Now I'm just playing it's Marley hair, hey guys, I'm a little over four months, postpartum, and so I figured I'd finally come on here and talk to you guys about my post prime is shedding. I know you guys have had a lot of questions about it. First of all, I started experiencing postpartum shedding about three or four weeks ago. So, yes, I am experiencing it, it's not as bad as I thought it would be, but it is pretty shocking when you're styling, your hair and you're going through it and all this hair is coming up. The back of my head is pretty good. I'M not getting a lot of it coming out in the back. It'S just mostly the front, and mostly at my temples, you can see how it gets a lot lighter in this area. There'S a lot of hair missing here and you know I'm not surprised because whenever I styled my hair or braids or twist my hair, the temples of my hair, were it's the most sensitive like I feel the most tugging or you know not pain but pressure. So I'm not surprised that that was the area that's shedding, and I actually I don't mind I out of all the areas on my head. I could shed I'm really happy, but it's just my temples, but you can see like almost all the hair is go on, but I kind of like it. I think it looks kind of cute little Cassie vibe, going on there little shave size here, but it's not too drastic where they shave the whole side. So it's kind of nice. You know I kind of do like that. You know baby hair looks so it's working for me now. I know you guys know. Daughter'D me on the last video, because all the baby hair in the front now look okay. I didn't do that on purpose. Okay, you guys know I'm a minimal styler when it comes to like combing and brushing and stuff, so that was just my side. Scarf had pushed all my baby hairs to the front, and I just loved it like that. So some of you guys liked it. Some of you guys hated it. Some of you guys thought it was funny, so I mean I think my baby hairs kind of stole the show of my last video the how to fix a bad hair day video, but it's totally fun. I was having a really good laugh for your comments, really kind of liked it as long as it stays like this. I really don't need any more hair falling out, but so far it's been pretty good. I don't how much more shedding I have to go. I hope that it's done, but I will say that every time I style my hair when I get towards the front I'm taking out like chunks and chunks of hair. So it's a good thing that my hair is, you know thick to begin with, so that you can't you can't really tell that anything is different on my hair, except for in the temple area. So that's pretty much it with the postpartum shedding it's pretty much contained to. You know the temples of my head, this area and a little bit in the back, but not not really too bad. So I've been really lucky. My sister was also putting at the same time I'm she has. You know postpartum shedding along her whole hairline, but I think again, I think it looks cute cuz. I like that baby hair. Look, so I don't know she. She doesn't like it as much as I do. I think it looks really cute on her, but yeah anyway, I'm not at all upset what the amount of shedding that I've had. I think it's been pretty good. I still have a nice full head of hair. Thank goodness and like I was saying before you know, if more wants to fall out, I will welcome it because I have too much hair. It takes a long time to do. Hair takes a really long time to do to even just twist now, but that's a separate video, maybe I'll talk about that in another video. My hair is actually recovering really well, I think in my last pregnancy, video that I made I was telling you guys how my hair head c.t my hair, had been extremely dry from the baby bleaching out all my nutrients, a lot kind of stuff, so I've been Doing tons and tons of co-washing and trying to just make sure that my hair is continued to stay moisturize and, as you can see like the shine, is coming back a lot. My ends are still a little dry, but I think it's just old hair and that's probably the way it's going to remain, which is fine as long as I keep taking care of it. It'Ll be fine yeah, that's pretty much it. So this is pretty much my post, pregnancy hair. I have continued to take my prenatal vitamins. They recommend that, because I'm breastfeeding and she's still taking nutrients on my body, I don't want to lose any more. A lot of you guys have asked what prenatal vitamins I use. I use the complete you'll care, it's a natural brain and it comes with the multivitamin and also the DHA, and I like these because you only have to take it once a day. So I'm glad it means you have to take like three times a day and that was so annoying and they make you sick during the day. Look you want to vomit, which is disgusting, so I like these because I would only take them at night and then I wouldn't feel that you know that need to want to throw up for the layman anyway, that's gross, so I'm taking my pre needles. While I breastfeed and even when I'm done breastfeeding, I'm probably gon na keep taking them just for a while, just so that my hair can recover. I stopped taking one for three weeks and that's when tons of my hair came off and I just forgot to go to the store and buy them is not that I was doing it on purpose. I just didn't, have them on my hand. Three weeks went by and I lost tons of hair, so I ran to the store and got more yeah. That'S basically, what's going on with my hair, I think I've been really lucky on a post part of shedding side that it's only basically here it can be so much worse, like I'm so thankful, so yeah, I'm just gon na continue taking my vitamins and if anything Else happens, I will definitely let you guys know, but I hope this answers your questions. A lot of you guys have wanted me to address this, and if you have more, questions, feel free to leave them in the comments below, and I will try to answer them as I see them anyway. I hope that helps guys and I'll see you later bye. Okay, this smart leader click here to see what's new over at my second channel

C Key: Super cute and informative!!

tiarra monet: I love your channel! Very Inspiring! xo

JustKuRRs 💋: I'm 5 months postpartum & I'm shedding in the exact same spot! LoL! I love the baby hair look too!

icetia2002: I went through the same thing, with tons of shedding around my temples. It started coming back when the baby was 8 months :)

J Bailey: Hey! I love your hair and the fact that your handling your shedding so well! :). As for the prenatal vitamins, will you be working your way off of them or do you plan in making them part of your regimen? Love you channel and your baby girl is so precious!!! :)

tlabang83: First momma I've ever seen laugh about post partum shedding! So proud of you for taking it so well and it doesn't look bad at all:) Enjoy this phase, once Olivia is more mobile...holy crap, you'll literally be doing a tutorial, cooking and saving her from jumping off the toilett..gracefully of course;) Those vids are gonna be hilarious!

Térésa Scotland: Your hair looks great! Post-partum shedding was good to you. I had no noticeable post-partum shedding with my first pregnancy, and it left my hair soooooo THICK! I think I shed for both pregnancies after my second child though. LOL! Thanks for sharing. Stay well. Blessings...

FarrahPhoenix: I went through the exact same thing. My son is now going on 4, and even though my hair has grown back in the temple. It hasn't gone past a half inch. You might experience more shedding in the temple areas in the months to come. The good thing is that it does grow back :)

mrsrowland0505: Thank you so much! I'm having my first child, a girl as well. I was thinking about the shedding as well. I'll definitely keep taking my prenatals. #loveyourchannels

P W: I feel your pain on shedding. I had major surgery a couple of wks ago and I had so much shedding it was scary. Its finally done and I think the extra moisturizing dc I started doing along with monoi oil helped. Not the CD monoi too expensive. Anyway I love your videos.

sunyanie: Girl you are hilarious!! LMBO. @ you laughing at yourself! My hair grewwww while preggers and same thing happened after I had my son, temples went bare and lots of shedding. You still look great!!

Silkstrands beauty: You're hilarious! I lost hair in the same place after having my daughter's, not so much with my sons. Yeah I know I have 50 million kids, lol. Fortunately it came back just as quick as it left. You look gorgeous by the way, and your hair is as beautiful as ever.

AllNatural Ren: Omg my baby is 4 months old and I feel the same way bout my hair! I'm with you I don't mind it as much as I thought I would! Still lovin my hair and yours is beautiful as well! Thanks for sharing!

Josie Lee NotSoJaded: I've experienced that darn post partum shedding at my temples too! I noticed it when my son was about 4 months old (he almost 9 now) it's growing back thanks to castor oil and Nubian Heritage Edge Taming Taffy

Living My Lex Life: I love the baby hair look! I'm trying to grow that area of mine & my edges! Lol

lashawn4455: Thank you for sharing this!! I am currently experiencing the same shedding around my temples and was freaking out. Inshallah, I'm finished with the shedding and it will grow back in soon. Thanks again!!

EtherealSky7: I was like, "Oh I know she playin!!!" Gorgeous hair and gorgeous spirit as always! I'm getting a haircut this week because I have a TON of hair as well. I'm looking forward to the change.

Jhéanell: I almost died when I saw all that hair in your hand, lol. I've had my hair in box braids pretty much since my baby was born two months ago so I haven't noticed any shedding as yet. I'm a little nervous about what's to come when I take them down though...but I love how you're embracing the process :)

Alexandra Thompson: I just started post partum shedding a year after my son was born ugh!! But the good news is we just found out I'm having another child so hopefully I get the thick pregnant hair back. But girl mine is all around my edges :( it's really bad.

Lydia Lindquist: Loving your hair. So gorgeous! Olivia is gonna have some really thick, healthy, long hair. A combo of you and your hubby.

Atoysha Bassene: going through this now for about 2.5 weeks and my daughter will be 4 months tomorrow. My edges are extremely! I'm devastated honestly. having my hair natural made it seem like more was coming out. in 2.5 weeks my edges are almost all gone. I decided to flat iron my hair and just use a clip to pin it up and not even fool with my edges. I started using Wild growth oil at night and Mane Choice oil in morning. Apparently everyone doesn't go through shedding. This is driving me insane. my hair isn't thick and full like yours so I guess I noticed a difference soon.

DrikaLuv: I had the exact same issue in the same spot. I thought it was because I always pulled my hair into my puff. It never even occurred to me it could have been related to anything post partum. Very informative again.

Mrs. WYNNCREDIBLE: This happened to me with my first child in summer 2010. I have fine hair so the shredding along my hairline was in the way. I just had my second two weeks ago and I am hoping that it doesn't happen with this one.

rohlehr: Oh wow, didn't know this was a thing but after watching I believe I am currently experiencing it :( I couldn't understand why so much of my hair was coming out just from pulling on the ends. Thank you for this!

The DREAM Network 💫: I'm having the EXACT same problem right now. What do you recommend for dangling the hair and knots that the shedding causes?

shyveryun: I had that problem with my first son. With my second I'm making sure to keep up with prenatal vitamins. No shedding this time! Breastfeeding moms must keep up with vitamins or your hair will continue to fall out!

GemRubyDiam0nd: OMG! same thing happened to me 3 months after my son was born - my edges practically disappeared overnight

SassyNClassyxx: You and your hair look great! Congrats on the baby! xx

818poochie: I remember "welcoming" postpartum shedding until it did not stop and went MUCH farther than I would have expected. I am still doing things to try to keep the hair that I have. Keep an eye on that shedding in case you need to do something about it. Better sooner than later. But you still look amazing!

Soldier4Beauty: I died a little on the inside in the beginning, my face was like 0_o lolol You are my hairspiration ! I can't wait for my hair to look like yours ! Thank you Whitney <3 xoxo

MsDurtysouth: Well i think your hair is BEAUTIFUL! I have my 13 year old watching your vids since she decided to go natural with me!! KEEP DA VIDS COMIN!

Raylovenaturals: your hair looks great in this video! And yeah, the lil bit of hair you've lost is nothing! Loved the ending! haha!

Jessica: I just gave birth a year ago, and my pp shedding lasted for like 3-4months!! It was awful, I'm glad to see you embrace it :) Mine also came out around the front edges, and it gradually started at my temples and went all the way down :(. LIke I said, It was a year ago, and my hair has grown back about 2inches. Good Luck with yours! :)

QTNMS: I experienced the same thing. It scared me at first. I started wondering if I I was doing something wrong. Mine was in the front too, but here we are now 13 months post partum and it started back growing back seems like as fast as it started shedding.

Audrey Mckoy: You look absolutly AMAZING in this video. Everything is perfect !

preciouskkk: I had the same exact experience 6 mnths ago & I ALMOST cried. It has grown bck now ( I can wear a ponytail agaiin). It gets better:)

GoldenNapptural: Btw your hair looks beautiful and healthy. I have 3 kids and experienced shedding with all three especially in the temples but it eventually stops.

dvusdiva13: I had my son in January and I am experiencing some SERIOUS shedding in the same place as you. Are you still shedding? If not, how long did it last? I am going on week 4!!!

sweetwasaaabi: Oh yes tell us about how long it takes you to style your hair! Mine is growing so fast and I was wondering how long it's gonna take to do my twist-out when it gets all extra flowey.

Emely Myles: this same thing happened to me! Hi I am from Panama City and I have been following you for a long time! thanks for your videos. My little baby is 6moths old and at about 4 months I was shedding and it was just my temples... I was freaking out, but. Almost as soon as it started shedding it started growing back so now you cant even tell that I am or was experiencing post partum shed! Anyways, I want to make videos but I kind of go against all the rules, so I dont know if they are going to help anyone. What do u recomend? I love you!

KarmaNicole94: I had my daughter 5 months ago and the shedding is RIDICULOUS. My hair completely changed lol. I've been shedding hair for a couple months now and I have that baby hair thing going on on my right temple. I was freaking out about it. And then I saw this video. Thank you lol.

M.U.S.O: The same baby hair happened to me this morning! I took off my scarf and was going to brush it back and my sister saw it and said "Girl, your baby hair is laid" LOL!

SpicedSuga: Same happened to me, I had my son in October and then 3 months later my hair was falling out in chunks and it affected my hairline that was already thin :(. I did one week of biotin and then started to take my prenatal a again and saw a drastic change. I'm not sure if it were the pills or if it was just time but now my little man is 5 months and my shedding has sort of gone back to normal. I was doing A LOT of research and came across this girl's site where she said using garlic shampoo helped.

LovingKatina: Thank goodness you have a lot of hair. After both my daughters' were born, separate births 8 years apart, the shedding was so bad I had to cut my hair. Love the baby pictures of the three of you.

Kimberly Eubank: Omg, I thought I had did something to my hair to make it fall out. I literally have enough hair falling out after my cowash to make my little Lilian a wig. Thank you so much for posting this video.

Raymi821: Didn't realize this was common. My son is almost 9 months and my edges are now starting to grow back. My mom told me its normal after giving birth. I hate it :(

Karen Minors: I am 4 months post partum also and just noticing my edges have thinned also; been wearing the mini twists that you did a blog on and have been keeping them in ever since, taking them out and retwisting.

JaneAlexis: I never had this shedding but this is my 4th child and I was so upset I had long healthy natural hair I had to cut my hair short. I'm using biotin and prenatal vitamins I'm trying to get back I know it's going to take time. Thanks so much for the video.

CharliGirl868: I ended up with my hair shedding during pregnancy so I was glad to get my hair back postpartum.

SincerelyChrisandKim: LOL loved the bloopers at the end :) Your hair looks so healthy!

ACIN05: Yes, you are fortunate. With my first child, my hair thinned all the way to the crown of my head. Any I had locks at the time, so it was really noticeable. My second child I was really lucky and had minimal shedding. Great vid:)

Tata_inc: i appreciate your videos. I've been natural for 4 years (almost), but have always worn sew ins. I am not venturing into natural hair styles. Not comfortable with it yet, but im getting there;

Mariah G: Recently found your channel and subbed. Thanks for sharing your hair care tips and styling routines

Life's Journey: Oh my goodness! I feel better my hair is falling out in the same places I was so distraught ugh. My son is 3 months I'm glad its normal

SuperDiamondGH: Your hair looks AMAZING today! *Love Struck eyes*

Beautiful Jones: Your hair is beautiful! To get your hair back from your temples I've heard all you need to do is to message your temples in a circular motion! It at stimulates blood flow and helps to regrow your hair faster! :)

savageroman87: I'm experiencing postpartum shedding now.. My son just turned 4 months and my hair is almost completely gone at my temples.. Any ideas on how to style my hair to cover those problem areas?? I have natural hair as well : )

Ladybeetle: I've stated this before. I lost 1/2 inch of my entire hairline about 4-5 months postpartum down to the scalp. No baby hair...just scalp: bald! I lost the most at my temples and hairline too. But I think, for me, it was more about nursing. My hair didn't shed until I didn't nurse "on demand" and began pumping for work.

Jessica Vannarath: Whitney! your twist out is SICK! Always looks great. Im sure you've answered this before, but how LONG does it take you to do your twist out?? (Or if anyone subscriber knows this answer...) My hair is VERY similar to yours (passed my collar bone); it takes me at least 2 1/2 hours and still doesnt come out as well as I'd like! exhausting! :(

chocodeluxe: I was tricked with the marley hair too! Lol... Kudos to you for embracing your post-partum shedding!

Vanessa: I just recovering from mine. I freaked out!!! You did well better than I handled it.

trinibutterfly2007: YES girl it happen to me almost five years ago with my son . Girl i cried it just won't stop . I end up cutting it off . I did not know why until later. I never lost hair like that in my life. It was devasting for me ,

jasmine b: I experienced shedding when my son was 3 months and after I stopped breastfeeding. I'm in the awkward length stage so you won't miss any of of it lol

lavadava69: THIS VIDEO IS HILAAAAAAAAAAARIOUS!! I have been freaking and doing castor oil challenges so that my temples will GROW!!! YOU..... just rock the 'BABY HAIR LOOK"!!! It is all about perspective!!! LOLOL!!

Millennial Mami: Let me tell u, I still take those EXACT SAME prenatal vitamins and my "baby " will be 4 on May 6th, lol. I breast fed her for 2 years and just continued to take them bc my hair thrives with them. My doctor says its fine :). Keep up the good work, mama!

colette M: Oh wow... it's a relief to know that nothing is wrong with me. I wasn't really aware of the " postpartum shading" until yesterday when I was washing my hair then I started seeing lots and lots of my hair falling out then I started crying I know..... it kinda sounds stupid but trust me, It felts like I was going bald the way my hair was falling down and I couldn't just bare it because I have been sooo much in love with my hair since I went natural. So is there anything that can help to stop this exclusive shading? Please someone help me I am a newly natural. Thanks in advance

EtherealSky7: I was like, "I know she's playin....lol!" Love your hair as always! I actually just got a deva cut, and I absolutely adore it. =)

Brown Girl Reading: You're looking great! Hair is beautiful as ever!

LHill73: Hey Naptural! My baby is 8 months old now and her hair is really dry on the sides. I've been using the same routine for her hair as i do my hair. Have you started a routine for your daughters hair yet?

sunsetnwaves: My hair stayed in the shedding phase thought the duration of my pregnancy. My doctor said this happens to a bunch of women as well, I mean I was almost bald in the back of my head. However once I gave birth my hair began to grow in leaps and bounds. Thank God.

rn_denita: Love your videos!!!! Keep em' coming!!!

nintrovert: After I had my daughter my temples were bald I was devastated I didn't expect it LOL. I looked in the mirror and was like oh NO!! This was without tugging. It seems pretty normal. It comes back. Mine is not as thick but not bald there anymore. Hope you are feeling ok with it

Sierra Bloomy Armstrong: I personally loved the baby hair in ur last video! And in this one! Beautiful

Naomi Martinez: my hair shed heavily after each of my three pregnancies. you are doing the right thing just keep it moisturized and keep taking your vitamins and lots of water. it'll get better.

ExclusiveBarbie: When I was about two months postpartum my temples where almost bald. Definitely a little scary but they have grown back!

Mrs. Ragsdale: You can also do organic black tea rinses it really helps!

Q Q: We are roughly in the same stage of pp (my boy was born 11/7) I haven't had as much shedding as you but I haven't gone without my vitamins. I am also drinking mothers milk tea to help with my milk supply so that could be helping as well. I also cut a lot of my hair the first time I had time to do it post baby.

debbie tate: thx...for this i'm 3mo postpartum and just took out some mini box braids and wanted to cry.....now i know its going to be ok...love your channel

kiyahp: I'd love to hear about your regimen now that you have a newborn. I'm having a hard time finding time for my hair now that it's longer.. thanks a lot!

Tanika Nixon: Do you have a tutorial for this hair? I absolutely love it!

nicole fletcher: I wish I knew all this info nine yrs ago! I learn to share my experience. Thank you !

Peachy♡: Twists and braids help to make detangling easier. And keep moisture in our hair which protects from damage due to it being dry from a wash and go. Also the less manipulation, the better for our hair.

remyholic: this is interesting because I lost almost all of my hairline after I had my daughter...It didnt really start to grow back until I stoped breastfeeding when she turned 1yrs old.

Teeya79: I'm glad You did this vid. Although I'm a year and 5 months post baby, I didn't realized that my hair was shedding due to postpartum shedding. My trouble areas are my temple areas and in the middle of my head.

curlykiki: i had also temple drama post twin delivery. jbco and scalp massages seem to be helping a lot. and i'm still taking vitamins 15 months later- they're great! and whit- you had me with that doggone marley hair. my mouth was HANGIN.

RaShawn Palaylay: Love your videos. I'm 1yr natural & 8mos pregnant hopefully I won't have much shedding postpartum.

Iriss Delgadillo: Girl, you are soooo hilarious! By the way, I love the mint green on you!!!

tiptoerider: When I was post-partum both times, I shed in the same area. It didn't bother me either.

PBrooks2022: Happened to me with all 3 babies. It did grow back each time but now it is somewhat thinner. Happens across all races.

TheJessicacb: You are so great, Whitney! Thank you so much!

Autumn Hart: Hi Whitney, wondering if you'd ever tried oil rinsing your hair with red palm oil. Heard it works wonders on your hair. Also heard brazil nut oil for styling is also ultra moisturizing. Theyre both good once your hair gets long.

Maa U: I tried ur twisting method on my daughter n it turned out great, thanks.

Crissy V: I just saw a video about this!! The medical reason behind the sheeding is because during pregnancy our body doesn't rest... everything keeping going. Hair is used to growinng then taking a break then growing again. During pregnancy it just keeps growing but once we pop that baby out... SHEDDDDDD lol. Best of luck to you!

Mitylene Bailey: My hair shed the same way too. But mine was not cute! It is going ok now though. Hopefully my hair can recover too. I should have continued to talk my prenatals. :(

Elayne: You're amazing!! I would have been all over the floor crying and yelling and screaming!! lol

Ashley Cool: omg that was hilarious!!! I got so so scared for a second!!! Your hair looks awesome and thanks for all the great vids!

The90SecondMom: I was interested to find out that for some people pp shedding leads to straight up bald spots. My hair just got thinner overall.

Shari Chic: love your videos! i have a question, are you taking the mini pill as birth control? do you think that has anything to do with your hair shedding? because i am experiencing this now and my baby is only 2 1/2 months?

UTubeuzername: I have been watching you for years and you seem different on this video, you seem so much more confident now, its hard to explain. I thought ur baby hairs were cute in the last video and ur hair looked amazing in this one.

coilyme: This was a great video! Your hair is beautiful and I died laughing at the Marley Hair!
