Hey guys today we're doing a video that was requested by a lot of you guys, my favorites of 2017 favorite products. I haven't done this video in about two years. The last time I did it was 2015. I had so many products in the video that was the year that I was trying out a bunch of new things, and I really just wanted to give everybody like a roundup of all the products that worked. But I think it was a little bit confusing, because people are watching the video thinking that I used all of those products or that all those products were necessary to maintain natural hair. So I took some notes on my last one and this year I am only showing you guys, my absolute ride-or-die staple products there's a tons of good products out there, but these are pretty much my ultimate favorite. So I personally feel like my routine, is pretty simple. I really like to make sure that my hair is conditioned, and I have noticed over the years from adding in the steps that I do do for my hair care that my hair has been thriving. It'S so much more moisturize than it used to be back in the day, even though it was longer back in the day. If you go back on my older videos, you'll see that it isn't as moisturize as it is today. So everything I'm going to show you in this video I used on a weak, weak basis, except for one item, because I haven't blow-dried my hair in a long time, but I just wanted to add it in there just in case anyone out. There is looking for a product for good blow-drying. I gotcha alright, so we're gon na start from the beginning and work our way down. The pre-poo that I like to do. I don't have an aloe vera leaf, but a lot of you guys have seen that pre-poo is the bomb. I'M gon na link everything by the way that I'm talking about in the description box, for you guys, so you can check it out, but my favorite pre-poo of all time. I still do it. Oh, my god, if you haven't tried that you have got to try the aloe vera pre-poo, I'm putting the link for it in the description box. It is amazing, so that's my favorite people to wash my hair a lot of you guys know. I'M still doing my DIY African, a black soap shampoo, which is amazing, I'm so happy to hear so many of you guys have tried it and loved it. It is the best shampoo I have ever used. I like to make the shampoo as I use it. So I don't have any to show you right now, of course, I'll put the link for that video in the description box as well. It feels good on the scalp, it's medicating. It'S such a good experience. I promise you you're going to love it. Give it a try, I love it, then, to condition my hair, but mostly detangle it. I am obsessed with the Giovanni 50/50 hi reading conditioner. This conditioner is my favorite, as you can see, I buy it in both. I have four of these in my pantry right now: I'm not playing games guys. This is my favorite detangling conditioner. I used to be obsessed with the tea tree, tingle conditioner and that stuff is still really good, but if you want to like bring it up, just a notch, the moisturization up a notch. You got to give this a try Giovanni 5050. So good and again I mostly use this to detangle my hair, but obviously has conditioning properties as well, but yeah. It'S just easier to detangle my hair in the shower with this product, and that prepares me for the next step, which is deep conditioning my favorite deep conditioner, one that I haven't been able to find something better or cheaper. Is the Shea Moisture high porosity moisture mask? I buy this in bulk. Like I go to Walgreens and I buy, I buy it off the shelf because it just it makes my hair feel like butter, and I always use this with heat. When I go to rinse this out of my hair, it has completely transformed into this soft buttery deliciousness. You guys I haven't done an official porosity, Czechia and I've been meaning to do one for so long and I just keep forgetting, because I want to film it and then I have something else to film so always get to pushed aside. But everything about my hair and about the products that my hair loves is screaming, that it must be high porosity. I don't know, I don't know if you will like this product if your hair is low porosity, but I think that it's worth a try, oh and if you can find it on sale at Walgreens even better. Sometimes they have like a 50 % off go ham. Alright, so after I rinse all the deep conditioner out, it is time to prep my hair for styling. I always have to put a leave-in conditioner. This leave-in conditioner is the best leave in conditioner I've ever used. It'S the main choice, three-in-one leave-in conditioner. Now you can use this as a regular conditioner. You can use this as a co-wash or you can use it as a leave-in. I just as I was leaving, because it's kind of expensive and the thought of putting it in my hair and rinsing it out. When I could put it in there and leave it in there and have all the benefits throughout the week just hurts my soul in my wallet, so I only use it as my leaving just to preserve it because it is an expensive product. I think it's about $ 15 for 8 ounces, but it is best girl after using the deep conditioner and then this leave-in butter, a butter you will thank me, is the balm. It'S so do people say the balm anymore. It'S a snack. Is it a snack? That'S not the right way to use it. Ok, it's good! Ok, it's a snack! Give it a try! You will like it alright. So now that I hair is washed deep conditioned believing is in, we have to style this bad boy I'll do a twist out or I'll do like a wash and go. You guys know my favorite gel. If I'm doing a washing go, is the flaxseed gel I'll put a link for that in my description box, it's just super moisturizing. It'S really easy. It'S all natural! It provides a firm but flexible, hold on my curls and they last throughout the entire week. It is just the least expensive, most clutch best hair gel I've ever used and I've been using it almost since the very beginning of my natural hair journey. I think it's probably the second DIY recipe that I've ever posted on this channel and it has been a staple every year since so, if you haven't tried it give it a try, if you haven't perfected it keep trying, because this gel is really really worth it. I know a lot of people have issues with it flaking and I'm not really sure why. The only thing that I can think of is maybe the other product you're using with it. Maybe it's that that's caused an issue, but I haven't had any product problems with having white flakes in my hair, when I use the flaxseed gel, I always put a cream under my gels. Doesn'T matter if it's DIY, gel or one out of a jar always put a styling cream under your gels? I love my DIY mango buttercream. This is all I have left a link for this in the description box as well. I'Ll use this under my gel for washing goes, and I also use this for twist outs. You can really use it for anything. There is one other product that I have tried for twisting my hair and for sealing the moisture into my washing goes that I actually really love besides, of course, my DIY mango butter. This product is also a butter, it's by Anita grant, and it is the whipped butter lemon sponge daily leaving. Sometimes I do like to use this instead of my mango buttercream, you know. Sometimes you just want to switch it up, and this product is amazing. It smells really good like lemon. It'S super soft and creamy. I think it's a little bit expensive. I can't remember how much it cost, but this product is really really good too. So you know if you don't have time to make the DIY mango. If you can't find the recipe give this one a try, you guys will love it. So, let's talk about the edges. If you want to lay those edges - and I did a video all about these two products - I'm gon na put them both in this video because they're both really good. We have the moko dick got ela init accent, we have the girlís not gel, and then we have the cream of nature arguing oil. It'S not gel they're, both really good, this one's more natural, this one's, cheaper and easier to find it only find out on Amazon. In my area I had to pay 11 bucks for it, but a lot of you guys were letting me know that you do have it in your beauty, supply store in your area, and it was only for like 6 bucks. So that's awesome, I don't have it in my area, but if you can find it in your area, go pick it up. I do prefer the cream of nature over this one, but you can find this at probably every single target. So, if you're in a crunch, maybe you want to go for this one, I'm just gon na put them both in here cuz, I like them both still - and I was using this one for my edges prior to finding this one. This is my new love, though, so I only use these gels for my edges if I know I'm gon na wash it out within the next day or two days, because it does leave your hair really hard and it's very drying to your hair. I would not suggest putting this in your hair at the very start of your week unless you're wearing a protective style that you know you're not going to manipulate at all like if you're braiding, something and you know - you're - not gon na touch it until washday fine. But if you're trying to manipulate your hair throughout the week, don't go for these, I would go for a gel. That'S a little bit more soft holding more natural, and I still love the passionfruit control paste. This stuff has a really nice soft hold. It does not. Last all day, it does not last through humidity, like that. The other snot gels do. But if you want something, that's gon na work for most of the day and that will allow you to manipulate your hair throughout the week as you please. I would go for the passionfruit gel and then you know once you get closer to wash day go heavy with the snot gels, but this is still one of my favorite gels and then let's talk about heat styling, I have that blow-dry, my hair. In a very long time, but I do want to offer you guys a product that I really like and I used to use this all the time when I was blow-drying, it's the Carol's Daughter couple, wasu anti frizz smoothing a blow dry cream. I honestly don't know if this has been stuck anymore. The last time I checked, I couldn't find it Carol's Daughter. What'S up, did you discontinue this product? It'S amazing. I don't know why you did if you did, but if you can find this product, it smoothes my hair so nicely, and I've never had to worry about any heat damage or anything like that, and this is the product that I first used. Where I learned about cup washed, but I decided to put into my DIY mango cream so yeah, I really love this product. When I use this product, my hair looks better than when I Flatiron it on low heat, like it does that great of a job of smoothing? So if you can find it, if I can find it I'll, put a link for you guys in the description box to pick it up, I really hope they still sell likes. It'S so good. This is my last container of it and there's really not a lot in it. It'S a heat protectant. The very last thing we're gon na add to my favourite products list is just some rose water every time I use this in my videos. You guys ask me: where do you get the rose water? I just pick it up at Whole Foods and they have it in a convenient spray, bottle sort of spray it into my hair. And if my hair is like extra dry and I'm like remoisturize in it, it's just something nice to spray on it because rose water is more moisturizing than regular water, which is kind of weird. But the rose. Petals just adds a little bit more moisture to your hair. So if you you know, this is a luxury. This is not something that I do all the time, but if I'm feeling fancy, if I'm feeling extra dry I'll, give it a little spritz and it just makes my hair feel like butter again, so those are my favorite products, my rider dies. Of course, I have tried other products throughout this year, but these are the ones that I continuously go to every single week that, even though I try new products like these are the ones I come back to and they always make my hair feel amazing and they've. Just helped me to maintain really moisturized soft, hair and uh. I feel like I'm finally like in control of my hair routine, like I know what my hair loves and all these products work amazing. I will also mention that I am still doing no coconut oil, so all these products, I shown you - do not contain coconut oil. So if you have that problem fear, not all these products will work for you and if you do love coconut oil. These products aren't going to be any less than because they don't have any coconut oil and they just they work amazing, despite the fact that they don't have coconut oil and so yeah. I hope you give some of these products a try. Once again, everything is linked below for you guys to go check out shop. If you do give anything a try, let me know how you liked it in the comments or just find me on social media, and let me know so. I hope this video was helpful. I hope it helped. You find something great to add to your haircare, regimen and yeah. I will see you in the next one.

Chime (HairCrush): I must try some of deez! TFS! Your WHOLE look is so bomb BTW!

Azora Cash: I’m only 14 and I love you videos I do my own hair and I’m fully natural and you have really helped me through the tuff times thank you so much

Victoria: For all the people who are experiencing flaking with the flax seed gel. Your hair needs to be soaking wet almost dripping when you put it in your hair. Took me years to finally understand it, and now no flaking. I made the mistake of using it like the Eco Styler Gel, where you can put it on dry or wet hair.

Jaylen Patterson: It’s nice to see beauty gurus keep some of the same products. Whitney has been using that same brand of rose water since day one!

Honesty White: This entire look was on point btw

BrownCurl Beauty: I have been using your Aloe Vera Pre-poo on my hair as well as my daughter's hair for quite a few months now and I must say that pre-poo is the TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our hair has never been so moisturized and healthy. That being said everybody's hair is different and I love the vids.

beautifulL52: I am SO grateful that i found your channel!<3 You are my hair queen inspiration!! Thank you Whitney!!!!! Really from the bottom of my heart!

Enne Benenne: Coconut oil has always been horrible in my hair, but is amazing on my scalp. I stopped using it because it would smell rancid after I worked out a few days in a row, then stopped using oil all together since nothing else could compare. Been using it on my scalp again over aloe vera juice since seeing your 'moisturized juicy hair' vid. Amazing. ...that was long

I have a question though, I still use the LOC method. (LCO in my case) I use the Shea Moisture Jamaican black castor oil leave in conditioner, and the Mane Choice hair butter. But since you didn’t really go into oils in this video, do you have any recommendations for oils to use to seal in all the moisture?

Simmy T: Ever since you did that coconut oil vid, I did my own test and realized not only was it itching my scalp and drying my hair...it was making my face break out. Finding products without coconut oil is SO hard! Thank you so much for this list, Nap -- it's a Christmas miracle!!

Josll: "It's a snack" Omg I love you Whitney

Chanel M: Can we just pause and s/o TO THE EYE Mrs Nap is Rocking Bomb . Like OMG

Anita Norris: That shampoo is a hair changer! It's so good! I only replaced the argan oil and olive oil for avocado oil since my hair hates those oils (makes it straw like). Also doubled the essential oils since I love the tingles and the cooling feeling afterwards. Holy Grail status.

Chay Andrea: Yesssss so many good products and so many amazing DIYs. I love DIYs because you can keep track of all the delicious ingredients!

Bloodymage: Yo Whit! Love the video! For the Shea Moisture, they do have a low porosity line as well, I use that one a lot and it was a game changer for my hair. As for using aloe vera leaf to pre-poo, I should give that a go. I actually scoop out the insides of the aloe and put it in a big bottle with water and drink it daily, but one day I thought to try it for my hair and I swear...after a week my hair was so moisturized.

Cila Brandao: Loving your whole look today! So beautiful!

Kathy Boykin: I love it when you can finally say that your hair is "deliciousness". That's how I feel about my hair.

WaterBaby Kendra: Your hair looks so moisturized and healthy! I want to try that Aloe Vera prepoo. TFS

J Lenore Budgets: I have always had low porosity hair, however, I dyed my hair using a Shea Moisture dye kit and that High Porosity Moisture Masque was included. Honey, you are absolutely right about the way that stuff makes your hair feel. I don't know if the dye changed my hair porosity or not but I LOVE that stuff. I could not believe how good my hair felt. I will definitely be trying some of the other products. This video was perfect timing. Thank you!!

Nicole Humprhey: I love this video Naptural85. Gives me some new ideas about what to try. I can’t wait to try the lemon sponge. I need to make more black soap shampoo because I still love it.

Fortunada Hope: I’m a newbie on going naturally short and watching your video has really helped me.

Healthoverlength: I know you have your favorites but you may want to try the 24 hour edge control gel by Ebin. It’s so good! Hold my edges but isn’t harsh on them. This is my staple.

lifeisablessing: Your makeup is beautiful; so are you.

Imani: Girl! Your makeup is so damn beautiful! I love it & this video Whitney ❤️

43130ATT: Love the eye shadow! Do a tutorial on how you did those!

Rhanda Lopez: The EXACT rosewater is sold on Amazon for a good price, I bought a pack of three (8 oz bottles each - for $18 right now) a few months ago and I'm still on the first bottle. I pour some in a small spray bottle and use it as toner before my makeup, setting spray after I apply my makeup AND mist it throughout my hair when I feel like it's a little dry sometimes. It's AWESOME and smells great. I have 4B/4C hair and oily/acne prone skin. The aloe vera pre poo is the BOMB.Com, and yes I still say it. LOL I will be trying your DIY African Black soap shampoo. I appreciate you so much and have learned so much from you. God bless.

Markita Chatman: Girl you have the best hair tips! I still need to try the prepoo and the mango butter cream.

dteat03: Tried the Creme of Nature snot gel and it left an film on my hair that resembles fish scales. Tried Gorilla snot it left a flaky residue on my clothes that resemble fine dandruff. Both worked wonderfully but I am sticking with the Gorilla snot gel.

Carolyn Hunt: Hey, lots of good info. I have been hearing about the 50/50 condish and the snot gel. Will give the 50/50, lemon butter, and carols daughter product a try. You are amazing!

Danielle Dix: Thank you so much Whitney for doing this again. I’ve tried so many products I feel like I almost lost my way . You reminded me of two that I was in love with, but forgot about. I’m going to go get them TOMORROW. Do you use the same products for Olivia’s hair too? I have a 3.5 year old son (with long hair) and a 5 month old daughter.

L8ter Ivy: The Giovanni 50/50 is legit af. I mix it with my Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter deep conditioner because it has no slip and the giovanni got hella slip for days. I also use Giovanni as the C in the LCO method. It’s cruelty free. Contains vegetarian ingredients. Protein free and silicone free. Affordable and accessible. 10/10 you guys!

Sofbubble: Hi Whitney. I tried your prepoo with Aloe , and OMG !!! The softness of my hair after the rinse out. i take the gel out of the leaf and mix it in my blender so it s easier to spread it my hair ( was not fond of cutting the leaf in half and grind it on my scalp, not as efficient). just a question was your scalp tingly ? I am wondering if it s normal to have a hitch/ severe tingle while the aloe is on the scalp ? My staple oils are avocado, baobab, almond oil, castor and olive oil. Butters are Shea , Cupuaçu and Murmuru. I use coconut sometimes but i never made it a staple as my hair always prefered other oils. Plus i always altern as it s never good to abuse of one same natural ingredient. I am originally from the caribbean and from a small age i have seen all the natural ingredients that people in the US or Europe are discovering now ( Black castor oil , coconut oil, avocado etc...) For my shampoo i altern between, Rhassoul, SM low porosity and Camille rose ginger rinse. The first two are staples shampoo but i amd ready to try your black soap diy shampoo. With regards to DC ,☺️Obia naturals DC and Camille Rose Algae renew are above the Sheamoisture High Porosity DC (which i tried and is great but not as great. Even Maui Moisture heal and hydrate mask is way more moisturising in my opinion. Then you have a Kurlee Belle conditionner a bit liquid , i would say its even. As far as edge control i used to have Curl Passion fruit which i did love and was tempted to try the blueberry one until i came across Camille rose lavender white clay edge custard. This one is also excellent pricey when you look at the size of the container but certainly well worth it. And finally i only spray my hair with infused water, like nettle, cedar, bamboo or rose water. My hair just love them because they are really hydrating, antibacterial , anti dandruff and balance the scalp sebum. I recently my spray HG , Camille rose lavender spray. it contains glycerin which i flee in winter but this liquid on the ends of my hair only is pure magic ! An hold twist out or wash n go is instantly revived with compromising hair flexibility and softness. This spray is a real curl refresher/ enhancer. It s now a staple. I have never straightened my hair in the 2 and half years i have been natural so i could not suggest any product but if i come across that Carol daughter creme i make sure i buy it !! Thank you for your video, very informative as usual and it s alway a pleasure watching you !! By the way congrats on your fund raising. I did watch a portion of your live video for the Epiphany school. You guys were awesome !! Thank you Whitney ✊
