Sup guys so today we're doing an updated how I wash my hair from start to finish video. I know a lot of you guys were wondering like what's going on. How am i washing my hair, especially after I was talking about the whole water, only washing thing that I was going to be trying, and I never really updated you guys after that. So the reason that it took me so long to update you guys was because I didn't have a set routine. I was showing a bunch of different things to figure out what would work for me best, and I didn't want to tell you about those things. I guess until I knew for sure that it was working for me and that this was the routine, that I was going to be sticking with. So finally, I'm able to update you guys on my actual routine, what I've been using. What has been working for me. I hope you guys enjoy the video, and I will see you after you now. You so hope you enjoyed the video the link for the DIYs I use in this video are going to be in the description box, for you guys. I do use the african black soap shampoo weekly, so this is something that I'm using every single week. I hope this video was helpful and I'll see you in the next one. If you missed my last video, it was a DIY mango butter, hair cream, an alternative to my shea butter mix for those who do not like coconut oil and can't do shea butter in their hair. This is free of both of those you guys are into DIYs, and you want to check that recipe. I didn't click the link on top and, if you guys into daily vlogs, I posted my essence festival experience and it was so much fun at and I can't even describe it was just a good time. You guys wan na check that out, even with link on the bottom. Alright, guys I'll see you there

Aleah Joyce: I used this method on my hair yesterday, and it worked so well! my curls were so defined and soft, I love it!

Cleo Cleo: I love how simple and natural your routine is. That it's has nothing to do with product but the process !

Judith Kryztals: I remember watching you over 2 years ago when I decided to go natural, I was so jealous of your hair. Now we're basically hair twins =))) Thank you so much for your videos <3

Neo Soul: Oh and your hair is growing back fast!! It looks as beautiful as ever. You are so inspiring. I've watched you for years and I continue to do! Thanks for all that you do.

Shia's World: Thank you for this video I literally just washed my hair Friday, but I will definitely try this routine my next wash day!! I'm trying to get my hair to your length girl!!

Alexis Raquelle: You will forever be my favorite natural hair YouTuber you are the reason I went natural almost 2 years ago !

Afua Saafir: I tried your latest method and love it! Detangling was not the usual stress. Much less hair was lost too. Thank you for sharing your awesome ideas! We love and appreciate you, Whitney!

DolceMarimba: I love your videos! You actually inspired me to go natural 3 years ago! I love your routine and will be trying this since my hair is around your pattern and length.

Chay Andrea: Our hair is so similar I never noticed before! A lot of your routines work very well with my hair as well, I thank you for continuing to post quality vids :)

haroldshoney40: Love❤️ your tutorial videos, they make this natural hair journey just a little bit easier for me. Keep the information coming. Thanks.

Chels4hair: Girl you look so beautiful in this video, your make-up be on pointThank you for your videos their all amazing!!! I've been watching your videos for the past 5 years and they have helped me a lot. I'm trying out different hair routine's and this one is the BEST I've seen so far. It seems very simple and the result at the end are wonderful. I will definitely be trying out this routine and your more of your D.I.Y's. P.S. I love your editing design and music choice it creates the perfect aesthetic!!!

JaiProdz: This is such a treat :) It's always nice to see wash routines !

Tina L: I love this wash routine Whitney! It takes a little more time to do but it's worth it. Thanks for sharing it:-)

odessa timmerman: Hey Naptual 85 Thanks for sharing yet another great video with us and mostly because you show how much hair you lost after your wash to me that is major ... from day 1 of my journey I've lost that much on every wash but still have a full head of hair ... knowing that I'm not alone is great news to me ... though I was paranoid ...thanks again

TheRealKristyJ: Thank you as always for sharing! You are so inspirational and you motivate me to continue my natural hair journey...and btw...love the look and the lipstick color!!!

Candi Lashea: Thanks again Nap! Spot on video. Like how this shows a quick streamlined wash day. with tried and true products, moreover diy ones. Awesome, thank you for sharing :-)

MsElizabeth05212005: I just followed your steps ( almost) to the tee....and I'm already loving the results! THANKS!!!

Beloved Child: Thanks for the repetition in your videos. It helps me retain the info. You go over a process piece by piece just enough times to get it but not so much that I get bored. lol! I'm really appreciative of the thoughtfulness you use when doing these videos. Peace Whitney!

Kristen Wallen: I'm new to your channel and, I have to say, your hair is so beautiful! I recently did a big chop, and I'm not sure how to handle my hair, so I use your channel as a resource for some techniques and ideas and products to try. Keep up the good work! I love this channel.

A Ware: Thank you for showing your shed hair. I shed about the same amount. When I started using OGX Niacin 3 and Caffeine Shampoo, conditioner and Spray I saw less shed hair. None the less I thought something was wrong. But come to find out I was shedding a normal amount of hair. No breakage just shedding. My hair is still growing strong!

AnaVh: Thank you whitney for the detailed and stylized videos. First time commenting but i have been a huge fan for years. Just want to say that I think you are talented and that i hope the best for you!

Naomi: this is perfect! just about to wash my hair!!!

kerducky: Love the screenshot and video and I love natural hair maintenance videos the best...Whitney, you always make me want to go wash and style my hair even though I just washed and styled it lol ^_^

Fuller Wms.Evans: Whitney looks like my wash day. Man it takes me all freaking day to do this. I am a 4C girl, my hair needs special care. I love the black soap shampoo, made it for my friends. They love it. TJ conditioner is great, I have used it since you spoke about it years ago. I have tried all your DIY'S. You are just a great spoke person for NH community, keep up the great work.

menega: very interesting. i am a white european female with average straight hair and after watching this i swear i will never complain again about my hair routine. that is alot of work you are putting in every washing day! and your hair looks absolutely gorgeous!

Grow with KiKi - Life + PCOS + Urban Homestead: My hair goals! Your hair is so beautiful as are you ❤️ how often do you do this routine? Also, how often do you trim? I'm having problems retaining length and I've got a section that's just not growing.... Any tips?

Jassi Queen: Your hair is my inspiration and you inspired me to transition and I've been transitioning for 7 months now!!!

Mariel: Hey! Lovely hair you have! Just wanted to tell you you should add an ACV rinse after the african black soap shampoo because of its pH. Soap has a highly alkaline pH and our scalp is acidic, so in the world of no poo when we use soap to wash our hair an acid rinse is needed afterwards to rebalance the pH and avoid damaging our hair and scalp. Could be any vinegar or lemon juice, diluted like 2-3 tbsp per cup of water. You need to saturate your scalp with the mix cuz that's where it is most important to rebalance the pH. Hope you start doing it! You have a lovely hair and adding that should make it look even better :)

Onyx Goddess: When the video comes out 15 minutes before you wash your hair.

GlamNP: I'm telling you that ABS shampoo is the truth! Our routine is very similar. A prepoo is a must but I have to deep condition with heat! My leave-in and aloe Vera juice is refrigerated! You made that look so easy! TFS!

Intersectionality: Why hasn't this wonderful and talented lady reached her 1M+ subscriber mark???? WHY?

A Davis: just did this routine. my hair is so moisturized! and you are right, it smells AMAZING! thanks for sharing!

Femineity: Thanks for the updated wash vid, Whitney! You're hair looks really GREAT! I have a couple of questions...You're hair looks really nice and black. Have you used the Shea Moisture color system again lately? Also Whit, my hair seems to have changed up and I'm not sure why but...When I shampoo my hair, it quickly Locs up on my really badly!!! It's like my hair gathers together and sticks to each other and it takes me hours to finger detangle it. It's really become very difficult to manage. My hair is about your current length and it appears to be very similar in texture to yours but your comb out is simple and fairly quick were as my comb out is stressful, long and I loose LOT'S of strands! Have you ever had this problem and if so, what did you do to correct it? HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP please.

Daphne Nelson: Ugh you're always so helpful! Thank you so much!

Ellecia Donnell: Hi Naptural85! I think your videos are amazing and should be able to be shared with everyone! For people with hearing disabilities, closed captions are a great idea! But they can also not be very effective with all the errors they contain. But, there is something you could do! You are able to manually go and adjust the way words are presented in closed captions so that there are not a ton of errors. I'm sure you have a busy schedule, but doing at least one video every so often could really help others discover your amazing natural hair videos! If you would like to try it, just let me know and I can give you more information about it!

EVTD79: I think I will modify this to my liking. Three years natural and I'm still trying to figure out a wash day where I lose the least amount of hair. Can't wait too try this next week. I hope this routine will be a keeper.

Yuki James: This is so helpful! I've been wearing braids for awhile and am thinking about just going natural after taking it out. But I'm not used to doing my own hair and all the high maintenance lol

seaglass: Hi Whitney! Love your videos here and on DearNaptural but never commented, changing that now. Quick question: are you putting the TJ conditioner on top of the deep conditioner or was that a next step after having left the deep conditioner on, if so how long was that? Thanks for posting! Very timely for me as I come out of transitioning in Senegalese twists and reclaim my natural hair. Keep 'em coming (:

ooShanayoo: Your hair is so beautifully moisturized! I can't wait until mine is fully healthy. And I will have to try that Trader Joe's conditioner out soon! :D

Marriage & Motherhood: So useful and helpful. Thanks for sharing!

SHERILL CAIN: Every time I watch your videos i'm hit with the urge to try them right away. Washing hair is just so refreshing lol

domoore44: Hey Whitney!! Love your videos!! I was just curious if there are days that you'll leave your DC in for 30+ minutes or do you just wash it out in the shower after a few minutes all the time now?

Neo Soul: Our hair wash routine is almost the same even down to the products except I use my deep conditioner in the beginning with my oil and aloe Vera juice. Then after I shampoo with the black soap mix I use regular conditioner. But it's cool that your are my fraternal hair washing routine twin!

AnyaLake: Hey Whitney, great video as always. I was confused by the deep conditioner and then conditioner steps. Did you rinse out the deep conditioner after some time elapsed and then apply the regular conditioner to detangle? It looks like you applied the conditioner on top of the deep conditioner and then immediately rinsed and detangle so not sure the point of the deep conditioner if you weren't leaving it on long - was this just for added slip?

JaiChanellie: Thanks for this! It's wash day and I just needed a little motivation

Nixx: LOVE your videos Whitney. You're simply amazing girl.

Ebizzill: i've finally was able to get my wash day under 30- 45 minutes... and my hair feels CLEAN AND moisturized. hair type: 4c hair length: armpit length, bra strap hair condition: dirty, dry, brittle, and smelly. hair prior to washing: in loose plaits, and twists that have been abandoned for 2 weeks wash process: before hopping into the shower untwist/unbraid the sections, lightly finger detangle and put it up in bantu knots. in the shower stay under warm/hot water for 5-10 minutes and make sure to scrinch the scalp with the pads of your fingers (not nails) . under running water take each of the bantu knots and finger detangle some more under water, and put it back into knots. Now use a non sulfate shampoo and apply it on your scalp and concentrate scrubbing your scalp with the pads of your fingers... After that wait for 2 to 3 minutes with the shampoo in your head.( Im not sure why I do this, but it makes me feel like there is deep cleansing when leaving it on for a few minutes). After wash off.... this would have taken 30 minutes or so. i don't usually follow up with a deep conditioner, but seeing that my hair has been feeling brittle, i do put it on all of my sections, under a plastic bag and deep condition for however long i can. I'd leave it on for about an hour, and then rinse off with cooler water. i spritz my diluted leave in mixture ( boot legged version of a kim maytube leave in) while my hair is damp, and wait and add some oil to it... by now 40 minutes have passed. I actually leave my hair in those bantu knots and air dry it for a few hours (preference) but you CAN t-shirt dry and style afterwards I don't use butters or anything... or at least i haven't felt the need to. It's been wonderful downsizing products. If anything i call myself an oil junkie... but I USE them all. lol.

Derriann C.: Great Video Whitney! What's the difference between aloe vera juice and aloe vera gel and what are its benefits? I want to add it to my hair routine.

Breem Dawn: i was watching your video about the African black soap shampoo. I started reading up about the soap and how it can help your skin. once i turned 34 my skin broke out horribly. For a whole year i tried everything and the black soap helped it go away. Thank you for mentioning it!

Maryam Hampton: Watching this was so relaxing for some reason!

Whitney Lisette: I just did my wash day but I couldn't do all these steps bad enough I have to section each section shoot I be tired but the time I get onto the third section whew lol being natural is definitely a tideous job

NaturallyRoro: Thank you for updating upon your routine, but how do you wear your hair during the week between wash days, in other words how many days do you wear your hair out and how many days do you protect it between wash days?

Amanda Williams: Your hair! It looks so healthy!

D Lloyd: Thank you, as always, for the tips and ideas! What happens if you don't follow all of these steps? If you skip any, is your hair extra dry/weaker/etc.? Just wondering what may be happening if I don't follow to a t... of course, each of us has different hair needs, but I'm just wondering what lead you to including the different steps.

REaikee: Whitney, your hair is FLAWLESS!!

Diva Den: van you do an updated swimming hair care routine? I love this video. I use WEN only but I may add BAS to my first was. Thank Whitney!

Kayla Chanelle: YOUR CURL DEFINITION IS FLAWLESS

Mekea Harvey: +Naptural85, Thanks for the video. One thing wasn't clear. Did you layer the Tea Tree Tingle over the deep conditioner or did you rinse out the deep conditioner before applying TTT and detangling?

Valeria Monice: Our wash days are very similar ❤️

Morgan Green: oh my gosh your hair looks soooo healthy and gorgeous

simplypapaya: Your curls are so healthy and beautiful oh lord ✨

Nadiyah Jo: Your curl definition is great!

4evahazeleyez: Great video! Today is my wash day and I'm tired just watching you do your hair Tfs

Melina's Arcade: You have such beautiful hair! This inspired me to get started with my wash day lol. I dread detangling my hair.

Flairelle: Wow what a routine. I get that same amount of shedding but for each section!

ultimatecouponlady: Beautiful hair! A lot of work. What tips can you suggest for someone just starting out taking care of their natural hair. I normally just wear my hair in a protective style and just wash it and deep condition it between protective hairstyles.

Jailyn Jackson: can you do more protective styles for the summer, I'm struggling!! lol

Melody Joy: Hey Whit! +Naptural85 I've been so inspired by your videos. I'm currently going through the same recovery process from color treated hair . Do you mind posting a video of your current length and new progress! I'm just curious as to the growth rate of your hair as well as length retention. Also, I noticed you've kind of ditched the water-only washing. Is their a reason? Love your work so much and God Bless. You are really doing a great work for Him.

Polly Lia: you should make a product line with all your diys. I always refer back to you for natural inspiration and motivation ♡♡♡♡♡

Look Who's Natural Too!: Your hair looks amazing!

Serena Marie: Ugh I've been waiting for a new wash routine from you! Yayyyy

Kayla Hamilton: Purchased my aloe vera juice today, I can't wait to incorporate it into my routine.. everytime I watch your videos, i still can't believe i met you (pennstate fam).. thanks again, you're so inspiring xoxo

V lael: Thanks for the vid! I love em all. Btw if anyone wanted to know of a good leave in the one that I use is SDot beauty soft and tenderly. Works AMAZING :)

Rosannasfriend: Can never get too many of these types of videos.

ISayToMyself: I like this routine. I tend to prepoo overnight. I might want try and cut that down a bit. I also need to experiment with reducing my deep cond. time which is usually 2 hours. Thanks for sharing.

Kazz: Wow, our regimens are nearly identical. Glad it's working for you.

Victoria: Tea tree tingle is my all time favorite condition. It's literally 3 or 4 dollars and has so much slip. I buy like 5 at a time when I see it bc it's always sold out

Rochelle F: Love your channel and this video was great! May I ask why do you reapply oil and half way rinse out towards the end of this regime? Are you not using oil once you style your hair after washing? (i.e. LOC/LCO method) Thanks in advance! xoxo

Talesia M Williams: Wow I was surprised you no longer start the wash process with your hair separated in 4 sections  washing one section at a time like you used to do.  What made you go back to washing it all together like that and separating later during the conditioning process? Don't you find there are more tangles to deal with this way?

D Dahlia: your hair is so beautiful and inspirational. it helps make me take better care of mine : )

Lafida LA.: Even though I have completely straight european hair, LOVE this channel!!! <3

DassahMariee: Great video! I def. need to step up my washing routine.

gadson100: Hi there! loved this video Whit! I wish my hair would stay twisted like yours does without any pins. mine falls right apart without hella bobby pins. great aloe vera tip. im trying it!

Greyfeathers30: two questions: how often do you wash your hair? and do you do anything in between washes to your hair besides styling it?

Huda: You're actually superwoman! I can barely maintain my hair because It's tiring and I don't even have other responsibilities like kids etc

Golden Goddess: This was a very helpful and awesome video!!! Keep up the good work!!! ☝

Shantell Noland: For those who use a leave-in conditioner, do you use the leave-in first then the oil or vice versa?

Keeping it Serene!: Awesome! Just when I thought it was safe to come off YouTube for the night lol. Thanks for the vid Whitney x

Amanda D: Absolutely LOVE how your hair looks. How did you get this style? Was it just by undoing the Bantu knots after washing it?

Serendipity: Your twist out is perfect! And your soooo beautiful, wow.

👑Life With Alli💜: i love that you weren't afraid to start over and cut and revamp your hair!! great job!!

uspswkr25: Great video! Do you have a one prepared for the hairstyle in this video? Is a wash and go or fluffy twist out? Your hair is so beautiful! ❤️

MARYAN MOHAMUD: Question, I've been watching some of your other video in the past and noticed that at first you used to spray your hair down with rose water, than you switched to plain water, and now you are using aloe vera + water. Has the aloe vera really made a difference.

princess84r: I love these videos. It gives me an opportunity to try new things but I've always wondered something. I see that when you do these videos you're in the shower. Does you hair ever clog the drain? I never wash my hair in the shower for fear of that. I normally clean my hair in the kitchen sink and use a mesh drain to catch my hair. It also gives me a chance to see how much shedding I had.

bubbleyum71: it's my wash day lol thanks so much for this!!!

ForJoy TV: Back to basics!!! I so miss the old days. I haven't used the Tea Tree Tingle in a while. I need to go buy it again

Mikayla Vaughn: @Naptural85 What do you do with it after you've finished washing it? Do you twist it or how do you do it?

Nsiande Kweka: Whitney, your videos has helped save tons of cash..my diy hair oil, butter black soap shampoo, deep conditioners...thanks for sharing with us ❤️

purple rose: I never realized how many gray hairs I have and I'm not even 30 yet what irritated me is that before I even knew what natural was my cousin wore her natural curls, I always complimented her, she always made it seem like she was the only one of us that had that type of hair and that she had "good hair". I went natural and finally started wearing my curls and everybody complimented my hair but she never even acknowledged my hair for months. Finally one day my sister and uncle were saying how nice my hair was in front of my cousin, my cousin was staring at my hair and finally said, girl look at all that gray hair in your head, you got all them long gray hairs making fun me and saying it loud in front of people. So I said yeah obviously I see the gray strands so what? And walked out. I'm like really bitch you can't just say something nice about my hair? You mad because Im getting compliments too and you're not the only one in the family with kinky curly hair? You mad because my hair is practically as long as yours now? Smh.

Naturally Loving Me: Love it. How can anyone dislike this video u do good with your hair
