Dealing with dull, dry, frizzy hair or have itchy/dry scalp? A hot oil treatment can help give your hair a huge boost of moisture, softness, and shine! Hot oil treatments are great to add into your hair regimen. Either it be once a week or a few times a year. It also works for all hair textures.

How often do I do them?

When needed. But in the winter months I do them about once a month.

You can do a treatment overnight, sit under a hooded dryer, or add a heated cap . By Adding the extra heat to the treatment, you'll get more of the benefits from the oil. You can make your own blend of oils but I love this mixture for all that it gives to my hair. After the treatment, I rinsed my hair, then continued with my wash day.

What oils did I use?

Castor Oil

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Sweet Almond Oil

Jojoba Oil

Arian Oil

Peppermint Oil

(peppermint oil should always be mixed with other oils. you shouldn't use it alone)

I got these oils at Whole Foods + GNC

Hey everyone, its Ashlee, and today we are going to be doing a hot oil treatment. Why do a hot oil treatment? It maintains a moisture balance of your hair controls frizz and is great for wintertime when your hair gets very dry. Alright, let's get started on what oils I'll be using today, I'll be using castor oil, which stimulates hair growth and thickens your hair, olive oil, which is a great risk control and help strengthen hair, sweet almond oil, which reduces shedding and prevents breakage jojoba oil, which minimizes Damage and helps dry, scalp and hair argan oil, which eliminates brittleness and hydrates your hair and peppermint oil, which promotes hair growth and is great relief for eg, scalp and then I'll be using an applicator bottle just to make things less messy and we don't have a Mess of oil all over the place. Now, I'm going to add all those oils to the applicator bottle. You can put as much as little oil as you like I like to usually do about an ounce of the castor oil, olive oil, jojoba oil and sweet almond oil, and then I do 20 drops of the argan oil and then about 10 drops of the peppermint Oil, so that's going to be my mix there and I'm actually going to add a little bit more because I can going over my mom's house and she likes getting hot oil treatments, so I just doubled it up there. Now that we have all the oils put together, you're going to boil water, put it into a bowl and then place your applicator bottle into that bowl and let it heat up. You do not want to microwave your oil because you may lose the benefits that all the oils have so now, while that's heating up, I'm going to section off my hair to make applying the hot oil treatment easier. Now that I have my hair for sections, I'm going to test the oil on my hand before using it, so I don't burn myself if it's too hot I'll, let it cool down a little bit more, but if it's just right we're going to get deserted. So now I'm going to apply a little bit of warm water to my hair. I don't want to soak it just enough to add a little bit of moisture and then I'm going to take my applicator bottle and distribute the oil throughout each section of my hair. So I'm going to be taking it from root to end and also focusing on my guide book be sure to massage it through your hair. So every strand is coated in oil especially ends. Remember your ends are the oldest part of your hair, so we got to make sure we show them extra left once all the oils in my hair, I'm going to add a plastic cap, we're going to add some extra feet to this. Adding seat will open up the hair cuticle and allow the oils to penetrate in your hair. So all the oil and the benefits are going to get all up in your hair, which we want so I'll be using a hot head which is a heating cap. It'S microwavable heating cap I'll, leave all the info down below, and I'm going to leave that in my hair for 30 minutes. I just want to show you the instant results of the Tal treatment, the manageability of my hair, the shine it's so easy to tangle. So now I'm just going to jump in the shower and go on with my wash day, I'm going to rinse off the oil shampoo and condition my hair and then style. My hair feels so good. It'S super moisturized kind of shine, easy to detangle, and it's just so soft. Thank you so much for watching. I hope this video was helpful and be sure to check out the description box, I'm going to leave all the info down there and I want to show you my results. After my hot oil treatment. Look at my wash and go super shiny. I am loving it. How soft it is it looks amazing. Thank you. So much for watching see you next time.
