., This will protect her hair from thermal damage, but it will also reduce breakage., It's great for all hair types.. So now we are ready to style, Sarah's hair., I'm going to section her hair off spray, Volumizing Tonic at the roots., And this is important because that's where we need the volume. It's much easier to style your hair in sections, as opposed to doing your whole head At once. We'll add a nozzle attachment onto the hairdryer and put the setting on high heat high speed. Next, we'll rough dry, Sarah's hair.. This will make the process go faster., But you can also blow dry your hair upside down to boost volume.. As you can see, Sarah's hair is already starting to get volume.. We could move right into using Velcro rollers.. However, if you want maximum volume, I'd recommend the next step. Starting at the nape of the neck, we'll section Sarah's hair again, and this will give us the best results. Now we'll brush Sarah's hair through with the paddle brush, underneath pulling the hair as tight as we Can, with the blow dry from above, we follow the brush very closely with the blow dry nozzle.. This will make the hair smoother and more voluminous.. We use this same technique on every single section.. Now we are ready for the final volumizing step.. We are using big Velcro rollers., Take a section of hair. The width of the roller then roll the roller from the end to the roots. Press. It down firmly to lock it in place.. Now that we have all the rollers in Sarah's hair. We spray with Air Control, hair spray to set Sarah's hair and hold the volume. We'll turn our blow dryer to high heat and low speed and heat the rollers. So this will set Sarah's style. [ MUSIC PLAYING ], Allow the hair to cool down, remove the rollers and then puff in Pure Abundance, Hair Potion., [, MUSIC PLAYING ]. Then we brush through the hair with a paddle brush and we're ready to finish. [ MUSIC PLAYING ] For our final step, we're spraying Sarah's hair with Air Control, hair spray for a flexible hold., [, MUSIC, PLAYING ] Prep style and finish with Aveda. [ MUSIC PLAYING ]

Jennifer Pyle: I have extremely fine, even thinning hair and the volumizing products that are recommended do NOT weigh the hair down. Most women with fine hair have been using bad products and are accustomed to them not performing as they should. Aveda products are amazing and absolutely deliver. As for the women complaining this takes too much time, you cannot acheive style without a little effort. Hair care isn't magic, it takes a little work and velco rollers are practically fool proof!

vgoth100: I have incredibly thin, fine hair and I love Aveda's pure abundance spray and air control....I usually hate most products, b/c I can't stand the feeling of even slightly sticky or weighed down hair....but these two products are awesome and with me having short hair, I'll probably take at least a year to go through the bottles....worth the price for me!

Aveda: Great question - it really depends on your hair texture and length. Just make sure you put the blow-dryer on low heat and allow the hair to cool before removing the rollers. ^ka

Aveda: Great question, Cassidy! If you first apply a product to your hair to protect from heat protection you are less likely to damage your hair. A great product would be our Brilliant Damage Control. If you use high speed/high heat you decrease the amount of time in drying your hair; therefore, causing less damage. To further avoid damage, hold the dryer a few inches from the brush and avoid sitting the blow dryer directly on top of the brush. We trust this information is helpful to you. ^ka

PoPhamsdotter: I tried these techniques but using the products that I had at home and man it worked! The volume held for 4 days!

Nicole A.: When you leave the heat on high and speed on high, won't that cause damage to your hair?

Finding Lemos: aveda products are not heavy and are perfect for any hair type so they will not weigh your hair down no matter how much you layer...also the purpose is not to wash your hair everyday (it's unhealthy) especially if you have fine, color/chemically treated hair.

Aveda: Great question — our new Pure Abundance Style-Prep can be used (on damp or dry hair) by itself to help detangle, condition and add volume, or in conjuction with other volumizing products for longer lasting volume. Be sure to visit Aveda.com to get yours. ^ed

C. bella: how long do i blow dry the hair with the rollers in and do i take the rollers out right after blow drying? thanks.

Abby Mai: I love Aveda products!!

BlackAndBlueStainz: Three products is not a lot, no matter the texture of the hair. All of the products used are very lightweight. One of the most overused MYTHS I hear: "I have fine hair - I can't use that much product!" Fine-haired people aren't doing themselves justice by believing that they can't style their hair from start to finish.

theSilkRiver: If you have longer hair, it works. (: just don't have your layers to long or anything

iutub8: wow,Sarah is gourgeos:) And the hairstyle fits her perfectly:X

MellyBJelly: Her hair IS fine, but she also has quite a lot of hair. My hair is less thick than hers, and would be flat within an hour:P Also, that is quite a lot of product/effort to use for an everyday look.

BeitelGeuse: I personally feel that this is way too much heat for fine hair. Remember that fine hair gets more damage much faster than thicker hair.

Breeze Georgetown: love this video..learn so much

Seasandstar1829: does it hold in all day?

Tommy Hartman: Add your products one by one and ask you stylist how to use what you have at home until in runs out. Shampoo, set, and finish products come in at least 3 parts for best results.

socphd81: Very nice!!

tryhrt eryrr: It's a great way to add some volume onto your hair, but man... it takes timeeeeeeeeeee.

RochelleSunflower: Cant stand too many hair products in my hair. Makes me feel grubby like I want to wash it all out.

5kayy18: The product she is using is very light , you wouldnt even feel it in your hair it will just make it feel and appear thicker , and with fine hair it actually dries quicker than thicker hair , it should only take 15 min tops !! thats with a good blowdryer

Isä O: can there be an easy way to get volume without all these steps??? i have very fine straight hair and i dont wanna do these steps cuz one day schools gonna start again and i dont wanna wake up extra early just to do this ( i like to sleep )

Avi Cabrera: This cant work for me for everyday takes too much time and requires too much product.. more than i want in my hair at any given time

doubtfuldreamer: Very nice but not practical for every day. #1 girls with fine hair cannot use that much product and #2 not all girls have time to do the roller step, which is really where the volume comes in

Javivi: I don't know why... but i feel like AVEDA want me to buy their products ....

akanksha pravin: ❤️❤️❤️

ucmutt: Thank you

5UNNYR4Y3: sure, it adds volume...but it's a ridiculous amount of time, and product--product makes my face break out :(

Lacehairwigs: too much work.a big round brush then pin curled till it sets is faster and works the same

rach0babe: she has a great hair color

Strwbryicecream: I can't even brush my hair from root to tip when it's wet... b/c truly fine hair tangles like sh*t... so I wouldn't be able to brush anything through my hair until it was dry

Laura Ke: Are these products without parabens, silicon and sulfate? Also have thin hair and Looking for a good New shampoo conditioner and style products!

Aveda: @shigureism - Finishing with Aveda Air Control won’t weigh your hair down & lasts all day. Find it online at Aveda.com. ^ed

Bells: too much work, I would never be able to do it myself :(

Isä O: @soapjen thanks!

Clara Knott: Which rollers are those please

Nikki's Crafty Life: This is way too complicated, and the result is dated looking.

Ann D.H.: those rollers get stuck in my hair

Izzie♡: what are u talking about her hair is perfect

shoua yang: TOOOO MANY products in my hair.

Notyourgoodies: and #3 lets face it, your average girl cant afford all these products :(

89zephyr89: her hair must feel disgusting ....

BlackAndBlueStainz: What are you basing your assumption off of?

Blue: way too much heat, Way to much product.

Marcella Wallace: yeah except my hair is 3 times longer than this girl's... and I'm a broke student, so...

MadE: and that don't really works for long hair

Julie Chen: this looks like too much work, too much product, and too much time put in for everyday

Ok No: what was that at the end

Ayesha Chughtai: :S so much work? just blow dry your hair upside down.. and some hairspray and done!

cee veril: lol, why?

REEMA 33: Actually I don't like her hair

Lola Moe: Excuse me but has anyone seen my cat? He's missing
