Tightly curly method define your curls

Hey guys, this is a collaboration, video between ol Carl's, natural and myself. We had a lot of fun making this video, so I hope you guys enjoyed it if you want to see her version of this, video definitely click on the link bottom or the screen, and it will take you to her version and, as you see from the Title we're going to be to be 8 gel technique watching ghosts is not something for everyday. This is something I do if I want really different roles for approximately a week now, as you see, we have listed in the video different hair types, I'm not one really. Two hair type in general, but this is more for styling purposes, just because I have to do different things to my hair to achieve this style and if your hair texture is like mine, you definitely understand what I'm talking about. So maybe my technique is going to help you if you have a coarser hair texture. So as you see the first thing I'm doing is pre pooling and detangling. You have to make sure it's welded, tangled, because you're going to be brushing through your hair with the Denman brush. So you really want to get those tangles out and either pre cool, with whatever conditioner of your choice or cleanser of your choice and make sure your hair has no buildup. So after I leave the deep conditioner on there for half hour to an hour, I cleanse my hair and here BAM. You can see the kinky mess. This is the real African heck coming out. So you see this, that's what my hair looks like it's out of the shower, so it does not look flowy alone and i use the loc method. So I just put the castor oil after the water and my leave-in conditioner of choice has been Cantu shea butter because it is light and it doesn't coagulate with the gel. The key star here is the gel. As you see, and I did a wash and gold video before and I use my fingers in very small sections to pack on the gel, but I find that using the Denman brush definitely saves me time. So, that's why I have to make sure that my hair is properly too tangled, so the gel plus the brush equals clumps and clumps that I don't have. Naturally, I don't think I have them. Naturally, I mean, obviously if your hair is more of a see, all-around and zigzag, then this might not work, but I don't know try it because this didn't work for me when my hair was shorter, but I find it the longer my hair gets and the more I fingered to take a finger detangle and smooth my hair. I find that my hair, my I don't know it just get - keeps getting curlier if you like, I don't know the cuticles are laying flatter and it's causing it to be more defined yeah. I don't know if that makes sense, but anyway, as you see, I put the gel, I start from the bottom and I run the brush through and that's what really makes my curls just pop and clump into very thick sections even that front part of mine. That really has some three C's that never used to do this look at the result. That'S crazy to me. So definitely try this out if your hair texture is like mine. This is what my hair looks like when I am completely done, and please do not touch it when you're done with this, you can dry it whatever we want, you can air drive it because of all the gel. I choose to use a blow dryer or you can have put a dryer but don't mind me, I'm just being silly, but yes make sure it's completely dry before you touch it. I promise you, your hair will stay defined because usually I have problems with phrase, but I find that with the gel, my hair is fine and by the way, as you see in the corner, I have blurred out the screen. So if you want to see oak Rose Naturals process and her explaining it and her results, you better click on the video or on the screen after you're done with this one or click on the link below to see how she achieved this or if your hair Is more like hers? Now it is a little crunchy and as you see, my hair is extremely shrunken because I just have the most ridiculous shrinkage in the oil. So one thing I do is I loosen up the hair and the crunch with olive oil, and I rub it in and it definitely takes away that crunch without it being too crazy and I don't lose the definition and another way that you can soften your hair. Is if you use the olive oil while you use the gel, your hair will come out a lot softer. But I like the crunch, because I want the style to last me a lot longer. But after the hair is stretched - and this is just an extra step for me - because I prefer to be a little stretched out - this is what it looks like. So I hope you guys enjoyed this video definitely check out the other half of the video with across natural. Thank you guys so much for watching, and I hope I see you on my next video bye.

Angelica Bell: I'd say the curls you get after the gel are still YOUR natural curls even though you you used gel to define them. You didn't have to use a chemical like a perm or something to alter your natural texture. Also your hair looked good before and after. The versatility is one of the things that makes our hair so beautiful. Looks soft and healthy. And I love your hair color.

876beauty: FINALLY someone with the same hair as me !

Love Jones: First... I LOVE the collaboration ladies. It's beautiful to see how wonderful the natural hair community gets along, especially when the media profits off of sistas being dysfunctional. Also, I really need to find that Denman brush. Everytime I do a wash and go, I get that 1970s-Soul Train-Geri curl look -_- Maybe it's the gel I use (Kinky Curly Custard).

Trlocs 2000: OMG thank you thank you! I cut 14 years of dread locks off back in March now dealing with a TWA is all new to me.  My hair has grown out quite a bit so I am now into finding new techniques for my natural.  Thank you so much for this video,  I've been 2 strand twisting my hair with pretty good results with the exception of flaking.  I am using the regular Eco gel but I see that I need to get the type with the olive oil. I am so looking forward to trying a Wash N Go TONIGHT! As I'm finding myself doing my hair every other day and that is wearing me OUT. lol  Again thanks for this video.

BrownBombshell2022: OH...MY...GOSH..! FINALLY! I've found someone with nearly the exact same texture as mines LOL!! My hair looks just like yours freshly washed. I too noticed that as my hair grows the curls pop more. THANK YOU for this vid!

OMFGMYNAMEWON'TFI: wow. beautiful results!!! this is my hair exactly. I actually had a little bit of a break down trying to leave the house the other day. I'm seven months into my journey with about 4  inches of hair when stretched. I am still learning and so far it has been a disaster. I got the conditioning part down and it stays soft as hell as long as i stay on top of it, but to me (no other way to say it) but it wasn't looking good enough to show the world. It makes me mad ( well more sad) to not have the confidence to throw my wigs away and say fuck you to all the haters. With this video i now know what the process that i need to be taking

ravenluna99: I have the same hair type as you!! Also thank you so much for solving my dryness and shrinkage problem whenever I do this!!

Rachael Richmond: I just did this wash and go style with my 4c twa tonight!! Never did I believe my hair would curl like a 3c grade I'm in love! Thnks for posting!!

Themiddlepartofthecinnabon: I think this video may have saved my life! I've been struggling because even though I know the curls I have I kept getting frustrated that they were not as defined as I thought they should be. I think this is the key right here!!

Yellow: Hey! Thank you so much for this video. My hair is the exact same texture as yours! Trust me, you DO have curls; it's just that they are soooo tight like little springs. If you comb/brush them they can separate and curl uniformly. I haven't done a wash n go in over a year. I blame them for tangling and breakage that I thought I was getting a few years ago. How do you avoid tangles while wearing wash n go's? I want to try a wash n go soon. Your curls will continue to pop as your hair grows!

Mattie Smith: Great video! I mix my ECOStyler gel with my oil and you will not have the CRUNCH. I mix it a cup of gel and about 1/4 of my favorite oils (olive, almond, aragan, alma) in a container. I also use Paul Mitchell The Conditioner or KC Knots today as my Leave-Ins Conditioners. This method works for me (3B/C 5yrs. NATURAL)

BBQ Catering Info By SDSBBQ: Very informative and well thought out. Both of you ladies did a great job with this...

Auset C: I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this method.  The out come is fenomeno!!!!  And actually, I think we might have the same hair texture...  My hair is beyond course...    Twist outs, braid outs ect.  They never turn out right when i do them.  But Im looking forward to trying this on my hair.  Thanks a bunch!

xmusicloverr: This is one of the very first natural videos I watched when transitioning :) 2 years natural now

Deanna Mitchell: Thank you so much for this video ! I just took some braids down & for some reason I had damage . We have the same hair texture !

Joso Anani: Yes girl! it took me SEVERAL attempts to nail what works for my own texture. I got frustrated sometimes but i kept trying till i nailed it :)

Saya Nicks: This came out so beautifully!

M: Omg! Finally someone with hair EXACTLY like mine. Thanks so much for posting!! You look great :)

leelee kung: Finally someone with a hair type like me

Zara Jade: Omg wow ......this video was very useful to me because I've searched everywhere looking for a video like this and I finally found it thanks much!!!!!!

avirline: i have a 4C hair, i tried your stretching method after WNG, i must say, it was awesome, thanks for the tips

Simone Rainn: OMG definitely trying this on my hair! Thank you so much

Diva Prez: Love it! Tried this technique and it worked well.

Dejavunaturals: I want to do a wash and go one day! I swear I am always scared about leaving my hair out like this but it look so cute on you, i'll try it, it came out great ! WERKKK IT!!

tocrazyjay: Wow!  That came out nice!  I haven't had much luck with my 4C hair.  I usually keep mine braided.    But this makes me want to take my braids down and try something new.  Thanks for sharing!

CaughtInMyKinks: Your hair looks great! Glad you found what works best for you!!

Chena Hazel: This was very helpful! I've been trying to find ways to style my hair, particularly in a wash & go, but couldn't find videos with women with my hair type....until I found you! :-) Thanks for posting my dear!

talawah_rebel: Your hair is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for this vid!

Joso Anani: yes!!! eco styler really works for me! i heard the pink eco styler leaves you with no crunch so i will be testing out a little container of that one as well! i am enjoying the wide range of styes i can achieve with my texture! thank you :)

Jamrockgerl: OMG! ! I didn't think those curls were possible! I've been wanting to go Natural but you have totally convinced me!!

Jade Carter: loooooove loooooove this!!! Thanks!!! I'm a TRUE 4c and this curled my naps!!! lol Love this technique!

Myeisha Moses: Thanks for sharing your video. .I did the BC last month and I've been trying to find the perfect wash and go for my 4b/c hair and yours is the BEST I've seen! Your hair is perfect. .color and all..thanks again.

T, Redguard, lvl. 33: I found that my curl pattern loosened up as it got longer also. When it was a twa, I thought I had 4b/4c hair, but then after my 9th month of being natural (And after I had it blown out for a few weeks), it changed more to a 3c/4a curl pattern. Now, at about my 13th, my hair from midway to the ends is more of a 3b 'S' pattern. . . Idk what to make of it. My lineage is from the Bahamas, meaning I'm all kinds of mixed up, so it makes sense. Ever heard of a 3b-to-4b hair typing? Lol.

Joso Anani: That is exactly how my hair acts too! if i run into it when my eco styler is done i might give it a try! thanks:)

Nahcoma Floyd: Thank you for sharing definitely trying this I have two little girls hair to do so that leaves me with not much time to do my own this looks pretty simple

Lady Dnmiller: YOUR HAIR IS JUST LIKE MINE!!! Thank GOD!!! It's so hard to find a youtuber who has 4a-4c hair that does a wash and go style.

piano&eden: 1:21 I love how real that was lol. Your hair is GORGEOUS btwLoved the result.

Ahriel Odoms: I have your exact hair type. OMG. I just did my big chop and it is so beautiful.

Yolanda G: I love this!! gorgeous curls.. xx

mfconne: I love your video. I've been trying to figure out a way to get my hair to curl for the past 6 months. I think my hair texture is a 4b or 4c, but im going to try this. Thanks A lot. : )

digthewarmth: This is actually really cool-looking. When I wash-n-go I just cowash and go lol let it air dry throughout the day. So I'll try this one day :) thanks for the vid! and just a note, 4c hair is tiny curls, 4b has zigzags.

Mardi B BayBee: i love this cause now i don't have to keep wearinng my hair back all the time..i'm going to give it a shot this weekend!

LattyPink: I loved how it turns out. I can see the difference from the last time. I am a little more optimistic about this now. Nothing beats a failure but I trial so more trial runs, fingers crossed.

bballplaya8638: Love this video. Had some questions: I have done this twice and both time the gel has left a gross white film after it has dries (looks like dandruff ) Do you know of anyway to prevent this?

Odette Black: Wonderful personality I "lol" when you were explaining all the 4b qualities. I even have that awkward 3c thing going on at the top of my head so its nice this works outs I am going to try this.

Monique: Thank you so much! My hair is this texture and I was wondering how to bring out the curls because Bantu knots is annoying sometimes.

MissJ: I'm gonna have to try this method, your hair looks awesome btw!

Whit: Great video! I'd be interesting in seeing how you maintain your curls throughout the week!

Trish Trish: Wow! Beautiful hair....I totally, totally, totally love this....Way to go for being natural ladies! I wonder if I could try this on my sisterlocs using either just the finger technique or using a brush/comb with wider teeth.....seeing that they are pretty thin....and long... like a couple of inches past shoulder length.....

missnia1001: What a fun intro this was. Thank you for this technique, i'm going to try it.

Stephanie Cecily: I do use the same method, and it works perfectly...I think our hair are similar.... Thank for this video :)

Ronda Moore: LOVE this video!! I thought I was the only one with this type of hair! LOL! I will be trying this in the am ;)

The Divine Hostess: Crazy how long your hair has gotten since I began following you! It looks great and I learned a lot. Do you already haw a video on how to maintain the wash and go? Pineapple method so doesn't work for my twist outs, so I doubt it would work on this style for me...

Kristina Avery: I do this technique and it works for me:)

Vanessa Frazer: Loved the video. I'm definitely going to try this out. :)

Joso Anani: aww no problem! i hope it works out well for you :)

Caitlin Sawyer: I loved this video and just purchased some eco styler to define my curls more. I am wondering how you managed the look since you wanted it to hold for a while. Just curious for when I try the technique :--]

Candyapplemomo: Great demonstration! A must try for me

simplydebra: Beautiful results!

Vanessa M St Hilaire: my hair turned out beautiful, thank you for sharing:)

Joso Anani: aww you are very welcome! i am constantly trying to combine different products and find different methods to make my own texture work for me! Glad this could help you too!! let me know if it works out :)

Joso Anani: Good to know! I havent actually tried any of the products in the line cause the price scares me a little.. but i also heard the curl enhancing custard by shea moisture does the same thing too.

downtoat: oh man, you're making me want to try this! I haven't done a wash and go in years, but I think my technique was wrong. I literally washed, put in some conditioner, and tried to go. LOL!

Myeisha Moses: Thank you, Joso! Your hair is so beautiful! I am not sure how but I will post pictures somewhere. Thank you again.

Katt A: i love it! can't wait to try it!

Joso Anani: Aww you are welcome! Thank you for watching :) Let me know how it turns out :)

Joso Anani: That is what i am finding out :) and i keep my hair very well detangled from the beginning. When i put the gel on it keeps each clump in place until it gets dry. THat is why i like the crunch. I band my hair in sections each night so they stay clumped and curly. And then when I wash it off i dump a whole lot of condish on my hair section by section and finger detangle before i wash all the gunk off. Maybe I should do a video. Thank you!

Joso Anani: awww!!!! yayy! glad this was helpful! when i did my hair, i didnt notice any change. i actually have a video about how i colored my hair and what it looked like before i colored it if you want to check it out :) thanks for watching :)

Kendra Obimah: Oh my gosh! I'm so glad I found you. We have similar hair types! Finally, I can relate to someone lol

quirkychic1984: Yah, this is the first time I have found someone with my hair texture and color even! I'm so happy and feel I can take a deep breath. There is hope lol

Joso Anani: Aww thanks!! hahahahha it depends on how bone straight your hair is? you can use gel with a twist out or a braidout and it will help the definition :) thanks for watching sis!

Mzflower: I'm starting to trainsition from relax to natural and I believe my hair is similar to yours. Is it possible if you can give me a list of the products you use please?

curliefro: Gorgeous coily curls!

Naturally4C: Love the results for this!.... thanks for sharing  x

Joso Anani: Hey! Yes.. the brand is called naturetint and i got it from whole foods. I actually have a video about it called "I colored my natural hair" and it shows the color i used. you should go straight for the blonde color...i had to try it out 3 times with the wrong colors. hope that helps

Lovingdeenaturally: your results look great!!!!!! I love it!!

NJ Njeri: this was so helpful finally

Willa Just Being Willa: Same for me I had to try these products a few times and my hair had to grow out before I saw a decent curl pattern.

Ladamian: i am soooo glad i found this video! i will most definitely try this ((:

Joso Anani: aww!!! it took me several times of trying to master but I finally got it!! hehe.... thanks for watching!!

Marcela Amaral: Muito bom. Amei!!!!

Cantetinza17: That's what I need. I defined my curls over the weekend and it looked good, but 3rd day in it pooped out on me. I tried to save it this morning and Epic fail. Its in a high puff looking like cotton and curls on the top of my head. I have from 3C to like 4B in my hair. They are all in my head having a college like party. No order what so ever. I think I'll try the brush method.

Emerald: AHHH finally someone w/ MY hair exactly, I love this method. Guess I need a Denman and some Eco gel!

BELLE: Hair looks gorgeous!

Angela Walker: Got to your channel because of the colab video! Love your results....gonna try this on my hair tomorrow :)

Autumn Johnson: Trying this right now! I've got 3c-4b all over my head lol

Joso Anani: Thank you so much girl!!! :)

Joso Anani: hahhaha that made me laugh out loud!!! I feel you though!! For some reason i picked it up again recently and it has been doing great with my hair and detangling LOL... and takes me less time than when I rake and smooth in tiny sections :)

Fanta Diop: OMG!!! your vid is the bomb!!! i love it:D this was so much sis :D thanks for the awesome outcome sis and your hair looks great :D!!!

Joso Anani: aww thank you!! hopefully this works out for you too!

Loc'd Biker: this is a very nice wash and go. it came out beautiful.

Adisa Cohen: Have you tried a wash and go with flaxseed gel? This looks great by the way!

Maliyah Miller: Looks exactly like mine. Finally found it lol.

Dee Dee Dimensional: Thank you for your help on doing my hair. God bless you

Doreana Garner: that was cool how yall did different ways and types!!I liked both videos and subscribed!!

Joso Anani: aww yay! hope it worked out for you! and hopefully it gives you another styling option.

swtbrry32: @4:49 is a picture perfect example of 4c hair. Great video! Will def try this technique.

The Grio Lounge with eLboogie Speeks: Black Afrocoid hair is AWESOME! i love my natural hair and this video is AHMAZING!!

Shulette Michelle: Im glad I found your channel we have the same hair type and your the first person I found on YouTube I can actually relate to

Sharon Williams: I would have saved myself a lot of heartache if I would have found this video sooner :) (i even bought 2 boxes of texturizer because I was about to give up!!) So me being a faithful servant, I went into prayer. "Lord, please show me the way. You gave me this crown of glory, help me to understand what I am supposed to do to it". HE Replied, "Know It, Love It and Embrace It!" I started thinking of my hair as a garden. It needed water, food and attention. I went through many phases with my hair and for a while I had no curl pattern at all. Just a big ball of dense cotton on top of my head. I started doing perm rod sets and finger coils just to have some curl. I have been using your same technique for about 2 months now and i am in love with my hair!!! I agree with you about how the curls form with the brush, and when it was shorter I didn't have much curl either. My final conclusion was that the more it is allowed to stay in its natural state (minimal blow drying and excessive heat), the happier and healthier it is. The curls are a result of proper moisture being supplied to the strands, thats what makes them pop. We are hair twins, I have the same color in my hair as well. I get so many compliments on my hair. I feel like there are other people with more hair and looser pattern that is a lot nicer, but I think people admire 4c hair that is well kept and maintained. It shows that we care for it and we love it too! Love your curls girls, no matter what state they are in. It is what makes us so unique. God have them to us only!
