In a world where textures collide, there was a battle between waves and curls right here on the means by mel youtube channel. What'S good everybody welcome back to the channel, i am your host, your main girl mel, i'm, a hair, stylist, curly, hair specialist and your hair guru here to help train you to figure out your routine, which i have done with these queens today. You will see how she and my sis that's great video game, absolutely man, it's a battle. Okay, it's a battle. Man both style, their wavy versus their curly hair routines using the same products. They really said we're not so different. You and i see we're not so different - you and i perfect so stay tuned to learn how to tweak your routines, including learning about the right product type, the right amount, styling technique and tools to use for your hair type and now, for a little background about The products they are going to be using here we have the new drugstore line twist by we dad, which you may have already seen in a first impressions review. I did on this channel a few months ago and we're so excited to partner with them to share with you the products that we think work the best for all hair types. They are also very affordable, coming right up, so without further ado, let's get to it. Your hairs are drying. Okay, get the spray bottle a little background of our stunning models. We have the i'm amanda mel's curly sister, i had extremely damaged wavy hair, or so i thought up until about three years ago, when mel and i started this youtube channel and started to properly care for my hair, i'm tiffany mel and amanda's wavy cousin and i Have been wearing my hair natural playing with different routines over the last year, it's so easy too that i'm so glad i started this a year ago because it just makes my hair feel so much better and healthier before we begin styling. We made sure to, of course, wash our hair. We both use the light clarifying shampoo and followed with a deep conditioning mask. This is twist sunday feels deeply hydrating hair mask from their extra moisture collection. We left this in for about three to five minutes and rinsed, and now we're ready to begin styling. So on my damp curly hair, i typically start by prepping my hair with a leave-in conditioner. This one is from twist it is their curl goals, moisture, locking, leave-in conditioner. This is from their extra moisture line and you can see the level of moisture that's labeled, on the bottle of every product here. So it's about a three to five. When it comes to moisture - and it also has some rice proteins in here - which is really nice - because it's going to help - strengthen and fortify the curl and bounce in my hair for the perfect protein moisture balance preparing the hair is like priming your face for makeup. You have to prime the hair for all the styling products you're about to put on this is a leave-in conditioner. It'S going to give nourishment to her hair as well. It'S going to provide her with long-lasting, moisture, long-lasting, juicy curls, which we want, so we don't have to wash and restyle our hair every single day. This gives us the longevity, and it's also going to allow her to detangle her hair with ease so that when she goes in brushing, there's gon na be no no funny business. Okay, so my hair is soaking. I just went and dipped it in the sink because it got a little dry and i like to style with my hair with soaking wet hair, because it's soaking wet you hurt her soaking wet because i find it works best. So now i'm gon na apply the leave-in conditioner as well. This is the same one. My curly sister used because it's really not about the type of product. It'S about how much you're using you may notice. Tiffany is not spraying nearly as much as my sister amanda, because with wavy hair it can get very easily weighed down round. One is now complete. We have our prep products in notice. The main differences so far is that amanda's styled with her hair, it's wet, but it's not soaking wet. Then there's tiffany. Her hair is literally dripping as it should be ma'am if she wants her waves to look super juicy moving on to round two styling. So now, as my one and only styler, i'm going in with the curl defining gel, i use about this much not too much. This gel is pretty creamy and i like to put it on with my head flipped upside down, see how this is a gel. She can actually brush through her hair, like she said this gel is very creamy and for hair that is actually wavy and can get easily weighed down with too many products. This is the perfect one and done great to go on top of a leave-in conditioner. To add that curl definition and hold and everything you need from your styler, it feels very comfortable in the hair to even brush, through which we usually don't do with the gel, so tiffany's tool of choice here is the denman brush. This is the d3. That'S looking a little funky if you notice she has a couple rows removed. What happens when you remove rose from a denman brush? Is it releases the amount of tension, so the brush won't pull and tug so much on the hair that could brush out the waves while still clumping the curls together to get these juicy chunks? So after i finish brushing it, i then go in and start to. Scrunch, my hair, oh, can we get it? That is amar, though at this point is when you can really see those curls coming back together. Brushing can always look super scary in wavy hair, but once you scrunch and squish, and squeeze all that product to marinate the hair just comes to life. Oh, this is looking fantastic one eternity later. How long do you think you scrunch for only a couple minutes? It has now been two hours and tiffany is still scrunching. No, i like to just scrunch for a couple minutes, because that's how i make sure i get the best possible curls or waves, as i can. No clump gets left behind nope, oh and now she's, taking her damp microfiber towel that has been around her shoulders and on her hair to really absorb all that extra moisture. So, in order to plop the first thing i do is put my towel down on a flat surface and then i slowly begin to lower my hair down into the towel, while gathering the rest of the towel and start to turn it and then flip up after I flip it over. I tie it to secure it at the back popped. Then i stay like this for about 15 minutes until it's time to diffuse. How is amanda going to compare with her routine when styling my curly hair, i like to start by styling it in sections and using a curl cream? A styling cream is really important for me because it encourages extra moisture and helps me control the curl. A lot easier because of the texture of it, this one is twist weather up super light, styling lotion. It is a part of their extra moisture for curls line, although it's extra moisturizing. This as well, is super lightweight, and it also has a little bit of proteins which is going to help encourage that balance. Once again, this is because coarse hair, as the strands are very thick, can be a little resistant and in order to actually hold them down and control the frizz that can really occur on coarse hair. The cream helps to fully coat and just give that long, lasting moisture. And if you have thick hair like me at home, or even if you don't, i really find it helpful to apply styling creams and begin styling using a brush. If that's your preferred method of styling in sections and just allows for a better hair day, in my opinion, sections are super key for curlies, because you have so much more curl and texture to the hair that, if you really want to define all of it, you Need to section it and you'll see this in compared to our wavy, who doesn't need to go in with as many sections what determines this is how many clumps your hair curls into, and the curlier your hair. Like my seats there or me the more sectioning, you will need so i'm using a brush today. This is from tangle teaser. All those skinny little teeth that are on this tangle teezer wet detangler, really help to smooth all those baby, little strands that we see in curly hair, especially as wet frizz, so for the ultimate smoothing and curl clumping and frizz control styling with a brush with many Teeth like this, especially on hair, that is curly, is very helpful, and after i've worked through that section with the brush, i always make sure to give it a little bit of a scrunch before moving on to the next notice, how amanda just added more product to Every section that she has sectioned, she continues to apply more to make sure her hair from root to tip is saturated. As you can see these queen styling, they both have a lot of hair. The difference is the amount of curl and the hair texture, not the curl type, but the hair texture, amanda's texture is coarse, so each individual strand is thick, whereas tiffany's hair is more fine and this is what's going to help to determine how much product you are Going to need and the reason why sister curly amanda is using more and an additional product on to the last section here. Sister has taken quite some time now, not really. This is taking about 10 minutes total to apply and when i'm styling the top section here, i like to take small diagonal sections along the top of my head. I'M taking 90 degree angles along the top of my head in order to get a lot of lift and volume at the root without getting a strong defined part and to finish off the styling process. I always finish with a gel today: i'm using the weather up, weightless curl, defining gel this one's really nice, because it does amazing and humidity. This is a part of twist light, moisture line, so the difference between this and the other products that i was using is that it's going to give a nice medium hold, which is going to give a lot of nice definition to the hair without the crunch, which Is what we love or what i love in curly hair, and when i'm applying my gel, i like to first distribute it throughout my hands. Just like this, you can see this product is super super creamy and it makes it really easy to distribute and when i'm distributing gel, i just like to use a praying hands, motion and just kind of distribute it and lightly glaze it over all of my hair And to finish, i'm just going to scrunch everything, and now that leads us to the end of round two. Both of you beauties have your styling products in you'll notice round. Two was a little bit lengthy, because round two is where the meat was. That is where we have defined our curls set the curls in place. Now. Remember you brought up a very interesting point about gel and how it is essential for curly coily wavy. I feel like for all textured hair gel is definitely a key product that i feel helps create a longer lasting style so that you don't have to style your hair or deal with frizz as often as you would normally, if you're just using a cream tiffo. What would you have to say about that gel compared to mousse, which is another product that many people with texture can use to add volume and hold to the hair? What'S your experience as a wavy bin like so, i prefer to use gel a while ago. I was using mousse and i found that it made my hair very like crunchy, and it felt very like hard, like i always had like hairspray in my hair, but when i transformed to using gel, i never felt that way and it always feels so smooth. And i like gel a lot more because it just makes my hair feel a lot lighter as well, because the mousse felt like it always just weighed it down and transparent transform you did now. I do want to add on that note. Some people have the exact same experience, but with gel, some people are anti-gel because it can make their hair very crispy and what it really comes down to is if your hair is more wet when you are applying, if your hair is more wet and has more Cream, slash conditioners in your hair before applying your gels and your mousses, it won't be as crispy. Not all gels are crispy and not all mousses are crispy. It'S just about finding the right one for you. Let'S see how the crispy crunch looks in your hairs. Now we're going to get into the drying phase. Tempo'S already got a kickstart on that. Let'S see what we're looking like, underneath the plop okay. So now, i'm gon na start diffusing my hair yeah hold on tiffany miss wavy queen. I have a question for you. Yes, along your way to your journey, you know again, it's been about a year that you've been styling, your hair, wavy yeah. Do you ever add extra, gel or mousse at this stage in your routine after plopping? No, i never add anything afterwards. You just go straight and straight to use yeah now here's a hot tip, because you can apply more product now it it doesn't need much, but you can either go in with more gel or mousse for a little extra scrunching. It'S going to help keep those clumps together and if you find your hair falls flat easier. This is just going to help reinforce that hold now that all of that water is absorbed what happens with the water, and especially once we have plopped. You have really diluted your product and scrunched out any of the excess water and weight that is going to weigh down your hair. Now your hair is like almost dry. It'S weightless scrunching in a little extra gel, will do even more for you, i'm going to show you how you don't need much just a touch. I would just put this on wet hands and just kind of emulsify this in between your hands and scrunch, that in just scrunch and now, i'm going to start diffusing and i like to use the hot temperature at the high speed, because i find that works best. For me, and what i like to do, is i like to start by flipping my hair upside down tiff with the diffusing techniques she's hitting those roots? First, we always want to dry the roots first, especially since she's had her hair in a plop. Her roots are very moist right now and for scalp health. You want to make sure that they dry nice and first and she's, actually getting a little massage in there with the diffuser and once after the roots are nice and dry. The ends have had a little bit more time to set with that gel and look at her. She is scrunching away, scrunching, away, lift, hold and repeat to fully dry her wavies, so before my hair is completely dry. I just like to flip it all to one side and then the next side and just diffuse for just a little bit longer to diffuse my hair. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes. That'S because half of the dry time was done by the pop and to dry my curly hair. I always prefer to diffuse my curls because number one my hair takes 7.5 years to dry and number two. I always love the volume and the bounce that diffusing my curls gives to my hair. When i air dry. Not only does it take forever, but i noticed that there's not as much definition not as much bounce and volume in my hair, and i get just that with my diffuser. So i always like to start on high heat and high speed hovering at my roots. First and then, once my roots are about 70 dry i'll turn the heat down a bit and begin to scrunch until it's fully dried and if you're wondering diffusing. My curly hair takes me anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes. Applying our oil and serum would be round three, which is finishing so once i'm all done diffusing and it's all dry. I just like to go in with the multi-use miracle. Oil just a little bit. Oils and serums are some of my favorite hair products, not only on my wash day to help seal everything in break a little bit of that cast which, by the way, is about a medium hold, but it also helps add shine to the hair plus. It'S also something that i will reapply throughout the wash week to help again add shine and reduce any frizz and fly aways that i will get throughout my wash week and then once i've applied the oil, i'm all done and that's the end of my routine. Oh, my goodness, wow wow, you look fabulous, i feel fabulous, so this is it. My hair feels really good. As i said i like gel, and it doesn't feel crunchy at all. It feels really nice and smooth, and i just love the way that these products make my hair feel they don't make them feel heavy. They don't weigh me down, they just feel light and bouncy, and i love the way it looks cause. It'S so easy too that i'm so glad i started this a year ago because it just makes my hair feel so much better and healthier, and it makes me look so much better and here's my end result. I love this routine because it's so lightweight my curls are so bouncy. You can see just by the root volume that i have on my hair and because of that really perfect protein moisture balance that i got from a lot of the products that i used today. It obviously worked really well for me, because my curls are really defined and clumped together. Now that we have finished three rounds have been completed, we have now seen a wavy versus a curly hair routine using the same products. Just different amounts, different techniques, different tools, same fabulousness, come on, give it up for the girls you're, both winners here today. Thank you. Manes by Mell: HOLY MOLY THIS HAS BEEN A LONG TIME COMING, A YEAR IN THE MAKING!! Incoming more wavy hair content featuring our very own wavy cousin Tiffany!! Give her props and love in the comments and drop any other tips you have!! Thanks for watching ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Penelope Toledo: Thank you so much for this. You’re literally the only influencer that actually cares about the wavy hair community.

queenliviam: As I wavy girl, I've always aimed at curlies and wishing my hair would curl up more. I love that the message of this video is that all curls and waves are equal, yet different and equally beautiful. It's a lesson that I have to learn myself. P.s. Yesterday I accidentally plopped for a lot longer and my washday got a huge benefit, I guess I need experiment more on that.

Trish Pipkins: That's really helpful seeing someone with wavy hair. I absolutely have curly hair after seeing this. Mel you're a genius for not using the number and letter system because everyone's hair is different and can have a range, like you've said in the past.

Madison Gale Jessop: Thank you for not worrying about the stupid “curly numbers” they can be so toxic! People think they deserve certain praise for being “curlier” than others. Loved this entire video! Love y’all!

Nat Oh: I’d love a maintenance routine for wavies. Like Tiffany’s hair my hair loses all shape by day two and is hard to put up or restyle because the gel makes it tangly. So I just end up looking a mess after than initial day. :/

Ana Maria: For wavies out there watching this video, I suggest trying "micro plopping" if regular plopping is giving you wonky clumps. Micro plopping takes out excess water and product without the worry of strange looking waves or curls from sitting in a weird position on the top of your head. It really does make a huge difference!

Sophie Lafleche: Amanda's hair is INCREDIBLE in this video. I think that's actually her best wash day I have seen in all the videos. I also love how Tiffany loves and embraces her waves rather than be frustrated that they are not "curlier". I often see too many wavies get frustrated with their texture that it isn't curly or clumpy enough rather than just enjoying their own beautiful texture.

Emily: You have truly made this a place where anyone with some kind of wave, curl, or coil is welcome. I’ve never seen that anywhere else. My favorite styling technique is more mental. It’s reminding myself to celebrate my unique appearance. I was never taught to dislike my hair or appearance, it just wasn’t something that felt okay to celebrate. You do that here!! Do you have any advice? After 8 months (covid) I’m finally going to the salon in 3 days. I’m doing what I swore I never would do again, get bangs! But want to style them curly. I’ve never done that, but your finger coiling helps give me confidence. I think you were the first person with similar texture to me who I’ve seen with curly bangs. I used to encourage what curl I had back then on the rest of my hair, but try to flat iron my bangs into submission, which never worked. It’s been years since I had bangs. My hair used to be just a light wave, but it keeps getting curlier regardless of cut or styling methods & I’m thrilled. (Aside from the covid damage). I know my waves will return to curls when I get my major cut. The curls just make me feel like myself. My stylist is a friend & we work well together. I’m just nervous for bangs! I have pics for her, but I’d welcome any advice. Thanks Mell & Amanda for all the hard work. Tiffany, you look amazing & it was so fun to see you in this week’s video. I hope we see more of you!

Kat Tovar: Yes! I love when you do Wavy hair, you have helped me so much with my hair! Thanks, Mell!!

Amy Stanley: Oh the comparison for wavy hair is so helpful, thank you! I'm still experimenting, but what I've found is that "curly method, but a bit less product/ diluted/ gentler" works for my hair (wavy, fine but not thin- lots of it)

Tiffany Guido: Omg this is so awesome !!! So thankful to have been able to be apart of this again!! Thanks for having me on, and allowing me to help all the other wavies out there Love you both ❤️❤️

Floridameerkat93: Your cousin had great definition when in the styling stage, but after plopping, it looked like she lost a lot of it. Has she ever tried skipping the plopping step and just air drying for a bit before diffusing? Or moving from styling directly to diffusing so her hair stays upside down until its fully dry?

imyourhappydrug: Also forgot to mention if you have a looser wave pattern e.g. 2A, I have heard that damp styling works better than soaking wet styling because the weight of the water can stretch out waves. In this case start drying your hair however works best for you then once your hair is damp rather than wet, apply small amounts of gel (because damp hair has less water in it and thus requires less product) evenly all over (rope or prayer hands works for this) and then scrunch it in. Then do a resting diffuse (lean head on a towel covered mattress and kneel with something to support your knees then hover diffuse roots before pixie diffusing the ends. The resting diffuse is another way to prevent water weighing down and stretching out waves. Note that damp styling means thinner wave clumps. If big clumps are your jam then you can apply a hard hold gel to wet (not dripping) hair instead. A soft to medium/hold gel will not work as well for wet styling, for looser wave patterns you want to really lock them into place.

Andra: I would like to see more styling tehniques(and the effects on each curl type).Like squishing,no brushes, wash now style later,up and down styling, upside down vs right side up etc.I think would be nice

Wandy Gonzalez: Amanda's hair is beautiful. Cant believe how curly it has gotten. Both girls look great!!!!

Tamara Pace: I'm 54 and just learning how to take care of my hair! I'm between wavy and curly so this video really helped. Seeing the visual and getting all the great tips was something I needed. My hair is very dry. The key for me is to take time getting my hair wet. Each strand needs to absorb water. For each person saturation takes different times. Saturation is key in starting off a great wash day and week for me.

Gianna Galletta: LOVE! My hair is still transitioning from an INSANE amount of damage, so the bottom six inches are like Tiffany’s hair and the upper part closer to the roots is like Amanda’s. It’s curlier and the strands are more corse. Makes for very complicated styling

Carmen O: THANK YOU for this! I am a wavy, and although I still get good tips from watching curly videos, this totally confirms that my modified routine is what is best for my wavy hair.

Lindsey Cohen: I’d love to see you work on low density, thin and fine hair. You girls are blessed with amazing hair whatever the texture but please do something for my type of wavy xx

Brittany Wynn: I loved watching this routine comparison! I’m a wavy too, Tiffany! My hair ranges from 2b to a few little areas of 3a so it can be super frustrating styling my hair because it looks different—my front/upper layer is a looser pattern than the under and back part. I loved the tip on adding more product after plopping, I think I get frizz when diffusing because some of the product is gone. Styling on soaking wet hair has been a game changer though! Please do more of these videos for wavies! We have our girls out there, but they are much harder to find.

J. Tormey: Anyone else get " Shining" vibes when Amanda and Tiffany were practicing their" not so different" line?? Maybe an idea for October, a spooky curl-a-licious theme?

Jenn Zobel: Alright, I'm starting my wavy journey....excited and nervous! I've thought I've had straight hair for 33 years LOL. I'll report back ! Thanks for all of the GREAT videos!

Tanairi Mastarreno: Yessss Tiffany! Your hair looks awesome! Thank you for sharing this video once again, because of you I am able 2 help my wavy hair friend on how 2 do her waves!! You guys are amazing ❤❤❤

Amanda Berry: So happy to see more wavy hair content!

Roisin Swift: Thank You this is really helpful for someone who has wavy hair.

daphne715bu: You girls are saving my life and my hairs!!! Thank you for all the info!!!

Alex Haluska: Yesterday, YouTube recommended your video where you show Tiffany her waves. I have supposedly straight and frizzy hair so I thought I’d give it a try and now, at 33 years old, I learned I have curly hair! I have actual ringlets! Thank you for your great videos, and especially your enthusiasm and great attitude :)

Gwyn Rose: I'm still figuring out my hair routine as someone similar to your sister but with a looser curl pattern. I thought I was wavy for a long time, but as im taking better care of my hair its getting much more curly. My hair is extremely short right now so I only have half spirals in most places but I'm really excited to grow my hair out and reach my full curly potential

baddiesinbowties: thank you so much once again for helping us wavies<3 i was wondering if you could try to do another in the chair with mell series, where you show us how you work with textures that are between wavy and curly? hopefully some of your clients would be willing to participate. i have fine hair with some loose curls/ringlets mixed in but mostly soft waves, with some almost straight pieces. would appreciate extra tips for people who have very mixed textured/patterned hair!!

Katy Claypool: I have tight waves (that’s a thing right?), but it’s super coarse. Like sewing thread coarse. This video was perfect for me because I feel like I fall somewhere between Tiffany and Amanda. Love the cousin content

Kiputytto: Growing up I hated my hair. I dry brushed my wavy hair because that's what I was told to do. I ended up putting my hair up so much I'm thinning on my temples. It wasn't until I cut it shoulder length that I realized I have beautiful waves. When I first started researching I always felt left out because I don't have really coarse, curly hair. A good friend of mine helped me come up with a routine for my waves but she also pointed me to your channel. I just wanted to say thank you for being inclusive to all hair types. I've been using light hold mouse but I think I want to try gel since I've noticed the mouse makes me feel a little crunchy. I've also wanted to try a diffuser and this has convinced me.

Lisa Mayes: Thank you for this comparison. I’ve been copying your seester’s routine because I think my hair is similar to hers. And it works great on 2/3 of my hair. But I have these stubborn strands in back that always end up straight and frizzy. I think some of my hair is just wavy. I plan to try the wavy technique on that part of my head and see how it does!

Diane Showers: Thank you so much for this! Due to medication, my hair went from curly to wavy. I now have to learn all over again how to do my hair. This shows the difference between styling methods and now I know what to do different. Always love, love, love your channel ❤️

Tori Simonds Art: Thank you so much for this video! I have wavy, fine hair. Your previous videos have helped SO much in knowing the products I need to use and how to defuse my hair. But I still was feeling frustrated not getting the results I wanted. THIS VIDEO IS A GAME CHANGER for wavy hair! Removing the rows from my Denman brush has helped so much, I didn’t know you could do that. And I followed EXACTLY what your cousin did and my hair has turned out the best it’s ever been! Usually it’s really wavy in the front, straight and frizzy in the back, and dry ends. So I would always I have to pin it back. Now it’s evenly wavy everywhere and I’ve started wearing it down. It looks so much healthier and moisturized. So ya the two main differences for me is making sure is DRIPPING wet in the prep phase. And then removing the bristles and brushing a little upside down, scrunching, then wrapping in a microfiber before defusing. THANK YOU!

Lisa Bertino: My hair is wavier than Tiffany's but I do a bit more gel after plopping and pre drying and you're correct, it gives more hold!

Marilyn Cubela: I wonder what would happen if Tiffany does Amanda’s curly hair routine, and Amanda does Tiffany’s wavy hair routine??

Lacey Myriah: This was SUPER helpful for a wavy!! I used to basically do a routine similar to this in HS sometimes & then never again lol. I’m giving it a try again today!

Elisha Pike: Just started my wavy hair journey about 2 weeks ago! Been using tips from you guys and hoping to get some cute waves

Amy Smith: I love this channel so much I finally have a good hair routine and understand my hair type. Thank you Mel and Amanda. I no longer have frizzy hair

Patty Patty: Happy Texture Tuesday Mell & Sister!! Always coming through with great content!!

Sara M.: I loved this video and I love you all. ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for the tips and it was great to see Tiffany again and how she has embraced her wavy hair is something beautiful to see!!

Leila Simon: I am just starting my curly hair journey and these videos are so helpful.

Ellen Noll: Thank you all, especially Tiffany!!! I appreciate you representing us wavies. I definitely need help with my wavy hair.

Tina T: Happy texture Tuesday! Love that your cousin came on again! My hair is fine wavy whirly and soaking wet definitely works the best for me. For diffusing I tend to mostly hover to limit frizz just like you showed. Your videos are so helpful! Thanks lovie!

Rachel E: You are both doing a great job! But more people, more textures please! I think it would be great if you had a contest where people uploaded videos, and you picked out a couple of people with a variety of different hair textures and helped them with their routine. I am in between wavy and curly and it took me over a year to figure out my hair. I couldn't have done it with your videos though and think there is something to be learned from every curl type!!!

Lina Mueller: I love that you're making videos for wavy hair aswell! I feel like theres still a lot of misconceptions when it comes to waves and their needs. Also, when I started wearing my waves, they were even more underrepresented than today and I sometimes felt like my hair wasn't enough, watching wavy hair youtuber really helped me though! Also that part when Tiffany scrunched for minutes was soooo relatable And with her Texture I think she might like microplopping a little more than regular plopping (it works better for me)

SaraEsperanzaa: Thanks for sharing all these great tips! I recently started working at a curly hair salon and I'm new to the wavy/curly hair routine (unfortunately the curly education at the school I went to barely existed) . I've learned so much in the last year and I just found your chanel and can't stop watching and learning so much more! ☺️☺️

Deanna: Happy Texture Tuesday!!! Intro is everything you guys are so funny!!! Love the twist products also!!! Much love and happiness!! Xoxo!!

Lynette Clayton: I love love love your videos and content for curly/wavy hair and thanks for loving on the wavy hair community! I've always had wavy/curly hair but have only just recently in the last 4 years been wearing my hair natural (meaning not blowing out my curls). I went gray about 5 years ago and my hair texture changed from medium to coarse. I would love to see your tips on how to treat and style wavy/curly gray hair. I'm guessing you don't have any gray haired cousins with curly hair but maybe a close friend or older relative :)

Elisha Pike: Finally got mine yesterday! Today was wash day and I followed this video as a guide. I think this is the best results I've got since starting my wavy hair journey

Myrna Thiessen: I loved this!!! Thank You! Please do more like this between curly & wavy hairs

Uncommon RD: Learned so much from this video, thank you girls! ❤️

Cat Bee the Dragon-Sidhe: AMANDA! Your hair is SO CURLY! It's just so beautiful! It's been wild watching your curly hair journey with your seester's expertise!

Martha Butcher: I LOOOOOVE this channel! So much amazing information and help for us curly girls!! I'm a curly like Amanda and my daughter is a curly girl like Mell. In the last year, I've given us both haircuts that didn't fail, and our hair has looked so much better! Thanks for this!!

K Hatfield: Love this! I originally started watching your channel to learn more about my 8 year old daughters 3b/3c curls and how to care for them. But now I’m trying to put down the hairdryer and flat iron and embrace my natural waves

Danielle Villanueva: Thank you so much Mel ! I really Loved this video with the step by step tutorials ! You’re all so stunning

Stephanie: I love seeing everyone's different wavy and curly routines. I feel like no one's ever looks the same depending on hair type or what kind of results you want. There is so much trial and error in finding what works for you. I have combo 2c/3a hair that is super thick and course. I will never take a brush to it...only wide tooth comb in the shower. I prefer to let me hair sit in a turbitwist for a few minutes before scrunching in leave in conditioner, curl cream, and a bit of curl mouse. I let it dry about 70% and then diffuse for 10 mins to get volume at the crown. I have tried so many other methods and this is just what works best for me. Love how everyone is unique. You all have gorgeous waves and curls .

Morgan Faranov: Yessss thank you for this!! Every other YouTube video I’ve watched on wavy hair simply has taught that all wavy hair girls are actually curly hair girls. They think that if you use the right techniques you’ll naturally just have curly hair but my hair was only meant to curl so much lol

karinac1999: Wow. I can't believe it's been a year already!! You ladies look great as always. And it's always fun when you have special guests. Oh, and your mini vacay looked like so much fun. Well deserved.

Nayomi: I loved it! ❤️ It would be great if you could bring the cuz more often for wavy routines, products and anything you can thing off, as some of us are still learning on wavy hair!!

Jennifer Weekley: As a person with hair in-between wavy and curly and also with fine texture vs course I have found that the best method is the least invasive. I use praying hands to distribute product and then what I call "paddle hands" to push the hair up to my scalp and then straight back down again. No fingers! No brush! Let the curls exist with the friends they naturally gravitate towards when soaking wet. Then I use a t-shirt over my paddle hands to get some water out as plopping seems to make my fine hair set wonky. The one issue I have is that my roots are not as bouncy as they could be... perhaps I'll try very light scrunching or a Denman but only on my crown/mohawk section like Amanda did...

Suzanne Vercher: WOW! Amanda's hair transformation is crazy! I love watching you girls, I wish I had you growing up so I could have had a better relationship with my hair. I'm loving my own transformation, thank you for what you do!!!

Elyssa Napoleon: Thank you so much for making this video! You have great tips to help me style my wavy hair!

Jorge Luis: Super helpful video! Shows a step by step detailed routine of how to style hair! Definitely will be trying out the products and routine sometime see how defined I can get my curls! Thank you so much for the work you do for the curly hair community

RebornRevolution: Thank you so much for this! I discovered my wavy/curly hair this year and have been following your channel for tips!

Sycamore Valley: My hair is between these two ladies hair - I LOVE that gel. I am using the TWIST 4-in1 for both conditioner and leave in, and the lighter weight gel - I love it! I want to try the gelee too (the medium weight one) maybe in the winter with cooler weather!

April Smith: Thank you so much for videos like these, I've stopped trying to fry my hair straight and am trying to love my waves. ♪

Stella Verkhnyatskaya: Thank you for this video! I have coarse hair and it is sometimes wavy sometimes curly, when I was looking for a routine example everybody with waves seemed to have fine hair that could be dried (or even on air) within 10 min! So none of that worked for me :( I was so glad to see Amanda’s hair on your channel! I learned from you to use sufficient leave-in and styler, I use a denman brush to style and obviously dry in high heat. Would be curious to know if it makes a difference that my hair was never colored, how much protein is needed then?

Veronica Wiese: Hi Mell! I am SO grateful to have found you! I grew up with straight Straight STRAIGHT hair..... until Menopause!!!! Now its waving and curling and spiraling on me! I'm trying to embrace my gray AND my curly waves (wavy curls!?) So your videos are wonderful! My hair is super long (lower back) so provides challenges. If you could address that I'd love you forever.

Karen Hamilton: I recently have been letting my white hair grow out. I’m 64. I didn’t realize my hair was curly. I have been flat ironing my frizzy hair. My stylist really encouraged me to let it go natural. You have been a big help on my journey. I had no idea about finger curling & scrunching. Thank you I enjoy your videos!

nikksterr627: After spending an ungodly amount on Ouidad products for YEARS I’m almost mad at how well the Twist products seem to work? Like…you could have just been affordable the whole time? girl.

powpowpaula: Love you gals!!! Love the side by side wave/curl tutorials ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Abi Rn: Loved that Tiffany joined you for this one! As a fellow wavy, I really appreciate it!

Nora Martinez: So glad I found this channel. All my life I've been dealing with "straight, freezy, not so straight, crazy hair!" I'm over my 40's50...both of my parents wavy/2b/2c hair. I didn't have a clue why I would get that WOW hair when on vacation to a humid place. About maybe five months ago, I saw a video about hair types and AT LAST, there's the answer! My hair, it's wavy, not straight!! 2b, long now, fine and beautiful waves! I completely stopped using the hair dryer to straighten it and the flat iron. Now my hair is so healthy and happy! I'm still in the learning process, it's not easy.

kei: i’ve been on my wavy hair journey for a year like your cousin! your videos have been extremely helpful on this journey; thank you so much! i like to use a leave-in, cream, and gel. i don’t like to plop, instead i microplop (scrunch out excess moisture with my microfibre towel) before i add my gel. also, i just recently figured out how to use my denman brush on my hair and i love it! i was worried i’d spent 20 bucks on a brush that didn’t work for me haha. thank you for the wavy hair content <3

Sarah Homewood: Thank you so much for including wavy hair, this helped me a lot.

aquarius3276: Thank you for this! I LOVE wavy hair! You all are beautiful ladies

Lora Beth T: I prefer mousse but I’ve been trying a lot of different methods lately… my hair has also grown like crazy since I have embraced my natural texture! It’s SO much healthier

Hannah Page: I am LOVING Amanda’s & Tiffany’s confidence in this video! ❤️❤️❤️

Hasnaa Antri: I was gonna stop straightening my hair and embracing my curls and I'm so glad I ran into this video as it made me realize I had wavy and not curly hair. Thank you so much, this is extremely helpful

Sarah B.: I really love this! Could you also do one for thin hair thays about chin length with a loser curl pattern? I'm somewhere between our two queens in this video and I struggle with what works for my hair..

Ashley Dubolsky: Thanks so much for this video. I appreciate the more affordable options for wavy hair styling. Can’t wait to try this for myself.

Reina P: The diagonal sectioning for the top of my head was such a game changer! You ladies are amazing ❤

Lily_of_the_Forest: This family is so fun! Blessed to all get along so well.

Lauren Zelazek: Yes!! I love when you also focus on wavy hair!! Thank you!!

switchnflik: I love the wavy content. It has been super helpful to find my routine! But I tired this line when I started my routine (couldn't find an entire line of curly products to start me from scratch that delivered- yay 2020). However, I found that I didn't live it. My hair looked alot like Tiffanys, stringy and kind of straight hair forced wavy, as opposed to more wavy/curly/staying in clumps, with other products. It certainly has it's place and I couldn't have started my hair routine without them, but I'd rather go not your mother's for an affordable product for my hair.

Darla Porter: Wow! This was great! Thanks so much ladies. Gel works best on my curlies! The oil after is key to making it last! Ive learned everything here, Mel! Love you!

Elizabeth Rodriguez: 1:27 cracks me up every time Thanks for showing me how I can do this with drug store products!

Lynzi Collins: Happy Texture Tuesday! Love the video, will be rewatching x10 as always :) Hope you're having a great day xxx

Cindy Witty: Thank u Mel & friends! I absolutely ❤️ this line ~ it’s friendly w/ all curly-wavy types. I appreciate you sharing ~

Stacy Harvey: Omg--THANK YOU for this! After decades of having stick-straight hair and doing lots of heat styling, my hair has decided it wants to be wavy...but only on the under side! I fell down the "curly girl" rabbit hole trying to find out how to style my newly-wavy hair and almost gave up. I found your channel and it seems like I finally have someone who can give good advice and helpful hints about products and tools without me having to sell a kidney to finance it all! (I did splurge for a Dyson hairdryer though; that thing is magic!) Thanks again, keep up the good work, and I hope to see more of Tiffany's lovely waves in the future!

sydney taylor: I love seeing the products on wavy hair!! Thank you side note: I adore the dress Mel’s wearing. Gorgeous!

Mar: Thank you for this! Do you (or anyone else here) have any recommendations on managing crown frizz? I have long 3a/3b hair and no matter what I do, there’s this layer of fine, frizzy hair around my crown that always ends up ruining the look of the rest of my curls. I’ve watched literally every single one of your videos and have tried multiple product combinations following the prep, style, and finish method. I’ve experimented with different levels of protein and moisture and cleansing techniques to get rid of build up. I always apply product to wet hair and use styling combs and products in sections. Have also experimented with different diffusing methods, air drying, and plopping but result is always the same. Also haven’t straightened or colored my hair in at least 4 years, and protect it at night using the pineapple method and a satin/silk pillow case but that hasn’t helped with that area either unfortunately. Any tips or recos would really help! It’s seriously driving me crazy.

Laura Espinola Hernandez: Amazing video, love it!!! I would also love to see a curly-wavy video, like a loser curl. Love your videos ❤

Just another curly girl J: Intro is everything lol. Thanks for all you do Mell!!❤❤

Purple California: Omg life saver! My hair is wavy like your cousins & I have been struggling trying different routines. I will try this one w/ less products in my hair. I’m excited I hope my hair finally looks good✨

Fun 'do's By Trish: Awesome video! I have never seen anything like this comparison in action. I am a wavy gal but also get tighter curl patterns throughout. I need to find ways to encourage the curl pattern more consistently so hoping these tips help with that!

Kristine Williams: Would love a video for those of us who have a combo of wavy and curly hair.

林英敏: This is exactly what I need I'm so glad I have found your channel, I'm a wavy girl
